Hotel is fine, definitely not 4star. Reception and pool are well kept. Pool is covered in Lino which is peeling off. The rooms are clean but the walls in the corridors could do with repair and painting.Also the lift says that it was deemed unsafe and should have been put out of service last year. Walking distance from the beach and other great restaurants.

We spent 5 nights at Hotel Alicante Golf and had an amazing time. The staff were so friendly, always available to help and gave us all the information we needed to enjoy our stay. The pool was lovely, we always found a sun lounger when we needed one (we went early July, don’t know if this was a busy or quiet time), and the poolside cocktails were great but very expensive. We had our first meal in the El Olivo restaurant which was great but expensive, so ate all our other meals outside of the hotel. It’s a short 15 min walk to the beach where there are many restaurants, cafes and bars. The area is very safe and quiet during the day and comes alive at night, but it was still very safe and we did not have any problems with noise at the hotel. It’s a 5 min walk between 2 tram stations which we used to go to Alicante, trams were easy to use and the hotel staff were very helpful explaining this to us. I would definitely return to this hotel, I felt we had a premium experience for a bargain price.

The room was a disgrace! They had plenty of rooms which I could have been moved to as hotel was empty half the time!
I have video evidence of cracked tiles in bathroom and the handle on patio door where the light shines through the gap! I will put all this on trip advisor as don’t want anyone else paying for this state of a room!

This was our second stay at Hotel Alicante Golf, and once again, absolutely blew our minds away. We adore this hotel, and hope to get back again sometime soon. The first stay (a month prior), the pool and spa were closed, but this time, open, which made the trip so much better. The room was amazing, with a lovely view over the golf course, and the staff always super helpful and friendly! We cannot praise the hotel enough, absolutely wonderful.

Lovely terrace room overlooking the course. Great bed pillows linen. Would prefer walk in shower as bath seemed high to step into . Pool very nice . Sunbed mattress very late morning they would appear not sure why the man did not bring them out in one go as beds plastic. Breakfast if you were expecting a hot breakfast it was poor 4 heated trays which the food was warm. Cold breakfast was nice hams cheese , pastries , fruit but felt it should have been better for the standard of the hotel . Golf course excellent . Taxi always very easy to get . Beach 15 mins walk but worth it not busy even though was a weekend . Not great choice of restaurants nearby so we got a taxi into central Alicante 15 euros there you have the choice of so many places . Overall a very nice stay

The condition of the room is slightly old and a bit \"broken\"
The hairdryer is old - and the balcony door seemed to be broken, as there was a \"pestillo\" on the floor to open it and close it (To be honest, I guess this is the fault of previous guests being uncivil and breaking the room).

Visited a couple of times. Lovely hotel. Very convenient location. Comfy beds. Friendly, helpful staff. Food excellent. Pleasant rooms and outlook.

There are restricted opening times for the restaurant near the pool and construction works in progress. These need warnings before booking. Also, all weekend, weddings and celebrations are plentiful resulting in restaurant closure and pool closed. Again, prewarning required. Not good enough to just be told the night before!

Hotel Alicante Golf was a marvelous oasis in a busy touristy area. The staff was so friendly, efficient, accomodating, spoke English, and very helpful. The hotel was very classy, modern, comfortable in every way, the room wonderful, comfy clean bed, immense lux towels, great shower, and a restaurant woth flexible hours, delicious food & service, and an outdoor terrace with a lovely view. Wish we could have stayed longer. Will definitely return.

This is a big hotel but there seemed to be few guests. Nobody smiled. It was either just opening again having been closed or was about to close. No food available in the big bar but the pool bar served food till late.

Hotel rooms did not look the same as in the advertised pictures. Room stayed in wasn’t very clean and below standards for the hotel rating. Had no air-conditioning for 4 days and was only their for 5! Upgraded to another room after first night because one first given was shabby and dated. Was surprised to see that the upgraded room was very similar to first. Would not stay in this hotel again. The golf course itself was lovely and the views from the balcony room to the golf course were wonderful.

Great Location, average hotel

The hotel was on beautiful grounds and local enough to different restaurants, beach and the tram station.
The room was very basic, shocked to find no complimentary shampoo but has shower gel. We chose their breakfast on the first morning which we paid additional for, to find the breakfast was appalling. We had cold eggs, beans and bacon. Bread was ok. This put us off having dinner there, but that was not a problem as there were many restaurants close by which you could go to.
Overall location and their customer services was perfect, shame about the food.

