The single staff member we saw was supportive but facilities were inadequate. The room was in a poor state and nothing like very misleading photographs on the website. Perhaps other rooms look like that! I saw one review referring to the hotel as 'no-frills' - not true: it's more accurate to say lazy, given the apparent reluctance to maintain facilities - rusty radiator, filthy wallpaper, threadbare carpet. The heating worked well, but I can't think of anything else positive to say.

The room had mold and damp in the closet, they advertised a bar with pool table and restaurant, none there. On speaking to the staff to complain about the damp and ask to be moved I was told all rooms are the same . The photos used to advertise the property are nothing like the property itself. All in all it’s the worst hotel I have stayed at and Expedia should be vetting these properties more closely before advertising them.

NO ELEVATOR. If you need the room to be cleaned you have to pay 15e. It's a one night hotel.

Although the stuff were very helpful the hotel had no facilities not even a glass our cup in the room. There was not even a machine to get drinks or coffee.
The air cons did not work and there was a sign not to use them.
It is sad as this hotel must have been excellent 30 years ago as it has all the makings of a really nice place in the past.
The rooms to sleep in for a night would be OK, for longer stays a bit doubtful, as there is no lift and if you have heavy bags, it is not great if you are on the top floor.

As far as the area goes the shops were close, with a bakery just across the road but it didn't have coffee.
There is a nice bakery just up the road we went to every morning that was small but really nice. Lido supermarket was 200metres up the road that was handy.

The room is basic with a little fridge and TV. Beds are comfortable. Unfortunately, the little safe is installed below a tabletop on the floor in the corner, so it's not easily accessible. The bathroom is small but clean (except for the hairdryer which could do with a wipe down). The door keys were replaced with electronic cards during my stay and the changeover went smoothly. Rooms are cleaned every 5 days (you need to book those cleaning services - no charge) during long stays. Air Conditioning is available at 15 Euro. There is no escalator so if you have problems with stairs make sure to book a downstairs unit. Unless you have your own car (parking available) it is important to note that the nearest bus stop is 1,3 km walking distance. Or take an Uber. M

We were even checked in a little earlier, for which we are grateful. The room itself is not bad, a large comfortable bed, but the bathroom had a leaky ceiling and water dripping on the floor. Extra charge for almost everything, even for using the air conditioning. There is no bottled drinking water and you can't even buy it on site. The nearest train or bus stop is 20 minutes away on foot

We tried to contact the hotel before we arrived, since we knew we wouldn’t be able to check in before 9 pm/ during their working hours.
We send mails, tried to call - no replies.
The day of arrival we got an email that they will put our key in a box, since we will arrive late.
They did not send us a code for the box, so we couldn’t access the key. We tried to call and ring the bell - again nothing.
We tried the numbers on the box and were lucky to find the right ones after like 2 hours.

The next day a woman from the hotel opened the room while we were sleeping. She said she wrote a message and tried to call us. Her colleague made a mistake. She only checked us in for one night and not as planned for 3.
The next thing was that the room door was not able to be locked from the outside, only from the inside. So we had to leave the room open, when we wanted to go out. They fixed the door the night before we left.

Our last night we met 2 ladies who said that they are also checking in late. They got the code for the box, but there’s no key in the box.

When we told the hotel woman, about our difficulties and that we didn’t get the code for the key box, she said it’s the first time something like that has ever happened.

Fhe hotel was ok. It smelt of cigarette smoke alot. The room was nice but the showerhead wasnt fully working and would spray everywhere. The people in the room next to us were up all night.

We ended out stay early and went somewhere else as the access to the train was not easy.

The restaurant had apparently shut down a year ago so no food or drinks available. The room had bedding in that had what looked like urine stains on the bedding. The shower was full of mould, there was noise all night long. The place is not manned on reception from 9pm-9am so anything can and did happen. Expensive for what it is. Felt more like a dormitory with a hotel price.

Nice quiet location.. Lidl supermarket and a variety of outlets nearby..
About a twenty minutes walk away from the train station to get into Amsterdam centre..
Fyi €8.. return..
Check in was simple and pleasant enough fyi..no staff after 9pm.. so please make sure you advise before arrival if you need to check in later..
Given a key for our room door and proceeded up the stairs to our room...no lift here..
The room was clean and adequate for our two night stay..
But be aware the property and it's rooms look nothing like the pictures on the website..
It's rather tired and in need of a little TLC..
But it's clean and the bed was very comfortable with a great shower.. so not complaining for me and the price of our stay I would be quite happy to return..

