Breakfast was decent - not the biggest of breakfast rooms but we had no issues. Choice of hot and cold items.
Courtesy drinks were very welcome - both alcoholic and soft drinks. Renovations were on going at the time of our stay - it didn’t impact on us other than the lift was out of action. Stairs were steep up to 3rd floor but manageable.
Staff were very welcoming and knew their stuff. The QR code on the map supplied gave us discounts off a lovely canal cruise.

The property is quite old and the rooms would surely enjoy a refurbishment. The carpet and the wallpaper is a little vintage, and I heard ome of my colleagues didn't have a window in their room. A little odd.

However...

I found the rooms clean. The staff was very nice and supportive all the time. The complimentary snacks and drinks in the lobby were a nice plus. Breakfast was very complete and delicious. The hotel is a 15 minute walk away from the city center but the location is calm. Overall, I had a great stay and a great night rest after long days at a conference.ç

This is the worse hotel I have ever stayed at by far. I would give it no stars if I could. The heating was not working in the room, power keeps on flicking on and off, it must be serious electrical problems. The hot water system failed. This is at the end of December, are you sure you are not trying to make people sick? This whole building needs some serious renovation. Floor is tilted, electrical safety problems could be disastrous. No power, no heating and no hot water in the middle of winter. Don’t risk your life staying at this so called hotel. By the way, there is completely no heating in the bathroom, you will have to shower in the freezing cold, however in this case we couldn’t shower at all.

origanal room was a fire hazard, they had removed the handle to the ground floor patio door so no alternative escape route, had to pay another 80 euros for an upgrade, that room the door to the room was never secure, you could just push the door open without the swipe card, fridge not working. never again

Update the booking process to make it more obvious that basement rooms have no windows. Ensure that guests do not party in their rooms until 02:00 in the night. Fix broken fittings and make sure that any leaks in roofs are professionally remedied so that guests don’t wake up with water dripping onto them in the middle of the night! The hotel is in major need of modernisation and this work should be done sooner rather than later!

The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was quite small with nowhere to sit except on bed. TV didn't work during our stay. The area is interesting, close to canals etc and well served by trams. Easy to get to Central Station. We also enjoyed sitting in the foyer area and the hospitality on offer there (drinks, snacks)

Pros:
Location is good - close to many food options (restaurants, cafes), and across from a supermarket. There's a tram stop right outside serviced by helpful lines making it easy to get to attractions. The reception and restaurant staff are fantastic - very friendly and helpful. In the lobby there is water, lemonade, tea and snacks, as well as a fridge stocked with beer, Coke, Fanta and sparkling water - all free.

The cons:
We had a 2-King room. In order for there to be room for the beds the bathroom is absolutely tiny. You literally can't sit facing forward on the toilet because it's right up agains the sink, so you have to ride sidesaddle, which at the risk of TMI makes the whole operation a struggle, especially wiping, unless you're a contortionist. The water pressure in the shower is barely enough to rinse off soap, let alone conditioner, and it is impossible to get consistent temperature so expect to alternate between scalding and tepid as you keep adjusting the knobs every time it changes. I'm not exaggerating. The room has some strange \"decorations\". For example a towel radiator that is not meant to work, and a phone that connects to nothing. We confirmed these are just for show. The phone especially is puzzling. If you want to contact the front desk, you literally have to go there physically, or WhatsApp the automated system. Apparently we also overpaid- the person at the desk was surprised our rate was so high, especially since it didn't include breakfast.

Very average hotel, check the room you have booked because they have given me a lower category room that I have booked through Expedia, luckily I complained and they moved myself to the other I had originally booked. Another thing is the booking of the housekeeper 24hrs prior the cleaning, which it doesn’t make any sense. I wouldn’t book it and recommend this hotel.

A nice little hotel in a convenient location, but has plumbing issues. We had no hot water in the shower for the duration of our 2 night stay. When we notified the hotel staff, they said that it happens and asked us to try again later. Alas, nothing really changed. It was only a short stay, so it wasn’t worth making a fuss over, but we would not stay there again.

Our check in took exceptionally long ~40 minutes, then when we got to our room the shower head was disconnected from the hose and the safe was not in working condition. We went to the front desk about the shower but it took them until the next afternoon to fix it. Then on our check out day the power went out for ~30 minutes and we were not made aware this would happen although when we asked the front desk said they were doing planned outages to check the electricity. Overall the staff seemed to try their best but many things were not in working order. It was all clean but fairly cramped.

