The hotel I worn, the rooms and facilities are in desperate need of refurb. The room I was in was ok, the furniture was a bit beaten up and the carpet worn out, but ok. There was no thermostat in the room and it was overly hot.

I was charged twice for my stay despite only booking and staying in one room. An additional room was charged to my account that I did not book or use. I raised a formal complaint about this issue, but I have still not received any response. This lack of communication and incorrect billing has made the experience extremely disappointing.

I was on a business trip and ended up not staying at this hotel and driving home due to the complete state of disrepair and smell throughout the hotel. I regularly see hotels that are dated but this was a complete disgrace to the Mercure name. Rooms was absolutely disgusting with stains on the chairs and work tops, I didn’t even put my bag down before I decided I was not staying, reception was smelly and unclean. And the staff didn’t even inform visitors to register their car reg to avoid a fine.

The hotel feels rather tired and the rooms are not particularly clean or well stocked (tea/milk), breakfast buffet slow and kept falling behind customer service and there was no hot water in the room for a whole afternoon and evening - thankfully back on by the morning in time for shower before departure. Upside is a good location, quiet and rooms and bed spacious and comfy.

Beautiful building in shabby condition. No USB ports in the room. Ventilator and towel dryer in the bathroom did not work. Front desk staff was very welcoming. Breakfast was definitely not worth it at the price that they charged, but there is no place to walk to near the hotel.

Room was a bit tired and in need of some TLC, bathroom floor needs a good scrub, shower was a trickle of water. Staff were lovely when you could find them. Breakfast was awful, limited choice, paper cups for tea and coffee, waited at least 30 mins for food to be restocked. Only melon available as fruit. Yogurt was sour, eggs were greasy.
Bar only open to 11pm and limited stock, uncomfortable seating and cold. Again had to wait for staff to be available. Dogs roaming around every part of the hotel, even the dinning rooms.

Terrible customer service. I wrote a formal complaint 5 days ago to the hotel manager, still no reply!

My room was freezing cold on arrival, heated towel rail in bathroom was freezing cold and shabby interior aroung the lift on the ground floor. Carpets look tired and old, doors and grab handles were dirty, walls need painting, called reception a dozen of times from my room, no answer!

We recently stayed at this hotel and overall had an okay experience. The building itself is lovely, and the bar area is really nice. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay.

Our room was spacious with a lovely view, and there was plenty of heating, although the entryway by the staircase was uncomfortably hot. Unfortunately, a few details let the stay down. The toilet flush was very loud and didn’t work properly, and we found a dirty towel on arrival—though thankfully there were enough clean ones for it not to be a major issue.

After our first night, the room wasn’t made up. Towels were replaced, but the coffee wasn’t replenished and the beds weren’t made, which was disappointing. Reception being right next to the busy bar also made check-ins and queries a bit difficult due to the noise.

For what we paid, the stay was acceptable, but with a bit more attention to the small details, it could have been much better value for money.

The whole hotel is so run down, old and looks to be falling to pieces. It felt like faulty towers. Our room didn’t have heating. The radiators did not work, seemed like they hadn’t been bled in years. When we arrived the room had a plug in radiator already on, it was still cold so when we were popping out for food we told the man on reception and he sent another radiator straight up to our room. I couldn’t fault the staff, they were great. The man who checked us in was lovely and very helpful but the hotel is terrible. We paid for two nights while visiting family and left the first morning and wasted the money on what we had paid for the 2nd. I wouldn’t stay here again if it was free!

Whilst the hotel is technically wheelchair friendly it involved leaving my disabled partner outside in the cold whilst i went inside to open a fire exit that could only be opened from inside. The main entrance could easily be fitted with a ramp but isnt.

The room itself was acceptable but the portable radiator (despite on light showing) and a lamp didnt work.

This hotel is shabby at best. Way past its prime. The vestibule from reception to the room on the right hand side of the main building as you look at it was stinking. The toilet door was constantly open and stank. The whole place smelt of freshener covering up mustiness. The room itself whilst not dirty other than some dusty lights but smelt terrible. It smelt like the cleaning cloths used had never been washed and had that stinky dishcloth smell of ‘minkiness’. The bathroom floor had vinyl covering what we can only describe as sponge. The floor was undulating and bouncy. Uneven and quite frankly as an ex HSE person quite a risk. The rubber upskirt was coming away from the walls and in one place had been taped up with masking tape. The ceiling was moulding and flaking. Similar issues in the main room ceiling cracked and flaking. All the units had veneer off or lifting. Bare minimum of tea/coffee and the box of face/nose tissues was attached to the wall above the toilet bowl !!! Nice collection of airborne toilet germs and when pulling tissues out the box fell off the wall every time! On the plus side the bed was well made and the reception chap was most pleasant.