This is a very different place, considering it is a hotel. You get your room cleaned during your stay only if you pay extra.
When we arrived, there was hair in the shower and soap in the walls.

The Zwanenburgh Inn is a very nice hotel to stay in when you're visiting Amsterdam. It's only a 20 minute walk from the local train station to the inn. The walk along the waterway is quite peaceful & you can spot some friendly geese along the way. The hotel is very clean & quiet, the rooms have t.v. & refrigerators as well as wifi. The staff is friendly & helpful, there's also a restaurant on site. The hotel is in a residential neighbourhood so the surroundings are quite nice & family oriented. They have a policy at the Zwanenburgh that room cleaning occurs once a week. This is due to the fact that there's usually one person working per shift. However if you need extra cleaning you can ask and for a fee the room will be given an extra clean. Some people will find this unacceptable but it's not really a big deal at all. I tend to keep my rooms clean so it's not a bother to me and I like my privacy so it works out just fine. There is an Aldi just 5 minutes from the inn and an Albert Heijn store around the corner from Aldi about 15 minutes from the Zwanenburgh. If you like coming to Amsterdam as much as I do you should give the Zwanenburgh a try. From the local train station to Centraal Station in Amsterdam it's only about a 25 minute journey. You also avoid herds of tourists when staying in Zwanenburgh. The price for 7 nights was only 535$ and you really can't find a better offer for that price.

After reading past reviews I was very nervous about this hotel I had booked. On arrival check in was super fast and easy. Our room was on the third floor (no elevators) but not a problem.

Our room was clean, clean bathroom with full shower/toilet/sink. Had soap and shampoo/conditioner. The AC was an extra cost but we actually didn’t need it with having the window open at night. With the reviews I read - not sure if we just got a cleaner room or a room that just didn’t have broken appliances but we had a pleasant stay. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed for a week.

Short 20 minutes walk to the train station and just two stops away from Amsterdam Central. Very quick and cheap way to get downtown with trains coming every 10 minutes.

Would stay here again.

Nothing major to complain about, it is fine to sleep in and use as a base to travel to Amsterdam.

The room was pretty much as expected for the price we paid. Basic, but reasonably clean with a TV, bathroom with shower and aircon (for a fee).

A few minor issues with our room; curtains didn't block out much light, one plug socket wasn't working and the fan in the bathroom didn't work, but no deal-breaking issues.

In a quiet, pleasant area, with a Lidl a few minutes walk away and a few restaurants/bars within 5 5-minute walk. Around 20 minutes walk from the nearest train station which was approx. 15-minute ride from Amsterdam Centraal.

Rooms didn't look like picture . Building work was taking place . So changed room when. We got there as it was directly opposite where the work was taking place .workmen started work from 7 Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning . So got woke us up as they were working outside our room . It was a average facility, very old fashioned. No kettle to make a coffee , had a bar but the bar wasn't working . Very very basic .

While there was a room for us and most of the things worked, we had to switch rooms after the first night (stayed 3) because there was a leak in the room. The closets smelled like mold, the hair dryers in the room didn't work, the window didn't close properly, the TV service didn't work. The planes flying over constantly during the morning and evening were hard to sleep through. The \"patio\" was non-existent/shared. The hotel is 20 minutes walking from the closest station which we didn't expect to have to walk every time but keep in mind there's no local transit options that we could see.

And after all this, the hotel still refused to refund our second reservation we had for almost a week later. Don't get the \"patio\" budget rooms.

The hotel is in a nice neighbourhood with some nice eateries and shops nearby. Aeroplanes do fly over very often so it can be noisy. The rooms are very basic and my partner and I got bitten several times each by something that we never saw. The showers need a different head because they don’t sprinkle the water, instead there is a very strong single stream. Having to leave a €20 security deposit for a kettle and leaving ID or €50 for any room does limit your check-out time if you want that back. My partner and I had an issue with people smoking near the window of our room but the reception was closed when we discovered this and we were refused another room because we had to ask the next day so customer service is not the best.

