The first room offered was dirty and run down. They gave me another room (double as opposed to the junior suite I purchased). The second room smelled strongly of bug spray. When I checked for traps I found sex toys under the furniture. I checked out and didn’t spend the night. Water on the floor in the lobby, overall a run down condotion.

Location was central and accessible to everything. Rooms 1-2-3 are only accessible by stairs so going up with heavy luggage was kind of difficult. The walls are very thin and you can hear EVERYTHING from next door. The rooms are very spacious but bed and pillows are hard. The structure is absolutely an old gem with centuries of super well preserved history. Staff is very very nice and helpful.

Overall a very good stay. Lovely room with balcony overlooking small street to the front. Great location for all of the must see attractions including the Alahambra and the Cathedral. Breakfast was good. Lots of little touches in room made us feel really welcome. Only downside was noise from other rooms. Neighbour clearly had OCD taking over 5 mins to lock/unlock door at all times of the day and night. Take earplugs if you’re a light sleeper, lesson learnt as noise travels.

This a top of the top property. Just the building is so beautiful that you can't believe your eyes. The staff is extra friendly, fun, helpful, there is never a no. The room is just amazing (Room 4), huge, great views of the Alhambra.
Best location in town, you can walk everywhere.
The breakfast was nice and offer plenty of gluten free stuff which I found thoughtful.
Nothing to complain about, beautiful building, well maintained. Well done you guys for keeping it so well.

This is a beautiful building in sight of the Alhambra. Short walk to various points of interest and restaurants. Just be aware that there are a lot of stairs, some of which were uneven.

Delightful palace hotel in Granada

The hotel is lovely. Stayed in a junior suite which was magnificent....very large, super clean, very comfortable bed and a view of the Alhambra out the window. The only knock on the hotel is that if you are on the second floor you'll have to carry your luggage up and down the stairs as there is no elevator. It's a small price to pay to stay at this gem. Also, the location is ideal; right in the middle of everything. Keep in mind that if you drive into Granada, the parking is off-site and you'll need to take a taxi to the property. Again, a small price to pay.

This property is truly unique. It is a nicely renovated very old home right at the base of the hill below the Alhambra. Overall, a lot of space, with windows to the exterior as well as into the courtyard and foyer. You absolutely feel like you stepped back at least 200 years. What you should know is that there isnt any parking as that is impossible in the hostoric district. That's fairly typical in any of Spains historic hotels. A taxi can get you to the door if you can't get your bags from the nearest parking garage. Truly a delightful hotel that focusses more on historic accuracy over modern ammentities. However they wove in some creature comforts like a jetted tub and double paned windows on the street side.

This hotel should have 5+++ stars and a rating of 10+. The area is perfect. You’re in the middle of a historic area. Keep in mind if you are driving to Granada, try to find pubic parking. We ended up parking at Parking Triunfo. **Avenida de la Constitución, 20** Take a taxi to the hotel because it’s a UNESCO Heritage sight and regular cars cannot drive in. Other than this, the hotel has a total of 5 rooms and it is seriously historic and beautiful. Just the smallest details made a huge difference. The staff was also so friendly and professional. The breakfast was made by a lovely lady and delicious. It was an amazing experience.

Little Gem with Great Lication!

The hotel was extremely convenient and well-situated for our visit to the Alhambra. With a spot in the street that runs next to the river and at the base of the Alhambra walls above, it was quite an impressive location.
We found the hotel to be quite comfortable, quiet, charming, and the staff to be always available, ready to help, and friendly. Everyone at the desk who we encountered spoke English well. We were thankful for that. Would definitely return if I had the the opportunity to visit Grenada again.

We booked for 2 nights and decided to stay a 3rd night last minute. Both rooms were perfect, location, and facility were amazing. The staff and Raquel were so kind and helpful. She helped up book some tickets to the Alhambra. Gave us a map of the city and suggested places we should see around town. We had an early depature and helped us get a taxi at 6am. Best services and verg kind caring staff. Location is beautiful.

