The bathrom had hair in the bathtub shower area that didn't belong to us and it was there upon arrival. The room walls alwere very thin and house keeping was cleaning through all hours which is a real inconvenience after a long flight. The water pipes are very noisy as well. Everytime a chair was moved you could hear it drag on the floor. In between the tiles in the restroom has black flgrit and mold.

Comfortable & Convenient for Brown MRT line.

Room was clean and comfortable, with Smart TV. Wifi connection was good.
Bathroom was always clean, shower nice and hot, Japanese auto-toilet etc.
Staff were always very nice to me when i interacted with them.
However, i have to only give 4 stars, as i do not like self-check in, and encountered problems upon arriving at 01:00am... and on a weekend the noise pollution is especially loud with those selfish few guests that cannot control themselves through the night.
Plenty of 7Eleven in the area, and not very far to the Brown & Green MRT lines.

Great hotel. It's important to know that they use self check-in machines, and your reservation belongs to Expedia rather that Hotels.com. We forgot about this and had some trouble checking-in. Glad that there was a friendly staff came out to help.

not the best for it's price

the door to the shower of my room was broken, so water was escaping into the toilet area, the room was musky and very humid/moist. There was mold in the shower area, and around the tub. Room was dirty from previous stay.

There's no one really in the front desk.. maybe at 3:00AM/4:00AM.

Terrible experience in this hotel.

Kiosk Self Check in - Terrible service

Hotel staff was not there when arrived in the hotel and Kiosk also did not work with my confirmation number. Talked to the phone on the Kiosk. He was in Taichung. still could not solve the problem. about 30-40 minutes later, a lady(hotel staff) showed up and paid by credit card manually. She never say \"Sorry\".

To check-in, it took about 40 minutes. WOW

Sounds like a lie? Please check their CCTV. I was desperately shouting / yelling for \"HELP\" but nobody showed up.

Do not judged a book by its cover.

Name, photos and internal pictures of this hotel was miisleading. Only one key per room which was very inconvenience for the 3 of us. Room 806 was less than 22sqm. We pre-paid for 35sqm as stated in your Hotels.com site. Breakfast was too simple and just a few spread. Mainly vegetables. Breakfast from 7am to 9am was too short and wrong timing. Key need to be kept at the reception when we go out.

We were shocked upon return in the night that the room was not cleaned up. No house keeping, no tidying of beds and no clean towels. Nothing was done. When the supervisor arrived half an hour later and the reason was that the housekeepers had missed or overlook our room. We settled for some clean towels and let them emptied the dustbins as it was already 11.30pm in the night.

A day before checking out, we asked the reception for advised on how to get to the airport. Answer was to take a cab arranged by them. Price quoted was very high. We eventually booked a cab by ourselves with a 40% lower in price. The only positive consolation for this hotel was the checking out. Just gave them the key and it was done in 5 seconds.

I won’t recommend this hotel

My experience at this hotel was terrible. First they gave us a room with mold in the bathroom but after complaining to the front desk they were able to give us another room. The new room was hot and we couldn’t change the temperature. It seemed as the thermostat was broken.

The property was old, the carpet was not cleaned, the washing basin in the room was not cleaned thoroughly each day. The entrance light in the room was not fixed throughout my stay. The cups which were dirty were left unattended and had to be washed by me everyday.

Booked for 7 nights, on the first day there was a ball of fluff dirt on the floor and only 1 bath towel was provided for 2 guests- had to request for a second towel. Even though there was daily housekeeping, some of the towels provided were torn. This could’ve been improved. The hotel includes a gym facility however when I tried to use the treadmill, it wasn’t working. The gym area is very old and equipment looks like it hasn’t been used for a long time.
Otherwise happy that there was daily housekeeping (water and towels replaced), hotel is situated in a relatively central location.
Hotel amenities do not include conditioner.

