We used it for 1 night only. Great breakfast , great location. Rooms are tired and need modernising. Shower over the bath is very old fashioned. Huge balcony, not permitted to smoke , i know thats a personal issue but we dont have this at other properties the the area , and you could smoke on the terrace but the outdoor bar. No smoking around the pool either. We prefer to self cater rather than being bound to a hotel.

A great location for the airport bus, the Yumbo and restaurants. The facilities such as the pool and bar were excellent and the breakfast was good, with an excellent and extensive selection.

There was quite a long walk to the bedroom, with a half flight of stairs, ,which is not ideal when carrying luggage.

The room we asked to stay in was perfect - we were very happy the excellent hotel staff could arrange this for us. The cleanliness of the hotel is great and the cleaning staff are friendly. The breakfast is always excellent and the waiting staff are super efficient and also very kind and welcoming. The only thing to improve is the coffee - the coffee machine settings aren’t set well so the coffee is too watery. I preferred the coffee jugs… Jose Carlos the pool boy is always very friendly and helpful. The hotel location is also great. Looking forward to coming back again soon.

Room was in ok condition. Bath tub looked like it could have been changed a few years ago. No light on the balcony Gym was good with new equipment and aircon. Breakfast was the highlight of this hotel with a huge amount of fruit and hot food choice. The outdoor seating area was nice as well.

Well located with excellent staff. Half the hotel is accessible and refurbished. The other half is a long walk through many corridors and stairs leading to room with holes in bath filled with poly-fillet, fans hanging from ceiling.
On the bright side the beds are amazingly comfy and house keeping are very flexible in timing.

Often stay here when visiting Gran Canaria. Great location and hotel offers complimentary breakfast which is actually very good. The pool area is fantastic l but the hotel doesn’t seem to police the non hotel guests from using it, I actually got talking to a couple who even told me they weren’t staying there just liked the pool area, sometimes hard to find a lounger for that reason. The staff are always friendly and fun - looks like they enjoy working there. The rooms have had a small refresh in the past few years but still looking quite tired around the place. Some facade is cracking badly and the bathrooms are very average. I enjoyed the hotel bar/cafe but only complaint I would have is that quite often when you have finished dining and want to pay it’s really hard to get the staff‘s attention and you’re often sitting there for ages it’s quite frustrating. Even when i approached the bar/till area I was directed back to my table and they would come to me, but the staff just stood there waiting for orders to deliver when I think best use of time would be to complete the bill of diners finished then run an order when it’s done?

Good, but ling walk to rooms!

Hotel is very dated, the rooms are nice and beds very comfortable, I slept well. The air con had a mind of its own and bathroom hairdryer did not work. This hotel is a maze and not suitable for people with mobility issues. Major let down for this hotel is the distance from reception to the rooms which is a maze with lots of stair cases - if they knocked down a few hedges and made pathway from reception to the the first external facing rooms then it would be a grewt hotel. Food and service was very good.

Second Time Is A Charm

This is the second time I’ve stayed at the Don Miguel. I went back because of the staff and the location. Had a lovely large, clean room with a nicely sized balcony that had a view of the main road but it wasn’t noisy and was nice to sit on and relax. Breakfast was always nice and tasty with something for everyone.

Great hotel with lots of amenities and evening entertainment. Very close to the Yumbo Centre and transport links. Staff were super friendly and nice too. Breakfast was a large buffet of hot and cold options and drinks too. Love that they have shower facilites in reception if you have a flight in the evening. I sunbathed all day and got refreshed and showered which is the first time ive seen a hotel do this. Only downfall is the walk from reception to my room was long. The hotel is a maze. But other than that i would 100% recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

This was my third visit to the hotel and very happy to be back. The hotel is well situated close to the main Yumbo centre and a short walk to the bus stop and taxis’ are also available just outside the hotel. Only short coming was the evening entertainment which most nights (other then two) was a DJ playing a mix of songs the could just have been on shuffle from a steaming device.

