Location was probably the best thing about this hotel.
Bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have EVER slept on in all the hotels I have ever stayed in. The mattress was about 10cm deep and kept moving sideways that I nearly fell off the bed in the night! the one pillow was lumpy that was better to sleep without it. Sole reason for only giving 3 stars review.

Also carpet got very wet inside window as lots of rain while we were there. Wasn't an area we walked on but was wet which made room bit musty.

Buffet breakfast was a nice little selection and staff in there were very nice. No hot chocolate from the machine though and I don't drink tea or coffee so just had juice and water.

Hotel mattresses was basically a three inch piece of foam - not the best. Thé A/C thankfully helped with a good night sleep. Overall thé hôtel is nice, clean and staff are very helpful. Bedroom on ground floor near back door was a little frustrating with people coming and going.

We paid an awful lot for this room with inadequate matress that did not stay or fit the divan. I am disabled so this was extremely had and an uncomfortable (as it was for my husband who is able bodied. Not sure how I did not come away without a further back injury. Room was very small but okay apart from bed. Inadequate tea and coffee provision despite a high price tag. Breakfast was good and staff were very pleasant

I have never stayed at this hotel before. the location was good and easy to get around. they had a very nice breakfast every morning. The room was a little small but it is Amsterdam and they are not know for spacious hotels in this town. I would stay here again.

We arrived at Amsterdam central station and went outside to the stops marked ‘A’ and boarded a Station RAI tram to get fairly close to ibis. For the price we paid it did feel like it was a fair distance away from town, and the room wasn’t as comfortable.

On this outer city area, the supermarkets don’t accept Visa or Mastercard

They don’t offer self serve laundry at this hotel though about 1km away Laundry Van Wou was 10 Euro for a bag of laundry (based on weight) to pick up later in the day. He was very friendly too.

The elevator is tricky to use with the touch panel.

The shower was fairly small with good pressure, though unexpectedly hot!

The bed is two tiny singles squished together with a foam topper that makes you feel like you’re falling out of bed if two people are in it. The large European cushion was hard to sleep with as I’m 6ft, I couldn’t lay it flat without my ankles hanging off the bed. Only one spare small cushion each was available.

We appreciated the clean towels everyday.

Staff was very nice. They did everything they could to provide us with earlier check in. Area is close to everything that you want to see in Amsterdam. Room was very clean, housekeeping did great job.
However room is very small. Bathroom is tiny and not very convenient. Wi-Fi speed also not the greatest. We got the room on the first floor, right by the front desk and elevator so it was pretty loud. You can also hear everything from the street. In this case you pay for location which is great and still affordable

First of all really good location has easy transportation links with a tram stop at the end of the street which is about a 3 min walk. Also has a Lidl next door should you need any last min essentials . The city and central area is also a really good distance and maybe takes around 20-30 mins but there are plenty of attractions and beautiful views to make the walk pleasant.

Hotel staff were great and really friendly was a slight issue with my assigned room but spoke to staff who were more than happy to help and gave me a room upgrade the next day.

Would definitely consider staying again for any future visits

Great stay n location

Loved the location close to Tram 4, restaurants, walking distance to lots of attractions, Lidl at the corner was convenient, very clean and updated, comfortable beds. Tanya the receptionist was very eager to help. Only con, there’s no mini fridge. Overall great stay!

Lovely really friendly staff , couldn't do enough to help. great location to be in with good amenities all around.
nice clean modern look and feel to the hotel also.
The only downside was that the breakfast room was a little small for the amount of guests and the layout of the breakfast area was a bit cramped. but don't let this put you off as its a great hotel , honestly .

Not very far from a tram stop, but don't go to the wrong hotel (there are 2 Ibis hotels in the same row!). Our room in the basement was well-furnished, but the space was tiny with not much elbow room. Quite a good selection available at the breakfast buffet.

The Ibis is basic but good value for money. The rooms were clean, the staff were very friendly, the breakfast staff couldn't do enough. Room size is very small and ours had no wardrobe, no drawers and no suitcase stand so our clothes were just slung over the two small chairs. Another member of our party was in the room opposite and her room was bigger than ours and had wardrobe and suitcase stand so I guess it's just luck of the draw which room you get. Location is good, it's a quiet area with easy walking distance into the city centre. If you're looking for a cheap no frills trip then this is the ideal place.

A dream coming true!

Marvelous! Staff was so helpful and friendly, always with a big smile on theirs faces. Breakfast was delicious and hearty! Location is wonderful, near Heineken building, close to bus stops and train station and lots of local shops and restaurants. We had an amazing stay at the Ibis. The staff was incredible. Paul was so helpful to give directions, suggest things to do and offer suggestions on where to eat. The breakfast was wonderful and varied. The breakfast hostess also had suggestions on things to do that were close by as well as doing a great job at running the kitchen. The hotel was very clean, check in was a breeze and the beds were comfortable. We were very pleased with our stay. Thanks!

Better of the two here, but beware noisy stairs!

