The hotel was as advertised and is located in walking distance to many shops, restaurants, and museums. The facility was under renovation when I was there which made check in crowded. The stairs are steep and likely not an issue for younger travelers. I struggled a little with the stairs while carry my bags.

The hotel is currently a building site. Was not informed prior about construction works going on.
Construction noise from early morning.
Construction equipment and supplies at the entrance.
Reception area was a building site.
Scaffolding and workers outside our bedroom window.
Hotel common areas very dirty from construction.
Had no hot water in the bathroom sink. When I asked about this was told “you got the room at a good price, and don’t think cold water will be a problem for you. And maybe it’s just Ansterdam” Staff were not concerned about not having hot water!!! Bathroom also smelled very strongly of bleach on arrival which we later noticed was covering up the smell of old urine.
Was offered room at a sister hotel, but that was very dirty. Stains on bedroom walls and overall dirty.

It was just ok,
Wasn’t informed that it was a basement room at booking or I wouldn’t of booked to be honest
Very small window in room where no sunlight came into but had a window directly across from it with a light constantly shining in and you couldn’t cover the window and very bad lighting in the room also rubbish bins were not changed in room during stay.
The room was very noisy also you could hear every movement so no peaceful sleep was had
Wasn’t worth the money paid which was very disappointing

Overall a good stay! It was a capable walk with my luggage off of the train from the airport. Wonderful area with many restaurants, shops, market, cafe etc. All of the staff at the front desk were wonderful. I went at all different hours and everyone helped and answered my questions graciously. I stayed in Townhouse 816 and it was clean and comfortable. My only misunderstanding was not knowing there was different properties. So I had to carry my bags again across the street. Luckily I was only on the 1st floor so I didn’t have to carry my bags far but there is no elevator and the stairs are narrow so I felt bad for whomever was on the top floor. I also didn’t know the bathroom and shower were on separate floors. Not bad just different but you get used to it. Overall a good stay and would stay again.

While we informed the staff, their only response was that they “found no bugs” when they checked the room (likely because we had already killed them). Despite these issues, they refused to refund us for the night we didn’t stay..

If you are a rock climber and don’t mind claustrophobic spaces the place isn’t bad. If you are carrying suitcases you are going to have a hard time. Stairway is very steep. Staff were pleasant but the city of Amsterdam is filthy. I have bragged to friends about how clean Europe is compared to the US. Amsterdam is filthy.

What a strange room. There was a window up at the top of one wall and the window was left open and there was no way to reach it to close it because it was too high. People outside could actually see down into my room. I didn't realize this until I got out of the show and was standing naked next to the bed. Great. The bathroom access was down three steps. Yes, it was in the room but really strange to walk down three steps to access the toilet and shower. It was cave-like. I hit my head on the wall trying to sit down on the toilet because the room was that small. The room was NOT connected to the hotel. It was across the street (across a canal). People walking in and out of the building at all hours of the night. The floors creeked. Tiny little room - No place to put my (small) suitcase or carry on bag. Yes, there was a desk, but it was about the size of large suitcase. The sink was in the room, NOT the bathroom and there was almost not counter space at all. Nowhere to place toiletries. Would NOT recommend this place - not even at the price. Pay more and get what you expect.

Customer service at reception was great. Staff were helpful. Unfortunately the single room was in another building on the other side of the road, not in the main hotel, and it was very cramped. I also got bitten by a mosquito in 6 different areas including my face, which caused it to swell up 24 hours later. Aside from the location in the city centre, which itself is great, there is nothing much positive to say about this hotel. It's more like a hostel and i would rate it a 2* at best.

Good location accessibility but room is not clean. Previous guest garbage are left behind and dirt and left over trash under the bed. Area is so noisy, you have to open your windows to have air and you will hear screaming outside from neighbouring restaurants. Building needs fixing.

Down to Earth Hospitality in Top Location

I could not have expected more for this highly affordable lodging in a safe & central location. I booked a double/twin share room so I could share with my niece who lives in Den Haag and, ahead of flying home. All staff were highly couteous & extremely helpful. Very happy & grateful.

