The staff are the making of this hotel - excellent - only problem we encountered was ordering for evening meal as we sat at our table for 45 minutes before we were told that we had to order at the bar - would suggest a notation on the menu would resolve this.
All in all, a very enjoyable stay.

We recently stayed here and overall had a fantastic experience.

The room was newly refurbished with modern furniture, a large TV, and all the amenities you could need for a comfortable stay. The views over Lake Windermere were absolutely stunning and made the trip feel extra special. The food was excellent throughout our stay, with a particularly great breakfast offering plenty of choice and quality ingredients.

The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. We also made good use of the spa facilities, which were excellent, very clean, and well maintained.

There were a few downsides. Due to refurbishment works, guests had to walk through the restaurant in bathrobes to access the spa, which felt a little awkward. The fire alarm also went off at around 11:30pm, causing some disruption. We found the mattress quite firm and not particularly comfortable for our liking. Parking was also challenging, with limited spaces available considering the number of guests, and only one disabled parking space.

Despite these issues, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider returning, especially for the beautiful location, excellent food, and superb spa facilities.

Our room was at the top of the building up several flights of stairs. No lifts. We were assisted on arrival with luggage.
The location was great and plenty of parking at the rear if no space at the front.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel.com website was misleading as it didn't mention that there was building work ongoing and the out door pool closed. The scaffolding and other buildings equipment/materials spoiled the otherwise beautiful views of the lake.
The breakfast was very nice with a decent choice.
The room was clean and the bed comfortable. However the floor tiles in the bathroom around the toilet were not fitted correctly big gaps very shabby.
Once the building works are completed and the new infinity pool opens it would be worth the price we paid. Someone needs to finish the bathroom tiling it looks bad and can't be hygienic.

Stays there with my girlfriend for my first year anniversary, that staff were absolutely amazing super happy to help with anything we inquired, the room and bathroom were spotless and towels and robe were fresh, the breakfast was amazing and bar had loads of variety of drinks and cocktails

We loved our stay at the hotel, the room was amazing and the views that came with the room were too. All the staff were really lovely but the lady in reception who dealt with us was especially helpful to us. The breakfast was really nice too. All in all a really nice night away and would recommend.

The location is the big selling point; views over the lake are exceptional. The menu has a good choice, but doesn't vary from day-to-day. That could become an issue for a longer stay, but if it looks good on the menu, it will be good when it's served. The location sold it, but the staff made the trip exceptional. They really made us feel like ensuring we enjoyed our stay was their personal mission.

There is a fitness note; I'm admittedly out of shape, and retirement age, but I found the stairs to be almost too much at times. The climb from our suite to the bar/restaurant left me out of breath for a couple of minutes.

This hotel is in a refurbishment stage and work is on going but the hotel have worked hard to minimise the impact on residents. Work is evident around the new infinity pool and spa area and in some of the rooms as they work through the hotel. Part of the car park was clearly used by the builders but it did not have any impact our stay. The food was excellent and sitting out on the terrace enabled conversations with other guests with enviable views of the lake and even the spectacle of low flying military aircraft across the lake. Truly memorable and enjoyable. We tried the spa with indoor jacuzzis, steam room, sauna and pool with loungers. Robes, slippers and towels provided in your room due to part of the spa area being under construction. Again it was lovely. We found all staff to be very friendly and accommodating and we had a lovely time in an excellent location.
Our room had been refurbished and had a lovely modern tiled shower room with heated towel rail, large tv, big bed and had all the extras like iron and ironing board, hairdryer, tea/coffee facilities, biscuits and mini chocolate mint cakes, fitted wardrobe, desk with chair, balcony with bistro table and chairs and lake views. Note our balcony was fully useable but not completely finished with the paint work on the railings needing a little refresh.
Great If you can cope with a little disruption for great views and location or wait and it will be a fantastic hotel when finished and we certainly hope to return.

Asked for a ground floor room when i noticed no lifts as my wife has trouble with stairs now. Was given a beautiful ground floor room on same level as bar/restaurant. The room had a massive picture window with unbeatable view of lake. Same view from bar/restaurant which also has outside deck area. The pool area was great but had to tackle several flights of stairs. Breakfast good and had evening meals twice in the restaurant also good. Friendly/helpful staff.

The hotel is lovely. We arrived to find we had been upgraded from the snug to a double bedroom with a view which was lovely. But disappointed not to have a bath even after an upgrade though. There are a lot of stairs to get anywhere, which was fine but worth noting. There is access to the lake outside via a path and some stairs which is lovely.