This was our first trip to Amsterdam. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Gave us lots of advice about trams, markets ect and even a map to help us get around. The breakfast is very good. The rooms were comfortable and the hotel itself is a short walk from a large market and the Reiks museum. Its also near lots of restaurants so I think it's in a good location. The desk staff were brilliant, thank you for helping us!

My family and I did not enjoy our stay at this property. Firstly, we checked in online house before, their website said we would only need to be ID and given the room key upon arrival. This was not the case, as we had to wait and go through the normal checkin process.

The three rooms we occupied exhibited the smell of smoke, the bathroom in my room very very untidy. The black and white floor was very untidy and smell of urine which was unbearable.

I sort help from the front desk person who told me house keeping had already left and that he could not leave the front desk.

Other than this challenge, we enjoyed all of the places we visited in Amsterdam.

A really nice little hotel. It’s further out from the centre but the area is very nice with plenty of coffee shops, restaurants and bakeries, plus you can get the tram to Dam square from the corner.

My only criticism is the breakfast as there was no vegan options for milk, yoghurt. And very little fresh, chopped fruit. The breakfast is mostly meat and dairy. But the coffee was nice!

Good transport from Centraal station on tram 4. The room was noisy at nighttime and you could hear a lot during the day. Could hear people walking by the room and talking in the hallway very clearly and when we stood outside the room you could hear our tv clearly too. Tram and traffic noise outside was expected and didn’t keep us up at night but was quite loud at times. Stayed on a ground floor room right next door to reception. Nice size fridge and tv in room. Shower was nice. Room was warm with a little radiator that was plenty enough. Coffee machine was good. Found a few strange bugs in the room, one on the bed and one on the floor. Cleanliness was okay, nothing special.

Our stay at the Hotel Atlantis was poor. If your just looking for a room on the edge if amsterdam and bring some earplugs it's perfect. The room is nice, its moderns, comfortable and with a lick if paint would be great but the stay and experience is a different story. Day 1 and 2 we were woken at 8 or 9am by shouting and threats the call the police because a customer had overstayed and wouldn't pay. Day 3 we were woken by I'm guessing the cleaners who have there office/storage right outside our room do they were in and out moving and banging at about 9 or 10am. 3 of the 4 receptionists we encountered during our stay were not the friendlies. Im not sure if this was a one off or if this is how things are here but i dont think we'll be back.

Tired looking hotel and our room smelt of urine

Firstly the staff at this hotel were so friendly and helpful but unfortunately the hotel itself needs some work. Our room had tissue wrapped round old pipes that were sticking out of the bathroom wall, to stop you catching your ankles on them. The wallpaper was peeling off the wall and there was a constant smell or urine in our bathroom and the corner of the bedroom. Vile and very off putting. The bedroom was also tiny and I could barely squeeze round to get to my side of the bed. Also we couldn't full shut our curtains as the corner of the room when into a triangular point and you couldn't pull the curtains into it so we always had light coming in from outside.

Nice place with excellent location

The location is close to De Pijp area and the bus that will take you around town and central station. There's also little grocery markets close by. The room was small by USA standards, but fine for there. We also had a little balcony that was nice to have coffee in the mornings. The A/C was also welcome since it was rather hot then.The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We would stay there again. We didn't have breakfast there, but there's a bakery nearby.

The only pleasant part of the stay was the breakfast and most of the staff were polite. The room smelled musty and unclean, the hotel reception was really hot and so was the hotel room. I was placed on the ground floor, therefore it was a security risk to open the window at night. Our window also had a broken handle which looked like it was about to fall off when moved.
Directly outside our room was a table and chairs. People would sit outside our room at night and during the day smoking. We had no privacy and the sound of people talking and shouting all night kept me awake and I felt very insecure.
My partner spoke to the man on reception about the hot room issue and the fact it is unsafe to keep the window open all night in a city, the man told us we would not be able to move to an upstairs room as we had paid for a cheaper one downstairs, and he said that it is safe to keep the window open..
The room did include a small fan which we had to resort to putting on throughout the night due to the heat. This helped a bit but the fan was noisy and smelt unclean/dusty. It was a hybrid cold fan and heater and so it smelt burnt.
There was also a bit of blood on my pillow, which alarmed me and made me wonder whether the sheets were being washed after the previous hotel guests.
The room was also incredibly small and dark.

The hotel is decent and has all you need for a decent stay. It is near everything and has a nice commercial area nearby. My favourite thing about the hotel was the breakfast and the kindness of the stuff.

