Nice staff, great free breakfast, clean and spacious room, free snacks and water, very reasonable price, the location is slightly far from Bart station but it’s totally fine with me as I’m doing the city walk anyway. If only thing I would like they to provide is one-time slipper and hair conditioner. Other than that, I’m pretty happy with my stay. I stayed at 3 hotels in Taipei and so far, this is the one I like the most. I’ll definitely book this hotel for my next Taipei trip

The room was exceptionally clean and surprisingly spacious. We received a complimentary basket of crackers and bananas every day, which was a thoughtful touch. The water pressure was excellent, the environment was very quiet, and the blackout curtains blocked out all the light perfectly.

Breakfast was very traditional Taiwanese, which may be a plus or downside 😅 depending on your preferences.

The location, it’s about a 10-minute walk from the MRT station.

Overall, we had a wonderful stay at the Waikoloa and would definitely come back!

There were three things about my stay at Waikoloa [room 302] that need attention. First of all the bed was too soft. That might be good for some people but not for me. Second, the room faces onto Chang Chun road and there was too much street traffic noise. The sound proofing needs to be improved. Finally, in the bathroom, which was extremely spacious, there was soft and shampoo in the shower BUT no soap by the sink. Having to walk to the shower to get some soap to wash my hands and face at the sink was a serious deficiency.

Nice mid city hotel. Convenient to East Erie’s, transport and quick access to airport fly away. / elevated hwy. Hotel has valet parking, not a giant lot but very suitable for visitors. Rooms were large, and well insulated which makes a big difference when Taipei drops to 12c. 2 elevators were quick and soaker tub was a big enhancement when temps dropped

I stay here several times a year and usually book the larger rooms (-08) which I like. I tried the japanese room and it's not as nice due to: (1) only has small window so not much daylight (2) ceiling is lower and floor is raised so feels more cramped (3) room is near maid's area, so get more noise, (4) bathroom plumbing not great as hear water noise thru the walls.

I've stayed her 5-6 times before. Rooms are big, albeit decorated in older style. Hotel is probably decades old, but well mainatained and clean. Breakfast selection is good. No gym, business center (they have a tiny room on lobby floor that doesn't have a door so it can be noisy), no seating area in lobby. But you care more about the actual room, this is a good value.

Waikokoa Hotel is a bit outdated but still a very good option for a stay if you don't mind the long walking distance to the MRT and a rather disappointing breakfast.
Rooms are pretty spacious and good value for money. Beds are slightly softer than usually in Asia but very comfortable. I liked the large bathroom which included a whirlpool, although it's lights were broken - but the main function worked perfectly.
Be aware that rooms are not very soundproof. To the street it was okay, but from the corridors you'll hear lots of noise.
Cleanliness of the room was good, although some corners still were a bit dusty.
Room cleaning was working all day until the evening, so the room was made up even if I left late. They brought a \"fruit basket\" every day (which consisted of one banana and some crackers).
Breakfast is included for free but I only tried it twice. I found it to be pretty disappointing in quality and quantity, so I rather chose to pay for outside food.
While MRT is rather far away (15-20 minutes walk), there are lots of good restaurants around the hotel. That's a big plus.
Staff was friendly throughout the stay. Unfortunately they don't have any laundry facilities but will tell you where to find the nearest coin laundry.
Overall a pleasant stay and good value for money. Only the distance to MRT unfortunately might make me think twice about staying again.

The property seems dated but well maintained. Room is clean and spacious. Stuff are courteous and helpful. Location is safe, but not the most convenient. About 5 minutes walk to the main boulevard where you can catch buses and MRT. The included breakfast has both western-styled and traditional Chinese selections which I enjoyed. In my opinion, it is a good value in this area.

We booked a room for three people (2 queen beds) and it turns out their only rooms like this are dark, stuffy, interior, windowless rooms. The room had an overpowering stench of mildew. They offered to allow us to move to another room with two queen beds, but they were all the same. I had planned to work and take conference calls at the hotel's advertised \"business center\", but this turned out to be a closet-sized room with two desks practically on top of one another which were nearly always in use by other people. There's a real conference room downstairs, but I was forbidden from using that outside of the hours of 11am - 5pm. The front desk staff went from being needlessly unhelpful to outright rude. Thank you Expedia for helping us cancel our remaining nights. I would never stay here again. Taipei has so many clean, windowed, and honest hotels to choose from on Expedia. We got burned by choosing one whose listing does a pretty good job of hiding that they are none of these things.

The breakfast was also great - congee and a variety of additional dishes(veggies, fried eggs, toast and buns) and an espresso machine. The train station is about an 8 minute walk away, easy for these NYC tourists. We would recommend.

Cosy and comfortable rooms. Near to PX supermarket and convenience stores, no worries if we need any toiletries, snacks and other basic necessities. Walkable to 2 metro stations, Songjiang Nanjing station and Nanjing Fuxing station, for you to reach most of the night markets and tourist spots in Taipei.

We stayed at this property for a week. The room is spacious and the staffs are friendly
However, the room itself has this humid moldy smell or smoking smell (even this is a non-smoking hotel), although we had changed room and have two humidifiers in the room, it couldn't get rid of the smells. The facility is rusty and old. The worst part was we had bed bug bites occurred during the stay. My husband noticed some itching around the arms, we thought it was some allergic reaction. Since it takes a few days for symptoms of bed bugs to develop, we weren't sure until we checked out of the hotel where the bites become noticeable red, swollen and itchy. And I also had one or two bites on my waist area. We will never come back to this hotel, especially traveling a toddler.

