Be aware of what you are paying for. The unit has bare necessities. Bring your own shampoo. They provide hand soap only. There is a microwave oven, kettle and a toaster but only 1 outlet so you will need to move appliances around to do anything as simple as making breakfast.
The location is remote which means you will need a car to get around. There is nothing interesting going on in the immediate area.

A nice quiet location, train station and bus stop just down the road. Apartment was clean and together although some of the cupboards in the kitchen needed lifting to close and there wasn't any cleaning supplies (washing up liquid, clothes/sponges or coffee).
Had ants or some small creature that got into the kitchen and ruined the bread left out, needed to keep the kitchen spotlessly clean and food in the fridge overnight.

It never happened. They never confirmed about the availability of a travel cot or check in times so I was forced to book something else. However they still took the payment. Thieves I'm afraid. Avoid at all costs

Not recommended - kitchen useless.
Monte dos Avós Village cannot be recommended, at least not apartment/house no. 1. The place is generally worn out and need a major renovation to be at an acceptable level. The so-called kitchen lacks even the most basic stuff, personally we had to buy a sharp knife and a cutting-board. You also need to bring kitchen-cloth etc. yourself. The worst thing however was that there is a really ugly smell of old basement when you open any of the drawers in the kitchen, a clear sign of a problem with moist and lack of ventilation. Wi-fi does not work in the apartment, only in the bar area.

Disapointed - family holiday ruined
On arrival we shocked as the apartment in question didn't look anything like the photos posted on the website - then the problem with the cockroaches started finding a fully grown one in the bathroom the following morning and eggs on the kitchen surfaces. The kitchen was extremely outdated and the bedrooms seemed to be premenatly damp - we could hear our neighbours as if they were in our apartment. The cockroaches got so bad that we left the apartment mid stay as we asked for the door to be fixed and it never was whilst we were there (even tho we told the person running the place Carmen and she brought a handyman who said he would - however two days later with a 1 year old baby we really couldn't risk the volume of them coming In and the already infested kitchen so we left to an extremely apologetic Carmen - I told her this had ruined our family holiday and asked pls to sort this problem out for the sake of other families. Very disapointed for our 4 kids ruined family holiday.

Arrival was very easy, the lady who met us from the taxi spoke good English and made sure we were settled. Rooms were clean and tidy, even if a little dated. Lovely, quiet pool, as well as on site activities such as pool, barbeques and table football.
Tv was tiny and there was only four channels, but we didn't go there to watch tv. WiFi in the reception/pool area meant we could download films from Netflix to watch back in the apartment in the evening.
Overall, would recommend for a nice quiet getaway.

The pool is great but this for me it is not somewhere where I would spend an entire holiday. We used it for one night and it was clean but very basic and dated facilities. Having said that the staff were helpful and the location and setting was lovely.

Die kleine, gepflegte Anlage liegt ca. 5km von Tavira nahe der Bahnstation Livramento. Ein Auto sollte man allerdings besser haben. Das Appartment war geräumig, einfach, aber zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Die Betten und das Bad waren gut, aber die Wohnküche nicht so gemütlich. Ok, aber man kann draußen oder am Pool sitzen, wo auch das WLAN funktioniert...

We stayed one night. The kitchen drawers need refurbishing. Sofa in living room gave me a backache. TV very small. Beds squeaky but we slept very well. Air-conditioning worked well. Bathroom large mostly very clean except for a little mould at the sink. A lovely peaceful place to stay if they would improve furniture. Need a car.

A estrutura conta com várias casas velhas, com louças do banheiro muito antigas. Ninguém fica de plantão na recepção à noite, portanto o \"village\" fica sem nenhuma vigilância, com o portão aberto. Na porta das casas ficam diversos gatos esperando por comida dos hóspedes, horrível. Parecia ser mais um albergue do que um hotel. Deveriam revisar a quantidade de estrelas deles... ruim demais!!!

We hebben als gezin met 3 grotere kinderen een rustig,prettig verblijf gehad bij Montes dos Avos. Aangezien het zich in een klein gehuchtje bevindt, op rijafstand van strand en stad is een huurauto erg aan te raden als je met het vliegtuig reist. Onze gastvrouw Andrea was top, de accommodatie is eenvoudig maar ruim en netjes en bleef redelijk koel. Genoten van het zwembad, de omgeving, het strand, en alle uitstapjes. De Portugese mensen hebben wij als heel vriendelijk en geduldig in het verkeer ervaren.

Séjour médiocre à tout point de vue.On a réservé et payé d'avance 2 studios pour deux familles.A notre arrivée, la responsable, en plus de son accueil désagréable, nous a déclaré qu'elle ne s'attendait pas à recevoir les deux familles!!! Du coup, elle nous a donné un deuxième studio sous équipé, avec électricité défaillante,...Imaginez la suite!!!!

Show on Google MapsThe history of the Quinta dos Perfumes begins in the 1950s, with the creation of a factory that distilled mallows (Malva) to produce fragrant essential oils. In the 1970s, when the factory was no longer in operation, the farm was acquired by the family of the present owners, who converted it and planted vineyards of different table wine varieties.
Around the year 2000, the second generation of the family opted to convert the 40 hectares of the existing crop into a citrus orchard, one of the traditional cultures of the Algarve. Years later, already in the third generation, the family decided to create a hotel unit that opened to the public in 2013.
This was the beginning of Quinta dos Perfumes. The Farm has an excellent location, bordered in the North by EN125 road and approximately at a 10 minutes walking distance of the villages Conceição and Cabanas de Tavira with their paradise island.
It is situated close to four golf courses (Quinta da Ria, Quinta de Cima, Quinta do Vale and Quinta de Benamor), and it is both near the Algarve eastern (sotavento) eco-track and one Iberian pilgrimage route of the Caminhos de Santiago (the Ways of Saint James). A great way to get to know the Quinta is to use one of its bicycles to ride around the space.
In this walk it is almost impossible not to cross with hares, rabbits, partridges and other birds that inhabit the farm. If you are lucky you can also spot the foxes and eagles that surround the sky of the farm.
The Farm has an outdoor salt water swimming-pool, secluded inside the orange grove, where you may relax in the sun and have a drink at the end of the day. At the Rooftop terrace, the landscape stretches far beyond the orange grove until you find the sea on one side and the Algarve mountain range on the other.
It is the ideal place to enjoy our bar service, read a book or just ease up. The Farm has no restaurant service, but it is possible to prepare light meals.