Small but comfortable

Bed was very comfortable, this property was very centrally located. Easily walked to anything we wanted to see. It was the perfect location to be staying at. Room and bathroom was very small, there were no towel racks in the bathroom for towels. Not very soundproof as we could hear noise from other guests. But overall, we had a very pleasant day.

The room was clean and tidy with a lovely although compact shower room. The shower was fine the toilet very close to glass partition. The sink very small which made filling kettle very difficult. The room had a small window and no view only of internal roofs. This isn't told to you in the original advert for a single room. So please note single rooms have no view. My fly screen was broken which ment the room was plagued with mosquittos that bit me during the night. Free tea but no coffee provided tea was available from the main reception, paper cups not the best to drink hot drinks out of. Nice area in Amstal regeion with close bars shops supermarket and canal.

Boutigue nice hotel convince to public transportation good for backpacker the reception hour is 7am to 12:00 pm if you need something at night from the vending machine like water or some beer. You ‘re out of luck! No refriferator.

Yet is can be very loud. Booked through Expedia. Hotel charged a decent but more in taxes due to hotel then Expedia said they would collect.

So after reading reviews of the hotel off the Expedia App (after we had booked) I was somewhat panicked due to all the bad reviews about drain flys... Bed bugs.. Shared bathrooms... Dirty rooms and unhelpful staff.

I can say I was pleasantly surprised. We stayed in the Townhouse part of the hotel over the road. Lovely view of the canal from our room. Yes it was small but ample enough for the 3 of us. We had out own bathroom. All lovely and clean.

The room was up 2 flights of stairs which are very steep and shallow making it part of the experience. Although if you ha e any mobility issues then this isn't the place for you.

I can honestly say we experienced no issues and had a lovely stay here.

Great location and pleasant stay.

Flos Deli literally around the corner is fantastic for breakfast. Lovely coffee and breakfast bagel.

If you are driving to Amsterdam it's handy to note that parking on the street it 7 euros an hour and the hotel can provide discounted parking at a local Q car park around a 15 minute walk from the hotel. This is still 37 euros per 24 hours.

ITC Hotel is located at walking distance from the mmain Amsterdam attractions. Plus is a quiet and pleasant neighborhood. But don’t expect luxury: in that area most hotels are very basic, located in old buildings with limited services. But, hey, that is a thruly Amsterdam experience! Go for it!

I booked 3 months early in order to secure a good room. Upon arrival, we were three people placed in a basement room with a very tiny window and smelled of dampness. We complained of this and they changed us rooms to a different building across the street which was much better. It was bright. Had two big windows facing the street and and I will say that it was very clean. That move took a lot of negotiating. One thing you should be ready for is the steepness of the stairs and people quite loud in the streets overnight as there are bars right under the room on the corner. Frankly, for the money I paid for a 4-day stay I don't think this hotel is worth it. Everything else in Amsterdam was fantastic.

The room was in an annex at the top of an extremely narrow difficult stairwell. anyone with any mobility issues would never be able to manage to even get to the room. no mention was made of this.
The room had bugs, I killed a particularly large woodlouse upon arrival. I have been bitten on the arm. there was a kettle in the room but no facilities to make any drinks (no cups/tea/coffee) i asked at reception was told i could take stuff from there. I don't appreciate having to kit out my own room at £100 per night.
On Saturday and Sunday no new towels were provided. I found the laundry store and took what I needed. On Sunday the room wasn't attended to at all. The bed hadn't been made. I was overcharged \"Tax\" on arrival. My receipt said £55.17 to pay at the hotel on arrival, the receptionist charged 95 Euro, which equates to £80.28. £25 more than the receipt stated. I queried this and was refunded 11 Euro (£9.30) so I feel overcharged by £16. The hotel manager refused point blank to accept the maths from the receipt that you had provided.
The plastic bag dispenser fell off the bathroom wall on Saturday. No big deal but no one bothered to fix it, as no one attended the room on Sunday. all in all a shockingly poor experience and I will certainly never be using them again. A pity as the location was perfect for my needs

