The primary plus of this hotel is the location, steps from a Metro stop. While the lobby area is impressive, my room and the general condition of the hotel were poor. The carpet in my room had multiple large stains. The stairway was not vacuumed at all during the three nights I was at the hotel, as the same bits of trash were there the whole time. The room and bathroom were quite small, and I had to maneuver around one of the twin beds to get into the bathroom. My room was on the street side, right above a Sushi restaurant stayed open late, so there were loud conversations going on past midnight, which the inadequate soundproofing failed to block. My impression is that this was once a fine hotel, but the current management is not maintaining it properly, or even cleaning it adequately. I WILL NOT be staying there again.

This Hotel is very \"tired\" and could do with an upgrade. We had a room backing on to the lift shaft which was noisy for most of the time, spoiling our sleep. The room was very small and tight for any space to do anything. It was not an enjoyable stay however, it must be said that this is in the centre of a European Capital City and was very low cost for that so, very good value but we were pleased to be staying for just one night.

This place was a complete dump and dive and is clearly false advertising. The room was absolutely disgusting full of mold, horrible carpet, stains, crumbling, plaster, grout missing in all the tiles in the bathroom the bed sheets look like they’ve been slept in. Nothing like the pictures. It was absolutely horrific and couldn’t stay there left the same day.

Absolutely disgusting property. Visible mold all throughout the bathroom and bedroom, room door was partially off the hinges, air conditioner didn't work, no coverings on the room light, broken trash can, stained carpet, phone did not work, I could go on and on. Staff said there was no maintenance on duty so there was nothing they could do to help (though I'm not sure what maintenance could do in a property so poorly kept). We immediately left and had to stay someone else, which I've never had to do before. I'm shocked hotels.com allows this kind of dump on their site and would have expected far more.

The location of the hotelroom was really good and central. Close to the metro and bus. Also many great café's nearby. Really recommend Delicia Brunch Café.
Supermarket nearby and also pharmacy nearby.

We enjoyed the view in 5th floor. Our stay in Lisbon was amazing and these are the things bringing up the rating. The price per night was good being that central.
There wasn't that much noise from the street even being that central.

All of this said there were some things we didn't like about the rooom/Hotel.

It was a quite strong smell of sewer from the bathroom/toilet.
There were stains on the sheets and pillows.
The fish in the reception had such a depressing aquarium that it was kinda hard to look at them every time you went in or out of the hotel...

You get what you give for the price in the end, the humidity and noise was something I could not stand, also there was a cot instead of a bed.
I had to leave the place due to those reasons, and they didn't five me back the town tax for the remaining nights I did not stay.

The only thing good about this hotel was the location right next to the Areeiro Metro station and taxis were always available at the square. The room had no kettle for tea or coffee, the shower had no safety bars, it was actually hazardous to take a shower and your knees touched the wall as you were trying to sit on the toilet.

Sadly the hotel needs some maintenance work on the rooms as bathroom facilities are basic with a cracked toilet and leaking taps. A hole in curtains and a carpet worn threadbare could be updated but for 1 night before joining a cruise it's convenient for cruise port. Staff are helpful. If you haven't brought Euros the Oceu supermarket has a cash machine from which you can get them. It's just round cirner

Don’t stay here! The hotel is mid-renovation which is seriously needed. The room was OK but common areas are dirty, including some kind of sheet spread across the 5th floor staircase which would seriously impede emergency exit. Beds are hard. The key card didn’t work & had to be reprogrammed- twice in a 2-night stay. The front desk clerk claimed it had been demagnetized due to being next to my cellphone but that wasn’t true, and another guest had the same problem - either the mag stripe cards are worn out or the programmer is faulty. The more helpful clerk at another time didn’t have any way to contact higher management. By the time we went out to find dinner he was nowhere to be found, other arrivals were standing in the lobby frustrated, unable to check in. Parking is on the street, very difficult to find, local residents use the spaces night and daytime, we had to carry our luggage 4 blocks. On arrival the room had no towels which was resolved quickly however when we asked for some sort of cup or glass for water - “the hotel doesn’t supply those”. What??? This is the first time I have encountered that, in thousands of hotel rooms of all categories in my 70 years. Our friends moved elsewhere after one night despite being prepaid and non-refundable.

The location and transportation around the hotel were the plus.