So we really enjoyed our stay. Polite staff and a spacious room. During Breakfast Rudy was very attentive and checking on us to ensure the food was satisfactory. Breakfast was good, location great and ample parking convenient too. The only reason I gave it three stars was that communication before arrival was poor. I tried many ways to get in touch with the hotel to make changes without losing my payment but noone replied, not through the Expedia website nor directly from to me from the hotel. As a result I had to cancel a day of work which cost me. Outside of communication, the actual experience at the hotel was great. A lovely place that I'd definitely return to again. An honest review.

Guests, who appeared to be long term residents, kept me awake until after 03.00. I had to get security to deal with the noise.

I was on a work trip, so after a long day, I wanted to unwind an get a good nights sleep, so I was refreshed for the next day.
When I complained to reception about the previous evening events, I was told he was sorry.
I was also concerned about the fire safety standards of the hotel.
Having stayed at this hotel previously, without any issues, for whatever reason it appears to have gone downhill rapidly. I'll be giving it a miss in the future!

The room was great. I am a Muslim and I eat halal food. On the first day of the breakfast, I was advised there are chicken halal sausages. But I was very disappointed to see that they were placed next to the bacon. On the second day, before helping myself to the sausages I asked to confirm that they were chicken sausages. I was advised that the sausages were pork. I could have gone with thinking that they were chicken but I was cautious and asked. All the food should be labelled.

Staff were really friendly, in reception, bar and at breakfast. We had a nice meal in the bar, including catering for dietary issues. Lots of choices at breakfast, and it was nice to have soya milk and non-dairy butter.
Parts of the hotel are dated, but we like older traditional buildings.
The rooms were fine, if a little warm. They were well equipped. The furniture was quite old style, but had obviously been of good quality when fitted. The bathroom was fairly modern, with nice toiletries.
You had to enter your car registration on a tablet to get free parking, but I liked that there were huge signs and notices warning you to do this, so you couldn’t miss them.
It was good value, cheaper than a local hotel from a well known budget chain.

stayed at the Bradford Mercure one Friday night in September, everything was fine until near 2am where I was abruptly awoken when two strangers entered my room after being issued a key card for the same room by reception.

This was an extremely distressing experience, causing me significant stress, anxiety, and loss of sleep in the days since. The sense of intrusion and lack of security left me shaken and deeply concerned about the hotel’s safeguarding of its guests.

What added further to my dissatisfaction was the response I received when I reported the incident the following morning. The member of staff at reception showed little to no concern for what had happened, which left me feeling dismissed and that the seriousness of the situation was not acknowledged at all.

This incident is wholly unacceptable and despite promises via email from the general manager, I've yet to be provided an answer as to how this happened or even offered anything beyond a simple apology.

Honestly, I would recommend that you stay almost anywhere else if possible, this hotel have shown me that they clearly do not care about customers or safety.

Having read reviews, I knew the hotel was a little \"dated\". It is!. But it was clean and comfortable. Very comfy bed. Had a really good night's sleep.
Staff are all professional, and friendly.
Perhaps Reception staff could offer help with carrying bags to rooms. My room was quite a long way from Reception: up an impressive baronial hall type staircase, along a corridor, then more stairs and through a couple of heavy fire doors.
There's a big carpark, and the hotel is set back from the road so it's quiet.
A pleasant dining room. I'd got a good deal with breakfast included. I like to have a late breakfast, and Mercure Bradford serve it till 11am. Suited me well. Staff were very helpful. Attentive, but not fussy. Breakfast was available till 11am, which I really liked.
I'd be happy to stay again when travelling through the area.

Overall my stay was satisfactory. The hotel looks nice with period features. My room was very dated, on arrival and entering my room there was a number of flys around the window and flying around the room, along with ladybirds in the bathroom. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, as this was just somewhere to sleep due to work commitments it was satisfactory. I did also have an issue with my key card which ment I had to go back to reception twice to have this issue resolved.

Located away from town centres this hotel has some character and indeed some characters.Undoubtedly it needs a few £’s to update but that doesn’t take away from the price you pay against the comfortable stay you receive. It is very clean,warm,as comfortable as a Premier Inn and the staff (reception,restaurant,room prep staff) are all welcoming and know how to smile. The smiles are my takeaway….they’re free.

