Bed Sheets were not changed, pillows were dirty, room absolutely stank. I Took a video of bed bugs and all the staining, had to get the room changed once I showed the staff the video.
I’ve been bitten LOADS by bed bugs.
Will not be coming here again, I’d strongly advise against this place. For your sanity and your health.

Clean sheets but used and not clean matress. The floor is with very old, used and dirty carpet. The furniture and the WC was ok, but that should not be allowed to use that carpet in a Hotel with those prices. Need a quick intervention!

You definitely get what you pay for with this, and we were there just one night. I will start off saying staff was nice and it was a great location. But the checking in at the hotel a few days down was kinda strange. Immediately walking in the property I could tell it was not clean. The entrance is very dirty. The room size was what I expected, however the floors had white stains all over them. The sheets and towels were clean at least. The worst part though is now that I’m home I have bite marks all over my back and right arm. Looking at other reviews it seems this hotel has had issues with bed bugs. While the price was good for just a night and it was a good location, and friendly staff, I would likely not stay at this location again.

Bed bugs - didn't care.

I mean, I knew this was a budget stay, so I wasn't expecting much. We just needed a place to sleep and shower while we got on the more important business of exploring Amsterdam. But the rooms were tiny, hot, dirty, dark, and even though they had heat pumps/air conditioning, we had no control over the temperature, so it made them way less helpful. Those things would all be fine, given that I knew it was a budget stay. The problem was the bugs. There was bed bugs. I'm no entomologist, but I'm pretty sure those are bed bugs. I showed reception, and all he said was \"Sorry, man\". Didn't care very much, didn't offer anything. So, I'd say skip this one, and gamble it with another place to stay.

They were very accommodating and helpful. The room was small but fine for our purpose but it had a soft spot in the mattress and should have been replaced. Lots of hot water and a great location! Whenwe come again to Amsterdam we would stay there again.

There is no lift and my room was on fifth floor.
The bathroom with attached toilet was stinking all the time.
The hotel was also stinking bad.
The staff arranged for a change of bedsheet & towel because the one we got were dirty. I couldn't use the blanket it was really old and had a stench. They also allowed us to store luggage after checkout, so I was able to roam the city freely. I wouldn't recommend it for someone who cares about hygiene.

Staff were friendly but the building is in dire need of refurbishment. The doors, stair carpets and foyer all quite dirty and dated. The room itself, basic. Bed was comfortable but lining, inside pillows and mattress were all stained. Carpets in the room were also stained. The bathroom seemed as though it has recently been updated so was fine. No sound insulation to the room and as my room backed onto the stairwell, incredibly noisy.

Budget friendly hotel, can't complain for the price compared to other hotels in Amsterdam. Check in is at another hotel a couple of doors down, not a problem at all. The check in was quick and easy, with friendly staff, a deposit is taken in cash for all guests but is returned at check out in cash. The actual hotel had a vending machine in hallway which was good. The hallway had a bad smell but was clean. The room was small but clean, usual for budget hotels so no problem. Double bed with plug sockets on one side, large window onto the Main Street, walk in shower and storage for bags. About an 30 min walk to Dam Square down one main road with shops, bars etc. Overall, I would stay again as a good budget by option.

Cheap but worth shortfalls for central location.

We booked this hotel because of the really central location for the price, and the reviews on hotels.com weren't too bad but after booking I looked at google reviews and was horrified as they were much worse. We were so worried after that because of reports of bedbugs and dirty rooms etc but after arriving it was actually fine for the price and location, you get what you pay for. The room was dirty round the edges but the bed linen was clean and we checked the mattress for signs of bedbugs but didnt find anything. The mattress did have some stains but it was comfy enough. Our twin room had a balcony and we could see some mattresses and bed bases discarded out the back so I assume they did deal with the bedbug issue.
The bathroom was very small but looked like it had been done up more recently than the rest of the room and was fine for a 3 night stay.

Everywhere was walkable within 30 mins and it is right next to the Heineken experience!
The lady at hotel reception who checked us in was lovely and the other hotel you have to check in is literally 30seconds away from aston city.
If you are happy with a basic room and arent too fussy to get a great budget trip for a fraction of the price of other central hotels then I recommend.

