The room was ok, the flooring was hard underfoot in the whole room, the mattress was two singles loosely held together with a bed sheet which made for a very uncomfortable sleep, the mattress’ were very small and hard, the bed frame itself was about 1.2 times bigger than the mattress which meant you were stubbing your toes on the frame all the time, a dirty bed sheet not be replaced for a few days, the hot tap in the bathroom was scalding hot, we arrived and there was a light that wouldn’t turn off

This hotel is lovely. I found the staff to be pleasant and helpful, the rooms are beautifully appointed and close enough to Amstel station to be able to get anywhere in the city whenever needed but far enough to avoid crowds and tourists. I’d definitely use this property again.

What would have been a five star review will now be a three star review, let me tell you why:

Our initial experience of checking into the hotel was great, the person who checked us in was very friendly. We dropped our bags and decided to go into the city to have dinner.

On coming back to our hotel room, we realized there was a very strong sewage smell coming from the bathroom, basically intoxicating the entire room.
We called the lobby and asked them to immediately transfer us to a different room. But instead of trying to find a way to solve our issue, the person on night duty very arrogantly and very rudely said ‘what do you want me to do?’, as if I was supposed to suggest a solution for him. I asked him to see if there were other rooms available and he said we are fully booked and there’s not a single room available. So I asked him to send someone up to take a look at the bathroom to fix it. To it she also responded that there was nobody available until the morning. Keep in mind, that the smell was absolutely disgusting. No one should be allowed to sleep in a room that smells like sewage.

I then told him to come to the room and smell it for himself, as soon as he entered the room, he very rudely and arrogantly looked at me and said ‘what smell?’ as if I was lying. After going into the bathroom and smelling it, he arrogantly walked out of the room without saying a word and came back magically with another room key in a hotel supposedly without anymore rooms.

Happy with our stay at Hotel V Fizeaustraat. Short walk to Amstel Station which was definitely very convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was nice and our room was spacious and stylish. The hotel in general was quiet.

The only thing I was slightly confused about was housekeeping. We kept putting the sign out requesting no housekeeping or towels (save their time and be eco-conscious but they kept coming anyway.) not a huge bother by any means but maybe it could be more clear about where to put the sign if we were putting it in the wrong place?

Would definitely stay here again. Thanks for the nice accommodations.

We found the location easily accessible into Amsterdam Central using the nearby Metro. The hotel itself was clean, safe, modern and the bar had excellent cocktail and small bites. We had breakfast which again was very lovely and all staff were friendly and welcoming throughout. The rooms were lovely, spacious and clean. It felt more like a little apartment than a room. Adored the styling of the rooms, bed was super comfy and will 100% be coming back.

The front desk staff was always available to answer any questions and provide assistance. The room and beds were comfortable and enjoyed having a quiet space to come back to after traveling around Amsterdam. My friend and I loved how close the hotel was in walking distance Amstel Station or having the bus right across the street. We truly loved on King's Day we found little crowns on our pillows and the hotel offered wine to each guest to celebrate the holiday. Highly recommend staying and can't wait to visit again!

The hotel is beautiful! Such a pretty and boho vibe to it, extremely clean and the rooms are perfect! The staff here are incredible and cannot do enough for you. They are so friendly and welcoming, they are there for any advice and want to make your stay as perfect as possible. The hotel is located near a metro station so you can easily get to the centre conveniently and cheaply! Only 2 euros! Taxi is about 20/30 euros which we done a couple of times. We also walked it, which is just over an hour if you walk directly there but we stopped off at a couple of bars on the way. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again, it was quite nice to be a little bit away from the business of the centre yet close enough to be there within 20 mins. And it’s always refreshing to stay at a hotel where they actually care about you having a great stay!

Very stylish hotel, great vibe, excellent staff and amazing bar. Very convenient location for public transport and food. Sadly, aircon in rooms 107 and 111 was very noisy and ineffective, the beds were very uncomfortable, even with the addition of mattress toppers from the second night. The advertised bathrobes, slippers and mini-bar were not in the room, only 2 bottles of water.