The hotel is so dirty. Do not expect the room you can see on their promo pictures. They are not even simmilar!
We got a room for 2 ( 2 single beds) first. See pictures. room 209 I went to ask for another room but it was moreless the same dirty but was also an unbelievable smell (room 206).
On the third time we got a little bit better room 506 (last option that night). But better i mean, the carpet was not as dirty as in the rooms before. Anyway you will get the bathroom with moldy ceiling. (i did not take a picture of it in room 506) but it was totally covered with mold.
Ower all the beds looks and feel clean. Anyway I have been so disapointed about hotel as newer before in my life. I do not mind if the hotel is old but this was simply disgusting and incredible smell on hallways and in some of the rooms. For almost 100 Euros you should get much better service. Breakfast is also very poor.

Do not think i need something speciall. I am traweller, staying in hostels often, camping, and so on...

Convenient to the airport for a quick overnight

About a 1 1/2 star, in my opinion. Ok for a brief overnight. Very close to the Lisbon airport. Linens and bathroom were very clean. My room reeked of cigarettes and the carpet was old, dinghy and stained. Only one overhead bright light. Basic with no frills or amenities. Desk agents were helpful and spoke good English.

The good thing about the hotel was the metro is just outside the door and there was a good breakfast. Otherwise, I would not recommend this place. The bathroom had mold on the ceiling and walls. The room was hot and the manager refused to turn on the air conditioning since it was April but it was during a heatwave. He dismissed us as “Americans!” The hallway smelt of sewage. We had to have the window open for air but that made it noisy from outside traffic and brought in insects. The room looked dirty. Stains on the carpet and walls. It’s an old hotel but it’s worn out old not classic. I think this was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

Not as good as i thought

I complain about 3 things: the bathroom smells bad even after it is cleaned, eventually smells bad again, the room was beside the elevator which was really noisy, specially at night, it was hard to sleep. And the key which is an electronic card i had to go all the time to reception so they could configure it because it stopped working all the time.
The good things are the location, you have a metro station in front of the hotel, and also the people who work there were amazing, very nice people

Hotel in a great location, 10m from Areeiro Metro station, room was smelly - moud mostly, bed could be better - mattress was very old. Staff were friendly but the door card has to be magnetized every time we leave the room, even though it wasn't with the mobile phone. Other guests are very noisy and seems to not have respect, banging doors and yelling after 22pm. I would recommend only if you can wear earplugs to sleep and for 2 or 3 nights.

We had booked our trip to portugal and tried to reach the hotel through messages many a times since our flight landed at 23hrs but they never replied. Our mother 62 year old higly diabetic was travelling with us. We wanted to make it a comfortable trip for her.It was a forst trip there as well.We took the trouble the call the hotel n inform them that we r three travellers even on the day of travellers n our booking was for 3 bed room as well.they said everything will.be fine. And jas been organised but when we reached there all tierd after our travel from Aberdeen at 24hrs.to our suprise we were put in the top most 2 bedroom on the 5th floor .The room was so shabby and looked so dirty
No towels in the bathroom .When we asked the reception he said there are no towels in the hotel.The receptionist Ibrahim was busy on the phone but he was not even aware of our booking.he seemed surprised.he was very arrogant n rude . He did not make us feel welcomed at all. We were so tierd n then had to deal with him about our room. we went searching for our own room.at 24hrs after a long tiering journey n had to go around looking for a room to rest.My mum had too take her medication but There was No water available as well . What a horrible stay.Please dont book this hotel for reason .....this ox eprse hotel we have come across.

I had messaged the property prior to arrival letting them know that we would need to drop off our bags a bit early since we needed to return our rental car. No one responded and upon arrival the bag storage space was a very small closet which didn’t safely hold our belongings. Our room didn’t come with towels and after asking for 3 hours and 2 trips down to the desk we finally got them. The internet DID NOT WORK!

When I was looking on the internet places to stay the room you had looked nice with a decent sized bed so I selected that room specifically as I felt I needed the space and wanted the comfort! So I turn up to the hotel and I got a tiny little room with a tiny little bed and a curtain as a quilt not even a proper quilt I was cold all night and couldn't do anything about it! Directly opposite the metro station which was very convenient, staff were friendly, decent breakfast, arrived 2 hours early but was still given room which I appreciated.
The only little problem I encountered was with one of the ladies in housekeeping, when I got my room there was no towels (probably because I was early) when I asked the housekeeper for a towel she picked up a damp used towel put it up to her face and smelt it and then handed it to me. In fairness she was trying to explain something to me but my Portuguese is non existent as was her english, I think she was trying to be helpful but I'd say she probably gave me the dirty towel out of pressure /panic. When I returned to the hotel later that evening there was a fresh set of towels in the room, so I guess my early arrival just caught her off guard. It did NOT affect my stay in fact it made me smile mainly because it showed she was being helpful but just went about it the wrong way plus every other day the room was spotless

Nice, traditional, older-style city hotel. Outstanding location, literally with metro station Areeiro on the doorstep. 'My Auchan' mini supermarket' two doors next door - very convenient. Central location means there can be some traffic noise if windows are left open though. Communal areas of hotel spotless, refurbishment of rooms in progress but in some fixtures and fittings, due to age, are getting a little worn around the edges. Wifi access not always great / consistent but rooms with own bathroom, in this price-range, in Lisbon, are like hen's teeth. Overall would recommend this hotel.