Don't make the same mistake I did. The only time I forget to read reviews.
Firstly the check in reception wasn't even at the same hotel
The hallway and stairs to our room were so dirty, there was carpet stains everywhere as well as in our room
In our room there were stains on the floors and walls, the hairdryer didn't work, the shower leaked out the sides, there was a window showing the hallway, you could hear every conversation from people coming up the stairs
And the worst thing, bed bugs. I was making the bed and there was one just chilling there
I have photo proof of everything. Don't stay in this hotel

Clean enough, great location next to the Heineken brewery, plus walking distance to the city centre and a few blocks from my favourite drinking area called Leidseplein. Would've been nice to have a kettle to make tea, but i liked it.

Avoid At All Costs - Saving Money Isn’t Worth It

Absolutely horrible experience! Arrived very late at night to find we had to check in at another hotel down the road, and when we got to Aston city we wished we hadn’t.

The entryway was filthy and used like a dumping ground, there was no lift (only very steep winding stairs with peeling carpet), and the room itself was horrible. The carpet was stained and the room had an overall horrible smell. The mattresses were stained and even some of the sheets had unknown masks. The bathroom was so tiny that having a shower drenched the entire room.

Worst hotel room I’ve ever stayed in and I wouldn’t have stayed in it had it not been for only 1 night. Horrible.

Cannot recommend avoiding this hotel enough!

Overally for us as a couple who just wanted to sleep there was ok. Although our room was in the 5th floor without elevator. The staircase didn't smell good and the double bed was made of two single mattresses. The good pints were the cleanless of the room and toilet and warm water and the staffs. There was a deposit of 50 euros for the room.

Aston Hotel is urgently in need of renovation and better organizing of the facilities. They put the dirty laundry in the entrance, leave things like broom and mop also in the entrance, the carpet on the stairs is very old and dusty, there are a lot of cracks in the wall and the soda machine was not functioning during my 2 night stay in Amsterdam..

There was no ventilation whatsoever in the room. There was an AC unit that barely worked. To add to the problem, it just felt like heat was constantly being pumped into the room. The bathroom was a wet sopping mess because the shower would just be all over the floor. We were given two towels each that were literally threadbare with missing patches of fabric. There was no shampoo or conditioner given, which is one thing, however, there was not even hand soap for the toilet. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable. But the location was nice. Very conveniently located near all of the metro and trams!

Its very run down and without elevator. We have to move 3 big luggages up the stairs and we thought we will give it a try. Carpet has stain, the hanger in toilet is broken, the tv off by itself in 15mins, pillow is yellow and there's hair on the sheets!!! There's no housekeeping and if you request for it, you need to pay. Makes us wonder if the sheets was ever changed.

We did not last 1 night and upon checking out, the receptionist didnt even look suprise. Guess this happened many times.

It was a great stay the room was clean, can control the radiator to ur own personal heat. We got a room with a huge window also that looked out onto the canal which I personally loved and the shower was fabulous. I’d recommend bringing your own hairdryer though as the one we have in the rooms are a bit weak for thick hair. Our television worked but it had no signal but we weren’t too pushed on that as we only went back to the room to sleep really. Overall was a pretty comfortable stay the room was fabulous just the fact there’s no elevator and the stairs are pretty dangerous and you can hear the busy street outside would be the only down fall!!

After reading all the awful reviews we were very stressed about what we would find on arrival.
The hotel is dilapidated, the hallway is pretty gross but the actual room was ok. Its basic at best, dated and not amazingly clean.
To be honest, we paid about £40 per person per night for a very central place to sleep and while i wouldnt queue up to stay there again it was cheap and budget friendly.

A stay of 3 nights (double single room / beds) that turned out to be a nightmare. Room was extremely dirty and dusty - From floors to ceiling. Hard to breath due to the dust and old \"wet mold\" smell. Bathroom was renovated and clean so that was indeed great.. There was hair in the bed. Pillows were not clean and smelled old mold. Mattresses were old and disgustingly stained. To get new towels (even if others were dirty) we were to be charged for it.
Horrible black mold could be seen around the entrance, up the stairs. If you have children or suffer from asthma do NOT book this hotel. Not worth the risk.
I do NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. Hotel Management needs to put some effort into making sure they invest in and keep up with basic hotel stuff e.g. clean mattresses, bed sheets and pillows, clean and dust.

Photos and description looked okay and price while cheaper than other options (£100 a night), so we weren’t expecting the ritz, we at least expected what we paid for through the booking website. To say it didn’t meet the basic description or the photos used is as understatement.

You have to check in at the neighbouring hotel blossoms. The actual entrance to this hotel looks like the entrance to a halfway house. On our second night we saw a rodent in the foyer which we reported to the sister hotel reception. The carpets are stained and it’s generally filthy. The hotel made us pay a €50 deposit for damages which in hindsight was hilarious given the general state of the room.