The spa was great but as they are doing some work on it the outside bit wasn't available. This was fine as we were alerted to this, but there were also no changing facilities which we were not made aware of until we arrived. This meant walking through the hotel in the very snug dressing gown and slippers they provided, which was not ideal. It also meant that you could not access the spa after checking out as there was nowhere.to change, which wss a shame.

All the staff were brilliant and the restaurant/bar/lounge area was great. We were not overly impressed with the food though. I didn't want much for tea and fancied the goats cheese balls off the small bites menu, but they had run out. So I ordered fish goujons and was presented with a pile of fish fingers - not very gourmet and definitely over priced! At breakfast we were asked for our cooked order before we had sat down and it arrived before we had chance to make the toast. We both had poached eggs which were a little undercooked, which was a shame. The continental selection was good though.
Overall, a nice stay and we would return but would probably not have our tea there.

Reception staff were very helpful, with requests for a fridge,a more comfortable chair for my husband, and sorting out tv. Breakfast was really nice.
It was a shame weather could have been better, but did not stop us from going places.

Food was excellent having eaten evening meal and breakfast with all cooked fresh to order.

An almost satisfactory stay in what could be a fabulous hotel. Of note: Staff were very helpful and friendly.
The interior of the hotel is nice enough. I stayed in a recently refurbished room which was clean and fresh. There are little bits that make it seem that corners have been cut though - no safe in the room and no do not disturb sign or similar to let housekeeping know you're sleeping. Some of the finishes look a little rushed - perhaps there's still snagging to do. Same goes for the spa area - nice but just lacks a certain something. On my last morning, there was chewing gum and hairbands on the side of one of the hot tubs first thing upon opening so clearly no cleaning done before opening.
As you walk around the hotel there are little glimpses to patio areas that are overgrown with weeds, some of the windows are dirty, even the sign at the front of the hotel could do with a good scrub - all easy fixes but these bits just make the place look shabby.
The construction work could be a bit more considerate too - starts at 8am. I'd asked for a quiet room as I needed to sleep in on my first day but I was awoken early by building work (which I had been pre warned about but I'd also been told I'd have a quiet room).
This hotel has huge potential and hopefully they will get their act together once the building work and a bit of general maintenance is complete.
Of course, what really sells this place is the amazing view over the lake - simply stunning.

The only downside was that the Spa was being renovated, I would definitely use this hotel again.

It was simply a perfect 10 on every account. It was an amazing stay in a splendid hotel.
The staff from the reception to the maintenance staff were so friendly and welcoming.
The young lady supervising the spa area was marvellous and so accommodating.
The room with a view of the lakes was very pleasant and inviting. Very comfortable in every aspect. The amenities were great for spending quality time in the swimming pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi. Never overcrowded. Pleasing atmosphere. The bar was well maintained and stocked with various alcoholic and soft beverages.
The carte menu was great and enough entries to satisfy one’s tastes. The food which we ordered was cooked to our taste and liking and delicious too.
All the staff were so friendly and polite which made our short stay so enjoyable.
Thanks to you all for a perfect stay.

We stayed for two nights after booking what was advertised as a four‑star relaxing luxury spa hotel with spectacular views. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of those expectations.
On arrival, the hotel was clearly under renovation, with builders present and brick dust throughout parts of the property. The hotel is also located directly on a very busy main road, which significantly impacts the sense of peace and relaxation. While the reception and restaurant areas appear to have been recently refreshed, the remainder of the hotel feels tired and run down.
We paid extra for a suite advertised with lake views; however, these views are only visible if standing up. When seated, the view is completely blocked by the wooden balcony. The balcony furniture was broken and unusable, and there were cobwebs above the bed that gave the room a neglected feel. The bathroom was extremely small, to the point that toiletries had to be stored in the bedroom, and there were visible holes and marks on the walls. Noise was another issue, with very thin walls and constant traffic noise from the road.
The outdoor areas were unusable due to overgrown weeds and stored building materials, and there was no dock as shown in the hotel photos. The outdoor spa was closed due to the building works, and although indoor spa facilities were offered instead, guests had to walk through the hotel in swimwear as the changing rooms were also closed. A tale of two halves…. Beech Hill & Spa Windermere

Terrace and views = outstanding.
Walk down to sit by the lake = very nice indeed.
Deco and furnishings = very nice.
Parking = free - nice - can become overcrowded very quickly.
Staff = nice, they try hard.
Spa = indoors is nice if a little small. Outdoors not available due to refurb. They try to blame you Expedia for not telling me.
Refurbishing/upgrade = not an expert, but it’s looking like will not be ready for the summer season (shame).
Food = the chef(s) tries hard but management greed means that he/they are unjustifiably under pressure to explain the menu price tag. Breakfast good and reasonably priced.
Room = tasteful (thanks for the upgrade) with great views, but let down by dirt on walls and mouldy curtains - no controlled temperature heating is either on or off.
Bathroom = basic and mouldy, does the job but not a place to spend time in.
Water pressure = excellent.
In-room tea/coffee = nice
750ml bottle of water = £5.95 unacceptable (and I live in London) then £0.98 for lime & soda. I’m sure there is a balance somewhere.