This hotel was an ideal location for one that was not located in the city center, as it was right next the metro where you can easily access in a short walk.
The staff gave great recommendations on what to visit and where to eat, while also providing exemplary service to us, such as a glass of champagne on check in and complimentary water and apples.
Our room was very spacious and clean, and sleeping was very comfortable in their beds. Overall, an excellent choice for a stay in Amsterdam.

The V hotel is another brunch of V hotel in city center in Amsterdam. This brunch is slightly out of Town 6 station far from City center .We have got 4 night without breakfast on this hotel . Very architectural hotel , every thing is design ,Bar, reception, room ,despite no extra services for an this dear money .
Generously Offers us mini bar in Room ,included, 4 bottle of water, 1 pack of Popcorn and 1 mini pack of nuts.
The tea on the room was not variety ,no English breakfast tea, coffee was very ordinary and you need to use 2 capsule to make it min taste.
Free 1 apple and free water on desk next to reception every day.
Very nice looking hotel but i wouldnt choose next time .

I'll firstly say that the free water and snack bar was a lovely treat. But I would rather have a room I paid for. Staff were helpful and friendly. I didn't like the fact i specifically asked for a double bed but it was 2x single beds just pushed together. This was a 40th Birthday treat for my partner. If I knew that the hotel couldn't provide a double bed then i would have booked another room or another hotel. The beds were uncomfortable resulting in not being able to sleep properly. This caused issues with getting up and making the most of our holiday. When i asked the hotel about it they didn't want to do anything about it. I feel it ruined the stay, partially. We also didn't feel the room was as clean as it should be. I spilled some water on the floor so wiped it up, the tissue was black with dirt. There was a terrible smell in the bathroom at different points in the day. Then the windows were being cleaned in the morning which woke me up. I booked a 4* hotel expecting something a little more special and I don't feel hotel v delivered. Aesthetically, the hotel is pleasing to the eye but doesn't deliver on the 4 * aspects.

Staff service was superb, food and drinks were amazing and the location to the Amstel Station makes it a very convenient and enjoyable experience to get around. My only complaint is that the beds are way too hard, even after asking for a topper (which they sorted out quickly) the bed was still too hard, leaving for sore backs in the morning. But, if you can see past the bed, it’s a treat to stay in.

1970's gem out of center

very pleasant hotel out of the centre of city and away from tourist crowd. Classic '70s building looking a little battered in places but comfortable. The rooms are large with plenty of window which also means they could be a little chilly in November and possibly hot in summer. The climate control was also dated. Pleasant helpful staff fixed coffee machine when we moaned about it. Good but pricey restaurant. Breakfast is a la carte but not a buffet.

I have to say I was surprised by this hotel. One of the best I've stayed in Amsterdam for the price. The staff are super friendly. Rooms are nice design and large. And the lobby bar and restaurant is great. It's our of the centre sonmau not appeal to first timers. But it's a quiet residential neighbourhood a five minute walk to metro and train station and still a nice walk or bike ride into the centre. And lots of other shops and restaurant options within a 10 to 15 minute walk. Will stay again.

Spacious with great vibes

Room was clean and spacious. My second time staying here because I love the location and the hotel vibes. Breakfast is also very good. Only criticism is some bits around the room needs a little maintenance, especially in the shower room. It didn’t bother me as it was still 4 stars+ standard, but it bothered the husband as it wasn’t a cheap stay. I’d personally stay here again though :)

If you pushed for a negative, which there really aren’t any, it’s a little distance from the centre, but the metro, or a bike, make a relatively quick trip. Thanks to Hotel V for a great stay.

