The room was clean and the bathroom was spotless. If you want a hair dryer to borrow, you'll need to put down a deposit. It's close to the tram that takes you into town which is great. The morning buffet was impressive.Nearest coffee shop is a 20 min walk. Would stay again!

Stayed here for the Amsterdam Marathon. Was a great location to get into town easily with the tram station just a minutes walk away.

Place was clean and the reception staff were welcoming.

Breakfast was continental only, which again was good for what we wanted. Only thing is the layout of the trays/food/coffee meant for a lot of congestion in the morning.

Only main issue was the air conditioning unit in our room was noisey (even when it was turned off) which for light sleepers like us was a bit annoying.

This Ibis Budget hotel was, I thought, actually very comfortable. Room was fine. Bed comfortable. I got a reasonable deal at a busy time, when a big conference on.
The hotel is close to the excellent public transport in Amsterdam. I was really very happy.

Value for money for a one night stay. Very close to the tram station which takes you directly into the city. Rooms are bit small, but has everything you would need. Perfect for a weekend getaway. Free parking on the streets on the weekends, and good charging options too if you have an EV

You get what you pay for in regards to the room. We had a very basic 3 bed room which was very clean and did the job. As we were only in Amsterdam for 2 days we only needed something very basic. The thing I liked the most was the self service kiosk in the foyer area meaning you could grab snacks or drinks at any time of night.
The staff were very helpful especially explaining how to get into central late at night.
The surrounding area is nice and the hotel is very close to transport links such us buses and trams. From the hotel you can walk to Amsterdam Bos in about 20 mins

Much much smaller than depicted in the photos shown on the website. Was ridiculously crowded and uncomfortable generally. When speaking to front desk, offered little to no help and said take it up with the website.

We recently stayed at Ibis Budget Amsterdam. As expected, the hotel offers a very basic experience, but there were a few drawbacks. The room was quite small and had a noticeable odor. It also didn’t seem freshly cleaned, and we had to request clean towels and rent a blow dryer. Noise from the hallway was also an issue during our stay.

While the hotel is affordable, being outside the city center meant spending extra on transportation. In the future, we’ll consider staying closer to the center for more convenience and comfort, even if it means paying a bit more.

Staff were nice on the first day and then became progressively rude after you checked in, the room was dirty with plumping pipes visible, and room maintenance was basically non existent (they didn't empty our bins, or make the bed, so what exactly were they cleaning?). The parking was absolutely terrible! The ticket machine was broken, and we prepaid for the parking, but kept having issues getting into the car park because it was allegedly 'full' when there were clearly spaces available. Seems like this hotel will just make people prepay for parking without actually reserving a space for them. Also, the hotel felt extremely unsafe. Reception was always unoccupied or the receptionists were chatting among themselves, basically anyone could just walk in and take the lift to the rooms with no issue. The back door also was never locked and you could just walk in whenever. The lockers to keep your belongings safe were also broken. Also, you have to pay a deposit to borrow a hairdryer, and if there are none available, tough luck apparently. Lastly, the receptionists straight up lie. We were told there was free hot water (it wasn't, you have to pay for it). Just ridiculous experience overall.

Basic hotel with easy access by nearby tram

I had previously stayed in Amsterdam South as the price of hotels is more acceptable with this being the reason we chose this one.

The hotel initially felt a little far out but actually the tram made it really accessible to get into central Amsterdam but note the trams finish around midnight.

I had stayed in an Ibis Budget before so I knew the rooms are basic but acceptable. My room lacked a table and seats, the second room I booked had them, so I am assuming it was damaged and never replaced.

There was a self service shop downstairs but while convenient was a little pricey. We tried to buy hot drinks a couple of times but the English breakfast tea was never available after our initial cup. Also the cups supplied varied from size each and every time we asked for one, so some drinks felt better value for money than others.

There is an automated pizza oven in reception which is a great idea, just a shame they were not stocked at all times as there were never any pizzas available when we got in late at night.

Reception staff were ok, semi efficient but can’t say they were overly personable. They were all very young so maybe lacked the interpersonal skills a little

All was well overall however I found the cleaning was substandard, “clean” towels had long stands of hair in them. Daily cleaning was simply pulling the bedsheets on the bed.

