I took part in \"The Lap\" 47 mile ultramarathon on the Saturday and was booked to stay Friday through to checkout on Sunday.
I actually finished work early and asked if i could add a day on. The hosts were very accommodating and so i stayed an extra night.
When i got there, the staff were very welcoming, the bar was fully stocked with lots of drinks and crisps too.
The room was very comfortable, great bathroom and very comfy bed.
The service was excellent. The room was made everyday and restocked. Fantastic!!
Evening Meal was gorgeous. Very high quality food and a good selection.
Breakfast was impossible for me as i had to leave at 5am for the race so the hosts made me a breakfast bag, which i thought was very kind of them.

My brother and I had an excellent stay at the Cuckoo Brow Inn. The Cuckoo Brow Inn is the ideal quaint B&B in the Lake District for a very reasonable rate. The staff were very friendly, the restaurant served up delicious traditional Cumbrian fare for breakfast and dinner, and the room was comfortable and updated (appreciated the clawfoot tub). Couldn't have asked for more.

We stayed for two night. I was told breakfast was included & then told it wasn't on check out & I had to pay £90! First day breakfast was good but next day it was terrible. Also I paid advance for my stay & asked to pay again on check!! I showed my payment on PayPal & it was resolved by contacting Hotels.com about my payment. This second time we stayed at this place & probably the last time because of this experience!!

The food is next level. The area is beautiful with lots of great rides and walks. The room was cosey, little bit of a draft but that’s likely because changing anything in the Lakes requires a lot of permissions, so the Inn had a lot of original features etc.

A really pleasant hotel to stay, all the staff were very friendly and also very helpful. The food and ale were very good, especially the breakfast, although slightly different due to Covid. All precautions taken by the staff and we felt very safe.

Upon arrival there was no one to attend at reception. After waiting for about 15 mins we stepped out and asked the lady behind the bar and she gave us the key to our room and showed us where to go. The room was clean, neat and tidy, can’t really fault it we had free breakfast with our booking. The following morning upon arriving at the restaurant the order was placed promptly but the service was extremely slow. With a 1 and a 3 year old this was difficult as they were hungry and were getting tired of waiting. We had ordered a Belgian waffle, which was overcooked and as my son was eating it, after 2-3 bites it became rock hard and was inedible. We ordered water and juice and after waiting for it for at least 15 mins we reminded the waitress (In a polite way) that we had ordered drinks and she became a bit rude saying that there were other customers to tend to and that she “knew” we had ordered them and would bring them out. They arrived about 10 mins later. We ordered another waffle too and again had to wait around 30 mins for it, it finally arrived when we had given up and were getting up to leave as we had to pack and check out by 11am, it was 10:05am by this time (breakfast was supposed to be between 8-10am). This other waitress who brought out the waffle was nicer and at least apologetic for the long wait. When checking out the same rude lady who had served us at breakfast was at reception and she said to us we had to pay for breakfast. The manager came and sorted it.

Great location, lovely traditional building. We visited during the Coronavirus summer of 2020 and the staff were working extremely hard to keep everything clean and keep everyone safe. And they always had time for a smile despite all the extra work! Lots of nice walks right on the doorstep and the ferry to Bowness is just a short walk away. Definitely recommend!

We spent an impromptu night here after a walk in Hawkshead. Although we didn’t have ours with us, it’s a dog friendly inn so good if you want to bring yours. Meals were good and reasonably priced. The seating downstairs in the old stable was interesting as well.

Jeanette Rees, the manager, was a star making every one comfortable and understood our dilemma when we had to leave early. Plenty of good wholesome food and a large comfortable bed makes for a good active holiday. And it did not rain!

My only quibble was the “butter” which is a minor thing but if I had taken a pack of real butter with me it would have made all the difference everything else perfect.

Fabulous 4 night stay in this hotel. Food was exquisite. Staff were accommodating and very friendly. The room was more than adequate and very clean. Dogs are allowed and so almost every guest had them. Not a problem for us, although keeping the hotel clean proved challenging for the staff.

Stayed at this Inn for a couple of nights with a friend to do some walking and get some fresh air, we were greeted by one of the area managers (Jeanette) who was very help from the off. The room although a little small for 2 people sharing as a twin was clean and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, food was good too, The area was quiet but within easy access to Bowness via the ferry about 1.5 miles away (nice walk) and other places of interest such as Greizedale and Hawkshead . I would recommend this to friends who wish to do the same.
