The staff were friendly and welcoming and gave us a free drink on arrival. The rooms were beautiful, with large bed and very nice bathroom with walk in shower. The hotel in general is of a high standard, as expected of a boutique store.

The room was spacious however the shower had no proper floor separation causing the water to flood the entire floor everytime we showered. Please do something about this.
The hotel was nicely located near city center so everything is walkable distance and tram nearby.
However the VIP Access Expedia experience wasn't great. There were no replacements for free sparkling wine for us. You could've easily give a welcome drink or something. And then comes the worst part. A welcome card was placed in our room indicating VIP access was given a complementary late check out. We asked the chat bot which said no and later reconfirmed with the receptionist in person which allowed us to have the free late checkout. Unfortunately on the day of the checkout we were called to get our bags out at the standard checkout timing. This made us upset and ruined our plans on the last day before we leave Amsterdam. Next time don't put confusing notes in guests rooms if you cannot accomodate it!

Didn't have the Breakfast package since it was an extra cost per day. The little problems I had with the room was the heating system since the weather was really cold it had trouble keeping the room warm enough at the beginning of my stay the weather warmed up above freezing and the system started to work better. In the shower the plumbing was hooked up backwards so the hot water was on the cold setting. The hotel should put a label on the trim because the hot water was really hot and if there was a label would have noticed faster. The magnetic keys for one of my friends i traveled with hers keep on locking her out must have happened 10 times for her and 4 times .There wasn't a mini fridge but there was a storm glass window paneling between the outside windows and there was enough room to keep bottled water or juices or even a few cans of soda cold . My group had trouble casting to the tv with there tablets . My device worked most of the time once i figured out my tablet had a different casting method. The bed and pillows were to my liking. Will definitely stay in this Albus hotel if I travel to Amsterdam again. I also had a One key Credit card which gave me a vip perk received a bottle of champagne also offered late check at no charge but had a early flight last day . The first day we came in really early would have been nice to swap for free early check in since wasn't using late check out. Other person in group paid 50 dollar fee for his room. Since it was around 9 am.

The room was very small. We had no hot water in our shower for the first three days of being at the hotel (they said this was due to a boiler issue). The cleaners room was right outside of our room and we were woken up by the cleaners talking very early each morning! When we spoke the staff we did not feel like they cared and just brushed us off. We won’t be staying there again!

The hotel itself was great, in a great area. The staff was polite and helpful, however, we arrived in Amsterdam early and asked if we could check in early but no rooms were available, so we walked around and came back at 3pm when they promised the room would be ready. We arrived a little earlier and they saw us. At 3pm no room was ready. When the room was ready, they didn’t even let us know. At 3:40 when I asked if it was ready, it magically was. You just let us sit there waiting

There was a bit of an issue when we checked in. We booked two Premier King rooms for three nights and asked for them on the same floor, but we ended up with different floors and the wrong room type. Luckily, Noelier at reception sorted everything out the next day. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

The hotel is in a great spot, right by the canal with easy access to public transport, shops, and restaurants. We had a lovely stay and will definitely come back next time we’re in Amsterdam.

This is truly a rare 5 star hotel. The facilities, services and location are all perfect. The staff are attentive, friendly and professional.

The rooms are comfortable and clean. It has hardwood floors which is very rare for a hotel. The hotel staff is the star of this place. They are prompt with requests through WhatsApp. It takes literally 1 second to get a response and 5 minutes for the delivery of anything you need. Hotel breakfast is wonderful with many choices. Mido made special tea for my husband who was under the weather. He brewed a pot of tea with ginger, lemon and honey.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who visits Amsterdam.

What truly set this hotel apart, though, was the level of service. Every staff member ( specially kima) I interacted with—from housekeeping to the concierge—was friendly, professional, and eager to help. They made is us truly valued as a guest.
I even forgot my hairdryer and they were very nice to call and inform me if I want them to ship for me.

The hotel is in a terrific location- easy walks to nearby restaurants and transportation to get around the city. The hotel has a great aesthetic- from the soft music playing to the decor- all are excellent. Rooms very clean are not lacking in any amenities. They are well equipped with everything you need to be comfortable. Finally, but most importantly are the amazing staff- they are all courteous, helpful, and are eager to make sure you are taken care of throughout your stay. I will definitely stay here again on our next trip.

Location is great and provides nice accommodation within walking or tram ride distance of many popular tourist destinations. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a simple bar and very nice restaurant although we did not use the breakfast buffet but opted for other local coffee shops nearby. Our only disappointment is the bathroom as we did not like the set-up or shower facitiities.

The location of the hotel is good. Walkable to central station and shops. The room is good sized. The staff is very friendly. The shower with a door less design makes impossible to keep water from flowing out. The tile floor is slippery when wet. The room doesn’t have enough lights. A little more table space would be nice.