Noisy Air con. Can't switch off/reduce fan speed

Had stayed at the hotel previously, so chose again. The only significant problem is that the air conditioning in the room cannot be switched off or altered. This meant that the fan was on a noisy setting all night. Luckily I had ear plugs which I had to push well in to eliminate the noise. if it weren't for this, I would have given it a 4-5* rating. If I hadn't had ear plugs, then I would have given 1* due to the difficulty of getting to sleep

Cons :
noisy extractor in bathroom all through the night.
Towel used once and hung up was replaced with clean.
Reception pushed Lucia’s next door for food but did give directions to some other places if asked further.

Place was perfect for the price. Staff werent overly friendly but very professional and polite. Location is a bit out the city, but its a nice place. Little park nearby aswell that is lovely. The tram in front of the park will take you into the city, with just 1 change but with public transport in Holland no need to worry over the change. Most we waited was 5 minutes. An uber is about 24 euro. Quite happy with our stay, only complaint would be the air conditioning is a bit weak. Couldnt lower the room temp lower than 20 according to the thermostat. But overall very nice

The hotel was clean and comfortable, but basic. It is one of the more affordable hotels in Amsterdam, but this comes at the cost of being removed from the city centre. There are bus and tram stops a short walk from the hotel, however.
There isn't much choice for dining in the area, which seems to be a student campus. However, it is a short trip on public transport, or a walk, towards Station Zuid, where there is plenty of restaurants.

All in all, we enjoyed our stay.

The property is very clean, beds are comfortable and proximity to the public transit is great. The rooms are on the smaller side and the breakfast is not worth what you pay for it. At the rate of the rooms, the breakfast being offered should be included and not an additional fee.

The location was fine with the tram just around the corner, so easy to get into the city centre.
The beds were really hard and pretty uncomfortable to sleep on. We had to ask for our heating to be fixed as the room was freezing, but it still didn’t work by the time we left. Little shop was pretty pricey, as was the food we ordered from a local takeaway using the screen in the hotel, but they food was really tasty.

The IBIS budget is a clean and nice enough hotel for the money. It's nearest tram stop is Kronenberg. It's about 30-40 mins into the centre. We paid for breakfast which was continental and very nice. Staff were super friendly and helpful. It was clean. Very basic rooms so no tea and coffee facilities in the room we had (906) and it did get quite hot. Aircon went to 18 degs no lower so bit hot at night. Only downside were the beds which we both found uncomfortable. There was shower gel in the shower. TV but no English speaking channels.

Cleaners not Clean!

The hotel is not honest about its promises. I received an email encouraging me to check in online a day early, which promised a \"welcome in style.\" However, there was no such welcome upon my arrival. When I inquired with the staff, they seemed completely unaware of what that \"welcome in style\" referred to.


The room was very cramped, offering just enough space for our small bags, leaving us with little room to move. The cleaning staff refused to change our bedding, saying they only do so every three days. The woman who came to assist us, seemingly in charge of the cleaning team, was wearing earphones and didn’t acknowledge us when she entered. Instead, she brusquely stated, \"I heard you need my service,\" in a condescending tone. As she made the bed, she continued speaking, either to herself or to someone on the other end of a call, and there was no friendliness in her demeanor. I believe she spoke a language other than German, which I understood.

Apart from this - everything else was ok

Great stay

Really enjoyed our stay, the hotel was perfect for our needs. The hotel was about a 40 min tram ride (no 5) from Centraal station, the route passed by the Van Gogh museum and close by Anne Frank’s house so was in a good position for main sites. The tram stop was about 2 mins away from the hotel. The room was fairly compact with the trundle bed, but we didn’t mind at all with us barely spending any time there during the day. The en suite/shower was lovely. Breakfast comprised of a nice buffet with rolls, cheeses, meats, fruit, cereals etc and juices and hot drinks. The hotel itself had a convenient site in the ground floor and lovely restaurant next door. Also saw a heron in the outside pool. I would say this is a perfect option for people who want to save on accommodation to allow them to see the sites, and don’t mind hopping trams to get about. We bought a 3-day pass and it gave us the freedom to get about, and easily navigate getting back to the hotel.

Miscommunication and Mediocre Cleaning Standards

We paid extra for late checkout and specifically asked the staff not to be disturbed but unfortunately, housekeeping barged into our room 2.5 hours before checkout time, without knocking. One of the bed sheets had small brown stains on it. Apart from those, the room was okay for the price.
