Easy to find. Very friendly staff with a smile. Very steep staircase in old building, but lift to take bags up and down. Family room was clean and well equipped with large bath and shower. Perfect location to explore the city easily on foot and also tram links. We thoroughly enjoyed the local Sandwich bar and De Italiaan one block away. Lidl also very close.

Lovely room, has everything I needed and a good size too with a nice view of the canal. The staff were wonderful and even left me a gift and balloons as it was my birthday which was such a kind gesture.
Nice location near vondenpark and the tram line which was handy for trips to the centre although I did walk it on occasion.

Do not book this hotel. We had this hotel for 3 nights and when we arrived at 11pm second night our room had no electricity and so no heating in -4C. We called the emergency number given as the reception closes at 8 pm and the person said he is working at another hotel and cannot help at all. The owners are living in China and intentionally avoid any contact so that you cannot get any resolution. The person on emergency contact told us that we can checkout and find a new hotel in a stranger city at 11pm. Next day the reception told us they will try to contact owner and process refund and also Expedia said they will contact the hotel and get us a refund. But no refund because they are unable to contact the owner. Such hotels should be blacklisted. They should have better service than providing an emergency number which the person cannot even help. One of the worst experiences.

Location wasn’t too far from public transportation. Rooms were pretty cramped for our family of 4 and wall were thin so was easy to hear neighbors, but at the end of the day the key is comfortable bed, clean, and hot shower which hotel got all those marks.

I really liked the canal view room and the location slightly outside of the central and red light district. The proximity to public transport made getting around a breeze. The nearby market was also very handy. The room was clean and comfortable.

Reception was great and informative, they also rent bikes which is quite convenient, although just regular bikes not e-bikes. Overall, the experience was great and would highly recommend this property as it also offers an elevator/lift versus stairs.

Clean lovely spot, walkable to tram lines. The only issue is with the elevator and stairs, elevator only covers the first 3 floors, and I needed to climb super dense and tight stairs to the forth floor where my room was.

The stairs inside were scary. Very steep. Luckily it had a lift. Not an elevator though. The room was extremely tight with no room to walk around. The shower did not have a door so water flowed everywhere. Floor was always wet. It was very clean and had a great view, The location was great and close to the several attractions. We were able to walk everywhere from here.

Stayed for about a week. Overall nice stay. The bathrooms were clean and the room AC worked well. The room was a tad smaller which was fine for 2 people. The stairs like any other European stay are steep! They do have an elevator. The staff were very nice and accommodating. The hotel is about a 5-10 minute walk from a main railway that can take you anywhere. Convenient, well priced, and would stay again.

Despite being in a very popular neighborhood with lots of shops and restaurants, I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet this hotel was. Staff was amazing! So helpful. My only issue was the elevator. It was out-of-prder and the stairs were extremely narrow and steep. If you have mobility issues then this could be a big problem for you. Other than thhat we really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is clean and has everything we needed. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. The area is nice and quiet, allowing us to get good night's rest. The staff are friendly and helpful. You must be able to climb narrow Dutch-style stairs if your room is located in the upper floors. The location is very convenient for walking to the Rijkmuseum, Vondelpark and other places in the museum district. We liked the peacefulness of the area and are very happy that we chose this hotel and this area of Amsterdam for our stay in the city.

The 3 stars are only because of the hotel location and friendly staff.

The property has really narrow set of stairs and lifts weren't working. Thankfully we were just on the first floor but we saw many people struggling and it was definitely a trip hazard.

Our room itself was quite small, so much so that as soon you open the door, you were 2 steps away from bed. It was near stairs area and quite noisy. We could hear our next door and upstairs neighbours almost all hours of the day. On top of that, the bed had an extra thin mattress on top of the actual fitted mattress (not sure why) and it was it uncomfortable to sleep on as it kept moving and it didn't fit the bed.

It was uncomfortable, noisy and overall not worth the money.

The property was clean; however there was mold in the shower, which they cleaned and then allowed me to change rooms. The next room had a bit of mold too and the curtain in the bathroom just fell down when I touched it. A nice, well located place, but not sure that it’s worth the price.

The location was perfect. Check in was simple. The room was a good amount of space for 2 people. The bed sank in at the middle a little bid - it’s probably just an old mattress, but it was fine at the end of the day. Pillows were fluffy. The bathroom was spacious. This was one of the better stays throughout our Europe trip.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this hotel, except for its location, which is very convenient and lovely. The main issues were: we could hear something that sounded very much like mice scurrying inside the wall behind our beds. When I asked about this at the front desk they were not very surprised, and said \"Well, Amsterdam has mice.\" The other problem was that people were smoking outside our back window late into the night. I think the arrangement of rooms and private patios is not so good for sound and smell-proofing, and it was very disturbing to our rest. At one point I was in the bathroom and I noticed that through the semi-transparent glass window there was a person right on the other side of it, presumably another guest on their terrace. I thought I was in a private space in our bathroom, but then I was really alarmed to see there was someone just a couple feet away from me outside the window. Also, there was some kind of loud drainage pipe that ran through our wall and made odd and loud sounds. My boyfriend and I barely got a wink of sleep :( .