Be carful when booking the lady at the office charged me an extra 50€ for the city tax, than what was originally stated through Expedia. Also there are a bunch of Mosquitoes so I do not recommend opening the window. The location is located in the center with rings however I would not suggest booking here pay the and extra €100 for a nicer stay or they’ll just rip you off anyways

An Exploitative hotel

The hotel is very exploitive they charge you at any slightest opportunity. I went to the airport and left my card because I might not come back that day however next day is.my check out . When I came back they charge me extra 20 euro before I collect my key. They only change your linen weekly, instead of daily. Only soap is supplied not cream. Check in is 3pm while check out is 11am which is quite ridiculous.

the photos look nice, but are certainly not of the room I had, which was across the road in the ‘Townhouse Hotel’. Tired, tatty, and not particularly comfortable, with a rather gruff welcome. Particularly enjoyed the shout up the 3 flights of steep steps (not very friendly to anyone not happy on ladders) of ‘DID YOU FIND THE ROOM?!’ at 10pm when I arrived. Sorry to everyone in the other rooms…! Looks cheap for the area - it’s for a reason.

When I first arrived at the hotel we basically had to climb up a ladder with our luggage to our room. Once we made it into our room the bed was unmade and there was dirty towels all over the room and left open snacks. They moved us into a nicer room which was kind but the inconvenience remains. Also we're told if we wanted house keep to request it. We did not request it on purpose and they came into the room and moved our stuff which made me feel uncomfortable

Some of the staff are very friendly and helpful - others aren’t. The room was nice and clean although there isn’t any way to control the heat of your room. Signal is very bad in the room for wifi and satellite. Seems very dated eg the carpets and lights.

The hotel was disappointing in just about every aspect. The room had a strong odor of chemical cleaners in the bedroom area that was uncomfortable even with the window open. The bathroom had a smell a bit like a locker room. The shower was not functional and only offered a drizzle of water, so we had to do all washing using the sink. Walls are thin, so we could hear neighbors. The pillows were thick and lumpy and bent my neck at an uncomfortable angle since they offered no sinking action. I gave up trying to use it and switched to the neck pillow used on the flight over. Beds were narrow, but not a surprise since you could see that in the room photos. WiFi was slow even with simple things like looking up a map location.

If we had been there for anything more than a night on a layover, I would have called hotels.com to ask for a refund.

It worked for two nights. We booked to stay in the ITC but were sent to the Townhouse, which was not what was in the pics or the hotel I booked. The stairs were steep and small (I'm about 5'9\"). The room was just enough for a bed. There were three in our party and we made it work. I think I would book again since it was just to sleep and shower. But the price could be a little cheaper.

I’ve stayed at the ITC Hotel before. This time I was given a room in the Townhouse property. I have never experienced such levels of noise. The walls, floors and ceilings are so thin that it sounded like folks were in my room when having a normal conversation in their room. And as folks climb the steep stairs, it sounds like a troop marching up. I also had challenges with the level of servicing of the room. You have to request that your room be cleaned. The first time, the sheets weren’t changed. The second time they failed to leave bath towels in the room. It was a long 8 night stay. I won’t return to this property. While the price is attractive, I’ll spend a bit more for peaceful nights’ sleep and better service.

The front desk staff was really nice, friendly, and helpful. Thank you, you were amazing.
The room was kept very clean, the house cleaners came everyday. Clean sheets and towels.
The building is kind of old so it has a smell but that is understandable. Carpets are very stained and old but that really didn’t bother us, but just for you to know what to expect.
The internet was slow and on our last evening there was no internet at all.
The location was excellent, the tram was only steps away, the bars on the corner have good food. But Fridays it gets very busy and very loud until close to 4:00a.m.
This hotel property said that it is smoke free, but the tourists in the other rooms were smoking a lot of weed that you could smell it inside your room and hallways. We were very unhappy with that.
But overall everything was good.
