Our stay was lovely. Rooms are spacious and have everything you need.

My only complaint would be that the cleaner did not clean our room everyday even though this was requested. And on the final day she knocked at our door at 11.50. 10 minutes before check out time of 12 to essentially kick us out the room to clean, which was ironic and a bit rude.

When we checked in the bed had hair in it and the rug was dirty. The hallways smelled damp. There was no air circulation so when we took a shower it got really humid. Also, a silverfish fell on me when I was in the bathroom, further confirming the humidity and air circulation issue. I would be concerned about mould in this hotel, since it seems like there is no circulation and high humidity.

The neighbourhood is cute, but difficult to get in and out of unless you’re using Uber. There isn’t too much around but it’s a nice view of the harbour and a handful of cafes nearby. If you’re looking to explore Amsterdam proper I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

The rooms are very bare bones and seemed rush (peeling wallpaper, etc.) and some parts seem unfinished. There are basically no amenities and we didn’t have enough towels in our unit. I’m surprised at the very least that this hotel does not have a fitness centre. Getting into the hotel through the double doors is annoying, since you have to wait for one door to close before the next opens and it takes forever.

The staff was the redeeming quality of this place— super friendly, they got us an early check in and were kind.

Overall this was a subpar experience. With some actual work on the ventilation and a couple of amenities improvements for guest experience, this could be a fantastic hotel.

The room and hotel were very nice, and the breakfast was good. Unfortunately, two members of staff significantly affected our overall experience.
At breakfast, I politely asked a staff member if there was more scrambled egg available. She responded in a rude and dismissive tone, saying the kitchen staff were busy. Although she eventually brought more, the interaction was unnecessarily uncomfortable.
More concerning was what happened after check-out. While at the airport, we received bank alerts showing the hotel was attempting to charge €300 to our cards without any prior communication or authorisation. When I called, a staff member incorrectly claimed that our booking had not been fully paid, despite this having been confirmed at both check-in and check-out. I was told to call back later.
On my second call, another staff member admitted it was their mistake and that the booking had indeed been fully paid. However, no apology was offered. Attempting to charge our cards without authorisation, especially after one had only been used for a small purchase, is unacceptable. The lack of accountability and communication was extremely disappointing.

Rooms:
We had a normal double.
The room was nice and spacious, the only bad thing about the room was the yellow-ish sink that could do with a bit of scrubbing.

Accessibility:
The hotel is accessible to the tram, 9 mins away to get the 2 changes tram to the city centre or there’s a bus aswell I believe. We did had a few ubers since it was a few of us.

Facilities:
Please make sure you buy bottled water from the shop, they sell their big water for £8.50 (complete joke) and £3.50 for the small one. You then have to pay £20.00 for a European connector as they don’t lend it to the guest.

Breakfast:
The lady who checks in the guest for breakfast is really nice, always the same energy every morning, the rest of the breakfast staff are really nice and very helpful too.

Really enjoyed my time at this hotel. The walk to the tram stations is manageable normally, but dragging a heavy suitcase through snow and ice made it feel longer than it actually is.
The staff at check in were excellent. Kate at the reception desk deserves a mention because she was incredibly friendly and genuine. Honestly, she’s the main reason I’m giving 5 stars.
Would definitely stay here again next time I’m in Amsterdam.

I was really disappointed with my recent stay at the Holiday Inn with my family. The room wasn’t serviced properly — the hand wash was empty, the cups and coffee weren’t replenished, the bins weren’t emptied, and the beds weren’t made. For a hotel of this standard, I expected basic housekeeping to be consistent each day. Unfortunately, the lack of attention to detail made the stay far less comfortable than it should have been. Such a shame as the hotel itself looks great and good location. Close to transport, local restaurants and supermarket.
The desk staff did refund the city tax payment as a gesture of goodwill, which although appreciated felt like the least they could do.

I stayed here with some friends and for a group of three of us the room was really spacious which we really liked. However the hotel is very masculine and the lighting is quite dim, the masculinity also seems to be present in the brutalist architecture and decoration of the rooms. The room was clean however was quite dusty. The hotel is a great place to stay in terms of being able to get to the Amsterdam central easily, the bus stop is a 5 ish mins walk away and there is also tram options too. I am happy with my stay at the niu.

There is only a black out curtain in the room and the windows are huge and looking directly into other windows. There is no privacy screen that lets in light.
Breakfast price is high.
Hotel is clean, staff are nice, room size is perfect.
Is a hike from the centre of the city which is great for getting away from the noise but a workout for your legs or wallets.

I really like the location and staff. They are very friendly and professional. This trip we found the grounds were full of trash that people left. It’s unfortunate people leave their trash for others to clean up. The housekeeping was not good . One day they left a do not disturb sign on our door . The other day they attempted to make our bed but it was very u professional. The halls had not been vacuumed and there was food in the hall.

The staff were very friendly and provided a quick check-in/out experience. The room was very clean and spacious. The design of the room was elegant and I liked that there was no carpet other than an area rug under the bed. The bed was quite comfortable and my daughter enjoyed the sofa bed which could easily sleep two people. I liked that they made it so the doors were soft close so you didn't hear them slamming shut when people would leave their rooms. The only noise we really heard was when the people above were stomping around which is typically in most hotels. The only negative is the hotel is not close to the attractions, food or shopping and it is a bit of a walk to the bus stops.

