The room was cleaned and very spacious for 2 people. The bathroom was cleaned daily. The common area is massive. Internet speed was excellent. The hotel is well situated. About 40 minutes walk to downtown or 12 minutes ride on bus #22. Albert Heijn was close by and was excellent for breakfast and coffee under €5. Only surprised was the lack of basic toiletries like soap in the bathroom and you have to pay additional fees for anything extra. However, I was very satisfied with my stay.

I did not like the fact that the page states there is parking available, but the reality is that there isn't. I was counting on that.
Also, there is not much to do in the area. The only good thing is that from there, it is easy to move with public transport and reach places that have more going on.
The hostel was clean and the people there were nice and friendly.

The place is definitely not cozy - think a basic student dormitory room with three bank beds, no fridge, microwave, coffee maker, air conditioner, hangers. Very dark - a single lamp for the whole room. You can request a hair drier or a room fan from the front desk for free. You have to pay for towels. Laundry is available, but not cheap (9.50 Euro). The shower room is fairly decent. It's also a bit far from the downtown - 25-30 minutes by tram or bus. Breakfast provided is basic and probably not worth the price (10 Euro). We also had an incident when a stranger knocked at the door and told us he was checking the room, but when we asked at the front desk they said they don't do that, so it was concerning. The front desk said they would investigate, but they never got back to us with an update.

We wouldn't recommend the place.

I booked this hostel because it was closest to where my son lives. It's in a lovely neighbourhood with loads to do in the evening and good transport links into the city and convenient for visoting my son too. My room was large and very clean, and was cleaned daily during my stay which I hadn't expected. The staff are really friendly and it was perfect!

Very nice hostel with a cool vibe and spacious shared areas. Good breakfast, nice outside sitting area. Convenient to take a tram downtown. The one problem is very slow and unreliable wifi in the rooms.

Really lovely hostel, friendly helpful staff, good facilities, nice rooms that are kept un good condition. Despite curfew restrictions good night life and entertainment, food was lovely. No real downsides, we did however have some rude guests who were shouting and banging on room doors having been shut out by friends at 3am! However this isnt really the hostel's fault.

Good comfortable stay all in all and would recommend.

very good overall, maybe the room could have been warmer, the shower room water was overflowing at any short or long shower, the water was hot then cold at intervals. we also thought we had a free minifridge bar but we didn't, and never found out but for the rest we had a very good stay.

Good for what it is. Private room in hostel. Very basic. No TV or phone. No kettle, cups or complimentary tea/coffee. One towel and locker. Need own lock. Bed not the most comfortable but not the worst either. Room big and felt secure. Nice hi ceiling and large windows. Being in hostel I expected it to be noisy but room is in private area away from dorms. Stayed weekend so there was music in bar until about 12.30am but very feint so didn't disturb. The hostel itself is good - a little expensive but good value for Amsterdam. Breakfast is basic and paid separately and wasn't worth it. Staff friendly but reception is busy being a hostel. Overall my stay was good and I would stay again.

Room price was a little steep for a family of 6, but we probably could have gotten a better price had we booked the room earlier. No frills room (3 bunk beds), private bathroom and shower (towels or shampoo not provided). Husband was a little shocked that we literally had to make our own beds (not that easy on the top bunk). However, we were (or should have been) aware of all this as it was all exactly as advertised). Lobby area was awesome - one of the best gathering places I’ve seen, with many games and cozy chairs provided. Breakfast was excellent at a good price (7 Euro per person). Hostel was easily reached via tram from the central train station. Would recommend.

Great little find, check in was really informative and staff behind the desk were very helpful with recommendations for restaurants and public transport advice such as night buses. The location was great, a 10 minute walk from the train from the airport and a minute or so from the tram into town. The room was very basic as you'd expect, but clean and spacious. We had breakfast included within the cost of our stay and it was definitely worth it. Coffee/tea and juice on tap with varied options for a continental style breakfast. It seemed like a lot of guests picked up enough bread, fruit etc to have a packed lunch too, (great idea) but this didn't cause a problem as staff were replenishing the buffet quickly.

We stayed here for one night. We are a family of 5 and the hostel was perfect for us. There were lots of young travellers but we saw a few families too. I'd definitely recommend; a good option with helpful staff.

Pretty Nice, minus all the noise

Overall a decent hostel. You have to put on your own sheets, and your room does not have a personal area to lock up your belongings. There are lockers downstairs that cost 2euro a day for a small size. There are larger lockers as well, that would fit about one backpack. There is also an open storage room for luggage with no locks. Saw the cleaning lady not change the comforters. We had the luxury of an accessible room, so the shower was very nice, and we only shared with three other people each night. Our first night we actually had the entire room to ourselves, which was nice. The crowd at this hotel is very young which = lots of noise in the halls and just outside the hotel at all hours. The staff did not do anything to mitigate the noise. Breakfast is pretty good, with deli meats and cheeses, as well as yogurt, fruit, and granola/cereal. However, the line is very long on weekend mornings. We would consider staying here again, perhaps not on a weekend.