Onto our room. Very small with radiator not attached to wall it just sits on the floor. No drink making facilities (we were sold that there was) and actually we were told no drinks allowed in the room. Not even a coffee?! The linen looked okay on the whole as did the towels but the double Bed was in two halves with a topper and they don't stay together so drift about. I had to remake the bed each morning as we were falling down the gap. The hotel did not remake the bed or sheets once over the 3 nights
The curtains do not draw to close and cover all the windows I had to use hair clips to get them to stay shut over the windows and stay in place while we slept or got changed but there was still large gaps which let in light from the traffic below.

The matress was poor so we didnt sleep very well and you can hear everyone comming in due to the front door slamming and the stairs echo around the building with everyone comming and going.
We only used the room to sleep and was out all day so it will do for a night or 2 break by our 3rd night we were ready to go home and have a good nights sleep

Our first room had stains and hair all over the bed and rubbish underneath so we asked to switch (the staff member at this time was very kind!) Second room was equally filthy with a disgusting stained ceiling and a hairdryer that nearly blew up in our hands. How ever this room was \"even better\" as we had air con! But had to go to another hotel to get the singular remote.
The entire place is stained, filthy and the whole atmosphere felt unsafe. Especially with no reception except located in a seperate hotel down the road. Really enjoyed our multiple trips in the rain to speak with the desk. We had to pay immediately to stop elsewhere (shout out to ibis styles just down the road! Legends)
We DID get our deposit (€50 surprise on the door!) back, as well as the city tax. How ever we haven't received any support or much information for a refund for the stay.
When we were complaining, the staff on the desk were dead silent, no apology, they know how bad it was.

A very disappointing stay

This was a very disappointing stay for me, my wife and a family member who had another room.

First the good things. Hot water in the shower on demand and fairly comfortable bed.

Now the bad. The check in was in a property a couple of buildings close. The check in process wasn't a problem but this in itself has other repercussions because on two nights in a row another guest or guests started smoking in the building. Rooms had air conditioners, not working. There is only one window (that doesn't open) and a ventilation shaft in the room that for some reason the other side is inside the building, on the stairs. That is why the smell of smoke entered our room. That ventilation shaft is not enough and without the air conditioning working, the room always felt damp and the humidity didn't had anywhere to scape.

There was a hair dryer in our room. Didn't work. I ask the other family member and he didn't even had hair dryer in his room.

And the most disappointing aspect is the state of the hotel. It's looks very run down. Scratches on most walls, thing broken, the vertical post of the handrails some were broken, the carpets in a lot of places were scratched, the door to enter the building sometimes didn't close and in my room 303 the headboard of the bed had a nail with the head out. You can get a bad cut with that.

I'm really sorry to give this review. Me and my wife are very forgiving for this stuff. It gives me no pleasure.

Disappointed is an understatement

The only thing that was good about this hotel was the location and the lady at the front desk of blossom hotel was very polite and helpful. Other than that I would never recommend this hotel to anyone, the room was in poor condition, extremely tiny and barely any space. Two tiny pillows and a duvet that only covered one person fully. No kettle or mirror in the room. Only one mirror in the bathroom. When you turn the shower on, the water would spray all over the bathroom to the point that the floors were soaking wet and the toilet got a daily wash from it too. Very noisy as we were on the ground floor by the entrance so constantly kept hearing the front door being slammed shut. Our key card also stopped working numerous times but we did manage to sort this out by going to blossom hotel each time it failed to let us in our room. The towels are tiny and the linens in general didn’t look clean at all. Luckily I had my own pillow case to cover what looked like a dirty one. The room would only get cleaned if you contact the hotel so basically on request otherwise it doesn’t get cleaned. Disappointed is an understatement.
We did try to cancel the booking but hotels.com did nothing to push for it and just tried to blame the hotel. A real lack of customer service on hotels.com’s part.

Great location, lovely staff, nice cat!
small room with a few hooks to hang clothes on, a few coat hangers would have been useful.
window into the stairwell means its quite loud in the room at night but it was clean enough and a great place to sleep & shower whilst exploring Amsterdam.
No problems with it but not a place to stay if you want somewhere to hang clothes/ spacious room.

Don't bother... They need to revamp their accommod

Cob webs in the corners, mould In the bathroom, can see previous leaks In the ceiling, broken door frame, stained mattresses and so on...

