Clean room, right across bus stop, maybe 5-10 minute to nearest metro station. Breakfast included was a plus, only slight changes from day to day but mostly the same. Very courteous staff. They provide 2 bottles of water each day if you allow for room service. Nice sized room. Mostly quiet. Good central location with ximending on one side and Taipei 101 on the opposite side of the hotel's location.

No gym. No Pool. Pillows softer than my liking. Overall good and pleasant stay. Would stay again.

1. 房間整體而言是乾淨的，唯獨浴室蓮蓬頭的管子上有一點點污漬。
2. 免治馬桶的坐墊傾斜一邊 。
3. 雖然沒有暖氣，但房間不冷舒適 。

The hotel is located at an excellent location that is close to MRT Station and next to a police station. There is a big Poya beauty shop opposite to the hotel that makes my shopping easy. Excellent location with plenty of greenery around. The hotel is easily accessible via multiple MRT lines and bus routes. The front desk staff were very kind and helpful. I arrived a bit before check-in time and was pleasantly surprised to receive my room early — a great relief after a long trip. The complimentary breakfast throughout my stay was a nice bonus. The room was spacious and very clean. The only downside was that the Wi-Fi was quite slow.

This was our second stay at Sonnien as we were satisfied with our stay of 9 nights in 2024.
The first room assigned to us was extremely small and it was labelled as a Superior Queen room. The Expedia site did not indicate it was a much smaller room compared to the Standard Double which we booked in 2024. After two nights putting up with the small room we finally asked to be switched to the same room type in 2024 as we still had 6 additional nights. Room admin person was very kind and nice and helped us with that.

The property is convenient to the subway, parks and restaurants. The room had 2 beds and was spacious. We appreciated the daily sodas and water that were replenished in the room. The morning Chinese breakfast was adequate - good variety but the food was a bit cold. Service from staff was excellent - we had packages delivered, they assisted with making change for the laundry and loaned umbrellas to us. A good value for a very convenient location!

Great hotel in Taipei. Clean, great international breakfast, great service desk staff! The location is very good, although not next to the metro it’s a few minutes walk to one of 2 stations that gives access to the red, blue, and orange lines. Excellent work Sonnien!

Leisure stay for a couple in central Taipei.

Overall, we had an enjoyable stay at Sonnien.
Well located near the MRT and the beautiful Da-an park.
Good room with space to open suitcases. Bathroom had good shelf space but I found the toilet roll holder in a very difficult place to reach, too low down.
Restaurant only for breakfast. This choice available was primarily to Asian tastes. For western tastes, the cereal was limited to muesli and cornflakes. Scrambled egg available daily but sausages and other items only on certain days. Bread, rolls and croissants also variable.
Staff provided good service. Pretty good value for money. We are happy to recommend Sonnien.

As soon as I entered the room, there was a bad odor (either musty or foot odor). The housekeeping staff kindly provided ozone deodorization and fragrance services, but they were ineffective. The hot water was not hot enough, which is especially unacceptable considering it was a Friday and the hotel was not fully booked.

We stayed 8 nights. Overall a good hotel. Staff very friendly and responsive. Only improvement we suggest is for housekeeping to vacuum the floor every day. Walking distance to three MRT stations and close to 永康街 shopping area. Also close to the Taipei Main Station, only two stops away. Breakfast has healthy options.

We had a wonderful stay at The Sonnien Hotel! The room was large enough for the 4 of us with a bath and separate shower. There were complimentary waters restocked daily and a copious breakfast buffet included as well. The location was great and the staff was excellent!

I had a pleasant stay at Sonnien Hotel overall. The location is convenient, and the reception area is well-appointed, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. My room was clean and well-maintained, though the bed was quite firm, which was a bit uncomfortable for my back—this might simply come down to personal preference.

One aspect that could be improved is housekeeping consistency. On the first day, Amy did an outstanding job cleaning my room, but the following day, a different housekeeper provided less thorough service, and the toilet was left uncleaned.

Despite these minor concerns, I enjoyed my stay and would consider returning in the future.

Really clean and felt really safe. Tucked between a police station and an elementary school, just a really nice quiet place. I will say the walls are kinda thin so you might hear a loud neighbor but otherwise pretty quiet. Close to an MRT entry but still a bit of a walk to the platform.
