A real gem of a hotel

This hotel was a great place to stay for one week. It is very close to the beach, and restaurants. We had a side view of the ocean. The staff was very welcoming and the breakfast was excellent. The staff brought hot dishes to try right to your table as well the buffet was varied and delicious.

First time visiting the area and the hotel and staff are amazing. Nothing was too much bother. No problem getting a sunbed at any time of day.
Breakfast was an absolute delight. Cava and freshly made churros.....heaven!
The hotel is big enough to have decent facilities but small enough that youre not just a number .the personal touch very much in evidence

Right from the start I had a very warm welcome from Carmen. Arriving early I knew my room was not going to be ready for a few hours but after 15 minutes it was ready.
The room was recently refurbished by the looks of it to a high standard.
The pool was small but perfect. Plenty of Sun loungers and an excellent snack and drinks bar opened till late.
Breakfast was fantastic. 10/10.
Overall a perfect stay. I will return next year. Thank you to Carmen. A true credit to the hotel.

We had a lovely weeks holiday at the Princess Solar. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The pool area was nt too big but it had a swimming pool and three jacuzzi pool towels provided the area was kept very clean. The rooms were very spacous cleaned daily and fresh towels provided if needed. If you like to spend time on the balcony room 200 would not be suirabke as it faces a wall we did nt complain as we were rarely in the room. Plenty of choice of food for breakfast and there is a pool bar that sells drinks and food.

The only problem was that the shower head was inadequate for the bathroom which let the toilet/bathroom down. I also think it should have had a bath mat for the bath as very slippery as it gets wet. Overall a very good stay.

Lovely stay at this well located hotel

Lovely little hotel, almost boutique style, in a great location near to the beach. Really comfy huge bed, nice bathroom and balcony overlooking the pool. Our room had a fridge, kettle and good air conditioning. TV small for the size of the room but that’s my only slight criticism! Pool area clean and tidy with comfortable sun loungers and towels available. Nice little pool bar offering a good selection of drinks and food.

Hotel clean, staff lovely, food good, beds too soft, that's a personal thing, Only downside, booked a romantic package as a surprise for my wife, upon checking in they asked for payment, and the wife asked what for they told her, When we mentioned it to reception they just shrugged there shoulders and said new member of staff, he didn't realise no real apologie given spoilt the surprise.

The hotel was just lovely. Plush towels. Comfy beds. Spacious room with roomy balcony. Air on east to use and effective. Fridge. Safe. I asked for a kettle which was provided FOC. There was a handy little clothes rail on the balcony for drying bits and bobs. Karim greeted us on arrival at midnight. He was very welcoming and helpful. The gum is good. There are three jacuzzis in the pool area. The beds are comfy and there are plenty of parasols and little tables. The food/bar prices are reasonable. People have said the location is grim but it’s not really. 5 minutes walk to La Carihuela beach which is very nice. You go past two local traditional Spanish restaurants: Bar Andalussi and La Aldea, both family run and reasonably priced. My sister and I spent five nights at Princesa Solar and really enjoyed it.

Room was lovely and clean, view was nice of the pool and sea in the distance. Was very quiet and slept well! Check in and out was easy, they let you store your luggage when you leave so this was helpful if you have a later flight. Could not fault the breakfast, it’s everything you need for a decent meal. Staff were lovely and accommodating. The pool was nice and the 3 hot tubs were an added bonus. We will definitely recommend to friends and will return! Thank you!

Rude bar staff member ruins an adequate stay

The hotel interior is modern and majority is well kept. Hallways are a bit dark and carpet is worn in parts.

Pool area is noce however do not go bare foot the astro turf and slabs are like lava in the heat.

Reception staff are friendly and nothing is to much of an issue.

The only issues we came across and its issues that would stop me returning.
The first issue is staff member whos name i believe is milena is rude and abrupt an unfriendly individual.
Second issue no outside food. We were self catering and this rule was enforced strictly making it impossible to even enjoy basic things like water by the pool without paying their inflated price.

Thirdly food is of poor quality and takes forever to be made. This is for the snack menu by the pool. We had 2 pizzas and both were very sickly and tasted awful, this was after an hours wait as well.
I seen another person complain that their roast chicken was disgusting and had it sent back.

Overall nicer places to stay with friendlier staff.

Ej fyrtstjärningt hotell med katastrofal städning

Hotellet är verkligen inte värt sina fyra stjärnor. Vi valde att bo i en av de så kallade juniorsviterna. Rummet i sig var OK, men inte mer än så. Stenhård säng och fruktansvärt obekväma kuddar. En AC som stängdes av av sig självt titt som tätt under hela natten. Det är också väldigt lyhört på rummet och på kvällarna/nätterna kändes det som att puben nere på gatan låg i hörnet av rummet.

