Not to my expectations . The place needs an upgrade and 10:00 pm it was dead . Construction in the day..no night club. WiFi was horrible. I don’t believe l will go to any Decamaro Hotel. To be honest. .. The People at the Restaurants / cleaners/ Hillary at Customer Service was very professional..Your Hotels need Maintenance/upgrade .. it’s a very beautiful location.. But my friends, this is 2025… not 1940.please put bi-lingual at the receptionist desk.

Everything was really bad! No wifi in the rooms, no AC in the restaurant, bad conditions, hours for eating, so you don’t found always something to eat, in the middle of the shower the water stop, every door in the rooms have an opening at the bottom, ( so of course how the room can be cold) the lights in the hallway don’t work really well, sooo sad was my experience!!

This is not an international quality all inclusive resort. It is more like a Best Western with a view. The front desk service was horrible. They were indifferent. I asked four times on the first day to get towels put in our room (not a single towel was given to us) and to repair the broken phone. After four days, the phone was not fixed and we weren't even updated on it. Just \"tough luck\"

The food is buffet style and decent, but not the quality you would expect from a \"resort\". There is no real beach, just a wooden boardwalk near a designated swimming spot.

Housekeeping came once in four days. We had to keep snagging towels out of the linen storage closet.

Views were nice, the pools are beautiful. the alcohol is pretty blah. Their idea of a coctail is half a paper cup of fruit juice and a shot of alcohol.

If you are looking for a few days where you can hang out by the beach and not have to worry about going to a restaurant, this might work for you. But do not mistake this for a resort. It is a midlevel hotel with delusions of grandeur.

The property is very old. Room was very small and the bathroom was in very poor condition. The shower water was not consistent. Would fluctuate between hot and cold? Also, the bathroom sink was not secure. If I leaned on the sink, it would almost fall off the pedestal. Also, in order to reserve dinner or visitation at another property, you had to use your phone to make reservations when the portal opened at 8:00am. There should be an easier more convenient way to make reservations. Overall, not a good experience. Wont be staying at this Decameron again.

I purchased our flight and hotel together through this app, and while we were at the location & Expedia charged behalf the hotel extra for our stay since more the a month ago we fully paid, I contacted the hotel 2 times before arrival & they were not able to find my reservation and of course, I was not charged, finally someone on Expedia said that we were ready to go. This trip was not what we expected for the amount of money we paid, plus the overcharge, the worst experience ever with customer services from the Hotel and Expedia I wish could respond to this issue since I was never notified and they should not sent an approval of your reservation unless you are set to go. Photos and rooms are not as shown. Hopefully nobody is force to book first directly to Decameron and hopefully Expedia customer service gets more accurate and helpful, I called twice and both times I was charge differently,

The ocean swimming pool is great, really great. The papercups, the restaurants, the staff, the lack of flexibility of all the staff, the lack of towels, dinning options, etc. Are far from good.
There is no flexibility, what so ever, for an early check in. There is zero flexibility on beach times. The bar alternatives aren't great. It took them 40 minutes to get me a towel on the first day, even after I had to wait until 1500 to do the check-in. On the second day, and on the third, I didn't get any towels in my room.
The rooms are full of rust.
All in all, price/quality is good, and the beach is just amazing. The service is just not good at all.

Given the price, the property is in serious disrepair. The resort boasts “all inclusive” but really the drinks are very generic liquor and the restaurants were closed multiple days during our week long stay forcing us to eat at the buffet. The staff was friendly however it rained heavily and our room was constantly inundated due to leaks on the roof. The shower was painstakingly small had awful water pressure and it took forever for the water to warm up mildly. The hotel is close to the shopping district but the outside is constantly swarmed with locals trying to sell you car rentals/trips/souvenirs.

Nice buildings albeit old and in need of repairs. It rained and floors got wet and there were leaks in the ceiling. Restaurant and bar staff were nice. The front desk staff rude and uncooperative. The food was average at best. I have been in several All inclusive resorts. This one was the worst. I wouldn’t recommend it and definitely won’t return

All things considered this is one of the nicer hotels on San Andres. The staff was excellent! The food, bar service and dining at the hotel is good. The hotel layout and ocean front views are excellent Downtown shopping and dining a short walk from the hotel. Tour activities are nearby. English widely spoken but it helps to have a Translator app on your phone. WIFI is a problem sometimes.

The worst service ever, the phone in the room didn’t work, when you ask for an iron you have 20mins to return it and if you don’t they catch an attitude with you. The food is horrible and the people serving the food had an attitude. The rooms are not clean the the plastic curtain in the bathroom was dirty. Old room and not recommendable.

The property is centrally located and everything is convenient and safe around it. The rooms are on the ocean and we can enjoy the silent sounds of the waves sitting in the balcony.