The staff were excellent and very accomodating as my husband was sick and they provided endless tea bags. The location of the hotel is also excellent as you can walk everywhere. What I found disappointing was the breakfast which we paid for. The dishes that were supposed to be hot were not. They were sitting under lights which really didn't keep them hot. Also, there is very little surface space in the room to put items so they're readily accessible. The floor lamp in the room didn't work and therefore the lighting was very dark especially during the evening. Finally, I had a lot of trouble connecting to wifi whether in the room or in the lobby. I seemed to be getting kicked out constatnly but that could have been my computer.

Excellent front desk staff! They went above and beyond to be helpful. Taxi/Uber can not stop in the front, so need to wheel luggage about half a block. The front desk staff will assist if needed. Good location. I believe there was a laundry next door. But in general ,Amsterdam is very walkable. Breakast was very good with many choices. Eggs made to order. The room was average size for Europe. Not much storage space except the closet. Bed was comfortable, but not the pillows. Fortunately, I bring my own. USB/USB-C ports at bedside. Bathroom was a little odd as there is no light switch. The light works on a motion sensor and turns off after ~ 5min. Also, need to be careful with the hand held as you could flood the bathroom. They actually kept a large sqeegee in the bathroom. Asked for a rubber mat, as shower floor could be slippery. They probably should use soap dispensers rather than small bottles. There was an issue with a missing knob in the shower which was addressed the next day. A/C worked ok. Spoke to another couple who said their unit did not cool well. There is an elevator, but sometimes faster to take the steps. Overall, would recommend.

We enjoyed our stay in Amsterdam. The Albus was located right between two very active Kings Day locations and easy walk to many others. Even though you could hear the partying with your windows open, once they were closed it was as if you were there on a quiet day. The hotel did offer of token for a drink if you reduced cleaning services, but never actually provided the token. However, if you asked, they were very accommodating. Staff was very upbeat and helpful.

Good once you manage to park

I usually will only do a review if I am very negative or positive about a place. This is a rare instance in which I am both. Information for this place says street parking is \"available.\" This is clearly untrue. There is no place to pull in with a car, unload bags and check-in, then park. The only parking is a hard-to-spot lot a half mile or so away. I never would have known this, or been able to find the lot, if not for Daniel, who went way out of his way to help me find the lot. I am a veteran traveler and this was the worst check in experience ever. The hotel managemen needs to be honest about the parking situation and give pinpoint directions to the lot. One in the hotel, I enjoyed it. Room is small but cozy and stylish. The bed and pillows very good and shower oustanding.

Good location but a bit of a stretch to call it a four star. Rooms have no mini bar/ refrigerator, linens are changed every third day, on the fourth day we asked for our linens to be changed and our room cleaner said they weren’t due to be changed. I knew they were but let it go. However, on our fifth day, we had to send a message to housekeeping to request to have our linens changed. Coffee bar was not refreshed on a regular basis. Had to also ask for that. No ice buckets in the room, they are at a common area on the main floor, have no idea if they are cleaned in between different people using them. Elevator was not working 2 days that we were and this required walking up the stairs to the 6th floor. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful/ attentive. Free coffee and water in the lobby. Rooms were rather dingy, extremely small window and very plain in decor. No pictures on the wall.

The hotel is in a fantastic location, making it a great base for exploring Amsterdam. While the rooms are on the smaller side, they are comfortable—and let’s be honest, with such an amazing city to discover, you don’t spend much time in the room anyway.

However, the service was a bit underwhelming. On one occasion, our room wasn’t serviced, and when it was, essentials like shower gel and coffee weren’t restocked. Unfortunately, mentioning this to reception didn’t resolve the issue. A little more attention to detail would improve the overall experience.

On a personal note, I found the pillows uncomfortably large. I requested a smaller one each morning, but it never arrived, so I ended up sleeping on a rolled-up towel. A simple fix that would have made a big difference.

Spent a day in Amsterdam for the Super Bowl, while visiting France. Hotel Albus was perfect! Everyone is friendly and fluent in English. We made plans to go to Cocoa’s Outback Sports Bar to watch the game. The hotel is centrally located to this establishment as well as many others.

I highly recommend this hotel.

You can’t unload in front of the hotel so there’s a bit of walk to the side street with luggage. First room smelled like smoke and the staff were accommodating and put us in a different room.
Shower pressure was low and cleaning could’ve been better inside the room for a 4-star hotel. The location is amazing and walkable to everything. That makes it worth it in my opinion.

We really enjoyed our stay here! We booked an apartment and it was fabulous. I made sure that this hotel had an elevator which it did but then when we arrived the apartments had steep stairs to them! We managed ok thankfully we had help with our luggage or it would have been difficult. Apartment is spacious. Bathroom is lovely. Washer and dryer in the kitchen was the reason we booked this which worked fine. Area was great I had no idea I picked such a walkable area! If you don’t know it’s so very close to the floating flower market! I’d recommend staying here as we’d stay there again in a heartbeat!
