I was very happy with my stay at ibis Amsterdam City Stopera.
The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with housekeeping carried out daily to a good standard.

The location is excellent. It’s around a 15-minute walk to Amsterdam Central Station and roughly the same distance to the heart of the city’s nightlife, which made getting around very easy. At the same time, the area itself is calm and pleasant.

There are also plenty of nearby amenities, including supermarkets and pharmacies (such as Boots), which was very convenient during the stay.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily choose to stay here again in the future.

The room was not as nice as the photos suggested. The room had no kettle, fridge or bin. Only option was a paper cup and water from the sink. The kettle and bin in particular felt like basics that were missing.

Ibis had the most welcoming staff throughput our entire stay. Extremely friendly and helpful. There was someone available 24 hours a day for assistance. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I will definitely recommend Ibis to friends and family!

When I first entered the room, the towels were dirty, and there were a couple stains on the bedsheets. It was clear that the cleaning staff did a lazy job preparing the room, which was disappointing. The hotel location was good, and the front desk staff were nice.

The staff initially assigned us a room, but when I went upstairs, it did not have the view I had seen online when I selected the hotel. I went back downstairs and was kindly assisted by Mr. Raoul. I explained my concern, as I had chosen and booked the hotel specifically for its canal view. Mr. Raoul was extremely helpful and graciously changed my room, assuring me that I would love the new one he assigned and he was absolutely right. However, It would have been nice if the hotel had a gym.

Check in was fast. Room was available way before check in time. I like that you have to scan your room key to get in the elevator. It felt safe. Room was small but okay for 2 nights. Bathroom was small as well. The towels were thin and scratchy. The toilet paper was also rough. There was no tissue in the room. Went down and requested for a box. Thanks to the male staff in the reception that went out of his way to give me a box. If breakfast is not included in your stay, I don’t think it was worth paying for.

Staff wasn’t very helpful and welcoming. I was checking in very late about 11pm. First arrived poker face asked me what it is?! Then go through the check in process, whole way through only I can remember he try to sell me the breakfast. Anyway I was starving as didn’t have anything after lunch. I walked around no any close by restaurants or shop open, I asked him he only said to me order online no more any information then I gave up I just bought the crisp and water from him. Then next day I just see the poster i can order pizza from them 24/7 I’m not very happy. Room is not very big and spacious just match with what you pay and it is clean I think only the sink table was a bit dusty and you can hear the people talking on the corridor and open and close doors. During day time the lift was repaired so quite noisy at that time. Two supermarket (street away)and coffee shop close by. About 20mins walk to centre. Because of the experience I don’t think I will go back.

Overall the hotel was nice and a good value.
The bathroom was an interesting concept - like a boat bathroom capsule and it worked.

Good location, a little walk away from the lively parts of Amsterdam but the benefit is that it’s in a quiet area at night. Really comfortable beds! Only negative is that the ground floor windows need net curtains, especially those that look into the courtyard. We had to have our curtains closed the whole time as those sitting in the courtyard and those inside the dining area could see straight through into our room.

Not a good experience.

Rooms are ok, a little outdated, and no fridge. We were very upset that we stay there 5 nights and our room did not get cleaned at all even though we requested it. The front desk staff were very nice and did apologize about the incident. On the positive side it has an excellent location, close to stores and main plaza.

We arrived at this Ibis after a rather dreadful stay in another Ibis location in Brussels, so out expectations were quite low.

It was a very pleasant surprise. Large bed, great internet, lovely view, and wonderful service from very helpful staff. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

We came in from the airport, and it was nice that it was not far from the nearby train station stop. The hotel check in was a bit slow. In terms of a place to stay, it’s nice enough, we had a room with a decent size window that opened towards a canal and allowed for good airflow. The units are fairly small and tight, but for the price in central Amsterdam we didn’t mind. We thought the shower and how it kind of isn’t fully separate from the rest of the bathroom might’ve caused water to get everywhere, but that wasn’t an issue.

This hotel had pros and cons. On the positive side it was very clean, the staff were friendly and helpful and the beds were comfortable. It was about a 10 to 12 minute walk to the nearest metro or tram stop.

However, I found the amenities to be lacking. The room had no bar fridge, no coffee maker, no trash can except a small one in the bathroom, no tissues etc. Also, at night you could not find food in the area. There was a grocery store open until 10 PM. That was about a 12 minute walk away, but if you are coming back to the hotel after that, you will not be able to get any food locally.

Absolute nightmare of a stay.

We booked 5 nights and after checking inn on the Monday evening late at night we realised the next day the room was so un-tidy and ripped bed sheets and cob webs hanging off the fire alarm over the bed.

I was looking forward to staying here and it was just the worst stay ever. We then complained to the staff who seemed quiet hostile after I told them the issues the next day and I asked for them to refund me the 3rd of July till the 5th and they did there very best not to do this even though the room was nothing like the pictures, it was a very un tidy unhygienic room.

So me and my partner booked else where costing us a £1000 more and we have been told no refund is possible at ibis how is this even possible even after having evidence of the issues with the room, I think this is an absolute joke and worst customer service experience I’ve had. I even offered to pay the 2 nights we stayed and refund the reminder but they said no and had basically ruined the start to my birthday week away with my wife

I would still like the 3rd until the 5th July refunding as this is unacceptable

Avoid this place it is not worth the money at all

Sadly Ibis is not providing a kettle in the room 🙁, they have always had kettles in the room every time we have stayed at Ibis Hotels…….
I think they are charging 20€ a day for tea making facilities! Such a shame.

We asked for an extra pillow at the front desk and were told the limit is two per guest, thought that was a bit weird. Our room looked into the courtyard, we had the window open because there is no ventilation in the room and the HVAC barely worked, but people were smoking in the courtyard so it was either be stuffy or have the smoke come in. Bring your own hairdryer, the in-room one is nothing more than a cool breeze and does nothing. The bathroom is really strange, like they installed an airplane lavatory into a hotel. Overall not a great experience, won’t book another ibis