We enjoyed our stay at NL hotel. The room was small, but comfortable and clean, and has a lovely view of the canal outside. It was conveniently located to the 397 direct bus from the airport and within walking distance of downtown (if you like to walk). Very close to the museums. Nice area with many local restaurants and bars. The only hiccup was that there was nobody around when we arrived and nobody answered the bell. We had to phone a number that led us to another hotel one block down. It got sorted out within a half hour though. We’d stay here again.

For the price it was a good value. Easy check in and nice staff. Bed was comfy and it had a fridge which was a plus. After staying in some tiny London hotels it actually felt roomier than we expected. Only negative is the shower is open so the bathroom floor would be soaked after a shower.

Great location to see the centre and the outer, more residential areas of Amsterdam. The room (canal view comfort room) was spacious enough. The cleanliness of bedding and towels was subpar on occasions. The stairs were scary but not unusual in Amsterdam.

We stayed in October when the school was out so this hotel was over $250/night and NOT worth that. It was relatively clean but you could tell the building is old and a little rough with things such as the toilet seat falling off and a windows hing broken so the window sort of falls out when you try to open it. The shower design also wasnt condusive to several people getting ready at the same time as the shower walls were essentially the walls of the bathroom and the shower drain was very slow so if you took more than a 2 minute shower (not joking here) the bathroom floor would flood. Making it hard to get ready when someone is showering or for a period after while the bathroom floors drained.

Overall, good location and comfy, clean beds. Just not worth what we paid for it at the time, at all!

The room above us was incredibly noisy. We heard stomping throughout the day and night for our entire stay. The hotel did provide ear plugs, which we ended up using. We had a beautiful canal view and were on the 1st floor so we could hear people talking and walking by throughout the night. The water pressure in the bathroom was very low and made showering a bit of a challenge but overall, it was a good stay.

The staff went above and beyond to assist us. The stairs were very steep and so they put us on the first floor which helped a bit but we knew these were the conditions when we booked the hotel. There were multiple dining options within walking distance and we were happy with that. Overall, I would recommend the hotel.

It was reasonably priced compared to others in the area, rooms were very clean and modern (with air conditioning) and the lady on the front desk was very friendly. It's located about 20 mins walk outside of the city centre in a really nice area of town. Ideal for any couple as we were staying in Amsterdam

The hotel was nice enough and not expensive. It's incredibly walkable and close to everything in Amsterdam. If you're not planning on spending much time in the hotel, I would recommend staying here.

The front desk staff was incredibly nice.

The room itself is small and a bit outdated. The bathroom is incredibly tight. The most difficult part of the property is the steep stairs - which I can't really fault them for as most buildings in this area of Amsterdam are historic - but be prepared for incredibly steep stairs to reach your room. There is an elevator, but it is slow and tight.

The thing about Amsterdam is you won't want to spend your time in your hotel room, so this is a great place to call home base while you get out and explore one of the best cities in Europe.

Pretty clean! Staff are extremely helpful!! The hotel recently added an elevator (manually operated by the rider) that goes from lobby to 3rd floor, but to go to 4th (has only 4 floors) you need to take the stairs. Note that the stairs are spiral kind which could be a little difficult to take if you have mobility issues or heavy luggage. But if you don’t, take the stairs, it’s part of the Amsterdam architectural charm!

Lovely little hotel that makes accessing museums and other attractions easy. Our rooms looked out on the canal and the neighborhood beyond. So quiet! Steep stairs to to 4th floor might be challenging to the elderly. Did wish for a common room where one might retreat during the day if one was at the hotel and not able to spend time in the room. Cafes nearby are a good solution.

Unfortunately the elevator was out of service but the staff offered to carry our luggage up the stairs. Room was modern and everything worked as should.

The location is great, the rest needs improvement.

The mattress is wafer thin, you can hear quite a bit of noise at night even with the window closed, the shower is a dribble and the bedlinen were dirty i.e. black curly hair inside the bed when I got there and I have blond straight hair.
On the positive side, they have a small lift which most hotels in the area don't.

The hotel is located near Leidseplien, a very busy and popular area in Amsterdam. The hotel building is extremely old, has an elevator only for certain floors. The entry steps are steep and hard to navigate for anyone with any health issues. Our room was on the basement, very small with a small window. And it was far less expensive than other hotels. Interior noise was a problem.

Was here for 4 days staying in amsterdam, easy walking distance, the rooms were tiny and ours was covered in mould. We found it to be freezing the heating wasnt working. We had to ask for fresh towels. Staff were friendly enough. Stairs are very narrow expected in amsterdam and there is a very small lift. Wouldnt recomend and dont think its value for money very expensive for the conditions.

The room was a bit small but fits four people fine. We had two full size beds and a window view. You can hear the cars speeding by but the property provides ear plugs, plus the bed was facing the window so my head was right there. The stairwell is super steep but that’s expected. They have a cool lift, it’s not quite an elevator as it is a true lift. Fits 3 people, 4 if you like to squeeze but 2 if you have luggage. It’s walking distance to pretty much everything as it’s about 1 miles from the train station and everything is between the hotel and the station. 10 minutes to Leidseplein which has restaurants and shops and a great nightlife. 15 minutes to Anne Frank, Royal Palace, flower market, and museums.
The hotel is small in nature but clean and in a safe location. The neighborhood is very cute and houses lots of restaurants throughout. Good hotel for the price I paid. Great location!
