THEY HAVE BED BUGS DO NOT STAY HERE. They know about the bed bugs, have had them multiple times in the past and still it continues to be an issue. I've asked for a refund and reimbursement for laundering costs and new hotel room and they have not answered.

Stayed with a partner. Room was in the basement so I’m sure the second floor rooms may have been nicer but this felt very much like a cruise ship room. Nothing terribly wrong with it. Some black mould noted in the bathroom. But it was in a nice neighbourhood within walking distance of some museums and trams

Very good location, room was clean and had everything you need. We were in a basement room which overlooked the courtyard at the back of the property. Mattress and pillows weren't very comfortable, and the shower tray seemed to fill up quite quickly when showering. Overall, pretty good for the price.

Cozy spot near city center

Great location! Close to the main attractions but also in a quiet neighborhood. You can either walk to the center of the city or take the tram or metro just a few short stops. Rooms are small and older but clean and perfect for a weekend trip.

Amazing location. Very close to grocery, coffee shops, metro and pharmacy. Staff was very friendly and a warm greeting.

I wish I would have read closer and realized there was no AC. The room had a wall mounted fan and came with another portable one. We stayed in June so the room had to have the window open every night and the street is busy. Didn’t sleep well any of the 4 nights.

The breakfast is not worth the price. The cook was fighting a cold and we could hear him sniffing, snorting and coughing while we were eating.

The fans helped but I ended up having to pull them apart and clean them myself as they were very dusty and dirty. Room is quite small along with the shower. I kept bumping in to the handle and changing the water temperature; almost burnt myself quite badly.

Decent if you’re on a tight budget.

Not the best. Pretty bare bones. The good: The staff were nice, the area felt safe, there were usb plugs, anything wipeable and launderable was clean. The bad: broken pole in closet so couldn’t hang anything, my door wouldn’t consistently lock behind me, noisy from the outside trams, dirty looking carpet, no amenities. If you are looking for cheaper and bare bones, this works, but I personally wouldn’t stay again.

Whilst clean and a room with a good view we found it was a long way from eateries. Staff were friendly and helpful. Decor is dated and the carpet needs replacing.
Wotif also gave very misleading communications that gave us the impression that we had paid so our arrival was full of confusion as we tried to sort this out.

Excellent Stay In Amsterdam

We were very lucky to find the Hotel Allure. We are traveling with bicycles and need secure bike parking. The Allure has a lovely garden where we were able to secure our bikes. We had a garden room which was very nice. It was clean and comfortable. The staff was very kind and helpful. The location is perfect for sightseeing. The tram is right outside the front door and there are many restaurants nearby.

TV was inoperable, phone was inoperable (we wanted to call reception). Noisy halls, thin doors.

Now for the positive: staff was very friendly and helpful! Took their time with you, answered questions, helped cheerfully with requests. Very close to the metro, the University of Amsterdam - cafés, cinema, and a relaxed, unhurried vibe. Away from the chaos and din of the Centrum and the big plazas.

We walked everywhere, and Centrum is 20-30 minutes a way, depending on where you're headed.

Not really worth the money, but on a holiday weekend after 2 years of Covid lockdowns, I guess ya gotta hate the game, not the player.

Pleasant place, easy walk to food and attractions

A convenient place to stay, with everything you need. Walkable easily to the Jewish quarter and ARTIS zoo, as well as to the red light district and, if your legs are up to it, Amsterdam Centraal and the docks whence many of the canal cruises depart. Apart from breakfast the hotel has a vending machine with various snacks and drinks (including beer). Other commenters have mentioned that the steps are steep and narrow, which is true, but then perhaps if you dislike tall narrow buildings, the Netherlands is not the destination for you. I had 35kg (~75lb) of luggage and yes it was a bit of a strain to get that up the main entrance steps, but thereafter the elevator was fine. Room was clean and comfortable, not incredibly new inside but well-maintained and serviced. Pleasant view of typical Dutch architecture across the street. Bathroom is naturally very confined and has shower only, but again everything was clean and working perfectly. Would stay here again if my travels bring me to Amsterdam once more.

My booking was rocky from the start! Booked with the option of a fully refundable cancellation and they continued to decline my refund with no reason, which was ridiculous. Moving forward to when we arrived, the hotel staff was kind and allowed us to leave our luggage with them as we were early. They ended up allowing us to check in early and carried our belongings to the room.