The rooms are good and the hotel should consider putting air conditioning as it gets really hot in the rooms during the summer months. The little fun provided isn’t enough to have a “fresh” sleep at night and some rooms don’t even have windows to keep the air moving.

Great location and friendly staff. It’s an old building and in Amsterdam so of course it’s a small room and the building has its quirks. For the price and location it’s hard to beat tho. Paying the few extra dollars for the patio was a good choice as it became our lounge area. Street side balconies are just large enough for two small chairs. The patios in the rear courtyard are a tad larger so if you want larger request a back room. We had a street room and enjoyed the people watching. Train right outside that will dump you right in the middle of the canal district and a subway station a couple blocks away that will take you to Central Station. There is a cafe for coffee on the corner as well as a few local pubs and eateries on the block. There are no “party” bars so the evening was fairly calm.

One of the two rooms was not clean at all. Wrappers in a corner, prescription drugs on the floor, ashtray full on the balcony. At check in we were asked for a 50EUR 'damage' deposit per room. I would avoid this hotel.

It is hard to comment on this Hotel because it is not what we expected. As our last stop in our European trip we thought we would not scrimp here and paid for a lovely room with a balcony and views....it turned out to be our most expensive but by far our worst Hotel....very small old room, very grotty and tiny balcony, a view of a roof and a construction site and a long way out and not handy to anything. When I questioned the staff in the dark and dingy office they were not interested and said it was Expedia's promises and nothing to do with them. Extremely disappointing after excellent accommodation in the rest of Europe.

This property is disgusting. Smelly and unclean, tiny box room with window facing smoking area. Dingy and very cold. Towels smelt like they hadn’t been laundered. Radiator made awful noises throughout the night and the walls are paper thin so you can hear everything, even your the room next door snoring. Badly slept for two nights. Bathroom stunk of cigarettes. Manager does not care about any of the above. Hated it and would never stay again.

Stayed 3 nights. First night disastrous as window opened directly onto the smoking area. Noisy til after midnight and smelly too. Night receptionist was just rude when I complained.
Next day the Manager was great and moved us to a very nice quiet room at the back of the hotel.

Overall the property lived up to or even exceeded my expectations. The room service did not bother us once whilst we were in the room, but still managed to make the room look extremely clean and tidy when we arrived back for the day. The beds were comfy and rather spacious for a single, but my only issue was the small square-shaped pillows which did not offer much comfort or support for my neck. My biggest let down with this hotel was the continental breakfast, Although it was delicious and there was plenty of it, I was rather disappointed when I found out that it cost 9 euros every morning! For the price I paid I had expected it to be included or at least cheaper! All in all though I would like to believe that staying in this hotel made my trip to Amsterdam that little bit more enjoyable and relaxing.

There is a major construction project next door expect jack hammer noise starting at 7:00 am this is the nosiest hotel from other floors and rooms I’ve ever stayed in,you get the aroma of tobacco and pot nightly from people smoking on balcony I realize the hotels are old in Amsterdam but the decor and small rooms are disappointing

Atlantis is a typical 3-star Amsterdam hotel with small but very clean, comfortable rooms. Staff are very helpful and will store baggage if you arrive early or need it stored after checkout. The location less than 100 metres from the intersection of two tram lines (3 and 4) makes it easy to use public transport to get most places.

The garden room is not really a “garden” but it served its purpose. I loved having our own little backyard for smokers. Location to all public transportation was great too. Would deff stay again

Bad service

The manager of the hotel was very bad person, he ordered to block our room because he argued that the payment one breakfast that we did in the front desk wasn't effect. We been talking by phone several minutes, we paid one more time the same breakfast. It is really dad service.

Good location for transportation
Hot water in the room was not working and needed to escalate, but wasn’t able to sort out. The door in the toilet is broken.

No AC, loud, but clean, up to date & polite staff

The room was clean, had what we needed (we are a couple & were planning to be outside for most of the day, just coming back to sleep). Pleasantly surprised with the bathroom, was clean and not dated. Beds were comfortable. Tea/coffee was there however we did not try it. Staff were pleasant. What let everything down was that we were located on the ground floor and outside our window was the smoking area/bike rack. THERE WAS NO AC!!!!! So we had to have the windows open, which meant all night till the early hours of the morning we heard people talking and laughing loudly, smoke in the room, bike noises. It woke me up on the first night. Wasn’t nice to open the window because it felt like people could see inside the room & hear my partner and i. Had there been AC, this wouldn’t have been an issue. Also only about 3 tv channels worked