I stayed here 4 years ago and I liked it that’s why I stayed here again. Found the rooms needing an uplift took 3 days to have someone fix the security lock.
Never did get the air condition if fixed.
We’re not customer service friendly

Furniture needs tlc, some furniture threadbare. Electricity in 1st bedroom was dangerous and faulty. Wiring joined to bedside light [ room 214] with insulating tape where the on/off switch should have been located. Bar staff inexperienced. Service very very slow. A charge of €12 to indoor pool. The poolside bar had a charge of €25 per head for lunch on arrival because there was a private birthday party on.

The property is very impressive, well located, closed from beautiful friendly beaches. Walking distance from restaurants and bars. The pool was very pleasant but there was a lack to attention to detail, like the poor flowers around the pool were very dried and they were not watered during my stay (which was over 5 days). The lift was making noise when was in used, which was scarry, I did used the stairs a lot. But... the property is beautiful, great staff just needs a bit of refurb around the common areas. The room was clean, had what we need it including the beautiful views.

A business trip - stayed one night - hotel was fine for what it was, somewhere to lay my head. Not sure I would return as a leisure visitor. Hotel is dated in areas and could do with some love. Staff were fine. Didn't utilise the golf course or pool so can't comment on either.

This is a 4star hotel and we were disappointed to find that there were no facilities to make tea or coffee in our room. Even when we requested a kettle we were told it was hotel policy not to provide them. We had to resort to room service for an early morning / late night cuppa which is not what I expect from a 4-star Spanish hotel charging 100 euros per night. Similarly, there was no waste bin in the room, we had to use the small hygiene bin in the bathroom for all our rubbish. I have fed back these comments to the hotel who have promised to consider them . Otherwise very comfortable.

Food that doesn’t measure up but.....!!!!!0

I took my husband for a golf break from our home in Campoverde, Spain and whilst the hotel is superb with regret I would not recommend their food!
I booked half board but was unaware that the evening meal would be a buffet and a very poor one at that with no service from the one member of staff that was in attendance. Needles to say we left but after reporting our disappointment to the Receptionist she saved the day or should I say the evenings celebrations by booking us a taxi to a local restaurant (La Mafia- fantastic authentic Itslian food 5*) and phoned ahead to book a table.
The breakfast was again a disappointing buffet in the same lack lustre rooms it has been our misfortune l to spend anytime in!
On check out I asked to meet one of the managers to express my concerns and I within minutes we were sat with a duty manager and an interpreter. She was very apologetic and refunded the cost of our evening meal and offered us a complimentary drink on our return, which will certainly will do but we will be wary of eating but will give the hotels poolside summer restaurant a chance but not breakfast!
Great site, staff but what a shame their food let’s both down!

A wonderful experience

This was After a terrible experience in a hotel in Barcelona the perfect get away before departing back home.
The peace and Beautiful views from the room straight over the golf course, the not over crawlde restaurants and bars and the Amazingly friendly staf, that is very helpfully.
We travelled with our Son, and to my surprise the room was huge, as even after the extra (1p) bed came in there was still plenty of room and space to run and play in the room, Lets day I didnt had to climb over beds to get out of the room like it is in most hotels.

We Will definitely visit this hotel again....

Stayed two nights in standard room. Lovely large room overlooking 18 hole. Bed was huge and really comfy. Bathroom was fine but a bit tired looking. No tea/coffee facilities in room. Steam room was out of order during our stay and spa was closed Mondays but pool and sauna were open. Easy to get to Alicante by tram. Would stay again

A little run down

The room they gave us was across from the office and had a squeaky door. Also when you went out on the balcony you looked down into the garbage area. AARP take note on what kind of room the hotel is giving your customers.

I was well looked after, in particular by the reception team( Sr. Dimas) and the Spa. Hotel needs an overall, the rooms are worn out, no toiletries, no tissues in the bathroom, no bathrobe, no slippers. There should not be a charge for towels at the pool.

Rude staff, very unpleasant and unhelpful, always seemed annoyed by everyone even if it were different persons. Very poor breakfast, all the food was cold, even scrambled eggs and sausages. No variety at breakfast, every day was the same. Was difficult to get staff's attention during breakfast.

Initial impressions of the hotel are good, nice reception and bar area. Our room was very sad and tired looking, stains on the carpet. We had booked a Standard Room, and it was quite small, only one armchair, so one of you had to sit on the bed. I hate hotels that have a combined shampoo/shower gel dispenser in the bathroom, a 4* hotel should have proper toiletries.

The restaurant lacks atmosphere, the breakfast was ok, but the buffet evening meal was dire, so much so I have written to the Hotel to complain about the evening meal and offer suggestions about rectifying the poor quality of the food. When you are paying 'good' money for half board, you expect decent food.

