Unfortunately, the property didn't meet expectations and wasn't as described on the website.

The issues I experienced include:
- Shabby and dirty room with a VERY strong chemical smell
- Non-functional stove and barely working air conditioner
- Broken window hinges making it hard to open the window
- Shabby Bathroom lacking essentials like hairdryer, foot towel, shower gel, and shampoo
- Unpleasant odors in the hallway and room, definitely from cigarette and marijuana smoke

These issues made my stay extremely uncomfortable, and I'm disappointed with the misleading listing. Off course I left earlier and paid for another hotel, and this property never return my money, called to hotels.com multiple times and requested another hotel or refund, but no luck.

Staff do NOT speak English.

Do not believe the photos attached to this listing!! They must be from when the hotel was new, because my room (& the hotel in general) definitely did not look like the pictures that I looked at before booking. If they were accurate, I probably wouldn't have booked here. This is definitely not what I would class as a 4* hotel (as they claim on their website).

While there is a kitchenette, there's a sign above it saying it's only to be used to reheat food, not cook. The refrigerator didn't work well at all. The hot water in the shower was barely what I would call warm. None of the reception staff I dealt with over numerous days spoke English (which I wouldn't care about normally, but it's one of the claims made on the listing page). The only good thing I can come up with is it was relatively inexpensive, the bed was comfortable and it was within walking distance of a number of areas/attractions. If all you need is a bed for the night, this is your place, but if you're looking for something a little more, look elsewhere.

It's my second time staying in this hotel...Wifi much better than before...Very good Service..Whatever requests we made were immediately taken care of...All the rooms are very spacious and fully carpeted with a kitchenette...Compared to other hotels you really get much more than what you pay for....On the negative side, Breakfast menu needs to be upgraded, carpets were clean but could be improved with some washing and scrubbing, Swimming pool only opens at 11:00 and closes too early at night due to it been part of the Gym and spa

Wouldn't recommend, a disappointment.

Payed less to stay in hostels and everything in them was better than here. I don't usually give bad reviews but for the price I think it needs one. All of the sheets/towels had stains, the shower was a dribble, the toilet was barely attached to the wall and there was no wifi in my room. Sorry but I wouldn't recommend, I was excited to stay here for the start of my trip as the recommendations appeared good but everything wasn't to standard.

Hotel location great but hotel is very run down

Hotel location is very easy to find and has a few shops around to get food and drink. Check-in was very quick. The room however was very poor and is run down. The ceiling had a lot of damp with breaks in. The room wasn't the cleanest and there were a lot of stain marks on the bed and a lot of dust and rubbish under the bed and sofa. The air-con didn't work very well but luckily it wasn't too hotel. We mainly booked the room as it is listed as being an apartment based however this is somewhat untrue. There were no cooking equipment or even tea / coffee sets. There is a small work area with sauna / steam / pool and jacuzzi but we were told that we had to pay to use these services. (even though the are listed on the hotel listing) Breakfast was ok but was very limited to what was there. But overall ok.

The AC unit leaked on the floor the entire time filled up the garbage can and made a huge puddle in the carpet

The front window would not close all the way and the street Noise thus came in super loud.

The hot water didn't work the first day

Unhelpful desk clerks; unresponsive to a broken window, cold water (shower), spotty wifi. The two queen beds are actually two twins. The luxury pillowtop mattresses are had and flat. The pillows are hard. Nothing to do or see in this section of town.

Metro stop is about 5 - 6 mins walk away.

You get what you pay for...

The room size was quite good, but the room needed some upkeep, in terms of painting, patching of marks and dents on the walls, etc. The hotel did not have hot water for the first 36 hours of my stay, and there was never any sort of apology or concession that this was unacceptable. The TV remote did not work, and the TV was just standard definition, even though it was a flat screen. The breakfast was the same every morning, which is typical for this type of hotel. The hotel is in a transition neighborhood between good real estate and shadier parts of town. I did not visit the pool or the workout room. The staff person helped me arrange to get a good ride to the airport. In my four-night stay, I could never get a fresh towel, despite my attempts.