Seriously, do not even bother. Did not even fit a 3-star hotel rating. The only saving grace of this hotel was the location (3 minute-walk to Zhongshan Junior High School) and Kevin - the front desk employee who happens to be the only one who wears a uniform. Kevin was helpful and friendly. The other front desk staff did not bother about the guests especially the lady. Even the cleaning ladies are friendlier than them.
Breakfast was terrible - spoilt toasters, unappealing and distatsteful dishes. Walls were thin and people staying in the room above us kept dragging stuff around in the night and wee hours which affected our sleep. The bathroom has a screen which does not fully block the glass door - so there is a gap where you can actually see through the bathroom. Will never return to Regal.

Worn out Hotel, but good location

I spend 4 nights at this hotel. For different reasons I stayed in 3 different rooms. The beds are not particularly comfortable and the bathroom wasn't very clean, one of them hadn't been actually cleaned before I checked in.
The gym is very worn out and half of the machines don't work.
The breakfast is freshly cook and every day is different
The staff is very friendly, and the location is very convenient, 2 minutes walk away from an MRT station

The location is near MRT. The rate is not pricey. The breakfast is a bit bland though we expected it to be and variation is acceptable.. We just dont like that they do not replenish everything automatically despite the 3-night stay, from bath towel to coffee, tea etc. All receptionists are not so accomodating, they speak and understand very little english so its really hard to communicate especially if we have inquiries and requests..

Not sure how they put a name on hotel without much standard. It's not close to MRT station but it's easy to get taxi outside. The room is clean and enough space for 3, we booked a triple room. Have stayed here before and will stay again. Has everything needed for a good stay. Friendly staff (both the font-desk staff and the cleaners), great room + shower + beds, nice breakfast. Even has a small gym and on-site washing/drying facilities. Very happy.

Great value for an economy hotel. Staff offered to lend an umbrella on a rainy night. I called after checkout because I left a necklace. Front desk held back the cleaning staff until I came back to retrieve it, because they were concerned that it was valuable. Also, I liked the variety in the breakfast spread.

Futuristic room in dirty condition

Stayed for 3 nights on business. Hotel not kept up to Regal standards, and surfaces are not kept clean.

Wifi has no signal in rooms.

Full of tour groups from Mainland China that shout in rooms and play TV at full volume.

Front desk speak very limited English. No attempt to put things right. No receipt given for stay.

Good location; Unfriendly staff & Poor facility!

This hotel is close to the metro station, and that’s as good as it gets. The free breakfast buffet really lacks variety and food was just edible. The rooms are quite small but okay if you only need a bed to crash at night. What bothered us the most was its unhelpful staff:
1. The phone didn't work in our first room. The staff told us the computer configuration for our phone was problematic. They never got it to work, so I asked the front desk whether I could use their phone to make a quick call to my parents who live close by. They refused and asked me to go find a public phone to make the call. A call within the neighborhood in Taipei only costs a few cents! I would have gladly paid for it.
2. Our second room had NO WiFi signal. I was told that the hotel was fully booked, and no room change was possible until the following day. The staff requested me to move out of room by 8am next day if I want a room change. Seriously? Upon protest, the front desk staff finally agreed to adhere to the checkout time.
3. Our third room faces the metro, so we got a lot of noise from the busy traffic. What shocked us was that the shower door was a few inches short in width, so we couldn’t completely close the shower enclosure. How was this poor construction acceptable?
Over all, our whole stay was unpleasant and disappointing. The front desk staff rarely greeted us or even lifted their eyes whenever we entered or left the hotel. We will NEVER book this hotel again.

It was my 2nd time to visit this hotel. Last time I stayed in Room715 but this time I stayed in Room 808, it is a big room with two toilets for 4 people but it was really stuffy. There is sth wrong the ventilation system. Since it is just under the restaurant , it was very noisy during breakfast time. Breakfast was horrible too.

