Ideally placed to catch the 14 Tram to central station which stopped right outside the hotel, reception staff friendly, spoke good English, hotel quiet, and comfortable room, although bath room very small. Noticed a few dirty matks on the skirting boards/ lower walls but overall a pleasant stay for the price, situated next door to a small newsagents type store for basics essentials, and across from the Zoo entrance, with a few small cafes, bars and pizza/ kebab places.

As a plus…convenience to the tram. Right out side the front door. Negatives…safe in room did not work, head space in bed was terrible (vaulted ceiling), sheets and towels never changed (4 nights), coffee machine in lobby was limited to one free cup for 4 nights stay, no shower curtain and limited head space. Also a different fee was charged to us each of the four nights we stayed with no explanation as to why. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!

My partner and I stayed in the Terrace Room and I have to say this room was OK. There is no A/C or fridge in this room. Most hotels I’ve stayed at in Europe have a fridge and A/C so I was surprised that this hotel does not. The room was very hot all day and night. It was hard to sleep at night. Even during the day, our room was hotter than the hallway. We told the staff our concern and they provided us with an extra fan. This still did not solve the overheating issue we were having. Also the shower in the bathroom had some stains on the walls and the door handles were not cleaned either. Overall my stay was OK. The only good thing for me was the front staff. They were nice. But unfortunately I will not be back.

When I booked (fairly last minute) they didn't have a room with two separate beds. I asked for a mattress for the floor and they came up with one instantly! It's a small hotel, but there's an elevator and friendly staff, the room layout worked fine, and the tram is right out front!

The rooms are in desperate need of an upgrade. The bed linens are old, the towels are thread bear, the walls need to be painted, the tiles going into the bathroom are broken. We had to be moved to a downgraded room because of a maintenance issue, and now they won’t respond to my requests for a refund for the difference in price. When we checked out, the nice front desk person said “good luck with that, they don’t care”. And she was right.

The outside courtyard was a tip site of piles of old chairs on top of each other aswell as other debris lying all over the place. This was the only view from the room. I immediately complained and was told the hotel was fully booked. Eventually got moved to the only other basement room next door which also stunk of dampness and was dirty with the same view.
In both rooms the bathroom was so small that my knees touched the wall when I sat on it. You had to come out of the bathroom to dry off after a shower as you literally could not move in it.
Hairdryer was broken so had to request another from reception. They gave us one and the wires were hanging out the bottom .
No milk to go with tea or coffee and charged us €2 for coffee from a coffee machine that was in reception which was disgusting.
Never ever stay here. Expedia! You should be embarrassed advertising this hotel.!

The property is located on a good spot. It is near restaurants, a park and transportation is literally outside. The hotel is small as expected. If you are a light sleeper and get a room facing the street, you’ll hear people laughing/talking from the restaurant across the street and the bell of the tram when approaching. The only complaint I have is about the bathroom. There is no shower but a tub without a shower curtain. It is very difficult to get in and out if you’re traveling with an older person. The floor is deeper than the tub making it hard to go in and get out and since there is no shower curtain…. the water goes outside.

Staff at reception always friendly and fixed my broken aircon on the same day, which was a friday. If you are only using the hotel for a place to sleep it is perfect. Trams right outside the door. Ended up waiting for 25 minutes at reception whilst the staff were “out for a minute”, so had to reschedule our dinner plans. Some of the lights didn’t work, the safe didn’t work and shower door was broken. Beds were comfortable though.

Only thing i would say is that it was a bit outdated and needs some attention - the curtains didn't fit the entire window so was woken up by the daylight even if we wanted a lie in but other than that we couldn't fault it! This is a pleasant hotel for a budget traveller. I would have liked to have a bar fridge and and ironing board with iron as well. Otherwise I really appreciated the bath which I used every day. So few hotels have baths nowadays. The Tram is right outside the door. There are also three very interesting museums very close to the hotel if you are interested in the Holocaust and WW2.

I really enjoyed my stay here, the room was clean, the toilets were spotless. The area around the hotel was quiet and felt safe, and it was easy to access the city and return throughout the day. All of the staff were superb. My only return to you is the lift up and down felt unsafe and needs some attention. Thank you very much.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and we had what we needed. It’s a very small room, but typical to the European experience. There’s an elevator which was nice, I would not want to carry my suitcase up the steep winding staircase. The staff was friendly and helpful, I felt secure and it was close to the zoo which was one place we enjoyed visiting. I loved the nearby shopping, site seeing and general atmosphere of the area around the hotel. Would book again!

Ok place, definitely a little old and thin walls so you can hear some noises above and below. Private bathroom was extremely small so if you’re a big person, definitely consider that. The property itself was beautiful and well located for a quieter but still accessible stay in Amsterdam. The woman who checked us in was very nice and friendly. Our main issue was that while we were staying another guest let themselves into our room, while we were in it, with their key card. It fully unlocked the door and allowed them in. When we went down to reception to report this and ask for a solution it felt like they were accusing us of being confused, or that it was just housekeeping, we had the dnd sign up so that also shouldn’t have happened if it were the case. I wish it had been answered better and given some sort of solution but we ended up just putting a chair under the door for the night before we left.

The room was quiet and, despite being in an attic, sufficiently spacious. The hotel is very conveniently located, just a few steps across from Artis tram station (line 14, Flavopark terminus). In fact, it was so close to the tram station, that I could still use the hotel's wifi while waiting for the tram. Overall, and given how expensive accommodation is in (central) Amsterdam, this was very good value.

We chose this hotel for the valet parking knowing that driving and parking in Amsterdam is not easy. When we arrived there was no driveway/parking spot to pull into and when we did get inside we were informed that they do not and never have had valet parking for this hotel. Parking was easily 4 blocks away in a parking garage. Although it was not far I was disappointed that Travelocity did not correct this on there site. So parking is not available on site.

We had a lovely one night stay at Hotel Park Plantage. The nondescript facade of the hotel and the cramped and shabby reception area were not the best and frankly, had us a bit concerned at first viewing but the jewel in the crown of this hotel was our sweet, attic room with high, slanted (watch your head) ceiling and two enchanting dormer windows with a view, the bathroom — complete with deep soaker tub, the comfortable bed, pristine bed linens and the surrounding neighbourhood. The AC was effective but noisy. We stayed in Room 42, which I believe was the smallest room on the floor. It was adequate space for two adults for one-night. Friendly daytime reception staff. Easily accessible by transit via the #14 tram from the airport/train station. Overall — a lovely stay.

We stayed for five nights and had a three person room. The rooms are small, so with three twin beds, it was definitely cramped. Luckily, we spent our time in Amsterdam exploring the city rather than hanging out in the room. The room was kept clean with daily housekeeping to tidy up and provide fresh towels. Oddly enough, the shower curtain in the bathroom only had four shower curtain rings to hold it up, so that was a bit of a challenge. Since we were there in August, the a/c was a great feature. It was a bit loud and chugged along like a small locomotive, but it held up and worked fine. The front desk personnel were always very helpful in answering questions. I liked that someone is there 24/7. The #14 tram stop is just steps away from the hotel, so we really loved the convenience!
