Perfect for a cheap, central and comfortable one night stay. The room was big enough for one person for a night. The bed was comfortable, and black out curtains did the job well. I would stay again for a business trip. My only negative was arriving and asking for dinner at 20.10 to be told they only had one chef and he was too busy to make any more food.

I had a fantastic club deluxe room on the 3rd floor with a front facing view up into Lower Briggate which was awesome. The room was semi circular which made it feel really big. It had high ceilings which made it feel even more spacious and it had 4 sets of windows which open to let fresh air in. The room was well decorated and had everything I needed in it Inc: Free WiFi , a small fridge , a huge tv,tea, coffee pods and Machine , a robe , tea, biscuits , bottle of water, good quality shower gels and soaps, a small safe , iron and board, huge comfortable bed and throw, coffee table and chairs, bath & shower, usb sockets at the bedsides to charge phones. It was the best location, really central walking distance to supermarket, car park , shops restaurants the canal the train station and the hotel building itself is stunning ! 9/10

We loved the room, layout was great. Loved the bed, very comfortable! Shower was good as well. Only thing I would ask for is a magnifying mirror in the bathroom as I struggled to put my lenses in!

Gorgeous building with a lovely bar and restaurant. Best cocktails I’ve had for a while and lovely staff. Room was incredibly spacious and comfortable with a lovey view of the river. Bed was extremely comfortable and huge with high quality bedding. The rooms are incredibly quiet considering the location which is excellent in the heart of everything. My only slight issue is there are few areas where painting could do with a touch up but I’d highly recommend this hotel and we’d love to stay again.

Check in dreadful. Receptionist had attitude as was training new team member.
Given incorrect room. When rand down to raise this was met with further disgruntled tones and promise of calm back in 5 mins.
After 15 mins I went downstairs to find receptionist dealing with other matters.
She continued her belligerent attitude and moved us rooms. Still not a club deluxe room but bigger.
Room was freezing (406) and air con poor. Dirty and found hairs and earrings on floor.
Overall a bad experience.
Have stayed here before and only considered this one but will certainly be using other hotels on my next visit to Leeds

Room was OK. A few hairs around and in the bath from previous guest. It was extremely cold however and when asking whether it would get warmer at reception I was advised it is controlled behind somewhere and someone will look into it. The room remained freezing cold throughout the evening and therefore was hard to sleep in. Was woken up before 8am in the morning as contractors was banging about with what sounded like metal bars and poles and plugging in electrical items in sockets. Breakfast was amazing. Will not be returning unfortunately.

Also the creme brulee for £11 was cold and not the best.

The big issue was the parking. Parked at Q park went to get the discount in morning of checkout to be told it had to be prebooked? Parking cost me £39

Stayed for one night in October 2025 for a family trip. The staff were all friendly and helpful throughout our stay, they are a real asset to the hotel and made a positive impression. The room was a good size, even with a fold-up bed for a child, though it was a bit cold initially due to the older building, but it warmed up after adjusting the heating and closing the curtains.

The location was excellent and within walking distance of everything we needed.

Breakfast was a highlight: hot food was made to order, and the continental buffet included homemade granola, which was very good.

The room was great size, nice and clean. My only issue was the coldness of the staff I emailed. I told them this is a special occasion as we got married on that day and bought additional extras which were provided but they left a note of \"happy anniversary..\" Well its a tiny thing but that extra bit of attention would have been great. Also maybe just say congrats in the email when you hear someone is getting married and want to stay at your hotel, its not that hard. :) Overall I would still rate our stay as great, room was outstanding and the view was great.

Excellent conclusion to a buiness trip, ideal lication in the heart of the city centre with shopping, clubs, pubs and restaurants close at hand. Beautiful appointed old building, with large room, clean, modern and fresh. Ensuite huge with both bath and walk-in shower and all the little details as you would expect from Malmaison. Expensive car parking if staying overnight, however for minimal cost of a few pounds allows on street parking outside the hotel between the hours of 6pm 10-pm and free from 10 pm - 8 am

We recently stayed in the suite at Malmaison Leeds, and it was genuinely one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. The room was nothing short of outstanding — spacious, beautifully designed, and immaculately presented. The attention to detail was impeccable.

The staff were simply incredible — warm, professional, and attentive without ever being intrusive. From check-in to departure, every interaction made us feel truly valued.

When you combine unbelievable staff with a perfect room, you get nothing less than perfection. Malmaison Leeds has set the bar incredibly high, and we can’t wait to return.

Upon checking it it was made very clear to me and not in the most pleasant of tones that the hotel had gone cashless and seemed as if they’d have been quite happy to put me out on the street for not realising it in the end managed to come up with an agreement with the manager, but I would be able to pay by card from the next day of my stay despite having my c details -the cash on this occasion but took around 20 minutes on check-in and wasn’t exactly the most welcoming experience, especially with this being done in front of the guests around me who were offering to pay on their card because it was turned into such a fuss. It was a little embarrassing as I was clearly travelled and had my dog and two bags in toe but the rest of the stay more than made up for it apart from the air-conditioning not working in the bedroom and it being very stuffy and hot at times however the maintenance people were fantastic at the hotel and brought me two extra fans within five minutes. I cannot fault their service they were brilliant as where all the housekeeping staff and the majority of the reception the night manager should make herself more available as my key card stopped working three times during my trip and I had to wait in reception in the middle of the night after having taken the dog out for her to come back from wherever she was 20 minutes at a time. Overall, I did enjoy my stay there and the brasseri food and staff were sublime. Very helpful- the burger is one of the best I’ve had

Room #228 & surrounding rooms I imagine are directly by a bar/club outside that has music blaring til at-least 3am on a Friday night & I suspect other evenings also. Not the hotels fault but so very loud. I think the sound proofing needs accessing urgently. Could hear other rooms way too clearly also.

Great hotel in the very centre of Leeds. Lots of bars and restaurants on the doorstep. Great base for shopping. 10-15 minute walk to First Direct Arena. Lady on the front desk who checked us in was lovely. Standard room was a great size and had everything required. Very clean. Breakfast was good quality with a wide choice to suit everyone. Gentleman who seated us for breakfast was curt and boarder-line unpleasant.

Room we were given was next to one of the internal generators. We asked about the noise but it was a known issue, rooms 130,230,330,430 are all next to the generators
Same goes for rooms 205,305,405

After being told no alternative was available, and trying to check out at almost midnight, a new room was magically available that had no humming duct noise, but the fact it took the effort of packing bags and getting a taxi elsewhere wasn’t good enough from the hotel service point of view.

Malmaison used to be ok, it’s premium economy at best these days. Staying at Premier Inn would have probably been better.

Amazing stay at this lovely hotel

I can not rate this hotel and my stay enough. I do a lot of travelling with work and stay at a lot of hotels - including the Malmaison in Manchester Deansgate only a few weeks ago. The hotel is ideally situated close to the train station and at the heart of the city so walking around and getting connection is very easy. The hotel is pleasant and to a good decent standard but what really sets this hotel apart is the fantastic hotel staff who are exceptional. Bringing that Leeds and West Yorkshire warmth to their service, you feel at ease and right at home, as only you can get in West Yorkshire. It really sets this hotel apart from being just another stay in any hotel, so one where you really feel welcomed to the city with a fantastic stay and comfortable bed too. Oh and the food & drink are exceptional!! So so good. Way surpass the usual dross or standards fare you get in some hotels so much so that we ate there every day and other mates came and joined us and loved it as well. 10/10 would definitely recommend and most definitely stay again!
