The amazing staff is what really sets this place aside …they were so accommodating and nice it really made my stay special they even installed a handrail to help on the stairs for me …Lou anne and Thomas are stars here also I had an amazing massage at the Spa ! Deauville and this hotel are really special .

We loved Dauville, the hotel was average for the amount charged. Beds were too small with only a bath and shower hose, we were not given the option of a full shower. Position was good with easy parking available. Staff were pleasant and helpful. No safe available in the room

The staff went out of their way to help us meet up with friends at another hotel. They made our rooms ready mid day so we could nap from an overnight flight from the US. They opened the restaurant next morning a half hour early to accommodate our time schedule. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

A classy gem in Deauville

Our three night stay in Villa Augeval was thoroughly enjoyable. We particularly appreciated the view of racing stables from our room - the clip-clop of hooves being such an unusual background sound. Breakfast was very satisfying with a variety of fare on offer. The location was very pleasant and only a 12 minute stroll from Deauville town centre. So interesting to find a brocante on our first morning; apparently this outdoor antique market is held on the last Saturday of every month.

The property is in a good location and the staff were friendly. There are a couple of issues staying at the hotel. There is no air conditioning in many of the rooms which is not great in summer. They also don’t have tea or coffee making facilities. The hotel backs of a local race course with stables next door that can be noisy. The is a nice pool but no gym. Finally no washcloths were provided.

Nicely situated hotel in a quiet part of the town but easy walking distance of the main attractions such as the beach and race course. The hotel were very accommodating and looked after us very well while we there and giving us an excellent room to stay in which was very comfortable. Unfortunately we had a stressful start to the holiday in being involved in a traffic accident just outside the town and the hotel were both sympathetic and helpful in arranging for an engineer to visit assisting with translation in our dealings with them. The hotel benefits from having a pool and wellness centre which also helped us to recover from our ordeal. Thanks!

Arrived checked in and given rooms we had not reserved, no aircon and given an attic room. No alternatives offered or available, attic room had no towels, hairdryer was broken. Reception offered limited concierge services.....asked one person if they could recommend a local restaurant and he replied with No I am not from here, made no attempt to find out. The girls on the desk however were much more helpful and offered advice and made reservations for us

The little points which count!

Excellent little touches which make all the difference. The TV worked, it was easy to switch on subtitles and there was a list of available channels. The server at breakfast brought fresh coffee as you wanted very it, boiled eggs etc. Numerous items of attention to detail which seems beyond many large chains.

Staff could not really careless. When the automatic doors didnt open. she huffed and puffed. not our fault at all. She didnt even apologise for the inconvenience. She wouldnt let us in the side door. Just kept us waiting outside for 5 mins. Lighting in bedrooms was terrible. Bathroom was nice.

L'Augeval is a good hotel which could be made better with a couple of small additions. Our room had no shower....there was a nice whirlpool bath but a shower would have been preferred. We would also like tea / coffee facilities in the room....this was available via room service but it's nice to just make your own. The room was great, more like a suite really with separate seating area and a turret! Thoroughly recommended.

Excellent hotel in good location.

We have just returned from a five day stay at Villa Augeval. The hotel has a beautiful chateau exterior. Our room was well furnished and spacious, superking sized bed super comfortable, bath with jacuzzi and balcony with a side view of the stables (seriously horsey area) which was a lovely bonus. Although the weather wasn't sunny until day three we still swam in the clear heated pool every day, which was great relaxation after walking around Deauville and Trouville-sur-Mer and various excursions. The breakfast was delicious and served in a lovely dining room with a terrace and steps leading down to the garden. The staff were friendly and efficient, especially the sweet chambermaids. Great recommendation for La Drakkar restaurant (we ate there 3 times) from Elisa.

We don't normally review but felt we should on this occasion as this hotel is a gem and greatly enhanced our enjoyment of the lovely city of Deauville.

Hotel has a lovely position right by the stables and racecourse. Very comfortable and convenient with a small but sunny pool. Lots of beautiful buildings nearby and a huge beach within walking distance. We loved our stay and would just recommend that the bathroom and toilet should be together.

The hotel itself was full of character on the outside and inside, with vaulted ceiling in the bar/breakfasting area, nice decking and a pool area. The rooms are on the small side but this is made up for by them being full of character with lovely traditional windows and beams. Breakfast included a very good selection of quality produce. Staff were good on the whole, there were no negatives as such, however some staff could have been a bit more welcoming and friendly. Easy walk to square and beach

Room was great apart from there was no air conditioning and it was difficult showering. There was no where to hang

I've never left a review and want to do so after this stay b/c it was a bit frustrating. First, let me say I've traveled from the US to the EU several times and the experience here definitely stood out and led me to leave a review for others who may consider this location from the US. We picked this hotel based on positive reviews, but no one seemed to mention that the somewhat \"upgraded\" room only had a minimal skylight and one small window (no A/C or fan) which did little for air circulation. The bathroom was also on an angle and only had a tub with a shower head, so my sister and I (I'm only 5'3\") had to sit in the tub to shower/bathe. When we checked in they noted they were not busy during our stay, but when we tried to move rooms, we were told nothing could be done. Two days later, the cleaning team opened our small window to at least let some air into the room. We liked the location, though it was in a sleepy beach town so there were minimal dining options and the hotel restaurant was not open.

