Not sure it could be called a Hotel. More like a Hostal. Beds were uncomfortable. Sheets and covers were stained not clean. The beds fell apart. They seemed to be assembled cheaply. At 4am in the morning there was loud music that woke us up and our room began to fill up with the smell of marijuana smoke. No apologies were given to us only that the person responsible for the loud music and smoke was thrown out of the hotel.

Decent but quite noisy, especially as it’s an old building you can hear other rooms pretty easily, and the street if you are on that side.
Nice to have the mini fridge and kettle in the room.
The bathroom design is really poor though : the door open on the inside ! So to access the toilets behind the door it is super inconvenient as the sink is blocking the way as well… This door should definitely open to the outside !

We stayed here for two nights during our time in Amsterdam. You are very close to both a grocery store and the tram which will get you anything the city quick and cheap.
There are a lot of restaurants in the area. There was some construction going on during our visit in the lobby area. But our room on the third floor was clean bright cheery and just what we needed and expected

I’d recommend and I’d stay again.

The hotel is only just outside the city centre but has good transport links and so getting around is very easy. The staff were friendly and the hotel was clean. The room was small but was en suite. The room also had team and coffee making facilities which is unusual for a budget hotel in the Netherlands and a welcome surprise. Sadly the TV in the room was broken, I reported this to reception only to be told many of the TVs in the hotel did not work and that it was down to the WIFI. Strangely the hotel WIFI worked fine and I was able to connect my phone it and use it without problem. I don't visit Amsterdam to watch TV but it is the reason this review is only 4 stars. The breakfast was good, continental buffet style and for only 10 euros a bargain. I will stay here again when I next visit Amsterdam.

Wouldn’t recommend.

It is a very nice building. The breakfast was good, but the room was terrible. The mattress kept sliding off the bed. The toilet seat kept sliding around after my husband fixed it. There was no working fan in the bathroom either.

From the outside, the hotel is not inspiring and that impression continues when you go inside. I had a number of confusing messages before check-in about having to provide another credit card, despite having selected the option to pay at the property. The room was basic, but ok. Bathroom was small and the shower flooded the entire room as well as splashing into the bedroom area. TV didn't work on arrival but was fixed and the door to the room didn't lock, but I was told this was a security feature!
Location is pretty good for the RAI and it's easy to get into the city centre on public transport. Didn't try the breakfast, apart from taking away a couple of pastries, but it looked basic.

THEY CHARGED MY GUARANTEE CARD

This hotel Is located close to the centre and has great transport links. The staff were friendly and the room was clean and a good size.
Unfortunately The hotel experience was a total letdown as after taking card details to guarantee the room cover the hotel charged my credit card £171 after telling me they would not charge my card at all. Now I have been told that the money will go back onto my card within 10 to 15 days however this payment was not authorised and I am furious.
I tried calling the hotel to find out why money was taken from the card and I was told to call back the next day and then the woman hung up on me.
When I called back I was told the same thing.
The room was already overpriced and to be charged an extra £171 was incredibly frustrating.
I certainly will not stay here again.

Clean, comfortable, inexpensive. On the tram line from the airport to the Albert Cuyp Market, the museums and the center of the city.
Not a touristy area, but still lots of good restaurants close by.
Friendly helpful staff.
Breakfast available in the hotel, if desired.
We will stay here again.

It was a great hotel in a nice suburb of Amsterdam with great tram and bus links. We were able to get a tram ever 10mins to town which took about 15 mins. There was also a night bus which picked us up from town throughout the night once the teams had stopped that brought us right to the hotel. Great area!!

Ok if you just need to sleep

The stay was ok. We booked because we thought it was close to the train station but it was quite far away. The area did have a lot of shops. There was no air conditioning but the windows open. The shower door didn’t close properly so it flooded the bathroom. The room was clean. The stairs are narrow but they had an elevator which was slow. Breakfast was an additional charge and not worth the money. There is a grocery store very close that had a great selection and good prices. Some of the were helpful.

Wanted to like this place. Staff was helpful, but it’s just a bad layout. Looks like converted rowhouse. Thin walls, you can listen to your neighbors loudly going to the bathroom, arguing, snoring, etc. We were there for biz, so the night time noise level was excruciating. Breakfast buffet is basic. Good walk to good restaurants. Nothing is close except the supermarket. Not a great overall experience

Nice, neighbourhood hotel.