Clean hotel and the room we stayed in, friendly staff, good location about 5mn walk to nearest tram stop and then 12mn journey to Dam square!! We were 3 so booked a room for 4 for us and we were given a 6 person room! Reasonable prices! Enjoyed it.

Nice hostel in Amsterdam

Me and my friend been in this hostel for 5 days, the room was clean everything was cleasr and tidy. the sheets and blankets where enveloped in a plastic bag and the room was clean. Breakfast was nice but it hasnt a variety of things. Hostel staff very nice and answering all our questions.

What I liked most was the customer service, it was great, they were really helpful. I liked that you could rent bikes from the hostel. The rooms were big but a little run down, only a little though. Overall good stay though I would have loved a few more hot options for breakfast!

Wi-fi doesn't work very well, which was a major problem for me. There are no power outlets in the lobby, which means the only place you can have power and internet service at the same time is in the bar, which was always very crowded and very loud. Sheets are provided; soap and towels are not. A storage locker costs extra, but isn't terribly expensive. The hotel is a long walk from the center of the city, but it's easily accessible by tram. Amsterdam likes to sleep in; don't expect the tram to be running early (if you need to make the airport, for example).

This is a big hostel, used a lot by groups. Clean.

I have stayed here three times and each time it's really good. I like the neighbourhood, its quiet and off-centre but still easy to access. The hostel is large and therefore used by lots of groups. The staff are friendly, the breakfast good and laid-back and the rooms comfortable. The bar is also well run and friendly. There are paid-for lockers in reception at 2 euro per 24 hr, you can access your stuff as often as you like in this time. Recommended!

It was not too far from the station and easy to find. Rooms were nice and clean with good storage. Staff were very friendly with good service. Food was great and bar is good for deals plus happy hour and pool table, darts and table football.

Stayokay is about the worst hotel that I've ever stayed in! The best part is that it includes breakfast. Otherwise, it's awful. The room is super cold and you can't control your own heating/airconditioning. And you have to buy your own towels and they are waaaaaaaayyyyyy overpriced! Don't listen to what the other nice reviews about the Stayokay Hotel. So do not stay here. It is not okay and it's Amsterdam's shameful part! Also, schools with students stay there and they are so loud and noisy that it would be incredible that you can go to sleep well! And the worst thing is that you can't even bring food from outside into the hotel! Say you went shopping at a store and you want to bring it into your room. Well you can't! So you have to go outside and eat in the freezing night!!! So.. overall... it's HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!! HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!! HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!

Hostel was basic but clean. Slightly out of the way in quite a dodgy area of Amsterdam. I saw two incidents during the evening where police were involved as youths were fighting.

Lots of young high school children in the Hostel, which made it quite noisy at night. There were restrictions on noise levels (ie no noise after 22;00 but this did not seem to be enforced).

Really lovely buffet breakfast with excellent coffee.

Great hostel for backpacking

A great place to stay and meet people, the only downside for me is that there are no kitchen facilities, no kettle or microwave. These facilities would have vastly improved my stay as when you are on a budget being able to cook yourself is very important.

A good example of this type of hostel

As \"HI-style\" hostels go this is a good example. Not right in the centre but not far away and location is quiet and pleasant. No problems with the service. Free wifi, but only in reception area. Breakfast included in the price. With this type of hostel you might find a school group or two there, but as long as you know what to expect you won't be disappointed. I would stay there again.

Not a bad experience. But , I really didn't like the towel policy. The front desk justified this policy for hygienic reasons (!?!?). Next time, may be I will travel with my own pillow, sheets and mattress or I will buy a brand new at the front desk to follow the hygiene rules.

As it was my first stay in a hostel I was quite nervous about it. However, I was pleasantly surprised. As we have booked a room with our own shower, 2 of us were staying in a room with 6 beds. Of course there was nothing special about the room or 2 level beds, but it was clean and that's what matters. I was also surprised with the breakfast that was included in the price. The choice was good and again - it was clean. So for the price we've paid (£69 for 2 ppl for 2 nights) it was really decent. I would definitely stay there again.

I have been to this hostel for a weekends trip to Amsterdam. I did not have experience of staying in hostels much but definitely I can say this is not a hostel. We can consider it as a hotel itself. It provides all kind of service starting from : breakfast (included in booking), dinner (you need to pay extra) , vending machines for soft drinks and chocolates, canal cruise tickets (with a much discounted price), GVB pass for city trip. Overall it was a fantastic stay and reception was very helpful and kind. The hotel location was great, one can reach any city center location within 10-15 minutes. I will recommend this hostel to others.

Good cheap hostel but far out of amsterdam.