The hotel is ideally situated for golfers, as it is literally a 2 minute walk to the golf club.

Beware, if you use a towel from the reception you are charged 2 euros per day for its usage.

What a superb hotel this should be! Beautiful, restful pool area and grounds with shady areas under palm trees. Pool bar was not open mid June but understandable as very few people using the pool. Staff seemed a bit stretched however but very helpful and friendly. Felt a bit sorry for them ! The rooms, bathrooms especially, need modernising to do the hotel justice. Breakfast could be a bit better. 10 minutes walk to the beach.
Quiet retreat but good transport links up and down the coast . Great stay overall.

Week in the sun

Hotel was situated in a quieter part of Alicante. A little dated. Twin room was not what we had booked and waking up to two pairs of dirty women's underwear under my pillow was an unwelcomed shock to say the least. The hotel did their best to compensate, basket of fruit with a nice letter of apology and did not charge for the upgrade. Although not sure how this went unnoticed by the chambermaids and put a question on the standard of cleanliness. Toilet did not flush and problem was only resolved by us moving rooms the following day.

We had a great week here.
Hotel is 5 minutes from a tram stop with Alicante only 15 minutes by tram.
Although we stayed 'out of season', there were still several bars and food places within easy walk of the hotel in the Playa San Juan area.
The room was good with wonderful views across the 18th hole.
The only downside was the indoor pool and steam room/sauna which were poor.

The staff was good and helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean to some extent. The breakfast was also good. But I was disappointed that people other than the golfers were not allowed in the golf area. Some area must also be dedicated to people who don't play golf. My wife so wanted to go in the area but it was prohibited.

We stayed for 3 nights and we turned up early but they let us go stright to our room which was nice. We had a very nice delux room on the 3rd floor overlooking the golf course, great views but a bit nosiey from the road about 100 yards away. OK at night with the Door shut (ours didnt lock) and the aircon on. Lovely pool, shared with the ducks. It had a really nice bar area but it was never open so you had to walk a long way if you wanted anything to eat of drink. I think the hotel misses a trick not having a bar person walk around and take orders. Got very busy at the weekend with a wedding party on the Saturday and a kids party on the Sunday. Food not great and plates seemed to be left on tables and the bar long after the people had left, still the birds seemed to like that way. Hotel is not in a bad position, its easy to get to from the airport (about 35 euros) and you can get a taxi into Alacanti from there for 10-15 euros. Its about a 10 minute walk down to the beach which is fantastic and very clean. There are some very nice Tapas bars down there along the front, but none of the menus we looked at had any english translations. All in all not a bad hotel, they just dont seem to try very hard and not sure many of the staff have had any training. Not sure how they get on when it is full.

Lovely hotel, 10 minute walk to the beach.

The hotel has great facilities and great food. We didn't include any food when booking, but ate in the Restuarant on 2 nights and it was lovely. We ate the buffet one night and it was ok. Hotel staff were lovely and advised on locality.
We got the tram into alicante one day which took about 15mins. Although I would recommend the beach near the hotel over alicante. The only downside, was that they had a salsa event on over the weekend and they didn't finish till approx 5am for two nights. We were given warning of noise the day it began, but not when booking or any further information. We would however stay again if there were no events on.

We spent two weeks at this hotel, to relax and visit relatives. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made our stay a pleasure. The room had a lovely view of the golf course and was peaceful and relaxing despite the fiesta going on outside. The food was good but choice was limited.The room was clean and the air conditioning was not noisy as mentioned in other reviews.

A relaxed stay

I was a bit put off other reviews which said the hotel was tired and that the pool was dubious. However, I have been pleasantly surprised. Yes, there are areas which are a bit tired but overall the hotel is clean and a good standard. The outdoor pool is clean - but freezing! The indoor pool is tiny so didn't bother. There are a few cafés nearby for very reasonably priced snacks and it's 10 minutes walk from the beach. The 'resort' is still very quiet with a few bars still closed for the winter it seems but by the end of our stay more were opening up. The staff were polite but not overly friendly. It does what it says on the tin and I was very comfortable at the hotel.

Great hotel long walk to beach

Beautifull hotel with nice balcony and views of golf course. Good meals at reasonable prices. Five star except for distance to beach and some noisy drinkers.

I wouldn't go back

Except for the hotel staff who were very nice and tried their best, my experience was bad. The hotel can be easily stripped of two or three stars, outdated rooms, uncomfortable beds, not enough pillows and bad food!
