Very comfortable and clean! Super comfy bed, nice shower, complimentary in-room coffee and tea. A lobby with a cafe and ping pong table. There's a gym in the hotel and Rembrandt Park is a short walk if you're looking for a place to jog or stroll. This hotel is outside of the touristy sections of Amsterdam but is right on a tram stop and metro station so the whole city is easily accessible (approx 20 min to city center). One of the more affordable options we found in Amsterdam and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Only thing I would stress is make sure the windows fully lock. Every time we would close the room door the window would open and the AC would turn off. Aside from that, room was clean and comfortable. Very safe with 2 key entries to get into the building. Close to train stations.

We had a great stay here for our 3 days in Amsterdam! We did not know it was also college housing but we did fine as a 37 yr old married couple. Haha. It is outside of the main city so you do need public transit to get around. But it was easy enough to figure out transportation. We loved saving the money to not be right in the action and just tram it in every day.

Hotel is in a good position just around the corner from the Metro Station. The hotel Entrance is strange as a mountaineers course is required to climb the very steep steps.to gain entry. The place is ideal for the younger generation, not quite so friendly to a more mature person as myself. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The Bathroom had disability facilities but the Dutch must hate the disabled as the wash basin has cold water with warm available once the tap is at full force soaking the person at the sink. The shower unit is a wet-room scenario but someone in their wisdom has placed metal bars on the floor to stop water draining into the waste, so if you choose to have a shower be prepared to spend time mopping up water which can't drain away.
The bathroom made a really very good hotel into an average budget hotel.

Staff was incredibly hospitable, the rooms were clean and comfortable. The location is great since it's right on the M50/51 and another tram line, so we didn't feel like we had any problem getting around the city. Extra touches like a bag of gummies at the end of our stay, letting us store leftovers in the fridge, and the cafe made the Social Hub really lovely!

The property is in a great location despite being slightly out from the centre as the metro and tram are directly outside which provide excellent links. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel provided everything we needed for our stay. Would definitely return!

The actual hotel is okay, but literally just a bed. No even kettle to use or mugs for tea. The area is very convenient but window faces onto train station so extremely noisy and curtain doesn’t close properly so people can see in. Had to ask someone to come close the window for me because you needed a key to do it.

Me and partner have just spent 3 nights here and absolutely loved it! We arrived early for check in but they had our room available straight away and even offered us free biscuits at arrival. The hotel was so clean and quiet was a lovely stay! We also received 2 free drink vouchers Which was a lovely touch. The hotel was in a nice location just 15mins out of the centre on the tram. The facilities were great, free ping pong, pool and foosball and also a relaxing television area, everybody was so friendly and the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful! We stayed in a suite with a queen side bed, the room was emasculate. Bed was so comfy and loved the bathroom. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay it was amazing would definitely be returning!

An overpriced hostel
This hotel is not what it seems. It's more accurately described as an overpriced \"hostel\" than a hotel located in an undesirable neighbourhood with no nearby amenities. The room I was given wasn't properly cleaned, had no air-conditioning, no refreshments (not even water) and had just a very basic bed and a small desk. The lift was broken with no adjacent stairs. I had to complain more than once to get another room in the main building which was a bit better but still not great. At over €100 a night it's extremely poor value for money. Avoid.

My husband, a couple of friends and I stayed at The Student Hotel Amsterdam West for 3 nights. It’s not in the center, but it’s literally a few steps from transportation which makes it super easy to move around. We had a very pleasant experience with the place, the staff is extremely friendly and the facilities are very clean and entertaining. We made a room upgrade to a deluxe suite a few days prior to our stay and we really liked the room. The only thing I’d recommend changing is the carpet (it was a bit rundown and stained) and the shower curtain as it’s not long enough to block the water from getting the bathroom soaked. But as I said we had a very pleasant experience, will recommend it and would like to thank everyone!

Very funky vibe about the hotel. Staff were lovely and very accommodating. Hotel lobby area was very cool with pool tables and ping pong, they even had a bed area with a massive tv and Netflix which was great for relaxing at nighttime. Food at the restaurant was tasty although the bar was expensive considering it’s marketed as a student hotel. Breakfast seemed expensive at €10 but was well worth the money. My only real criticism was that there was no fridge in our room.

Hotel staff were great! We are middled aged and enjoyed the vibe atmosphere. The rooms gets cleaned every other day. English was no problem there. The Restaurant has not much selection (burgers, pizza, salad, fries, mac &cheese). My only complaint was there were no other restaurants close by that we could find. There was a small convenience store down the street. We got the breakfast . It was ok but exactly the same every day. We got a good price for it. There were beans, scrambled eggs, bacon, croissants, yogurt, apples, musli, coffee, tea, orange and apple juice, corn flakes snd toppings for cereal.

By far this was the most affordable hotel I found for my stay and I was taken aback by how clean and well kept the place was, obviously I am too used to budget hotels being terrible. The staff were all lovely, the location was outside the city centre but there was a tram stop directly outside the hotel and ppace felt very safe and secure. The only negatives would be that the base of the shower leaked and would flood the bathroom. This, coupled with the fact there was no where to dry used towels meant we had to ask for additional towels every night so we could keep the floor dry while also having a towel for ourselves. The restaurant in the hotel also had a poor selection of food, but other than that I'd recommend the place.