This hot is conveniently located close to the tram lines but is a bit away from the busy downtown core. We enjoyed being in a neighbourhood and went to some of the local shops & restaurants. The rooms are tiny and get a bit stuffy as there is no a/c. We would stay here again.

Hotel was a little bit run down and our room was big but smelled like smoke. Location was ideal (right beside tram line) and there were a few cafes and restaurants just a close walk nearby. Shower had no door so water got everywhere when we took a shower. Tap faucet and door handle to the bathroom was also falling off.

Cold night in Amsterdam.

Not worth 230 euros per night!!

After calling to say i was working late arrived and was given my room key only to find someone else was in the room. You can imagine how badly a situation like that could have finished but luckily the guy in the room stayed asleep.

Eventually given a room which was located in another building further up the street, struggling to remember what was said about the house number etc but got in to find a cold room.

Second night cold room, complained and they eventually got it working for a few hours.

If this was a 60-80 euro a night room it would have been ok but at this price I would expect more.

Can't recommend this place at all.

Reasonable place to stay

My initial impression of this hotel was not too good. The main reason being that my floor had a stinking garbage smell. Over the next few days I could still smell a little bit but it wasnt too much of an issue in the room. Since this is a comparatively cheap place to stay, there was just one plastic glass, soap, hand towel, bath towel; no kettle for tea coffee, no iron, etc. Just a small desk and two plug points. The hotel and the rooms look old and you can say its not very polished. On the plus side, this was a convenient location. The tram stops close by and RAI is not too far (1.5Km). The staff was friendly and polite. The breakfast, even though basic, was quite reasonable. There was cereal, boiled eggs, meat, many variety of cheese, jam, bread, juice, coffee, croissant. Overall, I may say in it again in future.

The staff are very courteous and the hotel is clean and in a decent/safe area.

We had booked 2 rooms at this hotel for our crew who were working at the RAI. There seems to be 2 parts to the hotel and we had one person in each part. Speaking to them you'd think they were in different hotels. One room was quite spacious and the other not! They both agreed the rooms were very clean, it's in a convenient location for the RAI (on the tram line) and the breakfast was good. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Do not overpay for this place.

Though the room was clean and newly remodeled, it was not a very comfortable stay. There was absolutely no hot water, neither at night nor in the morning. The bathroom sink drain leaked water all over the floor, making a mess. The bathroom light and noisy bathroom fan were on a sensor, and came on when you entered the bathroom...It also came on for movement in the room upstairs, so all night long it kept coming on periodically. That doen't allow for a great night's sleep, especially after a cold shower.

The hotel was fine, clean enough, breakfast was decent, and the staff was friendly but very unhelpful. Front desk gave us a map but would not help with anything else. The hotel is right my a tram stop but far away from the center of town 15 min on tram or 40 min walk. Neighborhood is ok. It is located right next to a grocery store and I never felt unsafe walking around. All in all I probably would not stay there again but could have been worse.

Observe the room carefully before accepting

Although the room seemed clean, I only discovered in the morning that the shower was in shambles (I got in late and crashed without using the facilities. When I went downstairs to inform the front desk, I was treated like I did it! The clerk could not believe the cleaning staff did not report it. Well either the cleaners are not cleaning or one of them broke it and said nothing.

The windows facing the front of the building get a lot of noise from late night tourists. On a hot summer night when you must keep the windows open to avoid suffocation, it may be difficult to sleep beyond 3 AM.

I will not be staying there again.

Budget hotel, could do better!

The Hotel itself is OK and the staff very friendly. Breakfast was continental buffet and fine for a budget hotel. The room was small, not especially clean with very soft foam mattresses and a cushion type pillow. There were no curtains just a thin see through netting which made getting dressed public and sleeping during the summer quite hard. The bathroom was good, decent shower but no complimentary shampoo, conditioner etc, the soap dispenser in the shower was empty.

Good for the price

Given the cost of the hotel - it is excellent - you definitely get a little more than you pay for - although of course you are not paying much. Staff were excellent - hotel clean, neighbourhood still leaves me puzzled - couldn't work out whether dodgy or not - but is well connected with the tram - which can then take you into the centre or to the main stations without hassle.