The condition of the rooms themselves are terrible. Everything is falling apart .. from the doors, blinds, to the attachments in the bathrooms!!

Room service is non-existent and there is no phone in the room to call lobby !! Food is absolutely disgusting and the liquor is cheap and tastes bad .. no wonder it is all inclusive. Do not choose this property for \"all-inclusive\".

The Good: If you happen to get a room facing the ocean, the view is beaufitul.

The Bad: Literally everything. The food is so disgusting that you can barely eat it. There are a few restaurants other than the buffet but they book up within minutes in the morning and the food is as bad as the buffet.

The staff here are the worst I have ever seen at a hotel. They clearly do not care about anything and go out of their way to make things as bad as possible. They have someone with a gas powered mower outside the room at 5AM and if you call and ask them to stop. they will laugh. There was one employee there named Karina who was actually great and helpful, but everyone else was terrible. Would avoid this place.

Decameron should have more staff to facilitate check-in as current staff appear to be overwhelmed at times!

Literally this hotel and resort, was the worst I have ever experienced in my life. I would normally stay at Marriott Properties, but my Colombian girlfriend wanted to Stay in San Andres.
The check in was a literal nightmare. No matter when your plane arrives, you can't check in till late in the Evening. I even offered to pay to get an earlier check in. This fell on ignorant deaf ears. Lobby and buildings are not beautiful by any means. They throw all your bags in a room open to all. Where it can be easily stolen.
The absolute worst part is the All inclusive food, that is barely edible. In the Barracuda restaurant, the Ribs were tough as nails, Rice combination with questionable fish. Steak pimienta with the worst cuts of beef. One day the only thing I could stomach was the fruit and White bean Soup.
I had made a request as this was a special occasion. The hotel gave me Red tape about how it was requested. Customer service was just non-existent. Spa services and Swim up bar are completely closed two years after the pandemic started... completely ridiculous.
The rooms are all small and dirty, hard as Rock bedding, laughably small bathrooms.
It was always loud at night.
In the Thai-style restaurant, I could not even swallow the sushi appetizer it tasted so horrible. The bamboo wok dish was okay, but would have been better with beef instead of chicken.

All in all one of the worst resort stays of my life.

The property is particular because is partially built over and inside the sea, which is spectacular.
The problems are: the size of the rooms, the age of the rooms, the overall maintenance of the hotel which is quite dated.
Food quality and choice is rather poor and must be improved A LOT. Variety of food must be improved.
Internet connection EXTREMELY POOR or nonexistent as well as the signal of the cell phone inside the hotel, it seemed to be in Cuba.

It was quite an adventure...

My Fiance and I went to the San Andres island in Colombia in June 2021. We found out that it's hot but windy all year around and May thru December is the rainy part of the year and rained a lot when we were there but was told November and December is the worst time of the year because of how bad the storms are in those two months.January is the start of the dry season and is the best time to go but it's extra hot.The resort does have the best veiw of the ocean of any hotel and resort on this island, The resort is in the process of being repaired because the resort has been neglected for many years it seems so they are currently repairing rotting wood,painting buildings, repairing rusted metel railing on balconys and painting rooms.The resort is not English friendly and neither is the island but the hotel does have 1 or 2 English speaking people around but good luck in finding them at check in or if issues arrive.The resort is set up nicely inside with beautiful coconut trees everywhere.The resorts food over all was good, breakfast and lunch is the typical Colombian cooked foods with no American type food, dinner reservations are made each morning at 8am at front desk.All the food and drinks all day are part of the all-inclusive including alcohol drinks but the alcohol is not the good grade alcohol.drinks were poorly mixed. The rooms were setup very basic with no WiFi internt in room,no fridge,no ice bucket and no English speaking cable channels but did have AC and hot water.

If you are looking for a resort of western standard this barely cuts it. The check in counter is far removed from the main office and zero english was spoken. In fact they asked me to produce a paper voucher? What place in this day in age requires paper anything. No wifi is provided at the Hotel. Water can not be drank and the shower water is somewhat salinated. It might be all inclusive but do not expect quality anywhere. Low quality beverages and the food at all restaurants was subpar. There might not be many choices on the island which is why this establishment is rated so high, but I highly recommend either not coming to San Andres or staying somewhere else.

Amazing Vacation!