This is the better of the two Ibis almost side by side on Stadhouderskade - rooms are a little less utilitarian and cosier. That said, as with both of them, the stairs are very narrow, and most importantly, NOT carpeted so very noisy if your room is either in the basement (as mine was) - seemingly people didn't know how to use a lift at 3am and I was woken every day by clattering from about 6am onwards and in the middle of each night. Other than that, room was good, breakfast was OK (but could do with some soya milk and better fresh fruit), and staff were always polite and helpful.
I am sure we will stay again next year.

The only thing I can complain about was that in our booking it said we had 2 single and double beds however only 1 single and double bed therefore had to share a bed. I prefer to sleep alone luckily we are both slim as wasn’t big double 😆

Greeted by a welcoming receptionist who spoke excellent english. Room everything we could ask for, including a view of the canal. Bed comfortable, shower good. Breakfast buffet was as expected, though the croissants proved popular so better to get there early! WiFi a little temperamental, but we didn't need it much. Ideal location within walking distance of the main attractions.
Overall no problems and really good value.

The breakfast was a little disappointing due to the lack of vegetarian/halal options. Although great options for those who can consume pork, it would have been nice to have more options for those who cannot consume pork besides cheese.

This hotel was easy to find on arrival in Amsterdam, it is really close to a tram stop that takes you into the centre or you can walk to the centre which takes around 25 mins. It's a fairly small hotel and the rooms are quite small, not that this is an issue as it's just somewhere to sleep and shower, the bathroom was compact, clean and modern and all we needed. The breakfast was substantial and although I'm not a big eater in the morning, many people had 2 or 3 plates full and it wasn't an issue. (It was self service) The staff were very helpful with the couple of questions I asked and went and got me some English breakfast tea bags one evening when I realised we only had roobos herbal bags in the room. I would recommend this this hotel to anyone wanting somewhere to stay that is adequate and a bit cheaper as it's not quite in the centre. There was also a market around the corner selling lots of the bits that the centre shops sold but much cheaper.

Breakfast included a bonus. Decent selection and plenty of it (buffet).
Nice restaurants and bars nearby, especially the taco cartel.
Around 20 minutes walk to city centre but in a really good neighbourhood (De Pijp) and noy too far from metro or tram.
Rooms quite small, but decent bathroom/bed size and everything you need (storage safe/kettle/tv with bbc/free WiFi etc) in room.

Lovely hotel just outtside the centre. Buy a tram ticket the number 4 takes you around to centre quickly. Stop only minutes away. Our room was good but in basememt so lacked natural light and air we had air con on most of the time. An enjoyable stay.

The hotel was close to all the landmarks I wanted to visit. Towards the end of our stay we unfortunately had to deal with noisy tenants who did not allowed us to rest, but the hotel receptionist did his best at attempting to ensure that no guest were bothered by this rude tenants. I was very satisfied with everything. Would deff stay there again

There are 2 rooms located right by the front desk. When we checked in, we had one of them and it sounded noisy. We asked the front desk for another room and they promptly switched us and the first floor room was quiet and wonderful. The staff are terrific there!

At 1st rhought too far out, once you got used it was fine. Last day had to case with us for 6half hrs , was a down side. Room dark due light bulb needed replaced! Not use too shower water coming too door. Once u explore , walking distance . Female waitress was helpful

Checked into this ibis hotel at around 10pm.

Didn’t realise that they have two hotels next to each other, which both have very steep steps to get into the reception. Lady at the first hotel watched as I heaved two heavy suit cases up the steps and then told us that we are in the wrong ibis, as no one was due to check into their ibis that night.
So, went to the ibis next door, up another set of steep steps.

Guy checked us in; had to pay a city tax and took 10mins to print a copy of the bill for us.
Then he told us we were in room 20. This room was literally next to the reception, breakfast room and the lift for the hotel.

The door was not sound proof so we felt that we were practically in the recpetion trying to sleep. We could hear everything in the reception all night, people talking, getting in lift and especially the breakfast at 7am. Did not sleep at all that night.

Thankfully we were only there one night.

Do not stay here!

Nice but avoid a ground floor room if you can!

We arrived as two separate couples who had two separate bookings. Our friends had booked directly with the hotel and had a lovely room, we had (as we were told by the reception staff) had booked through Hotels.com and were given the worst room in the hotel, ground floor with the lift practically in our room and a public toilet directly opposite our door and the stairs door to the left... all in use 24 hours! We couldn't even sit on the toilet without sitting sideways and the room was tiny. After a completely sleepless night we asked to move and were moved to a room on the 4th floor which was twice the size and much quieter. Overall, the hotel was in a great location, next to the tram stop and lots nearby. The breakfast was nice and the staff were mostly friendly. If we had been given a decent room from night one, we would have felt as if we'd had a proper break, however, having to move after one night really prevented us from settling in, in fact, we didn't bother to unpack properly as we only had 2 nights left to stay. I would recommend this hotel, just try not to land a ground floor room.
