Well located hotel, handy for getting to anywhere in Amsterdam. The room was nice and cosy - ideal for a solo or couples trip. The lobby and corridors were quite tired and dated - felt like the whole place could do with a refresh.

The room was clean. Even though it was small, which I expected since it was for solo travelers, it had everything one needed. However, since the rooms are in such close proximity to each other, you can often hear people in the hallway. I remember being woken up one night by noise outside my room. It was also a bit cold since there was no heater. Other than that, my stay was good.

We had a wonderful stay at the NH Schiller. The hotel had everything we needed, and our room offered a fantastic view of the city.

The room was spotless, comfortable, and excellent value for money, especially given the central location and easy access to all areas of town.

Reception staff were extremely helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable.

If I return to Amsterdam in the future, I would certainly consider staying here again.

This place hits all the marks for a big city hotel for this 68- year old traveler with sore knees. Central location, trams right across the street, huge room by European standards (and super quiet in the back) and an elevator that works every time. Staff was unfailingly cheerful. Twin beds pushed together were a little hard for me but it’s a minor complaint. I’d go back anytime.

Only downside: rooms facing the square seem to have no soundproofing; Irish drinking songs every night to 4 a.m. led to little sleep. Ask for a back room.

We stayed here a whole week and would happily recommend it. The hotel staff were great: professional and friendly. Breakfast is a buffet of hot food (scrambled eggs, beans, sausages, baked tomatoes) and cold food like cheeses, cold meats and salads. Our room was large, spacious, and came with a small coffee machine. The bathroom was very clean, the shower unit was spacious, the water was always hot and strong. The room overlooked one of the main squares in the city, hence a great location with dozens of restaurants to choose from, but also it was noisy typically until 5am. They provide earplugs if you want, or we player white noise on our phone which did the trick. If you forego room cleaning, they give you a free drink at the bar, where you can sit out overlooking the square. But the bar closes early at 10pm.

Well located with a tram stop just outside the door that goes to Central Station and Dam Square. Amazing selection of restaurants in the immediate area. Cozy bar with a lovely bartender named Lauren. Bathroom was modern with terrific water pressure and loads of hot water. Would definitely recommend this property.

Room service was terrible. We would leave the hotel between 7-8am each morning and return around 4-5pm and our room still had not been cleaned. They offered us 2 drink coupons, which could only be used for a house wine and few types of beer.. the restaurant that was previously part of the hotel had closed and no food service was available.

Great location. Easy public transportation right in front of the hotel. Buzzling dining & shopping options in the surrounding area.
The room itself is very clean and well laid out for its small size. Our bed mattresses are firm and comfortable. We have absolutely no trouble falling asleep on our first night.
Bathroom is spacious and well supplied. We opt out of daily room service and get drink coupons instead. The front desk also supplies one free water bottle per day.
Helpful staff at both front desk and dining area. We arrived 1 hour early and they still let me check in our room.
We will definitely return to this place.

Avoid.Booked 6 months ahead and was given a dungeon room at the back of the hotel. Lift to1st floor then down 2 flights of stairs with luggage in tow. Dark cold room with TWIN beds. I booked a double. Went to front desk and asked for a double in a room with natural light (like on the website). Gave me another room but key didn't work twice. Also took dungeon room key from me before I could take my belongings. 2 couples (friends) who booked after me had rooms upper floors with coffee machines (I didnt have one). At checkout mentioned experience. Girl said 'oh no' when I mentioned the 1st room. Is it because I'm a solo traveller and we don't rate/matter? Farcical!

We where upgraded to NH Collection Flower Market and the stay was great. Hotel location is central and easy accessible, just by the flower market. NH Schiller is just 5 minutes walk, on Rembrant square and both hotels have good and central locations. Central and quite busy and touristy areas.
As we were told, NH flower market is higher level hotel, we can compare receptions and you can see it. We had room without the view, it was quite room, room size and bathroom size are both great for Amsterdam.
Overall we are very happy with the stay and sending out gratitude to NH Team❤️

The rest of the trip they brought us fresh towels and coffee etc...The area became noisey at night it was next to a lot of bars. The hotel provides ear plugs .

I had a fantastic stay at NH Amsterdam Schiller! I was visiting solo and felt very safe throughout my trip. The hotel’s location is perfect—right in the heart of the city, close to many attractions, restaurants, and public transportation, making it super convenient to explore.

The staff went above and beyond to make my stay special. They surprised me with champagne and cookies for my birthday, which was such a thoughtful touch! My room was lovely, and I especially enjoyed the beautiful view from my window.

Overall, I highly recommend NH Amsterdam Schiller for its excellent service, prime location, and welcoming atmosphere. I would definitely stay here again!

The property could not really be better situated for access by walk or public transport to all attractions, shopping and eateries. The staff are pleasant and helpful though I did not have to call on them for anything.
My room was well equipped, clean and well-serviced- though even with the radiators on, sometimes fell cold. The room was a little small , true bed being too close to the wardrobe preventing the doors being fully opened and making access awkward ( the safe is also in the wardrobe so same applies). The bathroom almost as big as the bed space, had an excellent walk in shower with very good soaps etc.
I would strongly recommend staying here

This hotel is in a great location, close to restaurants and also tram stops to get to other areas of town. It was a popular area without feeling overly-crowded. We stayed in a room on the back of the hotel on an upper floor not facing the square, which I think may have helped ensure a quiet stay, which we appreciated.

Only issue we had was a 1st floor room right above cafes that had loud music playing every night from just before midnight to about 3am. The hotel actually provided earplugs in a sleep kit. I’d stay again, but on a higher floor.

The property is okay. The area is noisy, unsafe, drugs everywhere and dirty. Amsterdam has become run down and I would not recommend it to tourists. Drugs, noise, dirt and sex everywhere you go. In your face constantly. The city is very expensive. The council does not bother with flowers or gardens anymore. They dont clean the streets either. Prices of everything is inflated. Non Dutch speakers are overcharged. Just a horrible place to be. Unless you're looking to get drunk, high on drugs and have sex with prostitutes whilst stumbling over rubbish through unsafe streets back to an overpriced hotel room. Not recommended.

This was our first visit to Amsterdam and it was only for a 4 night stay on our to Spain. We searched for a hotel that was central to the city, as well as close (walking distance) to sites and locations we were interested in ... the Schiller fit the bill!

The hotel and staff were great and very helpful as we needed transportation to the airport and some hints on where to dine and drink. Take advantage of the great food and drink at the hotel restaurant connected to the hotel lobby.

Yes, the hotel is in close proximity to an all night music/dance club, so if you're a light sleeper, then take that into consideration. Personally, this did not bother us and we understand areas of nightlife.

Great restaurants located all around and some amazing bars to have drinks, including the Smokey Coffee Shop.

If you enjoy a vibrant night life with great accommodations, close (walking distance) to many great tourist areas of Amsterdam then, I highly suggest the NH Amsterdam Schiller.