When we entered the room each day it took about 5 attempts before we were able to get the card to unlock the door, but eventually got it. The room was quite small, which was not a problem for us. It definitely didn't feel very clean, with a bunch of stains on the carpet and when attempting to use the shower, the shower filled up to the point where it seemed as though it would overflow out of the shower and was just gross! Our smoke detector was ripped out of the ceiling which definitely doesn't follow code! The bed wasn't a real mattress, but a box spring with an inch thick cushion, but surprisingly not that uncomfortable.

We were given a WiFi password during our stay which was great; however, the password would expire daily which was not supposed to happen. Charged 10 euros for a breakfast that included a piece of bread and the bottom of the barrel of eggs. Lastly, the cleaning man entered our room when we were sleeping without knocking and then stood in the doorway and asked me to get out of bed and hand him our dirty towels. This was rude and violated our privacy.

We purposely made this booking as the room benefited form a balcony which we appreciated. Location wise; short walk to the metro station. Hotel were happy to look after our bags so we could visit the Van Gogh museum after check out without pulling around luggage. Only slight downside was the very narrow single beds. We managed, but a larger person would not.

Expedia - you need to step up and take criticism

Yes Expedia, I trust you. Well I did. I expect you to know what the hotels you sell are like. But my experience in Croatia and now the \"Hotel Allure\" make me question that.
It's not just that the hotel is over-egged in the picture and description. It's not that the annex I was in has no security door. Or that reception gave my key to somebody else. Or that the door was faulty. Or because they allow smoking on balconies having the windows open at night isn't practical. Or no room service. And a raft of other things that make me wonder why you even list it.
It's mainly because I trust that when you ask for [what I paid for three nights, I see I can't actually say that] I expect that to reflect the quality when compared with similar priced properties.
I think this has happened recently. I've been a customer of yours for a long time and thought the Croatia experience was just a blip.

The room was very small, sunk down below the sidewalk view that we had and did not have any aircon in the room. The picture in the ad was not representative of our room. It was convenient to mass transit, both trams and metro. The neighborhood doesn't have much in the way of restaurants that we could find but that was not an issue with the mass transit. The staff was helpful in shipping something that we left behind to a port our cruise docked in.

The several (six) steep and narrow steps up to the room block and, separately, to the main desk were mildly troublesome and would be more so for anyone with compromised mobility. There is an elevator to the higher floors, but only AFTER you get to the top of those steps.

Nice little hotel tucked just outside the main canal ring on a pleasant street. Only a few minutes to walk to the grocery or Weeserplein Metro. A few minutes further and you’re at the Amstel River. Room was not large but absolutely adequate. The staff were courteous and prompt. There is an elevator in addition to stairs. Did not try the breakfast. There is a fridge in the room.

The room was more like a box room, dingy and cramped, the bed was wonky and matress was a cheap ensanble with bobbles that scratched your skin and the mattress kept moving. You had to be careful not to scratch your skin against the rough walls, in the room, and the staff politeness was robotic and insincere, as I walked into reception. They all stared coldly at me until I said hello and then they responded as if on cue. Breakfast was offered for 10 euros per person but it was atrocious. It consisted of a slice of ham, cheese and a bowl of cereal. Overall my stay wasn't a very pleasant experience.

Not the best hotel I have been to.
I was given a basement room, had to spend half a day in the hotel and was constantly disturbed by the noise of the people moving on the floor above.
The double bed was actually two singles joined together, the problem was that the mattresses were so light that it was extremely easy for a gap to be formed between the two, which meant that you continously had to move the mattresses or just sleep on the bed.
While the location was pretty good, i would rather suggest that you move farther away from the center and use the metro/tram etc. to get a better value.

It is a good three star hotel, clean rooms. However the guests are very loud and smoked inside the hotel, even though it is non smoking, which was disturbing and disgusting.

Authentic Experience of Amsterdam Local Culture

This small family-owned hotel is in a residential neighborhood of historic Amsterdam within walking distance of the university. The room is more attractive than the pictures show with lush floor to ceiling drapes that block sunlight when needed and light sheers that let in filtered light if preferred. The larger bed consist of 2 twins put together but have comfortable linens. The shower is small but nicely decorated with an interesting modern tile mosaic accent. Personnel are friendly, multilingual, and very familiar with the local attractions. Additionally, there is a trolley stop, subway system, wine shoppe, restaurants, and a grocery are very close to the hotel. The neighborhood offers lovely strolls past quaint homes, canals with lively personal boat traffic, and lots of pedestrian traffic. The only drawbacks to the hotel are that there is no air conditioning (it does get hot in July) and the hallways are somewhat noisy when tourist arrive or leave. Tourist musts include a canal cruise, visiting the old chapels, the Anne Frank house, and the art museums.