Good hotel. All the staff are nice, always smile and polite. The room was a good size, some minor details on the bathroom that need to be repaired, but not a big deal. The only problem for me was the street which was really busy even night time and I couldn't sleep good because of the passing cars, rubbish trucks or some late party people shouting. Great pool area and terrace with good quality live entertainment in the evenings. Great place central to the Yumbo and just a short walk to bus stops to get to the beach or anywhere else on the island.

We were booked for one night only and as part of a reward night , they choose to put us in a room the farthest away from reception on the ground floor . To get to it we had to go down 3 lots of stairs ! Room was dark dated and not nice to be in . Thankfully only one night !
We had heard good reviews and putting us in the room they did which was not a superior which was booked has put me off ever staying again .

Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel was very well maintained. The room was spacious but could have done with a soft armchair - only 2 firm, upright chairs were available. The bathroom was a weird shape and needed a bit of manoeuvring to get around the door to the toilet! There is air conditioning but appeared to be no heating options, which could be an issue in the winter.

The bed was quite hard, but they fitted a mattress topper on request, which was a significant improvement. Housekeeping was excellent, with daily service.

The buffet breakfast was an amazing choice, with continental and cooked options, free flowing coffee from good quality machines, and even glasses of Cava some mornings! A choice of juices but only quite watery mixes. Staff constantly top up the food options and clear tables.

Hotel is very close to the Yumbo shopping centre and plenty of restaurants. Plenty of poolside loungers and tables and chairs on a terrace with a bar that served a limited range of hot and cold snacks.

Received a message from the hotel offering an airport transfer. I emailed accepting, but asked if I could put it on the room. They emailed back to send flight details - then confirmed that someone would be onsite with a sign at the airport.

Nobody showed up so took a taxi instead - paid with my card. On arrival to hotel I was told I needed to pay the original driver who ended up showing up late to the airport. Not only that, but I needed to go get cash and pay the driver directly. FOR A DRIVER THAT NEVER SHOWED UP. The check-in lady started to yell at me that it's wrong that I took the taxi instead of waiting. I told her that I was not told OR emailed: I was to pay in cash/I was to wait/I was not able to put it on the room. So I was under no commitment to pay MORE money to a taxi driver who was late CASH that I did not have, for a ride that I did not take.

The lady took my phone to look at my emails as proof, then wouldn't give my phone back until I yelled back at her to give me my phone. I don't know WHY she was so hell bent on us paying this taxi driver who didn't even work for the hotel - it was a completely separate company.

This put a damper on the entire stay. The breakfast staff yelled at us when we walked in early just for a hot cup of water to make tea from tea bags I brought myself.

Amongst loads of other small cleanliness issues, the pool was fantastic.

Solo Stay At Servatur Don Miguel

The Don Miguel hotel is HUGE! It's a large, sprawling hotel that needs a bit of renovation, but is in a great location, with the entrance being on the corner of a main road. It is very close to the Yumbo Centre and all the fun that entails, as well as being opposite a small if expensive supermarket.

The staff here are amazing! Everyone greeted you with a smile and that made a huge difference to me. The receptionist even called my transfer company for me and made sure that my airport pick-up was confirmed. The housekeeping staff are also lovely.

The rooms are a bit tired, but I got a great night sleep in the bed I had. There was plenty of storage, but I didn't have a great deal of stuff. The balcony was nice to sit on in the morning or late afternoon to people watch. In the room is a little fridge, where you can store small bottles of drink etc. There was plenty of hot water in the bathroom and the water pressure was decent.

Breakfast was also delicious and plentiful, served in a buffet style in a large dining room with two outside terraces.

I would definitely stay there again.

It's located very close to the busiest area of Maspalomas so not suitable if you want a quiet holiday but for us it was perfect.

So this looks nice on the website, but don’t be fooled, so the hotel reception is lovely and clean and the staff are friendly, but my room had a Balcony and a view of the Main Road out of town, The food is rubbish if I had known I wouldn’t of payed Togo half board, The Hotel Room and the hotel could do with a bit of money spent on it, I had cracked tiles in my bathroom, the room looked very tired and needed a over haul. The road outside was quite noisy so I didn’t get a very good sleep at night as the patio doors was not double glazed.

