Clean, big room, many windows as we were in a corner room, plenty of coffee in the room, refrigerator, helpful staff, comfy bed, very ample storage space, nice restaurant called Sortie nearby and on the water, close to market and bus route, Turkish neighborhood, many shops and places to eat, some dispensaries.

This Hotel was booked, as it had parking, and close to our area of work.
We struggled to find suitable food or drink in the area, especially in the evenings, as the amenities seem to service a non Dutch population.
All in all a good hotel and suitable for our needs.

I arrived late in the evening and the member of staff at the reception was very helpful and friendly. I had a twin room on the ground floor and it was clean with all the expectes amenities. I stayed 3 nights and the room was cleaned each day.

Despite being on the ground floor near the main street it wasnt too loud at night.

Breakfast was included as part of my booking and it was fresh with a large variety. The weekend manager of the breakfast was exceptional. Very friendly and helpful

Our room was double booked so they upgraded us to the XO City West. A better hotel and closer to town which appreciated. Area was safe and quiet but very few places around to eat. We walked into the city area, about 4kms, easy walk. Staff were very nice.

We found that the hotel was in a very convenient place because there were tram and bus stops only a couple of minutes away from it. The actual room itself was very nice and clean. The bed itself was very comfy and clean too, we didn't find anything bad or unclean. The vending machines in the lobby downstairs were also very useful. Overall we really enjoyed our 3 night stay there!! :)

The place was not suitable, far out - the area was not very appealing and we refused to stay and sought an aternative but never got a refund even though we made our concerns very known to the staff who went on to inform that we had stayed there - we left after an hour.

Rooms have the basics, coffee machine & fridge. Good location for getting into central & bus station. Downsides for us was the rooms are not soundproof, we could hear the traffic on the road with the windows closed & the doors are not soft closing. Had lots of doors banging shut till late on. The location, did not feel safe going out after sundown. (Google maps takes you around the back of the building near the water) lots of youths hanging around, all blacked out on bikes. If you arrive here late try to stick to the front street - this is where the entrance is, will avoid you walking all the way around the building. Staff was polite & friendly during check in/out.

Great place to stay

We were family of 5 2 adults and 3 kids so we took big 5 bed room 4 bunker bed and 1 queen bed. Room was great it was spacious and clean. 2 bathrooms 1 with shower and sink 1 with sink and toilet which was very useful. They had a indoor play place which was excellent for kids. My kids had fun! Eiffel tower was walking distance and you can see the tower from the hotel as well. What i didn't like about the hotel was I left my stroller at the hotel and they couldn't locate it. Otherwise it was a great hotel.

Check in great. Friendly reception staff for duration.
Floor wet in room outside of bathroom on arrival.
Unclean toilet seat which was not cleaned for the duration.
The hot foot at breakfast was cold and did not taste good.
Towel changing sign confusing. We put the large towels on the floor to be changed but were only given hand towels back so had to ask reception for them.
Poor tv channel selection.

It’s very close to two tram lines so you can get to the center of Amsterdam in aprox 30 minutes. However the walls in the room were dirty, the mattress is old and the comforter had hairs when we got there. Will try somewhere else next time.

Arrived in amsterdam frim dfds ferry was advertised as 3.2 km from centre thats why i booked only to find out it was 7.6 km and a 20 euro raxi ride tram is 4 minute walk and takes 30 mins to get to central station all in all roims wernt ckeaned from previous occupancy hairs in bed and cotton buds left on floir in bathroim but had comfortable beds a feidge coffee machine and great shiwer

First night in the room was good, was clean and in a good location. Was not happy when on 2 of the days we was woken up by very loud drilling above our room that went on for hours, with no warning there would be any kind of work done. No consideration for the comfort of paying guests I believe no one should’ve been booked into any of the rooms around that area so was overall disappointed.

Everyone who worked there was super nice and extremely helpful with a lot of questions. My only complaints were with housekeeping staff. They would start cleaning rooms super early in the morning, and they were always extremely loud. They were constantly talking to other coworkers very loud, and made a lot of noise carrying things/cleaning other rooms. Interrupted sleep effected my plans on my vacation. The one day I did not have the sign up so that they could clean, I still had trash on the floor, and they did not change the bedding.
While I understand this is a big hotel and they have to start early to clean rooms, they should also be more considerate with how loud they talk in hallways regardless.

The hotel was in an ideal location for transport, with multiple transports being within a couple minutes walk with many options for food in the nearby area, all staff were extremely friendly and were ready to help at a moments notice. However the coffee machine in our room leaked water when we used it, and we found food under our beds when we arrived as if the room had not been cleaned properly.

we had a great time here, the room was great and had a nice tv with some british channels, the shower was good and everything was pretty clean. We got a ground floor room but it wasnt even that noisy so we werent fussed. The hotel is a few minutes walk from the tram stop and it takes about 30 mins to get into the centre! u can just tap ur card on the tram as well. Overall we had a great time !!

