Tommy was exactly as described. All the facilities you need, coffee machine and coffee, kettle and tea, caffeinated and herbal, milk and non dairy milk. Dishwasher and tabs. Comfy bed.
Supermarket and restaurants on the doorstep. Excellent vegetarian restaurant Spirit, great pizza at the pizza project, delicious waffle at heart garden. Excellent vegan and vegetarian options so close by!

Great location and the room was perfect, enough space for all of us with an en-suite as well, shower was hot and powerful. The check in process was very easy and (although we didn’t use them) the option to leave bags in lockers was a nice touch. We had a lovely stay here!

After a cancelled flight we found ourselves in need of accommodation for 2 nights. We had a extra large studio and sofa bed, it was well equipt with everything we needed. Spacious and clean. Check in was problematic, had to create a Numa account, upload every guests passport pics etc in order to get key code to building and our room but website had issues so it took a long time. Once in, all good. 40 minute walk into centre, museums cafes and shops along the way. Clean, safe, quiet, helpful freindly staff. Opposite canal. Local spar type shops close by for food, drinks and toiletries etc.

The room was nice and clean and comfortable. The only thing we notes is a wet dog smell in the hallway's on the 2nd flood where our room was.

There is lockers available if you arrive before check-in time and we appreciated that.

The staff was friendly.

We were not disappointed with our stay ad would recommend it to a friend.

Slept six easily in the maisonette. Lack of A/C was a struggle, as open windows let in mosquitos and flies. Hand held shower was broken. Laundry room had only one operating washer. Would have preferred that second bathroom was enclosed rather than tub and lav next to the bed so it could have been shared better by six adults.

It was a great spot BUT how could you possibly expect us to carry our 100kg of luggage up a five tier staircase when the lift is broken. You knew this, you put no processes in place, we had to beg for assistance. You put your head in the sand when we asked for help. Everything else was great, this was ridiculous and for the full length of our stay. UNACCEPTABLE- you offered no advice or remedy - would you like a photo of the stairwell? We will be requesting compensation

I would actually give this place a 3.5 rating. It was better than ok. The property itself was nicely laid out. It was centrally located (4 minute walk to grocery store), bus stop right out front. Free lockers were very helpful. Our issue had to do with problems in the room. The door to the main bedroom wouldn't close (there was an open shower which couldn't be used due to lack of privacy). The stove top didn’t work. The large window in the living space wouldn't close properly, letting in a draught and rattling throughout the night during a storm. Lastly the main bathroom sink had an extremely slow drain. These are all maintenance issues, which could have been sorted before our arrival.

The room was excellent, bed was super comfy. People tended to hang around the entrance for a long time, it would be nicer if there was a separate room/area for people to stay in whilst waiting for flights etc as large groups just hanging around at the door felt a bit uncomfortable. It could get a bit noisy although we were on the ground floor. We were not disturbed too much by this.

A quieter area of the city, perfect for families of you want to avoid the stag/hen dos and the crowds. However, still noisy if you need to open the window (kebab shop right outside and a busy road). Check in was easy via WhatsApp message. Amenities were ok, although we couldn't figure out the coffee machine and we did need to clean the sink area. Some noise from other visitors - folk returning from nights out at 3am etc. Close proximity to the maritime museum, a little further walk gets you to NEMO, This is Holland, the Eye museum and the train station. About a 40 minute walk to the Rijksmuseum and attractions around that area. Lovely grocery store, Odin, nearby. Wine and beer for sale there, too. Bin wasn't emptied - I don't think it could have done another day and there wasn't any indication of where to take the rubbish. Beds were comfortable. Flooring uneven and some low beams - it's an old building. Shower was excellent. TV ok - BBC World, CNN for English speaking channels. WiFi connection good. For the cost and location, this is a nice place to stay. We'd stay again.

We ended up in nh collection as an alternative. The original hotel we booked was horrible and had major issues, causing us to leave and book nh collection late. The overall experience would have been good if the day of check in, there was a more experienced colleague available to assist and save us wasting hours for our room to be sorted.

This is a fantastic accommodation option especially for those who are looking for more space in a city that sells it at a premium. We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children under the age of 6) and the family room was brilliant for us. Incredibly spacious, room to unpack, a pretty much full kitchen, well equipped kitchen, lots of natural light with blackout shades, air conditioning (not in all rooms) and so much space (coffee table and chair, dining table with 4 seats, full size bed and full size sleeper sofa). The online check-in is really simple. We got everything we needed to access the property and our apartment in a very timely manner and with the few issues we had, they were incredibly responsive via whatsapp. I also loved that they had an \"Essentials Closet\" in the laundry room where you could get extra toilet paper, kitchen towel, towels and linens 24 hours a day. The property is also in a really good location - less than 20 minutes walk to Amsterdam Centraal and less than 5 minutes walk to the grocery story, bus and tram stops. The only negatives - we and our family staying next door had issues with our dishwasher, ours was resolved after a few days and they were responsive and helpful throughout; the fire alarm went off twice during our 4 night stay, both times in the morning with people cooking breakfast; although the apartment was superficially clean, the whole apartment could have done with a deep clean. Will stay again for sure!

