The WiFi was good. While the room was small and minimalist, it had everything needed. If you are staying solo as I was this is ideal. If you are staying with another person, if they don't mind less space then this is also a great pick, but if you want someone that really needs a lot of space then might not be ideal.

The room heating either wouldn’t start for hours or just wouldn’t turn on. Had to go downstairs multiple times a day for over four days to try and get them to try and do something. They offered other people different rooms due to the same issue and not me even when I asked multiple Times. On top of it House keeping never came to my room to either take trash or the exchange towels or floor mats. On the the outside of the building; it snowed and they did nothing to clear a bath or even Salt the front of the building. And to add the cherry on top they had construction next down starting almost every (including Saturday) day at or around 6am. So you will wake up to banging and shivering. The staff is nice but there was just to many issues to ignore.

The hotel was quite good, and the staff were friendly; however, I did not quite prepare for the experience associated with an upper capsule room with no window. It was like going to boarding school over again, and I missed the early morning sun streaming through the window and being able to sit on the bed while doing other things. It is definitely not for a claustrophobic person.

The room was very clean. It had a good shower facility with supplied shower gel.It was a budget room so I did not expect a large room, more a place to sleep. For somewhere clean, safe, friendly staff and with refreshment machines and less than ten minutes walk to the tram station, I can't complain.

However, you could hear your guest throughout the night with the doors slamming and the walls being so thin other than that there were no complaints. The room was really really clean and it's actually alot bigger than I thought the room would be. Check-in was easy it's done via a machine in the lobby. Nice coffee machine, microwave and vending machines in the lobby too. The only downside was the noise from other rooms, the first night I got no sleep due to slamming doors, chatting and general noise from the other rooms. The last night was okay I slept well, so it really just depends on who is next to you when you stay. Was cheap and within walking distance to Amsterdam

Surprisingly comfortable.

The room was bright and clean. Nice wet room bathroom with rain head shower. It was surprisingly roomy for a capsule room. Because it was bright there was no claustrophobia with the lack of windows. The common spaces were a nice touch for getting out of the small room.

Overall an 85/100. Staff are super nice and informative. Every person at the desk was knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. I give a ding on cleanliness as the pods are cleaned before you arrive, and after you leave. With the size of them I understand. If you have your stuff inside you’re going to have limited room to clean. Walls are a little thin. But for the price, service elsewhere, and all you have in the room it’s great. What’s my biggest downer is location. It’s next to the 5/25 line but it’s about 1.05km-1.30km from either nearest stations. And from there if you want to transfer to central that’s an extra train apart from the tram. I can’t tell you how many times I forgot something and had to walk all the way back to get it. Another downer is that there are not many food options available.
Other than that, if you’re experienced using the transportation system in Amsterdam and don’t mind the extra steps this is a must book. Hostel vibe without the fear of someone rummaging through your stuff, or sleeping with someone watching you. Stayed for 10 days total would 100% stay here again.

The rooms were compact and clean and the system for check-in/out was excellent.
There were vending machines in the lobby for both hot and cold drinks, and a breakfast area which was spacious, though the breakfast selection was limited
The area surrounding the hotel is mainly office buildings with some areas in the process of regeneration, so was very quiet over the weekend. I would imagine there is a bit more noise during the week.
The main tram station was within fairly easy walking distance and the trams ran regularly into the city.

Our stay at Diamond Capsule Hotel was great! Alex was especially helpful with our room and renting bikes one day. This was a great affordable alternative to other hotels and hostels. There wasn't much space but that wasn't really needed with us being out and about all day. About 45 min from the city center, the only problem was that our sheets were never changed, and we had to ask for clean towels. Overall we were very happy with our stay.

The hotel is okay, but some of the facilities are poorly designed. The shower we had bad drainage, and water kept on pooling near the toilet and the sink as well. We could hear people outside the room, especially because there was a large group of teenagers who were staying on our floor.
If you need a bed for the night, this place is a good cheap option

Location is awful. No nearby shops. Next to an abounded building. You hear the doors slam in the morning and at night. No ice machine. If you need to use the hair dryer, you must return it right away. Close to public transportation, however after midnight it’s not available. Probably better off staying at a hostel.