A building site!! Do not stay here

Hotel was under renovation to the extreme. Every single area (except the room itself) was in complete disarray. The lift was non-functional and only a very steep windy staircase available. The hotel should not have been allowed to stay open in such a condition. I was genuinely concerned for personal safety - we should have been issued with hardhats and workboots just to enter the site! Renovations are understandable but in order to stay functional and open they should have planned it in phases and closed the section under renovation. Free wifi was good, and the room itself was passable for a budget hotel but this hotel should not be open for bookings in its current state.

Nice when it's finished

I paid over the odds for this hotel, like any other during the big international broadcasting convention IBC at the RAI down the road: every hotel seems to push its prices up, and this one was no exception.

A fifteen-minute walk from the Amsterdam RAI (or quicker by tram), this hotel was in the middle of quite serious renovation. No elevator; a massive great hole where the elevator once was (covered lightly with a plastic sheet); stairs covered in building dust; a reception cut in half by a plasterboard separator; radiators leaning against the walls and emergency lighting everywhere.

The room, once I'd panted up to the fourth floor, was okay; clean, with a large bathroom. In the 1990s this place would have been very nice, so I suspect the rooms will be given a renovation too; I had a small CRT television in the corner of the room, with a few English channels on it (primarily the domestic BBC 1).

The free wifi didn't work. I didn't have breakfast (which apparently was going on during the rubble) and checkout was painfully slow.

For location for the RAI, it's not bad. When the hotel's finished, it'll be a good place to come. But perhaps they might let you know, when booking, if the hotel's going to be in pieces. It's the kind of thing that's useful to understand.

Better than many more expensive hotels.

This is an excellent hotel for a good price. It's a block from the stop for several trams, and a 10 minute ride from the old town center, museum quarter, and centraal station, and a comfortable walk to the RAI. There are supermarket and restaurants are on the same block.

My single room was large and tastefully decorated, including a large desk and plenty of outlets. Bathroom was clean, with plenty of water pressure. Breakfast was generous, and the coffee quite good. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Wireless Internet access was extremely fast and quite strong in the room. It was far and away the best WIFI I encountered in all of Amsterdam. The hotel was quiet in the evening, including Friday night.

Not good but not all bad

I realized from the other reviews the room would be small, and I really did not mind bearing in mind the amount of time spent there. However, the were some issues with stains. The shower was really too small to deal with, but I guess most euros do not shower anyhow. There is no lift and the stairs are quite small. So long and short of it is, if you don't have alot of luggage, don't need to shower, or need alot of room period, then this is a decent spot. However, for the money, there are much better places.

The hotel is pretty tatty. My room was a little cold and the water was warm but not hot. I booked a non smoking room and was put up on the fourth floor where there were smoking rooms. The place stank of smoke. And the phone only worked intermittently. The place needs attention paid to it - it feels tired and unloved. Not recommended.

One of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. We waited outside the door for 15 minutes to check in. We couldn't get in. Despite ringing the doorbell repeatedly, a woman who didn't speak English came first. Then another extremely rude person came, claiming it was under renovation. You can't check in at 6:00 PM. The hotel is filthy and poorly maintained. There are bedbugs in the rooms. When we mentioned this, they didn't care at all.

my staying in was quite nice, a solo bed room, sometimes, not so good sound isolation, sometime it was getting noisy, relative small room, with not much of confort , but nice value to many ratio. the hotel is near the Zuit trainstation, but about 30-35 minutes per tram from th center. By feet you need about 50 minutes. It a good agreable way to go to the center -by feet- if it is not raining or windy

Bed bugs, dirty mattress and poor customer support

There are some problems with the hotel. It’s in poor conditions, the mattress had red stains and the bed sheets were brown at the corners, the walls are dirty, and in general there is a lot of construction that needs to be finished.

These things are tolerable, but then on our second night we found bed bugs on our bed sheets. The staff told us to contact the company to get a refund, but after sending emails and making phone calls, no one has answered us.

So unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. It wasn’t a comfortable stay and the customer support is really poor

Hotellet ligger i et rolig nabolag et stykke fra sentrum, men det er ikke noe problem da det går trikker rett utenfor som gjør man kommer seg rundt i byen.