A nightmare

Terrible. The cleaning was awful. The internet was a nightmare, very slow. I lost some stuff from the room and nobody gave me an answer. I asked to talk to the manager, and I was not allowed they didn't even let me have the manager's email to express my concern.
The parking is terrible.

nice enough hotel

the hotel is nice, close to local amenities etc although it is in a busy street but you cant hear any noise from inside your room. the bed was super comfy a large super king so if your looking to get a good nights sleep after a long flight then the beds will do the trick. there is a indoor pool which is nice but could be such much more,there is no showers at the pool to shower before you enter the pool or when you leave which is essential due to hygiene. the hot tub/Jacuzzi wasn't running at all shame really as it would make the experience much better and make the hotel more attractive for others to book. the wifi was awful didn't work most days and when it did it was so slow you just gave up trying this was shared with nearly all the guests there. also reading reviews by others the wifi issue comes up as the most let down so it really needs to be fixed completely as its letting the hotel down. breakfast was great really nice and a lot of choice. overall it was a pleasant stay and would recommend if you wanted a couple of days rest in a comfy bed/room

Our 1st front desk attendant was unhelpful and unfriendly. Eduardo, I'm not sure what his title is, saved out stay by being super helpful and patient and taking the time to repeat himself when we didn't understand. He got our room changes when the TV didn't work. AND got the WIFI to connect in the room.

Good room, good location, but a few things let it down for me. No kitchen equipment other than random numbers of each kind of cutlery and crockery, despite it having a cook top. I asked on two occasions for a sharp knife and an pot to cook with, nothing was provided. I was also told cooking in the room was not permitted. Microwave didn't work. No wine glasses. Pool was dirty and restaurant was not operating during my stay. Positives were that a free breakfast was provided (unexpected), I was given an adapter plug when I checked in for use during my stay and reception staff were great and helpful on things to do on check-in and in printing a boarding pass.

Although the hotel is only a few years old it was showings signs of needing some maintenance. However overall our stay was fine and we were well catered for.

Room was perfect for our needs - we had a triple room as are travelling with our toddler. Note it is in montserrat, not st telmo per se ... but it suited us to be on the fringe of the hubbub for these 4 days and the area is safe and calm. It was a good sized hotel room with aircon (a must in a high rise in BA summer). Whilst there is a microwave, fridge and sink there is no hot plate in the kitchenette. We didn't need it as so many great italian and spanish restaurants nearby, but just managing expectations of kitchenette. We all thought the beds extremely comfy and appreciated the sleep in that the thick blind afforded us jet lagged souls. Staff were helpful though the desk folk changed seemingly daily. We would definitely stay there again.

Nice hotel but could do better

We were at this hotel in November with our two-year old and we enjoyed our stay overall. It is close to downtown and there are plenty of place to eat around this hotel.

The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. They helped us with booking the shows, calling taxis etc.
The room had good comfort but it was missing some basic things that are not even expensive. Having a mirror in the room would be tremendously helpful. Bathroom was the place that had a mirror. Bathroom door wouldn't lock which could be an issue with a small kid.
The view from the hotel was ok but you probably won't get any better view in that area.
The breakfast was so-so and the staff serving the breakfast were unhelpful. One of the rare places in Argentina that was less friendly for kids.
Overall our stay was quite good though.

Same-Sex Marriage in Argentina

The staff made all the difference during the six days my partner and I stayed at this hotel. This wasn't the first time we had booked reservations through them. The staff cooperated during all of the process when we had to validate we were \"living\" there for the legal required amount of time Argentina's laws established. We will return.

City in deep decline

Unfortunately the Hotel fits well in the overall contest: dirty. The whole city can be described, with little exception, as a open air garbage dump and graffiti \"art show\". What a shame. All it would take is some serious cleaning, power washing and painting. But that, requires a change of heart, which is much more difficult to attain. Goodbye Argentina.

