A slice of paradise
This was an amazing stay at Hotel Dwars!! The staff was over the top friendly and helpful with places around the area. Even when we checked out, they offered to hold our luggage in a secure room so we could enjoy the final day and come back later to pick it up!! I will stay here again, no regrets at all!!!!

My mum and I visited the Hotel Dwars for mum's 50th birthday and we had an absolutely fantastic stay. The staff were friendly and helpful from the off; sending directions and offering assistance if necessary. When we arrived the staff had decorated the room for mum's birthday with balloons, banners, confetti and a lovely big bar of chocolate. All staff members were lovely and the location was perfect; close to a tram line but far enough from the city centre for it to be peaceful. The room was clean and had everything you could require. The beds were comfortable and the shower was big and roomy. I would recommend the Hotel Dwars to anybody :)

We had a fabulous stay at the Dwars Hotel. its a quirky unique hotel with an amazing receptionist Teresa who was just brilliant and a pleasure to deal with. we had the lovely surprise of the room being decorated for a birthday surprise and we can fault nothing about our stay. the bar at the end of the road did a fab breakfast and was fun at night.

Had an absolutely amazing stay! We stayed in room 9 which is on 4th floor, a lot of steps but definitely worth it for the room! Staff were lovely and even decorated our room from my friends birthday! Would definitely recommend ordering the cheesecake too! Wouldn’t fault anything about our stay. Only thing I would suggest is an extra mirror in the room, as 4 girls getting ready using one mirror was only down fall.

Hotel Dwars is perfectly located, really convenient to the tram in to town and to Albert Cuyptmarkt and Heineken. We stayed in the small, front room and it was just as described: small and on street level. There was some street noise but nothing more than a typical night in any major city and ear plugs were provided. Staff left notes each day with suggestions and were really helpful! If on a budget and only in the room for sleeping, it’s fine and was a good base for us. I’d definitely stay again!

Hotel Dwars and the staff were great! Our room was very small, but we knew that ahead of time (hey, you don't go to Amsterdam to stay in the room). Staff had great recommendations for food, bikes, transportation, etc. The hotel is situated so that you can walk to most places. If you choose to bike, rental shops are very close as well.

Hotel was in a prime location for exploring Amsterdam and was beautifully decorated and modern. The one downside is the noise from the street, as windows rather thin and street is rather busy.

This is a small hotel, only 9 rooms but had everything we needed. The location is great, close to metro and a tram stop around the corner. Very close to bars and restaurants and we really enjoyed our stay here. Bettina was so helpful when we needed our boarding passes printed and she gave us a lot of local information. Would definitely stay again.

Hotel is in great location. Easy 15-20 mins walk to any of major sights. This is a small 9 room hotel. We stayed on the ground floor which I believe has the smallest room (I think our inside cabin on the cruise ship was larger) but is more convenient for luggage. Room was very clean and well maintained. Staff were amazing. Very friendly and helpful with recommendations.

Cosy Nest in Amsterdam
It was a pleasant stay, we stayed a few nights in Amsterdam. Very convenient location close to the tram stop that will take you to Central. Good restaurants nearby as well, check in was very easy despite being different to a normal hotel, the staff were very friendly. The rooms were warm and cosy, a bit on the smaller side. The room also doesn't come with a fridge (for those who may enjoy keeping drinks in their hotel room).

We booked the hotel for 2 nights and had a room for 3 people (My husband and I and 14 year old daughter). The hotel is very small and quirky but the staff were extremely helpful. There is no main reception or any dining facilities for breakfast etc, but that didn't matter to us as we arranged our arrival time and there was someone there to greet us. We preferred to go and eat at cafes and restaurants of which there are plenty nearby. Our room was cosy but perfectly comfortable, nice furnishings and decoration and perfect for what we needed for a short city break. The beds were comfy, the linen clean and the small bathroom was clean and well equipped. Would definitely recommend.

Hotel Dwars is in an easy to access area with restaurants and night life. A quick train and tram ride will get you there from the airport. The place itself is an old house situated on a side street in between the many hotels. Staff are extremely helpful though it is not manned 24 hours. Rooms are small but adequate. We stayed on the ground floor to avoid having to take bags upstairs which could be a challenge. It can get noisy at night due to the night life but not a huge problem. Wonderful stay.