Boutique hotel with quaint Courtyards.
Easy walking to several sites.
Shower stall was leaky, but not unexpected given the age of the building. Didn’t cause much problems.
Parking was a bit far and expensive! Did reiterate that it’s best to take public transportation for Spanish holidays, more convenient and probably cheaper and faster than driving.

The hotel has history. Built in the 1600s. That was cool. There are only 5 rooms. They are attached to their sister hotel that has 18 rooms. There are little patios/coirtyards everywhere to sit and relax. Antique furniture, cool art, vases, etc. If you look at the pics of the rooms, one has a balcony inside of the entrance courtyard. That was my room. It was just awesome. You are on the most famous street, Darro. Which is also historic and sits along the small Darro river. You are at the bottom of the high hill/cliff that Alhambra sits on. What a perfect location. You can look up and see the castle towers etc. Really nice at night. There are restaurants, shops and alot of \"cave\" bars with Flamenco shows. We went to one and it was great. Esperanza at the front desk was great. And the most awesome person in all of Spain is Mari. She serves the breakfast and does alot of things. She is so fun. She is full of life. Very entertaining.

Just keep in mind, the building is very old obviously so the wifi doesn’t always travel through the thick walls. The advertised parking is a 15 minutes taxi ride away. No access to the hotel with private car. The hotel did not tell us about this in advance, and we spent almost two hours driving around, taking taxi etc until we could check in with our luggage.
Very bad experience, and mid-advertising of parking availability.

Granada is a historic place dont expect more the history part is breath taking.
The hotel is nice to sleep in and leave good bed and pillow.
Was not super clean there was one dirty towel, no elevator I arrived and was shocked there isn’t elevator I had to help the lady who checked me in to carry the bag up. When I checked out there was someone that help me thank fully carry it thankfully. The stuff is great very helpful and responsive. The heater was on didn’t know how to turn it off and the phone to the reception didn’t work.
It’s more 3 star hotel not 5

This is an old building without a lift so be prepared for some stairs. It is tastefully decorated and was in a great position just off the Plaza Nueva. Staff were very helpful and friendly. There is no parking here but the hotel will guide guests on this point. Afternoon tea and snacks were provided.

Good location in very nice environment. Walking distance to major attractions. The only problems is that we had a car (rental) used for the road trip through the Andalusia region and this hotel is not accessible by car as only taxis and locals can enter the area by car. We had to leave the car in a parking garage, taxi to the hotel entrance, and carry our heavy baggage to the resection area that is 1 set of stairs in a second level and on the check out the same thing as they dont have assistance service to manage the luggage.

We would gladly stay here again. The rooms were nice, spacious, in the heart of the city and within 5-10 mins of most attractions/restaurants. They were very accomodating for kids as well. It was one of 2 hotels suggested by the New York Times if you're going to visit the Alhambra (the other is in the Alhambra itself, but a bit more dated and further from the city center). We would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to others. Thanks!

This was our favorite hotel we stayed at in all of our trip to Spain! The hotel is has a boutique flavor, which we loved. Our room was very clean and turned over each day. There was also a free bottle of wine in the room after we checked in. The best part was having a view of the Alahambra from our window! Priceless. The staff was fantastic and extremely helpful. Definitely recommend staying here.

The room was dark and felt grimy- we were given our key and nobody walked us through our room. It needed space to place luggage, a table in the bathroom not a sink the size of
a table!! The TV was limited but the remote hadn’t been cleaned since the 18th century! The lady at breakfast service and the front desk were the best part of our stay.

Unique Experience in Granada!

The location is excellent , in plaza nueva, however in granada you cannot drive close to this area, that information should be disscused IN FRONT with the costumer, that wouldnt have make us go to adifferent place but would have saved us lots of stress on our artival day, the hotel is a beautiful experience, its a museum!

Fabulous hotel in the heart of old Granada

It was wonderful to step out of the heat of the day into the cool courtyard of this beautiful historic hotel. The staff were both friendly and extremely helpful, showing you around the hotel and explaining its history, providing maps of the city and the Albaicin area and highlighting sites of interest, and recommending and booking restaurants. The hotel has wonderful views and sits on a cobbled street bustling with tourists. The down side for those hoping for an early night is that the street comes even more alive at night due to the many bars and restaurants situated on it or nearby making it quite noisy until the early hours. However, we were so exhausted from all of the exploring that after the first night it wasn't a problem. All in all I would say it is a great base for exploring this stunning city and would definitely recommend it!