We were bitterly disappointed with the conditions in this hotel. Forget the fluffy towels, bathrobes and slippers advertised and replace them with threadbare towels, sagging mattress, hot water boiler in the tiny bathroom and dark wood random pieces of furniture. We asked for a different room but the second room was nearly as bad as the first (though without the bathroom boiler thankfully). The reception was lukewarm and off-hand, even before we complained. Breakfast was mediocre although the rolls were fresh. This was not somewhere we would ever consider returning to.

They first gave me a prison room which I requested that they love me or give my money back. They landed up moving me to a much better room. You could see they newly renovated. I noticed that they were renovating there building too. Please need to monitor there linen as I noticed it was the cleanest. Location is good near all public transport.

The residence Areeiro is right by the metro station, and though it is on a main road this is not an extremely busy one. Slightly frosty check in when I arrived late in the evening but I was given a nice room on the second floor at the end of the corridor and at the back of the building. Adequately sized room with twin beds, small wardrobe, safe for rent and TV with some channels in English. Spacious bathroom too- the shower tap did not work at the lower level, so overhead only. All in all very good value. Breakfast is available for extra.

The location is ok. Close to Metro and buses. However, not many nice restaurants and not much to see without a long walk or public transportation (which works ok).

However, my biggest two complaints about this hotel are quality of the rooms and the breakfast service... Not much anyone can do about the condition. The hotel was likely a nice place to stay 30 years ago but is now dated and there has been no effort in modernizing. By far the biggest disappointment was the breakfast. Very small room with only 4-5 tables and for the 5 days we were there, we had to fight for a place to sit. To make matters worse, the staff did a poor job of cleaning off vacated tables for new guests. For the size of the hotel, the breakfast room should have been at least three times larger and staff more attentive. If you breakfast is important you as part of your stay, find a different place.

Was there 4/1/19. Hotel in dire of renovation and update. Top corner room with beautiful 180 degree view of the city over powered by flies and mosquitos roaming around us. We had our last night stay in Lisbon here and were disappointed with the false advertisement photos that were shown on Expedia. Room was muggy and smelled, outdated and cold water in showers. Staff was very friendly which I would say we were greeted nicely but overall stay was disappointing. Breakfast wasn’t great, they served leftovers from probably the day before, so we just ate cereal. Wouldn’t come back here again.

This hotel was exactly what was to be expected for the price. However, the location was perfect as it was right by the metro and very close to the airport which was the reason for choosing it. The staff person that was working the desk was exceptional! Wish I would have got his name to mention. He was so professional and helpful, which I appreciated very much. Thank you!

Good location for getting to the airport via the Metro. Overnighted here before catching flight to Madrid. Basic hotel with decent beds and room was clean.

Nice location

Rooms need updating. Location was great. Airport is very close with a taxi, about 10-15mins. Subway is just outside the door. You can catch and travel easily. Reception staff is very nice. They need to spruce up the rooms. It is dated. Breakfast was not bad at all, but they watch you like a hawk make sure you paid and not taking food to your room.

Hotel is located in a good location, near transport etc. Furnishings are tired, beds very lumpy and uncomfortable. Some of the staff are uncooperative and the rest are sullen and unfriendly. Didn't try the breakfast so can't comment. Would not recommend at all.

Worse bed ive ever slept in. I invite the owners to sleep on the bed in 106 to aee what i mean. Also view from room was somehat disgusting - a barb wired compound. I wont stay tgere again.

closer to Metro but not worth it

small cramped rooms, the breakfast is not sufficient and they don't provide enough food, only advantage is that it's within city, they don't have any restaurant in the hotel.. so won't offer end a glass or extra plate if you want to get food from outside. The staff who provided the breakfast was rude and it made our experience unforgettable in a negative way

In a good part of town, cab pickup is right across the street. It's also located not too far from the art museum in Lisbon. Overall my stay was solid. Definitely alright for a one night stay, wouldn't want to spend more than a week there.