Frokosten bør man unngå og heller gå på butikken som ligger 100 meter fra stedet.

Rommet var helt greit. Rent og pent, og de ansette var hyggelige.

Small, uncomfortable hotel with no service...

The room was tiny - it was barely room to move... if the bag was on the floor, there was litterarely no space left. The room was really hot, and radiator could not be turned down. The only positive was that there was a balcony, so it was possible to have the bag outside so that is was possible to move in the room. The soap was all out in the shower, and even when I put the empty cannister so that it could be changed, it wasn’t - for three days!!!! I could not recommend to stay here, and would not return even if it was free...

La ubicación es excelente en un vecindario muy tranquilo de Ámsterdam cerca de Vondelpark. Precio calidad vale la pena. Las habitaciones tienen todo lo necesario. El staff muy amable en especial Samuel.

Awful rooms and cleaning

We went in a family trip in a triple room. The first impression was that the room was really tiny and hot, the shower screen was broken, but we decided to give it a try.

The second night, when we came back to the hotel, the room was completely dirty: nobody did the floor, neither the beds, and they only bent the dirty sheets and put It over the bed. This time, we complained, and the solution they gave us was that two cleaning stuff people will come in 30 minutes. They washed the floor with stinky water, changed the sheets after our request, and talked out loud in an idiom that wasn't dutch or english.

They never gave us the opportunity to change to another room, while we got 5 more degrees in that room than in the street (32 vs 27....). The room didnt have Air conditioner.

On the other hand, we talked to three different receptionists, and only the last one, on the check out, was kind, while the other ones we're really mean and didnt even tried to solve our problems.

I wouldn't recommend anyone to go to this hotel, at least in the conditions that were offered to us.

Disgustados y decepcionados

Hace unos días nos alojamos en este hotel. Según las imágenes que proporcionan pensé que nos tocaría una habitación básica pero un poco espaciosa, al llegar y entrar en la habitación nos dimos cuenta que no era así, la habitación era pequeña con espacio limitado para moverse, al entrar al baño más de lo mismo. Cuando sales de la ducha, si pretendes coger una toalla debes salir completamente de la ducha, entrar en la habitación chorreando, cerrar la puerta de la ducha y coger una toalla. Otro de los problemas es que de los dos enchufes que habían al lado de la cama ninguno de ellos funcionaba porque estaban rotos. El wifi a la habitación no llegaba y eso que nos encontrábamos en el primer piso. Calidad-precio no están relacionadas, el hotel tiene un precio muy elevado para los servicios que ofrece. No consideraría ni que es un hotel 3* como mucho diría que es un hotel de 1*. Tuvimos un problema con el hotel y no supieron solucionarlo, nos prometieron unas condiciones y cuando vimos que no se cumplieron y quisimos reclamar simplemente no dieron respuesta. Cuando vuelva a Ámsterdam tengo claro que a este hotel no pienso volver.

Beware - Bedbugs!

I stayed at this hotel for three nights in June for a conference.

Overall the hotel seemed fine at first. Yes, the rooms are a little dirty and yes the bathroom is tiny. However, you get what you pay for and it’s quite reasonably priced in a decent location.

The trip took a very unpleasant turn though when I found out there were bedbugs in my room the morning I checked out. This was my first experience with these little creatures and hopefully my last one. I did not know this but initially you don’t feel and see the bites. A week later I had red and swollen bite marks all over my arms and legs.

I threw away half the clothes from this trip and my carry on, not to risk to import any bedbugs to my home. Together with costs for a visit to the clinician and meds I have damages of a couple of hundred EUR.

After initially offering me a discount for my next stay the hotel has gone quiet. After this experience I would expect a different kind of customer service.

Obviously I can’t recommend staying here and will never do so again!

O quarto muito aquém do mostrado no site. Aquecedorea veneziana elétrica não funcionavam.
Banheiro horrível. Pra fecha o box tem que abrir a porta do banheiro.
Localização ruim. Longe de tudo.
Não sei como consta como 3 estrelas.

Als businesshotel niet aan te raden.

Het hotel is zwaar verouderd. Te kleine badkamer met wc en het stonk erg. Verlichting niet in tact, telefoon zomaar ergens op een onhandig soort boomstam in de kamer. Raar bedrag voor gemeente belasting.