A clean and well turned out hotel. We had a basement room, which was surprisingly light. The hotel is about 20 mins walk to Neumarket, in a quiet residential/business area. No tea and coffee in room; instead we had to ask for it at reception. Wifi isn't free. Good to have a safe and mini fridge in room! We didn't take breakfast.

Convenient location right on tram lines and metro station that took you directly to all the major attractions. Polite and helpful staff looked after our bags after checkout. Internet is a little iffy and expensive for single day price but for multiple days seems reasonable. Breakfast is quite expensive but cheaper if you pay in advance. We didn't have it, preferring to use the nearby supermarket. Room was a little small but more than ample for requirements.

Rooms were clean and had everything you need. We were a group of 8 so they accommodated us all on the top floor together, no-one else was there so it was great to have it to ourselves and feel we could spread out. The staff were brilliant - helping us with directions for places to eat, visit and where the nearest supermarket was, providing information on public transport, helping us to order a takeaway pizza.

Hotel Allure wasn't located right in the centre of Amsterdam but we didn't see that as a problem - it meant it was quiet at night and it was easy to get public transport to the centre and it was also possible to walk, which was a great way to experience Amsterdam and view the architecture etc.

We stayed in Hotel Allure for a weekend for leisure purposes but then were in Amsterdam for business the following two days, which involved a stay in the Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel (a Marriott hotel)- undoubtedly more expensive (we weren't paying). On our return journey back to England we were largely in agreement that out of the two we preferred Hotel Allure - warmer welcome, more relaxed, better atmosphere.

We arrived and checked in late, and the gentleman at the front counter was very pleasant and helpful.
After our first nights stay, we awoke to a 'mouldy' or dank smell.
The ventilation in the room was substandard (non existent) and there seemed to be a hidden, mystery mould groing somewhere in the room.

I'm sure there are other rooms without the dank, and the location was great.
Far enough from the town centre to sleep well, close enough to walk everywhere.

Don't charge for the WIFI thats just greedy

The beds were just pads, and a double was just two pads pushed together. This was actually very awkward if you sleep next to someone. Don't buy the wifi for 4 Euro for 24 hr, there is a bar down the street that has free wifi at a pretty decent speed, and beer. Other than that the room was relatively comfortable.

Booked this hotel for weekend when all rates were high. The location was convenient for what we wanted visiting family in the area. Could not fault the service of the front desk - so welcoming, nothing too much trouble. Booked bikes from hotel to explore - happy we were flexible and decided when to return when it suited us. Room very clean, bed comfy. Had room at front with mini balcony. Concerned may be noisy from trams going by and whether we should ask for different room but we slept fine!

Good. Except there are no fridge and aircon in the room. Luckily its during winter when I stayed there. Cannot imagine what will it be like during summer where all they provide is just a normal fan.

Comfortable

Nice location in a quieter part of the inner ring. A couple minutes from Weesperplein metro station which takes you right to city center or 15-20 minutes beautiful walk. Very friendly staff. Nice breakfast buffet that was well managed. Room and washroom were small but clean and comfortable. Pay internet worked well but some sites didn't seem to load - not sure if they were blocked. Very satisfied with stay here.

Cute hotel!

Overall, a great experience at a really good price! Only two complaints - The beds were not that comfortable as the padding kept slipping from the base and there was a leak in the ceiling so when it started raining, water dripped into the room.

The day and evening staff were very friendly. We booked a budget room and it was a good size and clean. The only problem was that our room was next to a door leading to the outside area and it could get a bit noisy with people coming and going. However, I would return as it was a lovely hotel. It was not in the center but all the main sights were within walking distance.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, clean room

The hotel was about a 15 minute walk into the centre of Amstedam which we didn`t mind it was quite pleasant and we felt very safe. Transport is excellent if you didn`t want to walk. Would definately stay there again and have no problems recommending it to anyone.

Couldn't have asked for much more.

I stayed at Hotel Allure with my girlfriend for 3 nights recently. We loved it. Whilst its not as close to some attractions as it could have been, there is a metro station only a few minutes away which will get you into centraal very quickly. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was perfectly clean and the bathroom was lovely. We had a couple of issues with our keycards not working when we got back late at night but it seemed to be a one-off issue and the staff sorted it out promptly. The surrounding area is pretty - especially in the snow. Highly recommended.