The staff was very polite and made sure that we were comfortable. The price of the room was very good and the hotel offered lots of extra things such as slippers, bathrobes, tooth brushes, bottles of water etc that I did not expect to have included in the price. The rooms show a little bit wear and tear, but the hotel for instance renovated the bathroom in our room and everything was clean. The only thing that I believe can be improved is the breakfast. There was not a lot of variety and everyday the same items were available. So it was a little bit boring and I believe it was catering better for Asians then Europeans for instance. Still, the food was tasty and they had the best watermelon I had for a long time.All in all this was a great hotel and I would definitely recommend it.

When checking in, the room smelled of cold smoke. We asked to change rooms, but this was only possible the next morning. We then got a new room, that also still had a stale smell. The hallways were also stuffy and smelled of cold smoke.
Not a great experience, for an otherwise nicely equipped room.

The hotel management were total unhelpful in trying to recover it and were more concerned with trying to absolve themselves from blame, even though we had not tried to accuse anyone or asked for compensation.

We really like this hotel - reception staff quite helpful though would have been nice if they had also wished us Merry Christmas on Christmas day :-) The housekeeping staff is excellent - everything is done properly and very nicely indeed. The breakfasts were fine - very Taiwanese but that suited us very well. The mantous were my favourite. Location wise - about 8 min walk to the nearest metro station but lots of eateries within walking distance. The bed was very comfortable although on the firm side and the room was spacious. The chairs unfortunately were really uncomfortable. We had to sit on the floor or the bed to watch TV. Good range of programmes on TV. Quiet rooms (like ours) face an internal space - so very limited natural light but we were happy with that. Rooms facing the main road would have been too noisy for us. All in all, we had a great stay. Highly recommended.

I stayed in the Japanese double room. I chose the room based on the first few pictures, which look fantastic. I got the other version of the room, which is pictures #9-11. Not as luxurious-looking, but still a great room. Very spacious room, especially compared to Japan, and at a great price! As an American traveler, there are certainly some Taiwanese quirks about this room, but nothing bad. We checked in after midnight, and although the hotel description says no check-in after midnight, we had no problem. The staff spoke enough Japanese and English for us to be able to communicate effectively. Not bad of a walk from the subway station, but there aren't many tourist sites right by the hotel if that matters to you. Breakfast was a pretty good selection and all-you-can-eat. I don't think the food offerings change day to day though.

This is great convenient location, 10 minutes walk to MTR, decent beef noodles place near (Chef Hung's). The staff is awesome, offered water bottles anytime and even when checking out since it was hot out. Great umbrellas can be borrowed for sun shade or rain. Had decent breakfast buffet. The only thing is this may be a little older but well kept... a bit musty in the hallway and had fan going due to high humidity during summer. We would consider staying here if we return to Taipei.

Best hotel we have stayed with orbitz and we travel a lot. Rooms are large like a suite, breakfast has many choices, maid service is twice a day, fruit basket every evening, 4 bottles of water daily, umbrella loans and when we checked out, free extra bottles of water to go.

For the price an excellent Hotel. Room was enormous and the bathroom had the added bonus of a huge jet tub, now that was a surprise. All the staff were polite, courteous, helpful and spoke better English than my attempts at Mandarin. Breakfast was always going to be the sticking point, so if you don't like the idea of an Asian style breakfast then it's toast and cereal.
A 10 minute stroll from the nearest MRT Station and all manor of shops within a 15 minute walk, need a taxi ask the Hotel staff only too happy to help.

Internal: room comfortable, large enough, bath room huge but no hangers or space for towels or clothes
room clean, service good.

I planned to stay in a more comfortable hotel room for a few days, although transport was not so good, have to walk for more than 15 minutes to go to the next MTR stop, but its alright, I took taxi a few times.
There was a cinema quite across so I did enjoy the convenience though I left in middle of the show.... not suitable for me, too noisy.
There was a professional noodle shop next door so I also enjoyed the food.

It is recommended for a good comfortable hotel if you don't choose to be near to the crowded city area.

Classy hotel in a slightly run down area.

This hotel was built with a touch of class. Its decor and workmanship are still impressive, but building is getting old. Strange smell in hallways, but room is fine. Hotel is in a block full of auto repair and building supply shops. Breakfast is tasty and plentiful. Staff is professional from front desk to housekeeping. Fresh fruit and fkowers in room are nice unexpected touches.

Our stay was fine. The staff was nice and helpful. The breakfast was really good with a lot of local dishes and western food as well. The room and the bathroom were very spacious and comfortable.

The only snags we found are aged bed linen and a small incident when we arrived in the room. While we arrived at the hotel after the check in time, there was a used condom in the bin of the bathroom. It was okay because we did not have any kid with us but this was a bit disgusting. After the hotel staff was notified, they apologise and the room was cleaned again. We were hoping a little bit more than mere apologises given the standing of the hotel.

We stayed there for four nights and every day we come back into the room, we find our room cleaned, new towels, bottles of water and they left a flag in our room! The place was great, service was great, place was clean. Buffet breakfast is what you would find in any Asian country. Good hotel in central Taipei

We stayed here for one night and enjoyed our stay as the room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Staff were polite and helpful. The hotel was close to a couple of MRT train stations so convenient to get around.
There's also lots of restaurants and a local market within walking distance. Good range of food for breakfast.