First day checked in found hairs, and food debris on the floor, asked for re-clean, a lady came in with broom to sweep a small area and left, not even mopping/ vacuuming the floor.
At night, air conditioning was set at 20 degree Celsius but was maintained at 23-24 degree Celsius through out the night, woke up 3am, went to the front desk to ask for help, was told by front desk in winter they do not allow air conditioning to turn on, suggested me to open window instead.
Room was too stuffy due to the AC not working, I had to open the window, besides the noise from the street, mosquitos came into the room, and was bitten by mosquitos all night.
The next day morning at 10am, went complaint to the front desk again, was promised by them that they will turn on the AC tonight.
Surely, it didn't happen, I had to call Hotels.com customer service to cancel the rest of my booking with this hotel. I did a collect call from the room, but i was charged 350 TWD when i checked out due to using their phone making collect call.
Well, I had nothing good to say about this hotel.

Great experience at Regal Execitive Suites

A small hotel located in a superb location, 5min walk to Zhongshan junior high school station, many nice restaurants, bars, cafe, and convenience stores nearby.

Kind manager and staffs, offered us an upgrade to a suite that surely was more comfortable for a family with baby.

The room was renovated and clean. But, some glasses were dusty.

Only serious complaint is that everyday breakfast and its quality was below average, needed to be improved.

I've been to TPE more than 10 times, this is the hotel I'd recommend to any travellers. Will come back again!

Location quite good. Near bus station to and from airport. Nearest MRT around 200 meters (est. of: 3 minutes walk).
Staffs are very nice, friendly, kind and helpful as my friend told me.
One setback...for my three days of stay, there was one night when I found a towel moldy. Well, I understand that this technical error should be corrected in no time.
Breakfast...for vegans or vegetarians, better ask before you eat. Though the dishes might look like they contain no meat, but they are actually using lard.But breakfast is no worries in Taiwan, plus there are many restaurants nearby.

Stayed for 6 nights for business. Lovely hotel. Staff were great! I had my room upgraded and it was really nice. However, in the room at the end of the hall, the internet was VERY slow. Some days the breakfast was great, but other days it wasn't so great. If the breakfast selection was better and wifi was faster I'd have given it a 5 out of 5.

They have remodeled the hotel recently. The lobby and general areas are nice and modern. The room was in good condition. Wi-Fi worked in the room. My only complaint is that if you stay on the top floor you will be under the restaurant, which is VERY loud during breakfast. I suggest headphones or drinking a lot the night before.

Place is close to the transit and restauants. Didn't get hot water untill about day 3 of my 6 day stay. Hallways a bit dirty. Breakfast is sandwiches in plastic boxes...and coffee that you pick up from a miniscule lobby. No laundry service, but coin op nearby. No gym as advertised. On a busy thoroughfare. Adequate after hot water issue fixed. Some staff very helpful and speak decent English. Whence renovations are complete it will be an adequate generic business hotel. WI FI ok. Hard to make long distance calls from the room. Glad I stayed, glad I left.

Needs some repairs

I've stayed at this hotel several times over the past few years. It was never an upscale place but the price was great and the staff was friendly and helpful and location was excellent. It has been getting more run down each time. Now the internet was almost useless and the dryer in the laundry wasn't working. I told them the first day that the light in the bathroom wasn't working and it never got fixed.

I like their complementary breakfast. different everyday.

Most comfortable bed I've slept on in all Taiwan

This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel in the past two months, and I absolutely love the beds! I actually took note of the mattress brand this time (Harmonis), so I can hopefully buy one for my own home. This hotel is also very close to the airport, MRT station, etc.. The only things I don't like are that the public areas smell too damp and that the wifi isn't reliable. However, the price is great, the staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean & comfy, and the location is excellent. I enjoyed the little pub next door (\"My Other Place\"): Guiness, lovely cheese sticks, and the best chicken quesadilla I've had in a long time.

steam stayed on window of the room in next day.

Short Taipei trip

The hotel was conveniently located, within walking distance from a subway station. The hotel is also near the major shopping area of Taipei, as well as walking distance (1km) from Taipei Arena. This hotel is also located 2 subway stations away from the Songshan Airport. However, the hotel is not very sound proof, and there were mosquitoes in my room. Consider this hotel is location is an important consideration for your trip.

