The perfect location for central Amsterdam. Everywhere was within 15-20 minute walk. This row of 17th century houses was one of the focal points on the canal boat tour that we went on (Captain Jacks - highly recommend!).
The family room was perfect for our stay. The beds are very comfortable. The hotel is a couple of doors from the Irish bar and very close to a vibrant area for nightlife so it can be a little noisy at night. The room was next to the cellars of the bars so it was noisy in the morning too. Take ear plugs as others have recommended.
The only thing I would change would be the smell of the room. It smelt of old cigarettes which we really didn't like. I reported it to the receptionist but I guess it is a smell that would be hard to remove.

Great location, beautiful city views (my room overlooked the river). My colleague was awoken at 4am by some partygoers in a nearby room but not the hotel’s fault although would have been nice to have some on site assistance to get them to stop playing music).

As long as you’re nimble (beware the staircases), this place is great! Very clean and quiet. Additionally it’s close to most museums and attractions. Never had to walk more than 20 minutes to a destination.

Great location and friendly staff but room access is only by extremely steep and very narrow stairs that are more like ladders than stairs. I would not recommend this for any seniors, anyone with large luggage or with mobility problems.

If you like old properties, this is the one. No lifts(elevators) the stairs are narrow and steep. For me, it gives it its charm. There is no AC but a fan is provided and the windows do open. At least for us up in the penthouse :)

This hotel is one of the 'dancing houses' of Amsterdam, so you get to stay in one of the most iconic scenes in Holland! On top of that the hotel is nice and clean. The stairs are the 'Dutch death stairs' which means they are very steep with small landings for your feet, so be ready for a focused ascent/descent to and from your room; to me it was part of the charm, but it could be more than a challenge for others. Everything was a 20min walk from the hotel so I loved just strolling around Amsterdam taking it all in.

Small bathroom with small shower and sink, and the only toiletries were hair/body wash in plastic packets plus a dispenser in the shower. Nespresso style coffee maker in room with a few pods, but no milk. Hardly any reception area, with no seating.
Location was fine, and our room looked out onto a canal, but we had to keep the windows closed to sleep due to the loud music from a festival going on. There's no AC, but we used the fan provided. In a heat wave, it would be uncomfortable.

I absolutely loved this hotel. It isn't for everyone, but it was perfect for us. I requested a room on the ground level and got the one I wanted right at the front of the building. The only stairs I had to navigate were exterior, leading to the front door. The interior stairs look intimidating (narrow, steep, and curved), but lucky for me we didn't have to use them. Our room had windows that looked out on the canal, so we were able to enjoy the sights and sounds of Amsterdam in spring. Lots of restaurants and metro options just around the corner. Will definitely stay here again.

The hotel itself is quite nice. Interesting building and right on a main canal. The room was fine; basic but clean. Staff was lovely and very helpful! The location wasn't our favorite. It is a convenient walk to most tourist locations and other areas, but there is a high concentration of \"coffeeshops\" (dispensaries) right along that road and we found the area to be pretty dirty & we tired of the constant smell from the \"coffeeshops\".

This hotel is exploding with charm! The staff warmly greeted us and said hello during our times going in and out of the hotel. Being in one of the “dancing houses” of Amsterdam was a real trip. The furniture could use a refresh and we recommend better toiletry amenities, but the beds/sheets were clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!

Very steep stairs without help to bring bags up or down..ended up takin only overnight bags upstairs. Olga was very nice but for some reason was unable to call airport re baggage peoblem when i was having difficulty with my phone..other than that curious issue she was very nice and helpful..definitely sympathetic about my baggage snarl..she called cabs..gave directions and suggestions about area to visit..the room wasnice and we had no problem with street noise.

No problems with the hotel or staff. The hotel is so popular with boat trips that there is a constant stream of boats turning outside the hotel and taking photos so you have no privacy if you are sat by the window.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Amsteizicht. It was a last-minute booking for us, so pickings were slim, but we were pleasantly surprised with the hotel and excited to stay in a period Amsterdam building in the heart of the city. The location was great and we walked everywhere. The room had plenty of space for 3 adults to sleep (a couple with adult child). The staircase is quite steep, so not sure how someone with mobility issues would do here. I didn't see an elevator on the property.