Stayed here for several nights while working at the RAI Congress Centre. A short walk to the end of the road and then 3 stops on the Metro so very convenient. Having worked at the RAI quite a few times, I wanted to stay fairly local rather than the city centre. A bit too far to walk every day, but the public transport is fine - until they have a problem and you can't work out the alternative. And then there's Uber, of course!
Hotel in a suburban setting, but plenty of places to eat around the station area. Hotel restaurant is lovely though, as is the bar area. Very comfortable, Nordic style. I only had time for breakfast one morning as it is a la carte, not buffet, but it was very tasty. Loved that there were freebies in the room (who doesn't?!), bottles of water and apples in reception too. Comfortable room and bed. Will definitely stay again if opportunity arises.

What a great hotel! Staff were very welcoming from the minute we walked in the door and a free drink on arrival was a nice touch.
The hotel is very close to Amstel station which meant you were able to get in the centre of Amsterdam in no time at all.
Rooms were spacious and comfortable and we really liked the decor. More free stuff in the rooms too!
Restaurant is pricy but the food is very good! Would highly recommend staying here

This is a very nice hotel! The decor is beautiful and well maintained. The hotel rooms were clean and secure. The food in the restaurant was delicious and not too over priced. I had the blueberry pancakes and they were very filling and made to perfection! The drinks at the bar were good and reasonably priced. The front counter staff was very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The main transportation station is less than a 5 minute, in which you can catch a bus, train or taxi from the location. I spent 3 nights at the hotel. I didn't get to enjoy the terrace due to the constant rain, but the rest of the facilities were perfect. My room was spacious, the bed comfortable, the windows opened and I could control the heat (I turned it off). The minibar was very quiet, didn't wake me up in the middle of the night like it often happens. Had breakfast and lunch at the restaurant on the ground floor and it was as expected: varied menu, friendly staff and not too expensive. Overall a great stay!

It's the 2nd time I stayed in V Hotel. Even though it's not in the city centre it provides good transport links as is 5min walking distance from Amstel station. the rooms are significantly bigger than in any other hotel, very clean with comfortable beds. Dietary needs need to be better catered for

The only negative was the very limited options of Gluten Free food that was available for my daughter. Such a shame as we really liked the hotel and couldn't fault anything else.

Beautiful hotel. Really trendy vibe. Champagne on arrival at check in was a lovely touch and set the mood for a lovely stay. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Free snacks and drinks in the room and minibar. Quiet area so slept well
It is a bit of a trek out of main city but the tramline at Amstelstation is really close to the hotel. Tram 12 takes you anywhere you want to go. Would recommend without question if you don’t mind being a bit out of the city

Next level service, ambiance and amenities!

We were insanely impressed with the Hotel V Fizeaustraat! We were only a 5-minute walk from the train/tram/train station and the neighbourhood felt totally safe. We were greeted after a very long journey by the friendliest, most energetic front desk employees who served us champagne while we checked in! The hotel itself has stunning decor both in the common areas and the rooms. Our room was huge, especially compared to other hotels we have stayed at in Europe. We have a queen bed, sofa, chair, coffee table and great space for clothing storage and desk space. There was a little fridge that was filled with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and snacks for us to enjoy for free upon our arrival. The washroom was gorgeous with a heated towel rack and rainshower. Again, the decor was beautiful with a bo-ho, mid-centrury modern vibe, we loved it. They had awesome toiletries and we could pick up eco-friendly packed water bottles and apples at the front desk every morning. The room was extremely clean and quiet too! The restaurant in the hotel was also AMAZING! It is pricey, but the quality of the food, drinks and service was totally worth it! Overall, we can't say enough good things about this hotel, we LOVED it! Best place we have ever stayed and we would return if we are back in Amsterdam! We also can't believe how affordable it was- we would NEVER get something of equal quality where we are from in Canada. Well done Hotel V!

A very happy stay, sure recommend.

It was an amazing stay, the staff was very friendly and approachable. Everyone was with a smile and polite which we loved from day one. Monica in the bar and Denise (I guess I got their spelling correct) in the restaurant were very helpful and friendly, these are the names I remember but all the staffs were caring and friendly. The stay, food at “The Lobby” , drinks in the bar etc was very good. I would definitely recommend this hotel for Amsterdam stay.
