Value for money, but don’t expect the ritz. The hotel is clean, but in need of modernisation. This is for the hotel and also the gym / pool / sauna. Everything just needs updating and a lick of paint.
Friendly staff, great little pub next door showing sky and tnt sports with nice beer, nice staff and a good home based food menu.

A very pleasant stay.

Room was very big, clean and airy. Very hot so asked for fan,,,,Adam on reception soon sorted.
Big car park and wifi is adequate.
Bathroom decor a bit tired and stain on carpet near bathroom door. Pub on site keep good beers and the food is ok. Didn’t use the swimming pool.
If in the area would definitely stay again.

What a lovely place, check in was nice & easy & the receptionist was very welcoming & friendly. We had a drink in the pub & all staff were super friendly, especially the lad who was also on check out this morning!
We didn’t have breakfast as we went to my parents house nearby & my dad cooked for us 😊

In need of some love

Hotel is badly in need of refurbishment. Felt somewhat unsafe as there was no way of locking the door from the inside. Toilet had trouble flushing needing at least two goes. Pub was very dark but food was OK.

The stay was awful, the room was massive, freezing cold, took all night for it to warm up, the room was very dated and scruffy, old wardrobes, very old couch that I wouldn’t of let my dog sleep on, bedding was clean but with a hole in top duvet, the breakfast was horrendous, we ordered two cooked English breakfasts, not two minutes later they came out, the food was I would say warm at best, bland with no taste, a minute later he brought the toast, this was stone cold hard and had not seen heat for some time. We were also placed next to the front entrance which was very noisy, the doors just slammed shut all night long. They said you can eat at the pub that’s on sight, it was as rough as something out of the film road house but at least the food was mostly edible and hot. Needless to say we would not stay here again if you were paying the bill, if I were you I would remove it from your service as this will reflect on you very badly.

Hotel very run down and dated decor. Had to phone hotel to get somebody to come to the reception to check in.
I thought we had already paid on booking through the app only to be told that we had to pay at receptionist again.
Overall experience ok as it was just a place to sleep one night, wouldn’t want to stay any longer.

We loved staying at the hotel and we had our 3 year old with us,
There was no sound on the night, and the black out curtains helped our 3 year old sleep. The room was was very big and clean so there was enough room for us all. The staff were very helpful and always there if you needed them. There is a area that has toys for children whcih kept our child entertained as we checked in. I would definetly stay

Worn but Worth it !

We arrived early, which proved no problem to the helpful and knowledgeable staff.
Overall the hotel was clean but looking a little dated. A good supply of Tea and Coffee was available.
The room was a good size with a very comfortable bed. Like many hotel rooms now there was no main light, just lamps, which I find a bit dreary.
The attached spa was ok with a nice jacuzzi and warm pool. But like the main building it was a bit 'worn'.
Take your own towel or pay for use. There was also no working lockers.
A decent pub serves food just over the carpark. £7 breakfast was basic but good value. Juice, coffee, cereal and cooked.

Our stay at The Highfield was really good. The staff and service was great. Facilities in the room were basic, room size good, but tiny toilet with broken seat, tiny TV for size of room, sofa bed comfortable to sleep, but had definitely seen better days. Sofa bed arms stained, door looked like it had been punched as some paint coming off and wood a bit cracked, and marks along wall behind single beds (didn't affect room, just a bit unsightly).

That said, as previously mentioned, the staff and service absolutely made our trip. It was a bit expensive for the state of the room, but I would recommend to others, as staff were so helpful and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble.

Lovely hotel to stay with really friendly staff

Booking in was easy, the room was clean, big and good facilities, the wifi didn’t work in my room. The bathroom was overall clean but the grouting needed attention, plenty of towels. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The pool was lovely the jacuzzi was lovely and warm, though the water needed a clean. The communal carpets needed a clean, it was a lovely quiet hotel, despite a pub next door. It was reasonably priced, I would recommend it and ill would definitely stay there again.

We stayed in a triple family room which was very spacious. The room was very clean though a little dated perhaps.Beds were comfortable, bedding and towels were spotless and there was plenty hot water. Hairdryer was a great addition.
Staff were friendly and the corridors were much more up to date than the rooms.