The hotel is pretty much in the middle of nowhere and the area looks a bit dodgy (it’s right beside a huge derelict building) so you’re pretty much confined to the hotel and having ramen from the vending machines for dinner.
That said, the room was pretty cool. Extremely small but the bathroom was big and it was fine for one night. The bed was clean and comfy but the floors could have done with a sweep. Word of advice, if you are over 40, over-weight or height adverse, do NOT get an upper bunk. Very scary to climb up and down.

Pros - very quiet area, nice staff, comfy bed, great shower, great value.

Cons - very small rooms, very thin walls, luckily my neighbour was quite quiet, not much nearby.

Overall thought great value, lovely surroundings, nice fields & walkways nearby but not too much else, so it's great if you want peace & quiet area wise, think was 25 ish mins walk to Metrolink then about 15 mins to Amsterdam Central station on very frequent transport.

One of the staff was unfriendly. The sheets and towels weren't that clean. The property next door is abandoned so it felt super unsafe to walk around. The faucet felt dirty, because of its design. The self service station was empty so we couldn't get new towels or anything. One good thing was that we ordered upper bed and we got lower one instead, which was more convenient.

I loved my stay at the Diamond Capsule Hotel. It's not really a capsule hotel in the Japanese sense, more a small sleeping area/working area with a magnificent bathroom.

Loved the rainfall shower, the bed (best night's sleep I've had for ages), and a great and reasonably priced breakfast.

The area is pretty far away from Amsterdam proper but there are trams, or you can easily walk it. Amstelven is a really quiet and safe area.

I had booked weeks ago via Expedia. When I arrived at the hotel they had no record of this. After going back and forth with the staff they finally found my reservation. I then had to wait 1 hour to be given a room as they had over booked. Other than all was good the staff worked hard to find us a room. The cleaner may I add was a lovely little lady. The hotel is a bit \"out of the way\" on the map, but it has excellent bus connections to Amsterdam Zuid/Europaplein, where one can take the metro to any part of Amsterdam.
The rooms are spatious - more so than you may think - and the bed is fairly comfortable. Thankfully, there is also enough space for an adult to sit up in bed while reading or scrolling on a phone.

This was a great budget place for my friends and I to crash out last night before flying back to the states. Good to have some alone time in our respective pods. Facilities are fine, space in the capsule is tight, but I slept great and the bathroom in there was great too. Staff are super friendly too and took advantage of the bike rental as well.

The stay was good and reliable, although there is a see-through bathroom door. We struggled to work the aircon, but even without it it isn't bad. A good location for college-aged travelers as it's right by a campus and there's a tram stop nearby. Goodbye, ladder to bed and see-through toilets, it was great.

Dangerous bunk bed, horrible area to stay

Reserved an upper bunk bed room without knowing how dangerous it would be, given that there is only one handle and it’s quite difficult to balance yourself if you’re not young and fit.
I expressed my concerns and explained I was worried about having an accident (not joking, if you fall you could kill yourself due to the layout of the room) and I was transferred to a lower bunk room, AT A COST. They refused to waive the fee, claiming I was trying to get a more expensive room for free. I explained that my concern about my safety was genuine, and they were more concerned about 25 euros than ensuring my safety.
I would not recommend this place; it’s far from everything, noisy and surrounded by abandoned properties. And, as I said, upper bunk beds are UNSAFE.

Okay so it's a capsule hotel so you gotta be aware of what that is. Every time i walked outside i was surprised to not be in Tokyo (where i stayed in a capsule).
The rooms are cleaner than the lobby area. The capsule itself, i did no windows but that was hardcore for a week. How can i put this, you really have to know yourself to be able to be in a windowless room. Days melt, time is irrelevant. It's a modern shiny spaceship. The best part is the private bathroom and the blazing fast wifi.
Arrive during the day or you're going to be second guessing yourself because next door is a large abandoned office park covered in Graffiti. But the hotel and area is safe.
This area was bustling but the covid lock downs killed it and it hasn't bounced back yet. Grocery store, small mall is close. Campus across the street has some cool bars and places to chill. Uber is 21 euro to Central.
It's nice to find a cheap spot kinda close to the craziness of west, north and central Amsterdam. Wandering around knowing i have a safe quiet place with a bathroom was nice.
All of the staff i met and a few travelers were all very nice even with the usual kind of sketched out vibe Amsterdam has in general.
They should rent out cubicles with internet you can plug into on the 4th floor. That would be great.
Solo travelers, people too old for a hostile and female travelers - I definitely recommend. Please don't judge a book by it's cover, it's the safest I've felt in awhile. Thank you Capsule. Cheers!