Although not in the city center, this gem of a hotel is really only a 10 minute bus ride and short walk away. Everyone was Incredibly professional, accommodating and helpful. The breakfast buffet was wonderful. I would say that the rooms need more lighting- it seemed a bit dark to me. Other than that, I Highly recommend!

Lovely clean and friendly hotel. Beds super comfy. Breakfast plentiful. Loved Amsterdam & Edam & villages. Hotel is a bit of a way from city but so easy to get to on the 22 bus about 8 minute walk,straight to Amsterdam Centraal Station. Beautiful area around hotel ,with a supermarket and other restaurants nearby. We would happily stay here again. Think rooms that overlook other buildings would be better with blinds or a net curtain on windows as they are big. And free tea/coffee facilites in the room ,would be a nice touch ,especially after getting back from the city.
All in all though, a great hotel and would recommend

I can say that it is a hotel with a modern structure, but its rooms do not have intercoms with the concierge, they do not have a simple coffee maker to heat water for tea or coffee available, it does not have a refrigerator with drinks. We had also requested a queen bed and received two single beds joined together, which was very uncomfortable. Finally, despite the technology, we did not have access to a TV considering the difference in networks that each cell phone has. Smartphone TV with apps included would be a good option. Even if these details could be overcome that would make it a 5-star hotel, there is one detail that must be taken into account, which I consider important, and that is the location of the property, which is very beautiful, but it is not a public transportation just 15-minute away walk to area with access public transportation. Private vehicles are not effective because the cost to get to the city center, which is the most common destination, is very low cost and not very beneficial, which makes me suggest that the hotel should have a car service that helps passengers at least get to the public transportation stop both ways, the cost would be minimal considering the cost of the accommodations at this hotel.

The niu was located in a suburban area with little convenience or places to eat out. Not even any tea or coffee facilities in the room. The restaurant had very little choice of food options but the breakfast the next morning was very good. On check out, the receptionist was very unhelpful in booking us a location. She insisted on a precise address despite getting location information from the viking crew.

I will absolutely be booking this hotel for future trips to Amsterdam. I love the area, feels very safe and clean and on a beautiful waterfront. The rooms are large, mine felt like a suite. The main reason I would book this hotel again was the staff. Every person working there was so kind and sweet to my family after a very early flight. Throughout the duration of our 2 day stay they just went above and beyond.

No regrets!

This is a beautiful hotel. I knew we couldn't go bad by picking a Holiday Inn, after seeing all the other options in Amsterdam. We were greeted by nice receptionists that spoke pretty fluently in English which was a huge bonus after our week in Germany. The rooms are large and clean, the bathrooms are a good size as well with rainfall showers. Huge shout out to Niki for his help and knowledge, and the lady behind the bar for her waitress skills (we got dinner there as well). If I had to pick a downfall of staying here, it'd be location. You're walking for at least 25 mins one way to get to something in the town. Not a whole lot next to the hotel yet. There are welcome books at the hotel though which have coupons!! We booked a harbor view room which gave a beautiful wrap around view if the city.

Unfortunately the maids cleaning the rooms started very early from 8 which caused a high pitch noise every day. We asked them to stop but it kept continuing.

It was disappointing that there was no tea or coffee making facilities in the room and if you wanted a coffee you had to go down stairs

Although Hotels.com cancelled my reservation from the hotel instead of showing me as a no-show for late check-in, hotel staff was extremely helpful for finding a solution at the spot. I might not have a place to stay if it wasn't for their incredible kindness to offer me one of the available rooms. I'm terribly sorry that I forgot her name but If i remember correctly Mariana(The hotel manager) is one of the nicest people you can find around Amsterdam. Thanks to her and other crew members for their kindness and helpfullness. In addition you can rent a bike from the hotel also, so that was a great plus for me. Discussing! Bulbs were so low volt it was impossible to read by! Kitchen chairs in so called premium rooms. Had to get a 3 person room to get a couch to sit on. But most of all, breathing in mold for 4 nights!
You can even smell it in the halls!

Staying at the Niu Fender was a unique experience, check in was slow however the room was pleasant. After this, it seemingly went down hill. 1st two staff barged into our room despite a “do not disturb” sign being displayed as they had us checking out on the wrong day… went to reception to resolve the issue and was given a free drink voucher. Thought this would be the last issue however no, another staff member barged into our room 2 days later.. again with a “do not disturb” sign up yelling “maintenance”.. we then tried to enter our room later in the day but the keys did not work as again they had our check out date wrong and disabled our key cards. All in all the room was ok but the staff need further training on their booking system.

This property is located in an isolated area, not connected to market. They don't have dinning or kitchen except for breakfast. If you order food from outside you have to go down to the reception to receive it everytime. No public transport available nearby. I would not recommend this hotel for tourists.

The staff was friendly and helpful, the service excellent. Very clean. Location was within cycling distance to the centre of town. What let the experience down was no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. You have to go downstairs to reception and pay for a cup of coffee €4, or €3 for tea. We stayed for a week and craved a cup of ‘home made tea’. I think this place is fine if you’re not a big tea drinker.