If a hotel isn’t going to have staff on property, they need to have an easy way to communicate when things aren’t going well. The property care staff was extremely rude and we felt it was racially motivated. We have never had a bad booking with Expedia, until now.

It was very loud at night. We ended up in a corner unit - the noise level was quite high, with all windows closed.

There was a sock inserted into one of the windows. I guess this was done by previous tenants to create tighter closing for one of the windows ... :)

The towels had yellow spots and should have been disposed of a long time ago. The pillow under the case had yellow spots as well.

The elevator was out of order during the stay. Apparently the elevator has been broken for several weeks and there’s no signs of window will be repaired. The property did not notify us that the elevator would not be working. We have many bags and getting them to the second floor was a chore We company about the elevator and they said they would get back to us. We heard nothing. We liked the location in the accommodations. Do not stay there again, though due to lack of communication about the elevator.

The studio room was very comfortable for two people. The hotel was easily accessible by public transportation. Although all communication with the hotel was electronic, it was very good. The worst part of the stay was that the elevator was out of order and we had to carry our luggage up and down two flights of stairs with open risers, which was a bit tricky. I might not recommend this hotel if you have accessibility needs.

The hotel itself was fairly clean but no housekeeping during the day. Easy to take a bus to from Centraal station, and to get to the main shopping areas. No luggage storage for early and late checkout as well so you will have to use the providers that they recommended. Otherwise communication thru WhatsApp is 24/7 and very helpful. The lift broke down and we had to carry our luggage up 2 floors. Free coffee machine downstairs (was not working while we stayed).

The room wasn't the cleanest, soiled couch/carpeting, lighting. Uncomfortable sofa sleeper mattress, sleeping on the couch was better. Maintenance- broken electric outlet in kitchen, broken toilet paper holder, hole in tile in bathroom that looks like an old electrical outlet, one window didn't open. Expensive and felt more like being in a hostel.

Rather poor as we were not informed about the tax that was due. Had to find the email from my junk folder. No reception, no immediate support all on WhatsApp and worst of all The lift was not working and we had e bags, kids pushchair to carry everyday. Won't be staying there again. Another alarming one is they publicly disclosed my email to all the residents because of an amateurs move as they failed to use bcc. Not acceptable !

The staff at this Yays location were very helpful. They helped explain how the parking/ transportation works, gave me pointers for food and grocery for the baby, and their coffee at the reception desk is great. The rooms are amazing with blackout curtains and a full kitchen. Totally worth the price.

It was super dusty...like...the worst I'd ever seen in a hotel. In fact my kids, wife, & I all woke up with runny noses from how little the room had been dusted lately. What else...I slept on the pullout couch & the sheets were really itchy to the point I thought the couch had f******* bed bugs. My daughter also remarked once we got back to the United States how the beds made her feel like she had bed bugs also. This was a full day later after we had left the hotel when she said that. Also when sleeping on the pullout couch every time I rolled over it was so damn creaky it was akin to a WWII tank with how much it squeaked. It would wake up my family up above in the loft area as I rolled over. Sleeping at the Yays Martime Amsterdam was easily a *top-5* worst nights of sleep in my life outside of my kids being born. There was soap scum on the bathroom counter. The bathroom would easily flood because the lip for the shower was so small. Lastly just looking around you could tell that things hadn't been cleaned in awhile. Overall grime on many items. We stayed 2 nights and after the first night I seriously thought about eating the money & staying at the DoubleTree instead for an extra $400 more. That's how much I hated it. I intentionally structured our day so we would stay out exploring the city so we wouldn't have to spend time in the room. Once it was time to check out I was happy to leave. Truly one of the worst hotel experiences of my 38-year life.

Great place to stay in Amsterdam

While this place is not in the \"heart of it\", it is a great location very close to all the transportation options you could want. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is only a 7 minute bus ride to central station where you can pick up the tram, the train or information on tours. There are 2 grocery store options just a few minutes way away and restaurants all around.
If we find our selves in Amsterdam again we will definitely stay here again.

Our stay here was ok. Was a very nice view from window and convenient to have a kitchen. Staff was really lovely. However overall it is too overpriced for what you get (not really a 4 star hotel, not super clean, etc). Biggest problem for us was that the Wifi did not work at all on the second floor of the \"loft\" which is where the bedroom is, so we could only use internet in the kitchen.

The staff was very helpful and the welcome book has everything you need. A 25 minute bus ride into the core of Amsterdam that was easily navigated with 1 bus. One note of concern: they offer bikes for 10 euro however the bikes are in need of servicing. We had to get through 3 bikes before we found 2 that worked and even then one of the bikes had a broken brake mechanism which we realized into our ride. Thankfully a local helped us otherwise is would have been unrideable.

