Found mold at multiple locations on walls and ceiling, which causes health hazard. The room smells bad, not sure if it is from the mold or drainage. WIFI does not work. Bed is okay. Front desk was trying to find different rooms for us but it ends the same. Stayed one night uncomfortably. Thankful for letting us move out and refund for rests of the night.

The AC didn’t work when we checked into the assigned room. They had to bring a fan to cool down the room. The room size is tiny with 3 adults. The breakfast was a self-service type that you are responsible for taking your dirty dishes to the tray.

sound insulation is not very good. I constantly hear water flowing sound. My bathroom is always wet. And they know the pipe is leaking and not plan to fix it. I won't go there again. The only plus is it's just next to MRT exit.

When I booked the hotel online, I already emailed the hotel to make sure that the room is smoke-free because my kids have asthma. However, very disappointed that my room was smoky and the hotel did not even provide disposable sleepers. The room was very small, too. The only good thing about the hotel is the location. The MRT station is by the hotel.

The hotel is located just next to the exit of MRT. The room is clean and tidy. But there is really a great problem of soundproofing between rooms that I could clearly hear the sound of flushing toilet, shower and even conversation of the next room. Also, there is no restaurant in the hotel and nearby. The hotel only provide simple breakfast that you wouldn’t be interested in. If you want to have a proper meal, you have to go to the next MRT stations.

Good deal in Taipei City

It was great that it had a free valet parking in Taipei city and the parking guy and the front desk were friendly. You only need to tip the parking guy. It is right next to a subway station, so it is convenient. We got a good discounted rate through Hotels.com. The only issue was that our room was the poor air circulation in the bathroom and the water leaky from the shower area. I spoke to the front desk and the lady said that they will fix it.

Rude front desk staff

At least 2 front desk staff were rude.
1 lady with long hair in a ponytail and glasses on the morning shift, and 1 lady with very short hair on the night shift. Unfortunately for them I can speak and understand Mandarin so I know that the lady on the morning shift tried to trick us. The look on her face when I spoke to her in Mandarin on the 2nd encounter was unforgettable. I hope that taught her a lesson.

MY family of 4 enjoyed our stay there , with its excellent location and room cleanliness We stayed on the 16th floor, with a good view to 101 in the distance.

Plenty of eating options in the neighbourhood on both side of zhong xiao dong lu as well.

when we arrived at the hotel at 12 noon. room isn't ready and been told the room will be ready by 3pm. we have to wait for 3 hrs before check in.
when we arrived to our room. room is small, tight and dark. not very clean, than we were checking out out amenities at our room. they were short of bath towel. I decided to go out the room to housekeeping and try to get an extra towel. I saw a lady by the housekeeping area and I ask her for extra towel, she ask me that your room do have towels. why do you need more! I told her I only got one towel in my room and we have two people staying in the room. she gave me an extra towel but with a dirty look on her face.
than we check our bed and find out there were hair's on our bed. inside and outside the blanket, also we did found hair on the pillow. the room lighting control was sucks. hard to find out which switched belong to which lights. the next morning we were trying to go for an coffee somewhere closed to the hotel area and we were down by the lobby. bit the tidy front of the house were full of guests waiting online for getting some info from the front desk stuffs. so we were waiting by the lobby restaurant couch. bit told by the waitress that if you are not the restaurant guest you can't sit here to wait. we got kick out. so decided to walk around the area to find a coffee shop near by the hotel without knowing where should we go!

KDM Stay

Stayed at the KDM many times dating back to BEFORE the MRT came to Taipei. In the past it was becoming kinda run down, but now they have renovated and the rooms are much nicer. Small, but clean. Only problem I had was the noise. The room doors are like a bank vault closing.
Literally, just steps from the MRT Blue Line, so very easy to get around.

One day I forgot the voucher one of the staff issue me another one. The next day I lost my voucher one of the staff refused to give me other voucher and she was arrogant, refused to give me the voucher. We book two room and instead of written the voucher to the individual they wrote for the all the occupant in the room and expect everyone to go to breakfast at the same time. Not very good and the water keep spilling outside.

Good Location for travelling in Taipei

Good Location and comfortable stay. 2 mins walk from the MRT station as hotel entrance is just outside the exit. The lift elevator is quite old and the walls are not that sound-proof. Hope there is an improvement as they are still upgrading the hotels as a whole. The advantage of staying in this hotel is that there is a Airport Bus operated by Evergreen at the bus stop opposite the hotel. I will choose this hotel as the price and location is really value for money.

My room was small, but newly renovated and clean. The bathroom was also new and had a shower and bathtub. The hotel restaurant was closed for renovations, but coupons were provided, free of charge, for daily breakfasts two minutes down the street at Mr. Brown Coffee, a chain coffee shop. Mr. Brown offered only things like tuna sandwiches for breakfast, but the food was fine.

Inexpensive hotel in downtown Taipei

The hotel is old an not yet renovated from the 60's. There is no heat or AC in the rooms... just a blower. The bed was comfortable and clean but the room and functions were old and run down. The wifi was very week and did not connect in the rooms or other parts of the hotel

Good location but rooms are squeezy

Starting by the positive, staff is welcoming, location is extremely convenient (just outside Zhongxiao Xinsheng MRT station, itself 2 stations away from Taipei Main Station, and right next to Evergreen bus stop from/to the airport) and overall experience is not bad. The hotel is currently in the middle of renovations, however the upgrade left us perplexed as to the lack of attention to details: washbasin in the room rather than in the bathroom, area near windows not cleaned after renovation (out of sight, out of mind...), some of the tiles in the bathroom either not laid out, or broken but not replaced... and the door of the shower didn't stop the water from flowing out... Given the small size of the rooms, it would have made more sense to only have a shower (there are both shower and bath!) and use the space occupied by the bathtub for a more optimized (logical?) bathroom layout. In turn, this would have left more space in the room itself for a bigger cupboard or more space for the luggage (we had to stack the 2 big suitcases on top of each other). Finally, breakfast was quite disappointing. Would we come back? Maybe. There are better options in Taipei, and much worse too....