Wonderful location, very, very helpful and accommodating staff, We enjoyed the facilities so much that we actually spent three of our six days on the island just resting and relaxing around the pool area…
The worst part, (and likely speaking for English and American tourists generally), would be that the eggs and potatoes served for breakfast every morning, were basically cold the first two mornings before I realized this was the norm…such a waste of food! Then, as we ate lunch on the patio overlooking the pool 4 days, it was really disappointing that the first day we had a Caprese salad, so we had a Caprese salad every day and the tomatoes went from being beautiful ripen red to almost pale, pink orange hard, and the balsamic vinegar was pretty much nonexistent, as it had been poured earlier and had seed into the cheese point that you could barely taste it … Only mentioning it because we ordered it four days because the first one was so good. We felt that each following day that was worse might be followed by a day where they found great tomatoes and made it fresh or at least poured the balsamic vinegar fresh.

Next door to the Yumbo Center & centrally located. Staff are all super helpful from reception to waiting and chambermaid staff. Lovely swimming pool and real value for money snack bar. Breakfast was excellent, it was more of a banquet than buffet as advertised. Fantastic four poster sun loungers by the crystal clear pool. Strong Wi-fi both in rooms and around the entire hotel and It was free. Great stay and we will return without doubt. Booked flights and hotel separately which constituted as saving of around £400+ on the equivalent package deals being offered. Stay here - you will not regret it.😁😁😁

I stayed at The Don Miguel for 19 nights from 16th June to 5th July and as a single traveller I enjoyed my stay. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. I booked half board and a twin room with pool view. The Hotel is very clean and my room was very comfortable and had a good sized balcony. I found the breakfast selection of food to be very good with plenty of choice. The evening meal also had a good choice of food. The pool was a good size and there were plenty of sunbeds available. The pool area was kept clean and tidy. I will definately be going back to stay at this hotel.

We’ve just returned home from nine nights at the Servatur Don Miguel, and were thoroughly impressed.

We stayed in room 201, which was on the second floor above the bar, and super easy to get to. Our friends were in 266 - be prepared for a long walk if your room is 30 or above!

Suite was spacious, bed comfortable, could have done with a few more facilities - a kettle and iron would be been very well received. Air con good, if a little noisy, but the room was clean and well decorated to a basic standard.

Right next to the Yumbo so be prepared for some noise late into the night, but we were there for the nightlife so this wasn’t an issue. The blackout curtains in the room were brilliant, especially when sleeping off a hangover until early afternoon!

Staff brilliant, friendly and helpful. Overall a great stay, will be returning next year!

Great location, friendly staff and silent aircon

Excellently located hotel with friendly staff and easy check in and out process. The rooms are a little dated however faultlessly clean and the aircon works well and silent! Worth a stay if you want a 10 minute walk to the beach, 1 min walk to the vibrant yumbo centre or just a pad to sleep and meet friends at.

Great food, friendly service

Overall a great stay - it was above our expectations.
Service was great all round.
Food was the highlight. Because the hotel doesn't offer All Inclusive, you can really tell they haven't had to cut back on the food quality. Lots of protein options every night, and it wasn't a fight to get a decent piece of meat or fish! Great selection that changed every night we were there (a week)

Everyone is hard working and professional, polite. Breakfast is amazing with so many choices. Great bars, poolside. WiFi was intermittent for 3 days, they did their best! Highly, highly recommend!!!! Gran Canaria did not disappoint!!! Will miss island and hotel!!

Some good point some not so good

The soap and shower containers were difficult to use. The breakfast was average fruit juices were terrible not fresh.
Room was okay but only english news channels.
No kettles or cups to make a tea or coffee, and very small fridge.
The pool area was good and although it says no reserving sunbeds a lot of people did anyway.
The rteception staff i dealt with were very helpful

Good standard 3☆ hotel

Travelled as a couple, took the no 66 bus from the airport, very easy. Nice welcome, as we arrived early we were shown a room to change to use the pool facilities. Lots of sunbeds available. Very reasonably priced drinks. Lovely room overlooking the pool