Good, low budget hostel. Free breakfast was good quality though no hot food and not a great deal of choice.

e.g. white/brown organic bread, jam, selection of cheeses/ham, cornflakes, yogurt and boiled eggs.

Rooms were clean, tidy, though you have to make your own bed. Also the lights in the toilet go out every minute which is a pain. The toilet/bathroom facilities are not great.

Be warned the hostel is far out and a good 40 minute walk to any of the major attractions. You must be comfortable with public transport. The trams leave near by and are fairly cheap. I recommend 'iam amsterdam card'.

Girls weekend away

Travelled with friends for a girls weekend away. Hostel was easy to find (number 14 tram stops a few metres away). 10 minute tram ride to the city centre - Rembrandt square is full of bars and restaurants. Our room was massive with tall ceiling, 2 toilets and a shower. Beds were comfortable and heating nice and warm. Very secure hotel with your key card letting you into the building then onto the floor you are staying on an then your room. Reception staff were very helpful with directions etc. plus you can buy tram and attraction tickets here. Overall had a very enjoyable stay and would defiantly return to Amsterdam and the stayokay hostel.

This hostel is better than hotels I have stayed in. They put 2 of us in a private 6 person room just because we wanted our own shower and toilet. Breakfast is great and you could go back up for more anytime. Slightly out of centre but only 5 minutes by the number 14 tram or 30 minutes walk. Rent bikes from the hotel they're great.

Clean and comfortable, but out of the way

Very new, clean, and comfortable hostel, but it's a bit out of the way (in Zeeburg). You'll definitely need to buy public transportation passes (~7.00 Eur for daily) in order to get to all the sights. Also a bit of an older crowd -- if you're hoping to meet other young travelers, look elsewhere. Having said that, if you want a clean, cheap room and you don't mind the out of the way location, it's a good option.

El hostal por fuera bonito, por dentro terrible, olor a marihuana y muchas botellas de cerveza por los pasadizos, el espacio de la habitación pequeña éramos 5 personas no había espacio para poner las maletas, el precio exorbitante para el servicio brindado, no brindan jabón, ni champú para el aseo.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hat bei allen Fragen und Unklarheiten weitergeholfen. Außerdem ist es ein einfach gehaltenes Hotel, die Zimmer sind gemütlich ausgestattet. Die Lobby war das schönste. Sehr liebevoll und freundlich hergerichtet. Getränke und Essensangebot war gut. Allerdings ein 0. 33 Bier für 5€ ist meiner Meinung nach zu viel. Was auch nicht so schön war, dass es unten in der Lobby, auf den Sofen und den Sesseln dreckig war... Verklebte Tische und überall Brösel. Ansonsten ein super Hotel mit gutem Service. Ich kann es wieder empfehlen.

가격차이가 너무 많이 나서 현재 호스텔 매니저와 이메일로 대화 중입니다. 호스텔 매니저는 최선을 다 하고 있더군요. 이 부분에 대해서 호텔스 닷컴은 전화 문의만 가능하도록 되어있지 이메일로는 안되더군요. 해외에 있으면서 이런 문제에 대해 모국어로 대화 할 수 있는 지 없는 지에 대해 알 수도 없는데 고객과의 소통을 전화로만 하려고 하는 무책임한 대응에 실망했습니다. 저한테는 가격차이에 대한 이유를 알 권리가 충분히 있다고 생각하며 문제 해결을 위해 무슨 짓이든 할 것입니다.

Super Hostel mit stylischer Ausstattung, verschiedenen Auswahlmöglichkeiten an Zimmern und einer super Anbindung an öffentliche Verkehrsmittel. Wir haben ca. 20 min. bis zum Zentrum gebraucht. Dazu noch recht günstig. Kann es jedem nur weiterempfehlen.

Hostel Boutique

Apesar de ter um clima mais descontraído, era um hostel boutique cheio de regras que foge um pouco da ideia de hostel, inclusive que não pode levar comida ou preparar algo em algum microondas. Tinha muita criança com cerca de 13 anos de idade hospedados que ficavam correndo e fazendo barulho a todo momento. As comidas, bebidas e itens para consumo eram muito caros em comparação a outros hostels que conhecemos em Amsterdam. A parada do trem é bem próxima e leva para o centro da cidade e as principais atrações turísticas com muita facilidade.

Tolles Hostel mit guter Anbindung.

Das Hostel liegt in einer ruhigen Wohngegend. Die Anbindung an die City ist sehr gut und auch die in unmittelbarer Entfernung gelegene Einkaufsstraße Molukkenstraat bietet vieles. Ich werde wieder hier Urlauben.

Todo bien.

Buen hostal, aunque no esta del todo cerca del casco antiguo, esta en una zona que tienes cerca bares, mercados, tiendas etc. Recorrimos la ciudad a pie.
