website pictures looked real good but in reality not that great. Carpet is stained in multiple places , chair is also stained and you don’t want to sit on it. AC was off when I moved in, I guess that’s their money saving policy. So there is a strong moldy smell to welcome you at the door. Otherwise , it’s clean, functional and fairly quiet. Room has a window (paid extra) but you just see the next door’s high rise building under construction. Hotel location is close to metro station so it’s convenient.

Mold alert!

Please do something about the mold! The hotel itself and service would be great otherwise, but entering our room I smelled something weird. Later on, I discovered that the entrance door and walls around are covered with mold, probably because of the bathroom next to them, where there was no proper ventilation. It is not healthy! We stayed 8 nights, the cleaning is on-demand which is a clever solution, but our sheets were not changed the entire time. Overall it is still a positive experience, the staff is super kind, and we would stay again in a mold-free room.

DO NOT RENT THIS HOTEL.

We went in late Dec stay at Room 506.

The hotel room air conditioner thermostat is not working. The room is freezing at 18°C. The hotel staff said that not able to fix and reject to provide any heater . The light switch is also not working, so it cannot turn off, aftee many complaints so the hotel staff use some type and card to cover it.

This is not acceptable. We did not expect to stay in a room which not suppose to rent out. Poor staff service. They not helping us with the AC issue.

The whole building smalls like cigarette, some light switches are broken in the room, clogged shower drainage that almost cost flooding in the bathroom.
I don’t recommend staying at this hotel, there are plenty of options nearby.

We could not have asked for better accommodations for our first-ever Taipei trip. The location was awesome and, for an extremely busy street, our room was unbelievably quiet, basically soundproofed. I particularly loved the bathroom design (complete with heated mirror to eliminate fogging from the shower) and the breakfast was fantastic.

Great stay. It's a bit of a walk from the MRT, but otherwise it's wonderful. I would especially recommend it to visitors from outside of Taiwan because the room comes equipped with a smart phone with complimentary phone calls and 4G data. The bed was literally 8 ft wide!

A very comfortable stay near the station. Room was clean and comfortable, with good toiletries. Not sure if it was because I didn't know how to use the TV but I could only access a few channels which looked like it was streamed online. Breakfast was a simple spread, with a mix between Asian and Western variety.

Nice accommodating staff! Clean hotel

The staff were so accommodating and allowed me to check in earlier to attend and prepare for a wedding. The mini bar is free which is great. They also prepared free paper masks for guests too which is very thoughtful! The hotel is clean and very convenient . I didn't manage to try the free coffee at the lobby as the offering times are from 1030am-830pm at night which for most of the time we were out. Look forward to going back to Taipei and staying at this hotel!

Staff were friendly. Room size is good, nice decorations. Spacious bath and shower area, comfortable bed and pillows.

Minor drawbacks: Main door not soundproof, neighbours going in and out were noticeable. For business travellers, lighting is too dim. Breakfast taste so so.

Room cleaning need to improve the quality as we found a drank milk bottle left in the refrigerator when we checked in. Also, we found out one of the light could not turn off at the middle of the night due to circuit issue, which could not be fixed by hotel staff at night, so we need to move to another room.

Hotel in the middle of town

First a bit about me. I am 40. Not rich but looking for a bit of comfort without breaking the bank. And I like a good breakfast

Pros: Very clean, and modern
it is centrally located to shopping, night markets, etc
about a block away there is a bar with live music. massage shops all around. just walk around a bit. and about one subway stop away there was even a microbrewery. that had an interesting beer drinking contest (I can't recall the name, though)
Cons: the windows onto the main street are a lttle see through so you have to close the blinds especially at night unless you are an exhibitionist. Not a big deal though.
the wifi was a little weak.

draw: the breakfast wasn't a buffet. so if you are expecting a large variety, you won't get it. However there is a small menu served and what they make, they make quite well. There are four options: egg (choose how you want it cooked), andfrench toast for western travelers. And if you are feeling more adventurous, you could have the rice and fish, or the chinese noodles.
I call this a draw because I don't really consider it a con or a pro...you just have to know what you are getting.

Stayed there three days in April 2016 and was very pleased with the hotel and the awesome service! Room was clean, modern, and comfortable. Drinks and snacks in the room were free, and the free breakfast, although limited, was excellent. French toast was delicious!

A great week spent in Taipei at the U Hotel Taipei

I was on a week long business trip in Taipei last week. It was my first visit to the city. Having had plenty experience travelling in Asia, I had my expectations when I booked this hotel.
Firstly, the location is GREAT! It's within a 5-minute walk to two MRT stations. MRT is extremely convenient in this city, so the location is definitely a plus for me.
Secondly, the stuff is very friendly, all speak good English. Every time I had any request or asked them for help, they were all very helpful and I felt they really want me to have a good stay.
Thirdly, the breakfast choices are exactly what I needed in the morning before a busy work day ahead.
So, all in all, a wonderful stay, I'd like to say thanks for the helpful stuff again, and I will be back if I ever come to Taipei again!