Det absolut sämsta med hela vår vistelse var dock städningen, som var under all kritik. Lakanen byttes enbart då vi efter cirka 7 dagar sa till om detta. Duschtvål och toapapper fylldes inte heller på ordentligt. Golven och ytorna städades aldrig och fötterna var svarta efter att ha tassat omkring på rummet.

Kommer inte rekommendera detta boende till någon och skulle inte välja att bo här igen.

Booked this hotel for a short 3 night break for my husband and i. Neither of us had ever been to Torremolinos and we were not disappointed. This is a fab hotel. The staff could not be more helpful and accommodating. The hotel is clean and the pool area is spotless and well maintained. Sun loungers have soft mattresses which were amazing. We only ate lunch at hotel pizza mostly and it was lovely. The bedroom's were spotless and changed every day. Also the shower just Wow!!! A small mini fridge which was handy for water etc. Every wee detail has been thought of here and we absolutely cannot wait to return. Thanks for making our holday so enjoyable.

Lovely hotel. Definitely 4 stars. Cannot fault much at all. Beautiful rooms, great air con, very comfortable. Maybe be nicer if they had a proper restaurant in the evenings (not used/closed) rather than just a bar/pool menu outside, and air con in breakfast room would have been nice. Very nice breakfast choice though. Best buffet breakfast I've ever had. A little away from the front but just a 5min walk. Area around the hotel very run down. Lovey pool area. Very clean. Watched them fully clean the spas every morning. Would reccomend to my friends.

The hotel was well placed to access the beach and the relaxing and buzzing premonade. Staff were incredibly helpful and service was really good-particularly Irene at the front desk.
The only gripe was that although the room had a kettle, there was no tea/coffee provided. This was easily resolved as the shop just opposite the hotel sells traveller quantities at low cost.
Would revisit and stay at the hotel for my next visit!

The poolside was well maintained and offered everything you needed. The Beds were comfortable and the bar was very reasonably priced.

The rooms were cleaned every day basic but offered what you needed. The only down side is that the sheets on the bed were too small for the bed so always ended up being untucked which is just a personal pet hate. There is noise from the road outside this was fine for me but husband is s light sleeper.

Overall this hotel is very good and I would stay again the staff at the reception were very helpful and really polite.

The bar had limited drinks and could have cava for breakfast but couldn't buy it at any other time. They did not have blackcurrent juice. The evening meal in the restaurant was not very big portions and the ribs were fatty. I did update the staff for their own observations and future purchases.
Staff really friendly and as helpful as could be considering some staff members did not speak English.

The part of the waiters were serious and not so polite. They seemed to be tired of their work.The CLEANERS were friendly and polite and they did their work well even though their work is hard.The NIGHT PORTER was also friendly and helpful, he wasn´t tired of his work. There should be more sunbeds and especially sun umbrellas on the pool area. There should be STRICT instructions to go in the shower before going to the pool because just a few did this to me aside.

3 day break near the sea front.

Average hotel in quiet area

The hotel itself is ok but there aren’t many staff so the bar is always not occupied which means you have to ring a bell and then wait. This isn’t the staffs fault as they are busy elsewhere, it is because the hotel doesn’t employ enough staff. The staff are helpful though. The pool area is really nice and has loads of stuff going on for adults and kids e.g. swimming, snooker, ping pong, jacuzzi, bingo and more. The food is not nice. The beds are really hard and aren’t comfortable. The area isn’t great but only 5 mins walk to beach, 20 mins walk to torremilinos and 40 mins walk to Benalmádena. I probably wouldn’t stay again due to location but would if it was in a better area.

Stayed here with my daughter age 15. Friendly and welcoming staff, always ready to help you with a smile. Our sea view wasn't what I expected, you had to lean over the balcony and look left to see the sea between the buildings and our room faced a brick wall but it didn't bother us too much and at least it was private. The only downside I have to our room was that our pillows were quite hard but maybe that's just a personal preference.
The breakfast was plentiful. Though the fresh bread was a little dry and needed toasting. The juice was nice and thick not watered down like Iv had in the past and there was something for everyone. I even had a glass of bubbly for breakfast too.
The pool area and bar was lovely.. and the staff worked hard to make it a comfortable place to chill for a drink or snack, very reasonably priced and good food. It wasn't that large but we never had a problem finding a sun bed which had thick padded cushions covering them and the hot tubs were a treat. And I enjoyed the aqua aerobics in the mornings.
I would definitely stay here again. But possibly not when schools are on their summer break. I think It suits an older child/teenager/adult age range.
Overall it was a fabulous break.

Decent choice in the area.