We had issues with WiFi in our room, but noticed when we went into the hallway we had full bars, so must depend where your room is located. We did a canal cruise, and the tour guide coincidently pointed out Hotel Amsteizicht as an example of a typical leaning building in Amsterdam. Kind of exciting to have our hotel pointed out. We had a car with us, and parking was handled by an external company which took our car and parked it off site. It was 35 Euros for one day and 40 Euros for the second day. Not cheap, but it is what it is. I would recommend Hotel Amsteizicht if you're looking for an historically old building in the heart of Amsterdam with an authentic lean. It worked out great for us.

We had a car with us, and parking was handled by an external company which took our car and parked it off site. It was 35 Euros for one day and 40 Euros for the second day. Not cheap, but it is what it is. I would recommend Hotel Amsteizicht if you're looking for an historically old building in the heart of Amsterdam with an authentic lean. It worked out great for us.

The hotel room was tiny, literally not even room to set down and open a suitcase. The room was barely larger than the bed. So if you're looking for any kind of comfort in the hotel room, this is not the place, particularly considering the price. Service people were helpful.

The staff at the hotel were wonderful. I came down with Covid while in Amsterdam, and the hotel staff were amazing. They let me continue to isolate there until I was cleared to leave, and also made sure that their other other guests were kept safe. The hotel is in a great area, right near Rembrandt Plein and is comfortable with many places to eat and drink nearby.

Very good location. Its a cute small hotel, the entrance /lobby is very nice. the building is very old so this is why the stairs are so steep. The rooms are a bit dated inc bathroom. Also if your room is facing the back its very noisy. The back has the back of a bar there so there were slamming of doors and bottles being thrown in the trash which was really loud and constant till like 2 at night. So if you are a light sleeper ask for the river view.

My brother and I spent three days in Amsterdam. The hotel has a great location, very near the Rembrandt Plein and right on the Amstel, with a classic view of a canonical city scene. The hotel is a remodeled 340-year-old townhouse. There is no kitchen or dining space, and no breafkfast is included. There is no elevator and the stairs are steep!! But it has a great deal of charm, the staff were all wonderful, and it is perfectly comfortable at a very affordable price. There was some construction under way when we were there--a bit of noise during the day, scraping and painting window frames--but that was no problem. Americans who are used to wash cloths and/or a box of kleenex in the bathroom might be advised, those are not provided here. Despite that this is a place I would recommend and stay at again.

We had a great stay at this hotel. The only downfall I had was the room was in the basement and regardless of it being clean it felt very enclosed. The window we had was right at the street hence we couldn’t open it. I wish we had more of a view. But the room was clean and had 4 beds (2beds were far from main bed) that we wanted which gave us privacy. Location was amazing. Staff was wonderful. Hopefully you can get a room in the top floors but regardless you should book here!!

Beautiful historic building with awesome view and in the middle of the action (but quiet). We had the best room (I sense only a few of the rooms actually face the canal as ours did). No food or beverage on site but many options close by. Beware: No elevator and the stairs up to the room (we were on the fourth/top floor) were very steep, curved and each \"step\" itself was far smaller than what you normally see, and there is no elevator so you have to get your luggage upstairs. This hotel is in an ancient (1650 approximately) building with no elevator and steep stairs. The staff was very helpful in getting our bags upstairs. The was construction going on just outside so it was noisy and a bit of a mess in front but that was temporary and I am sure it will be done soon. The weather was unseasonably hot and there was no AC but the staff found an extra fan for the second night we were there and it was not so bad. The location is excellent, the room was very nice with a fantastic view of the canal and town just outside. Overall however it was a bit too expensive for what it was. Compare and you will likely find something better for the same price.

I returned yesterday from a weekend trip in Amsterdam as a surprise for my boyfriends birthday. The hotel was fantastic! We didn’t need anything big or flashy as we knew we’d spend most of it wondering the city! The hotel is well kept and staff on arrival were friendly. We were able to keep our bags secure in the hotel office before our check in. We were situated in the top room of the hotel, the stairs are steep but were not an issue in any way (I read a few negative reviews about this, but I can’t see the problem, this is a NORMAL characteristic feature of Amsterdam homes!). The bed was GORGEOUS, so comfortable and the room was clean. The hotel doesn’t provide breakfast but again this isn’t an issue, get out an explore the city for food, there are thousands of places to eat. GREAT location, a few minutes walk to the red Light District and only around 15 minutes walk to the station. Had a great time!!!