We loved this hotel and would recommend to anyone staying in Taipei. Located easy walk to MRT and plenty of bus stops. Very quiet, clean, comfortable, huge room with amazing shower and fabulous bed. No complainets whatsoever of this place, its superb.

The hotel is nice and clean with modern decoration.
The bathroom is quite big with pretty large bathtub.
We booked a twin room that the 2 single beds are very comfortable.
The staffs are nice and helpful.
Just little bit far from subway stations, at least 15 mins walk.
The district is in the center of CBD, convenient for airport transport and night market.

Very good stay

Very Good overall, especially with discounted rate. It was a long walk to get to subway exit2, then 5 mins walk to hotel. Front desk is nice n sent our luggage direct to our room. Deluxe decor,very comfortable big room, except sound proof is not that good, can hear next room talking very clearly at our bathroom !

整體整潔度還好，但是設施有一點舊，廁所門跟電制位要倒不倒似的。

被子感覺也很侷促，枕頭質量不佳，而且要求多一個枕頭還要加錢，非常不解。

門口自動感應燈也非常困擾，夜晚有人回來燈會非常亮。短暫住一天還好，兩天以上真的不太建議。

冷氣不冷，洗澡水不是很燙就是很冰，水壓也很小，隔音超爛隔壁講話像在你旁邊一樣大聲，電話又一直響又夠吵，然後員工幾乎都不在櫃台有事也找不到人，打電話公務機放桌上根本沒用，人不在也不帶著，然後規定四點才能入住，只能用機台 check in，所以全部的人都擠在那個時間在排隊，然後機台速度又很慢，一堆人在機台又碰到問題，一直等一直等一直等，好不容易輸入完畢房間卻還沒整理好，又再等了10幾分鐘，整個體驗非常之差，沒住過體驗這麼糟的

松江南京駅から徒歩5分くらいで便利な立地です。エレベーターはもらったカードキーをかざして降りる階を押すのですが、扉が閉まり切ると反応しなくなりそれが分からず困りました。フロントは機械でチェックインですが、スタッフがおられて見守っててくれます。日本語は通じません。
夜に爪が割れてたので爪切りは借りれますか、と問い合わせたら英語は通じないスタッフでした。昼間の方は英語は通じると思います。
お風呂は広くて足を伸ばして入れるのが良かったです。洗面所との境の扉のパッキンが少し隙間が空いてたので、シャワーが出てしまわないように気をつけて入りました。お湯はすぐに出るし水圧も問題なしです。洗面台の排水栓が持ち上がらず、水の流れが悪いのはマイナスでした。ペットボトルの水を置いてくださってたので、その蓋を間に入れて隙間を作っていました。
ベッドはクイーンサイズを選んでたので広く寝心地良かったです。
お部屋のエアコンは暖房は効かないので寒い時期は部屋着を考えて持って行く必要があります。
全体的にはプラスマイナス0でまあまあ快適に過ごせました。

Spacious but lack of cleanliness.

The staffs are very friendly and helpful. The room looks like what we expected and the size is reasonable. However, the facilities need a lot of improvements. The closet can’t be closed properly. A mirror was attached to the door of closet but with very bad lighting and distance so that it was very difficult to see.
The drain in the bathtub was clogged. Even though they sent someone to come trying to fix it but still wasn’t working. The design of the bathroom was interesting, while taking shower, the water will splash everywhere and it will go all the way to the sink area.

The carpet of the room was FILTHY. Wasn’t sure what were those stains on the floor.

My reservation was transferred to Nankang station just before the arrival. Without proper adjustment of hotel fare, the transfer was made. The new location did not provide breakfast service, and was terrible in public transportation, etc, to name a few. I couldn't sleep during the late night noise from the staff room next. It took very long to get warm water in the shower.

非常滿意這次入住尤其是入住時櫃檯男服務員.聽到我不喜歡太暗的房間..還特別請另一位服務員帶我看房間給我選擇參考.非常感謝他的熱心.房間光線明亮.浴缸很大.棉被很舒服.交通的話訂房網說捷運從南京復興站出來...其實實際上從松江南京站5號出口出來更快只有400公尺.房間整潔安靜.唯一遺憾..電視頻道太少.....我平均1個月會到台北住宿2~3次..這次經驗非常滿意...有機會.一定再去入住...我給櫃檯服務人員100分