The only downside to our stay was breakfast. It looks as though it was an after thought. Attention to detail was certainly lacking. The mini fridge was in need of a good clean and made us wonder what the kitchen was like . The tea and coffee jars looked dirty and more b&b than hotel spec. The fact the staff wore no uniform or even an apron was off putting. Seeing the chef come out in a grubby tshirt was also unprofessional. It felt as though the fact we wanted breakfast was an inconvenience. Times are hard, i understand that, but waiting staff should have a basic uniform, even matching tshirts, and chef most certainly a clean apron. Pethaps the manager should help himself to breakfast once in a while .

I've it a wide birth!

We booked a spa hotel because we wanted to relax after work have a swim sauna and steam. However this was not a SPA hotel the swimming pool heating was not working and the pool was closed. The Sauna was cold and the Steam room cold. Closes at 8pm and opens at 8am but no one told us these important things either. We asked the hotel for a refund that would enable us to pay for a spa evening elsewhere. The management said they would be in touch and still a week later we have not heard from them by email or by phone. A total lack of integrity. We booked a spa hotel because that is what it is advertised as on Hotel.com however this is not a spa hotel by any stretch of the imagination. The sauna stank and steam room stank.

Our room was huge, my double bed was slightly uncomfortable as i could feel the springs. My sons bed creaked every time he moved, which disturbed me but he said he slept well!

Only staff member we saw, who seemed to be there all the time, was really lovely and helpful. However furnishings tired, no cleaning of room or replacement of towels (during 2 night stay) and breakfast was not only very much self service (everything laid out on long table) but also customers also expected to clear the table afterwards. If it was a budget option - fine, but hotel was far too expensive for what it was.

Place was ok. Paid extra for cooked breakfast which was poor quality and served cold.

Felt that the staircase going up to the floor our room was on was a safety hazard for young children. The gap between the spindles on the stairs and the rail along the walkway at the top of the stairs is far to wide. I was very nervous for my 3 year old who would easily have fit through the gaps. Obviously kept a close watch on my child but an unnecessary hazard in my opinion.

Booked The Highfield to attend a party nearby. Very dated decor, but large room with very comfortable bed. Breakfast was a little hit and miss - although the staff did their best and the gentleman on duty was very polite with customers and smiled. Couldn’t finish breakfast as my toast had mould on the crusts.

the hotel was convenient for my stay, the bedrooms have dated decor although they are clean and the biggest rooms i have ever stayed in.
if the hotel was updated with new decor it would be lovely. it has a great staircase and the staff were very friendly and polite.
we didn't use any of the facilities. although we did have our wedding reception there 19 years ago......
the surrounding area is awaiting development so a little shabby.
it meets the 3 star rating for a basic stay, but has the potential to be so much more.

We ended up staying at The Highfield after our booked accommodation let us down but thankfully The Highfield took us in within 10mins.
On arriving at The Highfield we were greeted by a friendly young lady on reception who booked us in very quickly explained where everything was in the hotel.
The room was very spacious for a double room with a very comfortable relaxing bed and whilst the decor may need refreshing the room overall and it’s facilities were great.

Such a disappointment. This hotel is very dated and needs a good makeover.

Room size was great!

Décor was old fashioned, bathroom was clean but just not a relaxing space. Toilet and bed are low, pillows are lumpy, no blinds just curtains which on the ground floor is not good. Everyone could see all our things all over because there wasn't enough hangers to hang everything up.

Had iron and trouser press which was a big plus for us because we were staying for 12 nights.

The staff are great, they keep the rooms really clean, offer any assistance required and the options at breakfast are good too - not great but certainly ample.

Such an absolute shame because it's in a great spot. It's got a restaurant attached that offers nice meals, and they are well priced. Limited wine and beers list which I find odd because it's attached to a pub. The pub is ok. It's what you'd expect in this area of Bradford. A bit rough around the edges.

If the hotel was as lovely as the people it'd be a great place to stay!

The Bar staff were rude and there was no food served after 8pm. And the Breakfast was just awful. A tressle table, with fridge and toaster does not make for a “Continental Buffet. The Bed was okay but the room was tired and the sofa broken. All in all this Hotel did not represent good value for money.