A Perfect Hidden Hotel
Perfect little spot just outside the main center. After staying in the heart of the center for a few days prior, Hotel Dwars was a perfect change of pace. Clean, modern, quite, and very relaxing. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others!! The tram is right outside so getting around is very easy.

This was our first visit as a family to Amsterdam and the Hotel Dwars was part of our complete enjoyment of the city for our family of three.
If you take the time to look at a map of Amsterdam prior to your arrival it is an easy place to find; we took Tram 4 from Centraal Station (getting off at Prinsengracht) and it is a two minute walk from there.
We stayed in room 03, on the first floor (one above street level for North Americans) on the front of the hotel. We received an email with a lot of detail prior to our stay and to arrange welcoming upon arrival. All went smoothly and check in was simple and quick with some local knowledge and a map of Amsterdam reviewed to point out some of the main attractions to visit.
The room itself was more than adequate for our group with comfortable beds and a great bathroom and shower as well. If I had one concern, on warm summer nights you must sleep with the window open due to the warmth of the hotel (no a/c), and on Wed-Thu-Fri evening the pub at the corner gets pretty loud. It resulted in us closing the window at the last minute to go to sleep and then waking up later in the night to reopen and bring temperature back down. Not a major concern but worth noting perhaps.
Very environmentally conscious and in a location that allows easy access by foot to the vast majority of what the City has to offer - 30 minute maximum to Dam Square, Anne Frank, Van Gogh, Mike's Bike Tours, boat tours etc.

Great location near 3 tram lines, but equally easy to walk. Near some great cafés and eateries. Quiet side street. Lovely customer service team. Rooms were well-furnished and quirky. Only downside was no lift/elevator.

Lovely little hotel down a nice quiet street but just off a convenient tram route. It's a small hotel and the room sizes are quite small as a result but they have every convenience and ours was very comfortable. The area has lots of restaurants and bars and is only a couple of minutes walk from Rembrandtplein in the centre of town. The hotel could not have been friendlier or more helpful. As a reasonably priced hotel near the centre this could not have been better.

Very nice little hotel. No breakfast or reception around the clock, but friendly and helpful staf. Great location in Amsterdam inner city canal area, loads of restaurants for breakfast/lunch/drinks/dinner nearby and short walking distance to all major places to be. Clean and nicely decorated room, good beds. Steep and narrow chairs as is typical for traditional Dutch houses. I could well return on my mext trip.

Room was very nice, bed comfy and bathroom clean. Décor is modern but it is an old building so noise (footsteps) from the room above and the stairs was a bit loud at times. Great location on a quiet street in the canal ring with some nice bars and restaurants close by. Room had a small espresso machine too, which was nice. I would stay at this hotel again.

Enchanting Amsterdam Boutique Hotel
This was a wonderful gem of a hotel in a perfectly situated neighborhood! Our room which consisted of two bedrooms on the top floor was enchanting. But there is no elevator and so should you book this top floor room, please note that that there are many narrow stairs to climb. While the hotel staff is not there all of the time, they are very nice and communicate with you to ensure that they will be there upon a guest's arrival. I would definitely recommend this boutique hotel and I would, likewise, Stat here again.

Beautiful decor, super comfy bed, very clean and comfortable hotel in the centre of Amsterdam. Great location, we walked everywhere within 20 minutes, it's close to everything yet the area is not too busy or loud. Loads of trendy cafes and restaurants in the area, check out their recommendation list, also the staff are very helpful and informative. Beautiful patisserie (Kuyt) a 2 minute walk away. Loved our stay!

Small little hotel in Amsterdam
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were excellent went out of their way to be helpful and suggested many great things to do places to eat and sites to see. The rooms were clean comfortable. The only exception would be we were near the top floor and it was quite warm. The hotel staff provided a fan which was helpful but the room was still warm. Overall I think this is a great hotel in a great location of the city with great staff and amenities and we would stay there again

Nice Accommodations in Amsterdam
This was our last stop after visiting London and Paris and it was such a nice surprise! Very nice accommodations with comfortable beds and pillows. Comparatively speaking, this room was the best room we stayed in during our European trip.
We had the penthouse which was up 4 flights of narrow twisting stairs, so for certain individuals and families, it may not work as well.
The locations was central to all of the must see attractions in Amsterdam. There are plenty of restaurants within a short walk and the tram stop is very close as well.