Nice place, Not the greatest location. My only big complaint is that neither the hotel nor Hotels.com told us before that there is no cleaning service. You need to make your bed and if you need towels , you must go downstairs and ask for them. They leave you on your own. I think for the price ( not cheap) the least they could do was advise beforehand.

YAYS is in a great location, close to excellent restaurants at all price levels, close to great public transportation, close enough to walk to the Central Station (about 30 minutes). Equipped with kitchens, all the rooms afford the opportunity to cook some meals in your room (we splurged on restaurant lunches but made dinners \"in house\"). Staff is friendly and helpful (one staff member made renting bikes from YAYS an easy process, and gave us good tips on navigating the often busy bike lanes). Our room was on the third floor, and the single elevator is both s-l-o-w and noisy, so we opted to always walk the stairs. High recommend nearby Frank's Smoke House and the d & a hummus bistro (outstanding Middle Eastern food). Great walking neighborhood.

The Yay's apartment was a really good stay. It was one of our favorites. Shoutouts to Emily and Mario for making the stay so enjoyable and so easy to communicate with.

The location of the apartments is also great as it is still walkable to the rest of the city. Approximately 30 mins to Amsterdam Central Station and about a 10 min bus ride. Street parking is super easy as well. I rent a car for two days and was able to find parking directly across the street from the apartments.

Bonus points for having a laundry facility.

Nice accommodation and no issues. Great location a minute from the bus and tram stops. Friendly staff and had everything we need. Inclusive Nespresso pods and coffee in the reception was a nice touch. Only small issue was the flooring in the room was starting to lift off - not quite at the stage where is was going to be a trip hazard but needs attention soon. Also usual problem of shower not draining water quickly enough, but wasn't bad enough for us to report to housekeeping.

We stayed at this hotel, and we were given a room that was not cleaned properly. However, we were changed to another room that was in a better condition. Also, the walls are not insulated properly and we could hear everything from the street and the room above. That was not cool and very inconvenient.
The staff was very attentive - specially Emily. She was great.

The front desk reception was very helpful. We were provided with a map and several recommended public transportation lines to get to museums and tourist destinations. The location is in a residential neighborhood, not quite as busy as downtown. The area is scenic, water is on either side of Oostenburgergracht. There are groceries within walking distance, a bus stop just in front of the hotel and a tram within a few minutes walking distance. Central station was 10-15 minutes by bus and Rijksmuseum was easily accessible by tram.

The property was nice and the staff was accommodating and welcoming. Overall the studio room was clean and tidy, although the 2nd floor area was very dusty. So not sure when the banister and table lamp was dusted off. There was ice cubes in the tray from the previous individuals that stayed and who knows when that was and that should have been cleaned - in my opinion. There was left over water in the reservoir in the espresso machine and again that should have been emptied and cleaned from previous tenants. Kitchen was fully stocked which was nice. There is a supermarket very close (cash only) to get all necessary items needed, which was nice. 30 minute walk to Dam Square. Took Taxi from airport and wow expensive - felt as though I was charged double as I grabbed a Uber which was half the price back to the airport. Overall nice experience. Great place if you want to stay out of the commotion and be in a more relaxed area!

Great hotel

We stayed for 5 nights at this hotel. The apartment is very clean and beds are very comfortable. Kitchen is new and clean. Location of this hotel is great. Bus, tram and grocery nearby. Highly recommend this hotel.

The property was clean spacious and really warm friendly staff . The upstairs bedroom area for me had to many steps as i need the toilet during the night so my son aged 12 used upstairs while we slept downstairs on the bed settee which was big and comfortable. . We didnt cook really but they did have an oven type microwave and hobs and kettle and coffee pot machine . Bit of a walk into center but we did learn the buses and no22 outside the hotel takes u to the center and back buy your ticket onboard. Lovely area plenty of supermarkets left and right of the property and wee coffee shops near by .

Our room was disappointing.
The bedroom was on the second floor of the room. And the stairs were dangerous. In addition in the second floor there are stairs in the room between the beds(!). If you are awake at night, you can easily fall down. We had a baby, we have written that in the reservation. This was awful. The other things were Ok.

The place was great. We were a family of 3 with a 9 yr old. Convenient location. Easy access to bus# 22 to get to Amsterdam Centraal Station. Grocery stores within walking distance. FYI that grocery stores accept cash only; they don't accept debit/credit cards (visa) Shout out to Amelie and Petra who were super helpful, friendly and pleasant to talk to.

could do better job with cleaning the room if any. at the summer time, proberty like this ,needs AC . fan is not enough. the Elevator is like from the 1800's very noisy and very very slow. Overall Good , but could be much better with little adjustments.