Great Convenient Location!

Very nice location centrally located in Taiwan City. On the blue and orange line itself and only 2 stops from Taiwan Main Station MRT. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at the hotel. Water pipe can be a little noisy at night and the hotel could definitely offer better breakfast (selection and taste) but otherwise a solid choice for Taipei.

this hotel sell your booking to other customers!

My family had a late flight to Taipei that night, when we arrived to the KDM hotel it was about 10:00 pm, we were exhausted and my son was in fever. The hotel staff told me that he did not have my reservation (even I shown him the Hotels.com confirmation email and the reservation was made over 2 months prior) and said they were fully booked for that night. I called Hotels.com that night and finally they were able to arrange a substitute hotel for that night. By the time we get to that substitute hotel, it was already 11:30 pm.
I have booked a family room with two double beds from KDM hotels, and the substitute hotel room was a twin room with two single beds. I end up spent the night in a sofa with no bed to sleep.

Relative cheap hotel near the metro station

Taipei is well connected via their metro system. we were only looking for some relative cheap hotel to stay for the few nights which are near the metro stations on the main line. KDM came up just nice fitting our profile as the hotel is located just next to the entrance/exit when you came up from the escalators. Room cleanliness is acceptable to me and the staff service are nice. Only bad point is that this hotel doesn't serve breakfast. Not to worry though as you can always get a quick bite off the streets.

Our room is dirty. We killed six mosquito as soon as we entered into our room and it's January. The window curtain is dusty. Black dirt mark in bathroom ceiling and mold in bathroom curtain. The only good thing about this hotel is it is next to a subway station and that there's a really good pan fry dumpling place within walking distance. Otherwise there is nothing good about this hotel.

It is just 10 metres from a subway exit. The room was clean and serviced daily. The breakfast included lots of different salads, eggs or ham, noodles or rice, congee, toast.

You can get to and from the hotel by catching an airport bus 5201 run by Evergreen Bus which stops at the opposite side of the hotel. The cost is NTD 140.

Great location. Subway station is the interchange for 2 lines. Gets you to almost any part of Taipei.

10 mins walk to the Electroncis MALL. Next to residential housing with lots of local food.

MacDonald, Burger King, and 7-11 are all closed by.

Walking distance to SOGO (lots of tourist shopping)

Only down side, rooms are old, furniture are old. Recent trip, no thermostat to control the AC. Matters are too hard, and bed too short for people above 1.65m

It is very conveniently located and reasonably priced. You can take the metro in front of the hotel and go anywhere in the city. You can walk eastward on the Zhongxiao East Road to the upscale shopping district. At the end of the trip, you can take the bus across the street to the airport.

You're paying for the location

Pros: Super, super great location. Right on top of the Zhongxiao Xingshen station - if you drew a circle whose edges went through all the major attractions, this station would be right in the middle of the circle. Also right by a 5201 bus stop, which is one of the express buses for Taipei Taoyuan Airport. Immediate neighborhood is somewhat quiet, but there's a 7-11 a 5 min jaunt down the side road. Breakfast is decent, but you should go for something local if you have time. Cons: Long overdue for some interior renovation. It's clean, sure, but the linens are all obviously kinda old (and have cigarette burns), and this place operates on old-school \"the whole bathroom is meant to get wet when you shower\" kind of style. Fridge was also full of some kind of calcium build-up.

Pleasant stay in the hot summer

We arrived early for check-in time, so we left our luggage at front desk and went out to start our tour. As we came back from sight seeing in the city at 9pm, the front desk staff immediately recognized us, and had everything ready for us in less than a minute.

We bumped into a few personal questions, and as we inquired directions from the front desk staff, they are pretty knowledgeable on where to go and what to do. That's very helpful and we do appreciate that.

Overall I would consider coming back here if I need to visit this city again.

The room interior and amenities looks pretty old but at least they are not dirty. Location of the hotel could not get any better as it is located just beside the metro exit No 3. Wonderful Weekend Getaway!

For those familiar with Asian hotels, the facility is exceptional. The hotel is an older one. However, the rooms were clean, water was hot for showering, and the breakfast reflect the culture. I must rave over the staff. They were by far the most friendliest! We were greeted with smiles every time we walked through the door. If we needed directions or recommendations, they were happy to provide it and assist in anyway possible. The MRT station is directly in front of the hotel. It is perfect for traveling around Taipei. The hotel is not a Hilton or Ritz Carlton, but it is perfect for the price and experience.

Very good location as entrance to metro is just beside the hotel. Metro is also an interchange, so quite central.

Amenities are enough to get by. Room looks clean, but has a strong cigarette smell. The chairs also make me itched. The air-con is very strong, cold & noisy, even when set to low (seemed no different between high & low). Room is also noisy. Staff is good & friendly, & able to direct us to the places we wanted. Breakfast is enough to get by.

Overall, it is sufficient to get by for short trips based on the costs.

Good location hotel.
Value for money if you are just looking for a night to sleep and good location which is near to everything.
Do not expect facilities.
Clean with old furnitures and accessories.

close to the metro

The hotel room is comfotable. The breakfast is average. Staff is not so friendly but the service is acceptable. Close to the metro is the advantage.

Mom traveling with child

Good value.

Location can't be beat. Beds were fine. Pillows not great. Breakfast decent. Wifi always available in room but speed was slow.