Check in receptionist on this occasion was very abrupt and not very hospitable. The rooms are in modern wings attached to the grand house you’ll see in the pictures — there was apparently no lift, so be prepared for a long walk & lots of stairs to rooms. We especially liked the staff we met. The room was clean, bed comfortable.
The only thing we were really upset about was that my Sister who’s 75 years old came to visit us for a couple of hours, and a few days later got a £100 parking fine. To me it’s ridiculous that a virtually half empty car park can fine someone for staying a couple of hours. There was a notice on the front desk that said guests had to put in their registration number, surely not for someone visiting family. And that 2 hours was spent in reception talking to the staff. And they knew she was just visiting and no one mentioned that she had to put her reg number in. Still doesn’t alter how we felt about the staff. They were very friendly. Especially the ones on Reception.

Upon entering bankfield was greeted with 2 foreign people avin an argument one had him by the throat, instinct kicked in i said do you mind ,this is a hotel , they looked shocked id said anything, then proceeding to reservation desk to check in , was directed to different parts was goin everywhere over hotel , its tired out dated , my partner then said he worked there in the 80,s painting it still the same paint on ceilings, plus wallpaper was coming off n hangin, finally found room , omg it needed a good clean dust on skirting boards cobwebs , curtains needed washing smelt of smoke from vapes , looked in bathroom bath stained , n toilet looked looked like someones had a shave n left the bits in it , flushed it n still wouldn't go so i took a photo , anyway it was getting late , bed was ok after checking but slept on top , then just sort of settling down then the smell of someone smoking weed , it absolutely stunk , because it was dark couldn't see who was smoking it , in the morning, when looking out of window no wonder , they looked like asylum seekers, in the morning i did ask a member of staff and they wouldnt comment, n rushed off , there was no manager about as they had a craft fair on so i left it , it wasn't only us that remarked but others on our floor did to , said no point complaining you won't get anywhere they look after them , sorry to say its a beautiful hotel in its day but not behind closed doors it isnt , sorry for long post but im saying as i find it

We decided to stay here as I was meeting family at a local event. The location turned out to be great as I could walk to the event which made life a lot easier. The car park is huge and free which is a very big plus. Although there is so many signs telling you to validate your parking.
The condition of the building is dated to say the least. Bits of worn carpet, wallpaper hanging off etc. It’s definitely dated and needs some serious renovation.
We only ate breakfast at the hotel, it was okay. Selection of cold continental and hot breakfast.
Limited in quantity and despite the menu stating black pudding there wasn’t any. The milk for the cereal wasn’t cold and neither was the fruit juice. Little annoying things that would be easily improved on.

Beautiful location. Very scenic and spacious with big lawns you can enjoy. Building is big and beautiful. Loads of parking available which is free. Check-in was smooth. Hotel itself needs an upgrade as most of the things are run down. Rooms were ok. Bed itself was very nice and comfortable. Toilet wasn’t modern but clean

We stayed here for one night, reception was friendly. The hotel is worn run down and needs a total revamp. Carpets worn, doors missing glass, shower very poor. Only good thing was the bed been comfortable.

From the start, this stay was sloppy. The hotel is tired, needs a facelift but there is little excuse for the slapdash attitude to cleaning.
The hotel is so well placed, a great car park. There is a bus stop outside, taking you to Keighley and beyond or towards Bradford.
I arrived early and went to reception. I said I was early and asked if I could register. \"The receptionist will be back in 10 minutes. I went to get my luggage. Returned. Waited 20 minutes. Rang receptionist at my behest. You can't register until 3. That's fine but I could have been told that when I arrived. No offer to hold my luggage.
When I returned check in took 20 minutes because I had no physical credit card.
The walk to my room allowed me to see the shabby state of the hotel, areas clearly not cleaned recently or regularly.
The room was OK though tired. Part of the window casements were broken. The shower trickled. The bedding was stained, not massively but enough to notice. The crockery and cutlery in the room were not clean.
I asked for a bath mat as there was not one in the bath. When it arrived it was wet and had hairs on it. Outside there was litter that remained throughout my stay. And some cups and glasses were outside all day. Throughout the hotel, the carpets nthe carpets needed to be vacuumed and they were not cleaned at all whilst I was there.
My room was not cleaned properly throughout my stay

The hotel is very dirty and tired looking. In desperate need of an upgrade. We usually stay here when visiting family but dont think we will again.

Hotel was so dated and dirty, a rubbish bag was outside of one room on our arrival and was still there 2 days later as we left!!

Front of house staff though were so lovely and helpful; can't fault them at all