Definitely Not a 5-Star Hotel - not even 5 Comets!!!

Where do I begin? First there is no parking at or near the hotel - you have to drive back to the modern part of the city center and park in a municipal parking lot, schlep your luggage to the taxi queue a few blocks away and take a taxi to the hotel. (Parking was about 24 Euros for the overnight of which the hotel refunded the cost of the taxi to the hotel, but not the cost of the taxi back to the parking garage - total about 28 Euros and tons of aggravation!) Once we arrived at the hotel there are many steps to negotiate to get to the front door, and a number of steps to get to the reception (all with luggage!!). Then we had a number of steps to our room, which was cold - the heating system did not work and had to be rebooted from somewhere else. There was only intermittent internet - my wife got on and lost it, while I was never able to get on. We reported it to the receptionist (afternoon) who tried to get the internet working but could not. We reported it in the morning again and the morning receptionist was downright rude and sassy saying that she didn't know it was down - that no one had told her - so how was she to know! She told me that the system was old and that we could purchase a newer internet connection for 3.95 Euros or go to a sister hotel and use their internet!! The windows of our room were single-paned so we heard the street noise below our window well into the wee small hours of the morning! And there were no kleenex-type tissues in the bathroom - we used toilet paper to blow our noses, etc. The breakfast room was unmarked and took us 10-minutes of going up and down stairs, following the so-called instructions of the staff to find it.

The location of the hotel itself is perfect for night life and for visiting the Al Hambra (about a 2-km walk uphill the whole way - best to take a taxi), but it certainly was not worth the aggravation of the hotel! Never again!!!!! Very bad choice. And, why do you say it is 5-Star? They advertise themselves as 4-Star, but they don't even approach anywhere near that level!

The hotel building itself is very picturesque and would make a lovely museum, but NOT a hotel!

Not only would I not recommend this hotel to a friend, I wouldn't even recommend it to anyone!

First impression the taxi would not go down street, has to go all way around town. One has to climb two flights of steps without railings( no 4 star has that. Room was rustic, furniture really old, not many Ammenities , no conditioner.

Quaint and historic hotel

My husband and I staid there for 2 nights. The hotel is very well located in the bustle of the old historic neighborhood of Albayzin. Our little balcony looked out right onto the Alhambra and although it faced a very busy street, at night the noise level was not a problem. The rooms and the hotel itself are very clean with a lot of historic charm. The hotel is a birthplace of a local hero and it also serves as a museum. It really takes you back in time. As most Andalucian homes, it has a lovely inner courtyard where they also serve food. The staff was helpful, but we were pretty self sufficient and didn't require a lot. They did book a very nice walking tour for us which is well worth it if you have limited time in Granada. There are lots of great little restaurants near by and the bus to to take you up to the Alhambra is a 5 min walk away. The city center and the bohemian markets are all near by as well.

Nice hotel, but don't bring your car (park it in town and take a taxi). Great walking distance to the square, restaurants, shops, but a fairly strenuous, uphill 20-25 minute walk to Alhambra (take a shuttle bus).

Great location for exploring Granada. The self parking is not on site and you actually have to park elsewhere and walk in as the area is closed to traffic. This should be made clear on the website to prevent frustration. Otherwise, the beds were comfortable and the staff extremely helpful.

Very convenient -- but noisy!

We stayed only one night at this hotel, on a quick trip to see the Alhambra. It is in a great location to walk up to the Alhambra, and close to good shops and restaurants. The property is an attractive historic building, in good condition. The staff were very kind and helpful. The room had an eccentric -- but charming -- layout. The only problem was that our room was on the second (Euro = first) floor, right over the street which is very narrow in front of the hotel. We heard people talking (and shouting) as they passed underneath all night long. It didn't bother me much until 5:30 am, when a large group of foreign tourists (nationality withheld) streamed by, seeming to think they were cheering at a major sports event ...