Great capsule hotel with more room capacity. Great first time experience for a capsule hotel. We had to leave the water for 10mns before it will get warm.

The capsule idea was new to me. The room was snug, but it was enough. The staff was fantastic to work with, providing luggage storage, help, and great service. The budget breakfast was filling and easy. Washer/dryer is in the parking lot and open to the public. We had hoped to use it, but timing didn't work in our favor. Close to a tram line, transportation was easy. The only weird thing was the bathroom door was transparent. That was a little awkward.

Clean and perfectly formed. No frills but had all the amenities required including clean shower (wet room), own toilet and bed/desk. The only downside was that it was a bit noisy as the rooms were so close together. Would recommed for solo travellers as nowhere to socialise/meet friends etc in the room. I stayed for a conference and it was good value for money.

It’s a small room without a window. However, the mattress is very comfortable, the furnishings are top notch, and the staff are very nice and helpful. I would definitely stay again. I heard more noise in my room from the doors opening and closing in the hallway than my neighbors.

The Hotel is in a very quiet safe area. Although the rooms are very small they are very clean and have all the facilities you need. The staff are very helpful and my friend and I had booked rooms with a high bed which was unsuitable for us but the staff were brilliant and sorted it for us and we changed our room.s Would highly recommend.

Hotel Receptionists Alex, Johnny, Zack and rest are very helpful with directing locations, booking attractions, any advice you may need. Exceeding expectations as service in 5* hotels with concierge services.
I was impressed by bathroom design & size, luxury duvets, bed linen, comfortable beds.Very clean and new hotel with unique design and Japanese concept for space saving. Only size of rooms is small if y want to spend longer time in it might not be best for you. I ll be definitely coming back to this unique hotel.

Absolutely loved our stay in the diamond capsule hotel! Great staff and great place to rest our heads. Super easy to get to central 15 min walk to the tram, 10 mins on the tram and then 15 mins on the underground. Only thing i would say be careful walking late at night as there is a rather terrifying abandoned building next door (smashed windows and graffiti) and there was some kids hanging around. Amazing hotel would definitely return!!

It was quiet first night then outside of hotel was celebrations and firework,very loud.Also you can hear next door persons in their bathrooms,very thin walls .Nearest tram is 12 min on foot ,then change to metro 52 Noord to Amsterdam Central-15-20 minutes .
No hand towels provided-must use bath towel and no towel rails for drying in bathroom
Price was accordingly to service .I didn't use dining .There is Starbucks
by metro station

Would recommend overall, good for short stay

The pros were the location, close to the airport and Amsterdam Central, great local transport links and supermarkets nearby, and it was a surprisingly quiet area considering its proximity to university dorms. My room was clean when I checked in, the communal areas like the lifts, reception and hallways were all very clean too. I only spoke to one member of reception staff but he was friendly and helpful. Easy self check-in process, took no time at all and my room was easy to find.

Two negatives, one personal and one general. I didn’t think the loss of a window in my room would be a big deal as it was a short stay and I spent most of my time outdoors anyway, but I was sometimes disoriented in the day as it was always dark without the lights on. It’s not a knock on the hotel as the pictures clearly show there’s no window and I knew that was the case before I booked. Just advising that if you’re used to natural daylight then this is not the room for you.

General negative is housekeeping. It felt like they were trying to make as much noise as possible when cleaning. No consideration for the guests that might still be sleeping/busy/require quiet. Dragging metal chairs across the tiled floor, hitting every wall when hoovering, shouting to each other over the hoover. Every morning I was woken up by them.
The walls are a little thin and doors are also far too heavy, every one of them slams behind you. All hotels should have soft close doors, people go there to sleep after all!

On my first night there we found the aircon didnt work and we was cold all night, we found the room filthy under the bed, but after complaining about this and showing the proof the manager gave us a big discount, little did we know our next hotel let us down and we found we had no wherd to go for the next night, but the manager of this hotel helped us with 2 single rooms as that is what was left and gave us the big discount and a little more to help us out. For a new hotel they are still learning, but they have great customer service and the manager was so friendly and helpful.