They did not put any bed sheets down, but duvet covers down as a bed sheet... A duvet cover is not as wide as a bedsheet, so you turn and the duvet comes off and exposes stained mattresses.. everyone one was badly stained.

Tbh it's bad even for a hostel, no way would I call it a hotel.

To start with this will be a positive review for all those who feels hopeless like me after booking. So you know by now that prices are mad in AMS. In here you get what you pay for - considering the location. Possibly on the outskirts of the city you might get more value for your money but if you want to be in the center and close to attractions then this is an OK place to stay. I read all the review so we came prepared 😀 we got our own towel and bedsheet 😂 towels and bedding indeed had some holes or stains BUT they were washed! Simply they extremely old and used. Room is small but work a 2-3 it would do unless you carry a lot of bags. We had just two backpacks so it was ok for us. Room is old but our one (we might have been lucky) was definitely cleaned and there was no dust or dirt. Bathroom was cleaned nicely too and shower had hot water and good pressure. You do need to use one towel to put it on the floor as indeed there is no door to close the shower so floor gets wet easily. We closed the door to the bathroom when we were leaving for the day so the unpleasant smell didn’t go to the room but to be honest in our case it wasn’t anything that horrible that you could not stand. There were curtains in the windows and you could open them the air the room. I do recommend taking a flip flops as you can see that carpet is old and even when hoovered dirty and unpleasant to walk bare foot. Our own bedsheet helped as it connected two single beds and made sleeping more comfortable

The staff were amazing, very willing to accomidate us and fix whatever shortcomings we had with the property. The facilities however not so much... The plumbing was bad and they should really change the carpet it wqs discusting. That would really make a difference with this property. The area is nice and the people were great!

Room was so dirty carpet was stained badly. I don’t think the bedding was changed before our arrival. Since we state five nights to give us a free cleaning service which wasn’t a very good clean isn’t a lift which isn’t really good on your legs.and

Great location. However hotel was very dated and in need of a deep clean and refurbish. Bleach and stains all over the carpets, and cracks and chips all over the walls. Our bedroom had 1 curtain missing too meaning we woke up very early every morning with the light.

CHEAP STAY BUT NOT RELAXING

The room is quite small and the shower drain was clogged, no shower screen so when you shower water goes everywhere and starts to puddle where the toilet is so I have to put the towel on the floor to absorb it. My room is in the fifth floor without elevator so it is hard to move the baggages. However, great location with lots of amenities within walking distance.

- Bring your bed sheet and towels
- Suitable for people with small baggages.

This property is a run down dump! Filthy torn carpeting, holes in walls,dirty bedding..altogether a grim horrible place place to stay!! AVOID AT ALL COST!! They have the audacity to take 50 euros deposit too!! Never stayed in such a place in my life.Expedia should not be advertising this propert!!

Look, this place is what it is. Cheap for the location. We stayed during a heatwave, the room didn’t have A/C which was a killer. The rooms were not made up over night and we didn’t receive fresh towels. romantic weekend away, forget about it. Lads cheap trip who only want a bed to sleep, PERFECT.

Room was tiny, bathroom was in a closet with a hole in the sliding door. no shower screen so when you shower water goes everywhere and starts to puddle where the toilet is, there was a little excrement on the floor when we arrived, had to clean ourselves. Old food under the radiator. Hairdryer didn't work at all. All round poor hotel, recommend not staying here.

Good basic room with small but nicely updated bathroom. Hotel is on a very busy street, but no noise from the street came into our room. Noises within the building were a problem. Our room had a window onto the stairwell, and all noises from or around the stairwell were carried clearly to our room.

We understand that Amsterdam is a crowded and busy city, but we still surprised by how small the room was, with a window that didn't open. The Room smelt of cigarette smoke, the bed sheet was torn. The staff were very helpful though. I will not be coming back.

The room was very unclean, carpet was practically crawling and full of dirt. Bed sheets and towels smelt clean but we’re covered in stains, and blood stains on the wall of the room. Actual building itself looks derelict with blood stains on walls. Staff were okay & check in easy - note 50 euro deposit required and taxes per person on top of hotel charge. Would not recommend DO NOT stay here

Location is perfect and friendly stuff otherwise as room so small not clean at all very very very bad rotten smell came from the room carpet the owner have to take serious action for the cleaning and the smell to be able just to sleep over on it and also sheets and towels was dirty and with many cuts horrible 😡 and after we booked anon refundable we found many near options with same price and better condition was a very bad luck