A good hotel, but with some drawbacks

I stayed at the hotel in January 2013 and much of the hotel was under construction. There was a lot of mess to step over in the halls and on the stairs. There was no front door at all. There were some chemical smells and noise from power tools. The staff changed my room due to the smell, so I was well accommodated. When the construction is over, this hotel will be great. It's clean, comfortable, and near the subway and restaurants. It's also close to transportation to both airports. There was some shopping close by and plenty of banks. If you can live with the problems, it's a good deal. Otherwise, stay away until the construction is finished.

Very dirty room. No hot water in shower or bath for most of the evening. Morning check out cleaning staff rude & invasive. Other staff try to be helpful, but not possible to help.
Breakfast barely adequate. Something seemed to have died on the steps to the dining room?Overpriced for what it is. First thing we did was find another place for the rest of our stay. Worst hotel we stayed at in Taiwan. Would not recommend nor stay there again.

A bargain for extended stay

It is located in the north central part
of the City, close to Metro station and the
airport. Staff services are excellent; needs
minor renovations. Room rate is very reasonable.

Needs a makeover but great location

Old hotel in need of renovation, wifi not working during my stay, plus side great location for good restaurants and bars and 5 min walk to MRT!!!
Better hotels at similar price nearby

Not a bad place to stay, only issue I had was I booked a triple and a twin room. They had the triple but somehow claimed that I booked a double and not a twin. They said there was nothing they could do that weekend as they were full booked.

Aside from that, this is close to the MRT station and very close to everything from 7/11's to tons of eateries.

Most of what is needed for a business visit to Taipei.

My visit to Taipei was mainly to attend a trade show; this hotel is located near an MRT station which is convenient to move around Taipei, never needed a taxi. The rooms are small but always clean and well accommodated, just had a little issue one night with the air conditioning system what I think was just a one isolated event. The breakfast buffet was plain but generous; it was a good meal to start a busy day with late lunch. I would recommend this place to non bigheaded business people visiting Taipei.

Cheap and convenient location

Wireless signal was very bad, I had to use 3G from my pre-paid mobile. Breakfast is very Chinese apart from the standard toast, which is fine for me but perhaps not for western guests. The price is cheap and location is good though, very near the MRT train station.

Cozy and Quaint

Despite positioning and advertising this is not a hotel for business travelers. The hotel is centrally located and caters primarily to Chinese and Taiwanese tourists. The rooms are spacious and very clean. There is a faint smell of mildew in the lobby, but that is to be expected in most tropical areas. The room, being sufficiently distant from the entrance, did not have any bad smell to it. I was very impressed with the room and considered it a bargain for the price. The staff was very helpful. Their English skills varied, but nonetheless they strived to ensure a comfortable and pleasant stay. I would definitely revisit this hotel if I return to Taipei.

- The hotel has seen its glory days. No updates has been done since the 70's from the looks of it. - The entire hotell smells damp, including the lobby and the room. - The \"high speed internet\" is only accessable from the lobby, and can not be used from the rooms. The room was not very clean, even though cleaning was carried out on a daily basis. - The breakfast buffet was tiny and the breakfast premises unappealing and full of food stains. + The hotel is only 5 min walk from the subway. + Spaceous room with a small pentry, livingroom and separate bedroom.

Good location, less satisfactory hotel condition

Near to metro station and good restaurants, the hotel's location is convenient. However, the overall look of the hotel is shouting for a make over with peeling wall paper and worn out furniture. I guess that is the reason for its low price dispite its location and the room is still quite comfortable.

Sweet staff. If planning to take bus from Taiyuan Intl, I think it goes to an MRT station other than the nearby Junior High one (or I got lost and ultimately had to take a cab).

Good Deal. Great Location

The rooms are a little small and tired but the location is great. Less than a block to the MRT. Good bargain for business travel. Not a great vacation option.
