Very nice room with excellent services. We checked out hotel on New Year Eve, no restaurant opened in the neighborhood unless you made reservations. The manager in hotel made extra effort to arrange fried rice dish for us.

Room is very clean & tidy. Pillows and comforters are in good condition. Elevator & hallway are well-kept. The whole hotel is very impressive & neat. One area that could be improved is front staff. They are not welcoming. They don't smile or acknowledge guests passing by... They are courteous but faintly aloof. The bellhop/ person standing at the door is friendlier than front staff. The housekeeper is helpful than front staff. Another to be improved is the laundry service. It would be better if it is complimentary, an added amenities to attract tourist to choose Evergreen Laurel Hotel Taipei.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The hotel was very quiet as we were there during the weekend and holiday so we did not hear any of the construction being done on the outside of the building. The location is close to the subway station and there are also lots of restaurants within walking distance.

We booked the deluxe family suite, which is huge. A living room (with work table and small dining table), separate bedroom with a king and a queen, a bathroom with standing shower and a tub, plus a closet. Water foundation at each floor and a small fridge in the room. Washer dryer on site. Great soundproofing. Although it doesn’t have a gym or pool, we feel it has everything we are looking for for our relatively long stay in Taipei.

The notice from the hotel management a week prior to our stay only mentioned inconvenience caused by construction, but did not mention anything about the wrapping and lack of outside light, which created a very claustrophobic feeling. On the first night, we could not sleep on account of the very bright bathroom light being unable to be turned off. We had to report the maintenance issue to staff next day for them to repair the faulty switch. Not a single apology from the staff for the problem it caused us. Instead, made us feel we were troubling them with a maintenance request. Will not stay there again even without the construction issue.

Room was big and very quiet, they must have great sound-proofing because I didn’t even hear a thing when it was pouring outside. Beds are very comfortable. Although deco is a little old fashioned but the place is kept well and very clean. Hotel provides snack in the room and in the lobby for guests, and umbrellas to borrow when it rains. The best part is it has washer /dryer at a lower than laundry-mart cost on site, which saved as a lot of trouble with our laundry! Entrance is clean along with staff to open the door for you whenever you go out or when you come back inside. If not, they will usually leave the door open for you. Lobby contains sitting areas, one giving access to tables, etc. Has a coffee machine that gives free coffee, but will occasionally need staff to refill. Front desk will usually greet you when passing by, and is friendly. They have two staff working at the desk and two chairs each when consulting with staff. Stayed longer than 10 days, and was given the option for our room to not be cleaned the next day for a basket of treats. Beds are neatly made every morning after you leave, with everything else cleaned up and organized. They will not provide amenities such as combs, shower caps, toothbrushes, toothpaste, or conditioner; bring or buy your own. Shampoo and soap has a nice scent.

My only suggestions would be that the hotel should have available for viewing by English speaking guests a copy of the Taipei Times. This is a hotel I would come back to when I’m in Taipei again. The room was not only spacious and clean, everything about it feels grand. The bed was comfortable with memory foam and down pillow for you to use, the bathroom was big, grand and clean. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and go above and beyond to ensure my family’s stay was enjoyable. They helped our large group book transport to places we wanted to visit, stored our luggage even after we checked out. We picked one of the nicer rooms available and it was great! Comfortable, clean, very spacious. It’s located very close to the train stations and bus stops. While there is not anything major located directly near the hotel, other than some food and convenient stores, it is a great central location to get to all of the sights in Taipei. Some in walking distance, and some a short metro/train ride away. We were able to do laundry here and the staff was friendly.