Excellent hotel, would definately stay again. Bed was huge and very comfortable and the room and facilities were very good. A couple of minor niggles, the knob which switches the water between the shower and bath wouldn't work so had to fill the bath with the shower and the towels were often forgotten when the room was made up - both of these niggles were the same for our friends. But, once we called reception, towels appeared within minutes! There were intermittent problems with the pool and jacuzzi so they weren't open every day. But, these are small things and I would still book this hotel again in a heartbeat. With the exception of one member of the late night bar staff, all other staff were exceptionally helpful and couldn't do enough for you.

Location was fine (for the price) and we particularly liked being away from the tourist area and finding Le Famiglie restaurant just down the road (which was magnificent, full of locals and not another tourist in sight!) Comfortable, fully functioning room with all necessary provided. This is not an international 5 star hotel in the CBD but nor is the price. Enjoyed the walk to the tourist sites and always returned to a warm welcome.

The Monserrat Apart Hotel in Buenos Aires -

was a welcome relief after camping in Patagonia. The bed was enormous and very comfortable, the bathroom spotless and the included breakfast was enough to keep us going till dinner. We had a meal at the hotel on the first night and it was exceptional. We were pleasantly surprised. There are also some very good restaurants quite close. We usually stay in San Telmo, so were a bit lost here, but the quality of the hotel and reasonable cost more than made up for it. Highly recommended!

Good for the price.

My check in to the hotel was simple and quick. I recommend this hotel to someone who is looking for a good deal for the money. The room had a slight stink to it, but I just think it was the building. I was only in the hotel for 2 nights, so I requested no maid service. My reason for this is that i read online that another customer had somethings stolen from their room. The location is not the best, but it is close and major attractions are in 25 mins walking distance. The room was simple, but clean, and the size was big. I say that this hotel was good for the PRICE. NOT a honeymoon spot, but for someone who will just sleep in the room this will do. One great thing is that they had live music when I checked in on Tuesday night.

The hotel was modern and clean. The staff was extremely helpful in recommending tango shows, restaurants, shopping, and attractions. You can walk to Avenida 9 de Julio from the hotel in just a few minutes. The hotel itself is not on a big street but I felt safe coming and going at night. There's a restaurant down the block called Cuba Mia with excellent food and dancing every night.

Wonderful stay at Monserrat Apart Hotel

The Monserrat was fabulous. Very contemporary, clean and uber comfortable. My husband and 3 year old were both under the weather in BA, and the staff was very nice about letting us check in early. Replenishing of the complimentary breakfast buffet was a bit slow...but did happen and eggs and lots of other goodies are included which is unusual. Nice outside patio eating area. Pool, spa area opens a bit late and closes early 7pm...but this hotel has so much else to offer that the pool is just extra. If I am ever lucky enough to be back in BA again I will definitely stay here.

Tuve muchos problemas con el alojamiento y no me solucionaron ninguno. El día anterior llamé para preguntar si tenían cochera y me dijeron que sí, cuando llegue al alojamiento no tenían habilitada la cochera, la habitación que me dieron no tenía cocina, cuado fueron condiciones por las que elegí el lugar, la ventana estaba rota y entraba frío. Pedí el cambio de habitación y me dijeron que lo podían hacer al día siguiente y cuando me mostraron la habitación estaba en corto circuito. Le falta mucho mantenimiento al lugar, las empleadas no me dieron solución, consultaban con los dueños y no resolvían nada. La verdad que muy caro para lo que es el lugar. No lo recomiendo

Es un apart ,no tenia la cocina,pava electrica .
La luz del baño solo andaba una chiquita.
Los veladores estan deconectados .
La habitacion solo tiene una luz y una lampara .
Fui 4 noches.Sábado y domingo no limpian .La cama no la hacen recien limpiaron muy por arriba el lunes a la tarde.
Tenes que pedir cuando se acaba el higienico ,cuando necesitas toallas ...
No es lo que muestarn de ninguna manera .
Lo unico bueno es la atencion de yanina en recepcion.
En las fotos se ve ,luz que no anda .y como debia amontonar los toallones por dalta de limpieza .Todo eso hace olor.El tacho .Utilizo hitel,bunca ne paso algo asi