Very unsatisfied with this property. It did not appear like the images online showed. There were ants in the room, peeling wallpaper on the walls and patio area that was marketed in photos as being private, it was not, nor was there any privacy unless you want to close the blind the whole time. There was a missing fascia to the light in the bathroom which the staff didn’t fix leaving exposed electrics in a humid wet environment. There were holes in the ceiling where fittings had been poorly fitted and a TV that didn’t even turn on save for static. Do not stay

The hotel is near \"Zwanenburg, De Olm\" bus stop where it is only 4 minutes walk away, and 17 min away by walking from Halfweg-Zwanenburg station and there are restaurants nearby.

Stayed for three nights with two friends for an event locally.

Travelled later than planned, but had spoken with the hotel prior to arrival by email to arrange late check-in procedure and had no problems accessing our room.

Not a lot of soundproofing either from sounds directly outside the building, or from down the corridor, but didn’t find this too big a problem. Curtains did not block a lot of light overnight, which made it a little harder to sleep.

Bedding and bathroom clean on the whole, but did notice some old blood stains on the quilt under the sheet/quilt cover.

Good value overall, however, for the cost.

Room was smelling cigarette , even staff has no idea. There was no heater in room to adjust ourselves. Bathroom was looking like under construction , big holes under the bathing area, toilet flush tank switch box are open. Looks like bathroom Shower was in broken condition. it was pouring water and not showering. Taking shower will spill water outside due to open area and doesn’t have door. Single bed was moving because of wheel stand which doesn’t have locking mechanism. No lift if you have luggage, need to carry yourself. Not worth it to pay more than 50 euro per day!

Parking availability is the best part of this property, otherwise, I spotted roaches, the water pours out when showering despite the shower curtain availability, the toilet flushes; however, it is broken and needs to be fiddled to flush the next time, the beds are not together, the air conditioning didn't work despite the property saying it works, and there was no room service provided daily whatsoever. What an awful experience!

Not bad but in need of remodeling and maintenance. Sorta close to Amsterdam central if you're willing to walk a fair bit to the train station. One really annoying thing with the rooms is the automatic door closer, it starts out alright but within about five inches it slams the door closed (very loud) now imagine lots of people coming and going all day and night, you guessed it, no peace and quiet. Otherwise it's okay for the money.

Disgusting dirty. charged for everything, paid 25 per day for air conditioning that leaked onto electrical outlet. One of the worst hotel services, no elevator, very far from public transportation (more than twenty minutes on foot to the nearest public transportation station), the worst receptionist ever, no cleaning of rooms, no clean towels, there is an additional payment to operate the air conditioner in the room (Twenty-five euros per night), I do not advise anyone to visit at all.

Very dirty room, you have to pay 25Euro extra for one night for the air conditioner, I paid but at the night many times they turned off the air conditioner. I told them about it, but their response was:you can complain.

The staff (at least the 1 woman working at reception) said she couldn’t find our reservation, even though we gave her our confirmation number and code and showed her the multiple emails we had confirming this reservation. She kept telling us our reservation wasn’t there/wasn’t paid for. Only after we had booked a new place, she went to look through their emails and found out reservation. Our room was not properly cleaned, we found a light mer and half a used cigarette under the beds. Will not be coming back.

The room was adequate for our use, and clean. The bath was a jacuzzi bath, and again this was immaculate. We were late arriving at the hotel, and the manager was very amenable and friendly. We did telephone her to let her know that we would not meet the 9pm deadline.

It’s was more of a hostel than a hotel, there were cracks in all the windows, smashed or boarded up. There is no regular cleaning and no cleaning of the rooms and re-stocking on amenities. Good parking though, and the area nearby has some restaurants and a shop which was helpful. There was mold in the rooms, the shower was very basic and all the tiles were dirty or cracked.

The size of the room is ok but the bed is shabby. Beddings got holes on them. We stayed for a week and the room hasn't been cleaned even once. The good things about the hotel is the location as it is only 2 stops away from the city centre and the great supermarkets close by.

Hotel was clean and warm • room was large and pleasant • amenities were very satisfactory • all round a pleasing and enjoyable stay • just to say (not a complaint) if your coming from the rail station there are no taxis and the walk is
a bit long and somewhat confusing.