You have clear aspirations to become a 5 star hotel and you probably will once the refurbishment is finished. In the meantime you are neither here nor there.

On balance, I will/would return, but will wait until the new rooms, outdoor pool and jacuzzi are ready. If the premium is justified, then I’m sure the experience has the potential to be phenomenal.

Your other hotels treated me better.

Hotel has recently been upgraded and some work is still ongoing, some more work in the garden by the lake is required.
There is a lovely pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room which we luckily had complementary access to due to the ongoing works.
Be aware that there is normally a charge of £20 per person/ per day
Breakfast staff were a little rude and are too busy to clean plates from your table. Freshly cooked breakfast and a choice of cereal, fruit, cakes and toast

I’ve just returned from a night at the hotel. I stayed in a junior suite. I had to speak to the cleaner to give us some toiletries, as he’d forgotten to put them in. The room wasn’t the cleanest either. Very dirty windows amongst other things. The room was spacious. However, the bathroom was very small and dated. I had a horrid sleep. Despite the bed being a cracking size. The mattress was awful. I woke up in the morning with a really sore back. The mattress was ultra soft and overused. I pretty much slept in a ‘V’ position all night Despite the lovely view, you couldn’t see it from the sofa in the room. Even though the sofa was in front of the window. The poor design meant you looked at a thick wooden balcony post. The spa was visually nice. The hot tub was more like a luke warm tub. The pool was freezing. Breakfast was soso. I would describe the English break ingredients as cheap and the continental breakfast as limited and cheap. I wouldn’t stay again or recommend this hotel.

Definitely dangerous for anyone with poor mobility or elderly - over 60 steps from first floor bedroom to pool and spa ! Wife tripped going down garden to lake as railings removed at moment - should be completely boarded off until construction finished . Poor contractors tipping waste into woods opposite front door across road .

This was a complete let down. The bathroom had no fan so the condensation was running down walls and pooling on floor. The WiFi just did not work entire stay. The renovations are intense but the thing that tipped over edge was lack of parking and no pre warning of this. Ended up nearly getting wiped on busy road whilst trying to establish with hotel where to go (there is a paid for car park further down road, which they will refund). We were there to celebrate our honeymoon and my husbands birthday and I was in less than a celebratory mood by end of short break. Have stayed at other hotels in area which are far less stressful and chaotic

We enjoyed our one night stay for my husbands birthday. We had a really enjoyable time in the spa and my husband would fully recommend the hot stone back massage by Meg. Our evening meals were beautiful and we enjoyed breakfast too. Bar staff, spa staff and reception staff were lovely and friendly and helpful.

If we were to stay again though we would choose a different room.

Really lovely hotel! We stayed for two nights over the Easter weekend and enjoyed the delicious cocktails and dinners, delightful spa facilities and comfortable room with a huge bed and stunning lake views. The hotel exterior was being refurbished when we were there & we are looking forward to visiting the new spa when it is up and running. Special thanks to the bar staff who were indefatigable, mixing cocktails in the evening and then back for the breakfast shift! A wonderful stay and we will return.

Room was clean and refurbished but let down by the bathroom
The toilet was badly located and toiletries insufficient ( particularly as there was nowhere to shower in spa) due to no changing rooms being available
Parts of the hotel have been refurbished and are lovely although often just superficial but the other parts are very tired and and unloved.
Spa - the areas which were available were very good and clean but again doors were lacking in cleanliness and if you look closer corners are missed and left unclean
Breakfast - was ok choice was fair but coffee was extremely poor.
All staff who we interacted with were very pleasant and friendly - particularly Michelle on reception and the lady in spa at 4.30
Overall wonderful location - mainly clean and friendly staff
I appreciate there is a lot of refurbishment happening with the spa and infinity pool - but it does appear that other areas are in decline.

Had a very nice stay, complimentary late check out (do ask) was great as clocks went forward. Spa was great and not too busy, they are undergoing renovation and made this very clear. View of the lake which was excellent and staff were friendly and laid back. Did not eat here so can’t comment on that.