The staff and rooms were great and thats where the good kind of ends.
The internet was non existent here, SO SLOW.
We spent so much money on cabs/ubers to get down town. It would have made more sense to splash out a bit more $$ to stay central in the action and save on transportation.
Unless youre comfortable using public transportation/biking or prefer to be out of the way, I would stay closer, especially if your whole reason for travelling here is to explore and be touristy.

XO Blue Square Hotel

The staff were exremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, especially regarding questions about public transportation and area attractions. The beds were comfortable, but our room had a pillar running floor to ceiling, which was a bit inconvenient.

The breakfast was good, with a varied selection of protein and carbohydrate options.

The location is also close to public transportation and supermarkets. There is also an open air market nearby that operated each of the five days we stayed at XO Blue Square.

The hotel is clean, with decent sized twin rooms, and all the staff we came into contact with could not have been more helpful. Slightly out of town, but with excellent tram and bus links to the centre and the airport. We would definitely stay here again if visiting Amsterdam.

2nd stay at this hotel and everything was great again: comfy beds, clean and with great transport links to central.

My only complaint this time around would be that our room was right next to a building site. Of course this isn’t the hotel’s fault but the noise of the construction did wake us up quite early.

The staff were amazing. Very helpful and friendly. We were greeted with smiles and made to feel really welcomed. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. We looked out over an area of water with a fountain. We had breakfast every morning and they catered for my sister and my gluten free diet. There was allergy information on some of the food at the buffet. Where there wasn't they were able to show us the ingredients on the packaging.

I have stayed in this hotel for an almost a week in May 2022 and I'm really happy that I have chosen this one. I've got everything I needed. The hotel is clean, staff has always been friendly and helpful. They provided breakfast (15 euro). I've got little fridge, TV, safe, iron and ironing board in my room. It's more affordable than hotels in the center but it takes just 20-25 min to get to the center of Amsterdam on the tram. I used tram #7 and #13. Tram #7 will deliver you right from the hotel directly to Van Gogh museum and Rijksmuseum. Trams in Amsterdam run perfectly like clockwork. Displays on the tram stops and inside the trams are really informative. Tram stops are really close to the hotel so a trip to the center has never been a real problem for me. There are also a lot of Turkish restaurants in that area with great and affordable food. Couple of supermarkets are also located next to the hotel.

I just like to start with that I have been in the travel industry for over 30 years and have so much experience in dealing with hotels and airlines as such. This is why I would like to state for anyone traveling \"STAY CLEAR\". Horrible customer service, when the whole world is adapting to coronavirus and the new variants and restrictions, you find a hotel like XO blue that likes to benefit financially from this.

My friend and I booked thru hotels.com and unfortunately we have tested and been in contact with covid before our trip. All other hotels and airlines understood this and worked with us to get us the best quality service to figure out a way to help us. XO BLUE did absolutely not this. They wouldn't even pick up the phone to speak about it. We provided our test results and everything we could possibly do. Please do yourself a favor and stay away from this place as it's clear they haven't adapted to the times.

The hotel is near a tram/bus station so the transfer for the city center is easy peasy. Also I took bus 69 from airport Schiphol and I stopped 20m from the xo blue Square hotel. There are a lot of supermarkets around and many choices for food (mostly Turkish). The hotel inside has an automachine with transportation tickets for 24h/48h/72h/96h.

Breakfast buffet was excellent and good value at 10 euros (if purchased in advance). Location close to tram and bus, especially the 69 bus to Schipol, were great time savers. Property was quiet and comfortable, the room was clean, the beds comfortable and the bathroom fully equipped with tub and showerhead. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Das Hotel war sehr schön, die Lage ist auch toll da man super Bus/Tram Verbindungen zum Zentrum hat. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und das Frühstück war sehr lecker und vielfältig. Leider war im Zimmer die Bettwäsche mit ein wenig Blut befleckt, sonst war alles top und auch sauber. Wir kommen gerne wieder. 😊

The sevice was ok, also the breakfast was pretty good. The room was not as clean as I have expected, with a rug that looked awful and dirty. The ventilation/heater did not work so I had to sleep well dressed a few nights. Also day day teh room was full of smoke due to a nearby fire, and there was no way to ventilate as also the windows were bolted shut.

Possibly the worst 4 star hotel out there.

Had asked the reception for recommendations for nearby vegetarian restaurants and she suggested a nearby steakhouse.
It says that there is a restaurant & bar in the hotel but the restaurant only serves breakfast; and it's an alcohol free hotel so there isn't much in terms of bar.