The staff at pretty much all the hotels we visited in Spain was great. This hotel was no different. It's dated, fitness center is nice, rooftop pool area is cool (didn't use it because of weather), elevators tiny and parking was expensive if you use the garage nearby. My only legit complaint is the noise at the hotel. Housekeeping starts cleaning about 6:30 a.m., and they make some serious noise you can hear everywhere. If that bothers you keep it in mind, if not this is a convenient choice. Affordable too.

Not a real 4*Star hotel at all!

Took ages to find it as the address does not work with most GPS systems.
No street parking at all. Expensive hotel parking.
Then, the hotel is not 4*star by any stretch of the imagination.

Worst of all, the wifi did not work at all in my room or any other except in the lobby.
I brought it to the attention of the night staff (Oscar) who said all I can do is work in the lobby, all night.
He promised to speak to his boss in the morning when she comes in.
In the morning she said nothing..... She said there is nothing she can do about anything.
No discount, no reduction.
I explained that I could not check in online for my flight, I couldn't any work done, I couldn't book my next days' hotel, but she just shrugged.

This is not the way to treat guests.
They just didn't care.
It looks and feels like a 2* hotel.
DO NOT Believe the pics. They have been very artistically taken and they are far far from reality.

We arrived at the hotel and we were checked in all nice and smooth ,the receptionist was very good and explained everything in full .The hotel Princesa Solar was a very good hotel in our view very clean staff were all pleasant and courteous rooms were spotless and beds fresh and comfortable room 708 was high up good lifts and what a view

Think Before You Book this hotel!

If internet connection; breakfast; location and room comfort are an issue for you then think before you book this hotel.

Internet connection throughout the building was very poor. Our room was on the 8th floor and connection was non-existent. When we complained to the hotel staff about the internet connection, they said they will 'look into it' but nothing was done. The connection was equally poor on other floors of the building (whether, 7, 6 5 etc). Where we managed to get the internet connection (near the pool) the connection was limited- it worked but then cut off- this kept happening. Mixture of phones were used (Samsung, iphone, LG but where hotel provides poor connection then it does not matter which handset you use).

The room balcony doors do not lock! I informed the reception staff that it is very easy for us to jump over and get into the neighbouring rooms and help ourselves to their belongings. The reception staff stated that throughout the hotel in the rooms, the door to the balcony do not lock due to health and safety as the doors are defective! Consequently, we had to take our wallets; passports etc with us throughout the trip rather than leaving it in the room.

A triple room was booked- The third bed in the room was more like a makeshift bed. I had to get mattress changed 2 times!

Breakfast- Oily eggs; Juices seemed to have been mixed too much with water; pure milk not used rather processed milk which had a funny taste. I can can carry on...

Good night spent here. Although on busy road it was very quiet.
Lovely dinner and breakfast.good quality food.well done chef !!!!
Parking to expensive at local car park we were lucky to find a spot near.

The hotel is very clean and the staff helpful. Drink prices are good but the pool area is small, as is the pool itself, which could be a problem if lots of children are booked in.
Very good value for money though.
The only issue I would have is the street it's on is very run down and most of the surrounding shops and businesses are shut down.

Great, friendly and helpful staff

This hotel is an absolutely superb location only being 5 minutes walk from the beach and a 5 minute taxi ride to the town centre. The beds are extremely comfortable and as we stayed on the 8th floor, there was no sound disturbance at all. The staff couldn't do enough for you and were very friendly. We didn't eat at the hotel but it was very clean and the maid service was very well co-ordinated. Very good value for money and would stay again without hesitation. I would be very interested to learn whether or not they had good sized family rooms that would sleep 2 adults and 2 teenagers?

Quiet time at the resort last 2 weeks in May.

We stayed in the hotel 9 nights. The whole resort was very quiet and this was reflected at the hotel.The restaurant was closed except for breakfast and the bar was only open for short periods in the afternoon. On the whole it was fine. There is a great gym but it opened at 11am. By that time most folk are going out for the day. There is a bus stop right outside for several different routes including direct to the airport, Malaga and the local resorts.The reception staff were pleasant and helpful. However on the down side I should have checked my bill before leaving as I was charged for some minibar items I didn't use. I'll be more vigilant next time. Also while the reception area is fine the tunnel like entrance is gloomy and unwelcoming. It's not at all like most hotels.

Nærhet til stranden, fine rom

Fine rom med bra balkong, veldig nærme stranden. Bra bassengområdet, men jeg skulle ønske hotellet hadde en policy om at det ikke er tillatt å holde av solsenger med håndklær.. litt dårlig utvalg i basseng-baren, da de ofte ikke hadde det som sto på smoothie-menyen.