Charming Hotel Highly Recommended

We stayed in Deauville for 7 days. L'Augeval was just perfect. It overlooks the racecourse stables so couldn't be easier for a day at the races. It is also a short walk from the beach,the casino and town centre. The hotel has a heated outdoor pool which we used every day it was so pleasant.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome throughout our stay.

We had breakfast in the hotel every morning after trying it on the first day. They have everything anybody could want.

Unimprovable!

We booked a last-minute mini-break to Deauville, one of my favourite towns, and since I always stayed at a crappy hotel while staying there during the film festival, we picked this hotel at more or less random. Here were some of the things we liked about it:

- brilliant location, a few hundred meters from the beach, short pleasant walk to town centre
- good pool, with baby pool for kids
- jacuzzi in the bathtub
- good water pressure
- balcony (where you can smoke)
- lovely tables in the garden
- helpful staff
- decent breakfast (not the cheapest in town, but not the most expensive either)

I would definitely pick this hotel again when we return to Deauville, which we will as soon as humanly possible!

Great location in Deauville, good experience

A very pretty hotel, just 7mins from the beach and another 7mins from the city centre of Deauville. It's got a lovely boulangerie 1min walking from it and the area is really quiet at night, which is a plus for when you go to sleep. It's about 20mins walking from Trouville where most of the restaurants and bars are (in case the ones at Deauville are not enough for you). The only downsides of the hotel are a)No air-conditioning, which is a must in warm nights at a place with so many mosquitos as D/Trouville, b)Not all receptionists spoke English, but that's something that happens across France, so it's not an issue with the particular hotel. At any rate, considering the price, location and overall experience it is something that I'm sure people will enjoy if they are travelling for leisure with friends. I would definitely recommend it to others.

Essentially, everything we hoped it would be - attractive hotel, comfortable, welcoming, good location for beach and for walking into town. Easy to find and with plenty of parking around the hotel. A decent-sized outdoor pool was a nice feature and was particularly appreciated in the long, hot weekend we stayed. No complaints and would stay again.

In Deauville, but away from the crowds

The Hotel L'Augeval was a great central location to see the surrounding areas in Normandy, from the D-Day beaches to the various lovely seaside towns. It was set back from the hubbub, but not so far you couldn't walk to whatever you wanted. The architecture is charming, an example of the whole 19th century half-timbered LARGE houses, but was modernized with all expected conveniences. Many reviews seem confused as to whether thety have a restaurant. The do. You can have breakfast on the premises, and other food is available, although we didn't try it.

L'Augeval: From a fairytale- excellent location

We drove for a long time to get to Deauville from Paris, not really knowing what we were heading into. We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It is like staying in a cottage out of a story book. The whole town is a story book village. We loved out time there and loved our little hotel. The service was fabulous. I had a problem with my rental car and no cell phone coverage, so the front desk helped me three times to call the rental car company and work it out. They spoke clear English and were helpful with the sights as well. I would definitely stay here again.

Vi var meget kede af hverken at få badekar eller altan/terrasse. Alle billederne af superior-værelserne havde altan/terrasse, på nær vores. Vi havde udelukkende valgt et superior-værelse med forventningen om at der var et udendørsareal. Vi blev blankt afvist på at få et andet værelse. Det påvirkede vores ferie meget at der ikke var et udendørs areal til os - den eneste løsning var en terrasse der var aflåst. Mega øv.

Desuden var morgenmaden MEGET dyr og meget begrænset.

Derudover blev poolen ikke gjort ren og der var fuglelort på bunden. Øv.

Pas bcp information sur Deauville . C’était notre premier fois et nous aimerions avoir une carte avec un peu d’info sur les restos, les activities, le petit train touristique etc.

Le vin commandé le soir : nous préférions voir une bouteille et pas une canister qui prendre 20 minutes pour chaque verre. Si le bouteille est dans le frigo le température sérait correct. Trop longue.

Si non, les gens étaient très sympa et toujours à l’écoute.

Nice hotel in Deauville. Clean and cozy room with patio. Hotel has also a nice pool area. There is not much bad to day, however sound proofing wasn't the best ie we could hear the noise from the corridoor to our room quite clearly, although it didn't continue too late. All in all very nice experience and very good spot for hotel to travel and visit different places accross Normandy.

Parkieren in nächster Nähe möglich (öffentliche, kostenfreie Plätze.) Der kleine Garten hat ein Swimmingpool für heisse Tage! Es sind ca 15Min zu Fuss ins Zentrum von Deauville.

Un bel accueil, une équipe agréable et très attentive. un hotel chaleureux, une salle des petits déjeuners avec du caractère. Très bien situé.

Parfait et répond à mes attentes

j'y étais pour une nuit, et j'ai raté (réveil tard) le petit déj qu'on m'a assuré très bien
Très bon accueil,
C'est un bel hôtel bien localisé au centre et au calme. Je venais de le découvrir, bien que je fasse souvent des petits séjours à Deauville
J'y retournerai volontiers

Un hotel superbe et un service de grande qualité, très bon petit déjeuner, personnel serviable et sympathique, emplacement parfait (proche du centre mais au calme)...un vrai bijou dont on ne veut pas partir