Un desastre TODO. La cama son sábanas, el baño sin toallas (llame para.pedir toallones y me dijeron NO HAY MÁS) tuvimos que secarnos con una toalla de mano DOS PERSONAS. UN DESASTRE. Había cucarachas en la habitación y la frutilla del postre QUEDAMOS ENCERRADOS EN EL MONTACOCHES y tuve que abrir YOOOOOO las puertas manualmente con una cadena y engrasarme todo porque no tienen personal de mantenimiento. Todavía estoy esperando las disculpas correspondientes porque resarcimiento NO VA A HABER, pedí detergente para limpiarme las manos y NO HABIA así que el dueño es bien ratón

Chegamos ao Hotel e o vigia estava dormindo. Ao entrarmos no quarto uma barata saiu correndo. O carpete era todo manchado, a cama velha e suja. O café da manhã nem queijo tinha. Simplesmente horrível. Trocamos de hotel ao passarmos a primeira noite.

Achei o lugar muito sujo, principalmente o local das refeições. Chegamos a ver duas baratas no local. O café da manhã, fraco com poucas opções. Os funcionários ríspidos, com exceção das funcionarias mulheres, que eram mais agradáveis. A qualidade do sinal de wi-fi muito ruim, nos deixando quase sem acesso. O papel higiênico de baixíssima qualidade, toalhas ásperas, lençóis furados. Não recomendo o hotel à ninguem.

Espantoso. Una estafa

El hotel es pesimo, muy mal estado, sucio, habitaciones con olor, deterioradas, camas con colchones en mal estado y sabanas manchadas.las fotos de la app no coinciden con el hotel. Nunca mas contrato a traves de la app. Cuando llegue y lo vi pedi me devolvieran el dinero y me dijeron que no podian hacerlo porque compre x la app.

Não vale a pena...

hotel está com academia e piscina fechados, aparenta não receber manutenção a algum tempo, lençol da cama estava rasgado, o café da manhã é bem fraco e sempre a mesma coisa, ar condicionado barulhento, confie que não funcionava, sem adaptador para tomada e a mobilia estava parcialmente quebrada. Não recomendo!

Decepcionante, não é mais o que está nas fotos!!

Já havia ficado hospedada neste hotel há quatro anos atrás, decidi retornar porque dá primeira vez foi muito bom, o hotel parecia novo e estava tudo impecável. Porém dessa vez não foi o mesmo,acho que nesse tempo esqueceram de cuidar do hotel e estava bem caído. eu fiquei no quarto 708, o ar condicionado pingava muito, fazia uma poça dentro do quarto, limpeza muito fraca, tinha dia que nem parecia que tinha sido feita a limpeza no chão e móveis do quarto.
Usei uns talheres e copos que estavam disponíveis no quarto, os deixei na pia acreditando que no outro dia, na arrumação os mesmos seriam limpos, pois eles ficaram sujos ate o dia que fui embora.
lençóis e toalhas rasgados e manchados, teto com mofo e descascando.
Ainda bem que só usei passava a noite lá pra dormir e como estava muito cansada do dia inteiro de atividades, não tive nem disposição para reclamar, mas realmente bem decepcionante para um lugar no qual já havia tido uma experiencia tão agradável.

la hab 707 tiene humedad en el techo, la pileta el agua fría no hay ducha para entrar al agua., las maderas de piso están sueltas, y el piso le falta las vereditas desayuno pobre pobre pobre. facturas.., EL TECHO TIENE UN AGUJERO DE VARIOS MESES.EN LA PARTE DEL DESAYUNO,.lo mejor el personal--.

Ya estuve alojada anteriormente , lo elijo por la ubicación, solo me llamo la atención de que ya habían abonado mi estadía y ellos me cobraron el IVA la empresa donde trabajjo paga los hoteles , se supone que al pasajero no se le cobra nada , desde cuando cambio ,?? Entonces debería amos pagar todo en el hotel directamente !!!

Muy cómodo en general. Excelente atención, el desayuno bien, es silencioso y tranquilo.
Deberían esmerarse con el aseo, desafectar la ropa de cama manchada y limpiar debajo de las camas ya que encontré cosas de otros huéspedes