What a beautiful property. The staff was all so nice and welcoming. Everyone went out of their way to help us or recommend things to do. I was nervous after reading some of the reviews on here, but my experience was completely different. Yes, it is an older property, but they doing an amazing job keeping up with it. I cant say enough about their staff. EVERYONE, from management, servers/bartenders, housekeeping & bell hops, were all so helpful and truly made our stay an amazing experience, I didn't want to leave. We checked out the other Decamerons as well and they were all very nice. But this one was by far the best. Its like being in an secluded oasis while inside the property, but your right in the middle of town, so you can walk to the local beach or along the boardwalk and check out some of the awesome restaurants, shops and casinos there. We just absorbed the experience and felt like locals. I will definitely be back and will be bringing all my friends with me.

Disappointing. This place will nickel and dime you for everything! Although they advertise all inclusive you will pay for wifi (that you can only use in the lobby), security box, taxi rides to other Decameron sites. This would be acceptable if it weren't for the shabby condition of the rooms and interior walls of the hotel. The staff is not friendly or attentive. The restaurants, which you reserve a day in advance aren't worth the time you take to make that reservation. The menus are deceptive. Instead of lobster they will serve you a piece of shrimp instead of filet mignon a slice of beef. The water in the room had broken seals. It took days to figure out how to open the door with the key they gave us! It made the trip back to our shabby room a nightmare. It'll sober you up quick! (Which now that I mention it, don't drink the beer. The bartenders drink straight out of the bottle where they serve the guests.) Thank god i didn't break down that shabby door down because who knows what they would've made me pay! Also, the sink almost came out of the bathroom wall. No amount of caulking is going to help just replace it! With that said.. let me give you the pros.. the views are amazing. The hotel rooms sit above the ocean where you can take in the several shades of blue and the fishes that inhabit the beautiful water. The plants and trees are exotic. The property is clean and safe. The activities are fun, they offer paddle boarding, kayaking, snorkeling and boating.

Overall, I had an amazing time staying at this hotel. 4 points rating is for some discomfort that not me but my friends have experienced during our stay. Specifically, we were a group of friends who came to San Andres Island to celebrate our friends wedding anniversary. The ceremony and other wedding services ordered by \"newlyweds\" had to be rearranged due to the laziness of staff and not delivering what was negotiated in the contract. One of our rooms (not mine) had mold, and my friends had to move to another hotel tower. Their dinner reservation system was very strict, you need to wake up super early in the morning in order to make one. Internet service was expensive and even after purchasing one was bad. However, nothing could beat the views from my room (stayed in Tower 7). it was simply mind blowing! Snorkeling right off of the hotel porch - amazing! Music, entertainment, fruits and soups were great! I must say though that it felt like the hotel was overpriced for what it was. It is a solid 3, and maybe a 4, but definitely not a 5 for what you get.

Worst treat than ever, if you like to get ice cream you need to wait until till 12.30, that's ridiculous,, if like chocolate and they have 2. Flavor you need to wait till that one finishes.. if you go to the bar a get a drink you can't use straw, I came back sick because putting my mouth every where.. the hotel pictures when they do promote is just photoshop it really need to be repair, I don't know who give the stars to this hotel because is the worst place that I been.. food is not well elaborate, no to many options, desserts ufff, just choose somewhere else to go

Stay away from this hotel....

This is a very old hotel that has degraded so much that it is impossible for staff to maintain. Rust has surfaced from all metal frames and balconies. The hotel staff is not trained and customer service is practically non-existent. It took 1 hour and 40 minutes to check in. Although the hotel had the Expedia reservation they demanded that a paper copy of the reservation is presented for check-in. The reception had to provide a computer to access the reservation on Expedia and print a paper copy. There was no-where in the hotel instructions that a paper copy is required. The check-in area has rows of seats for the guests to stay in line for check in.
The hotel room was absolutely filthy. There was hair on the pillow, the floor and the bath tub. The shower was missing a shower head (it was installed later).
The room that was reserved through Expedia was a King Size bed with ocean view. Instead I was given a 2 double room with partial view. The hotel does not even have KING SIZE beds. Only queen. After contacting the guest manager they promised to change me room the following day. On the following day they moved my suitcases in the new room. I came back from the beach and asked for a the key to the new room. They said the room was not going to be ready until 4pm and I had no access to my suitcases until that time. A storm came through at the same time. I was caught in my swim suite waiting for the 4 pm hour to get my new room key.
Restaurants could not be reserved.

Check in process was much more complicated than needed. Hotel wanted a voucher that was never provided to me. They had my name and reservation but wanted a piece of paper. After talking to multiple people, ended up printing out the confirmation from my email, which was the same as what I showed them off my phone. For some reason this piece of paper made them happy. Overall, 3 different locations to go to, multiple peiple and much waiting. The room was ok, but the hotel is very dated. The air in the room worked part of the time. Housekeeping at one point took the dirty towels, but left no clean towels. Seemed like this was going to be an ordeal, but after asking 3 times, finally got 2 more towels.

The hotel is too pricey for the service offered.The food is not good at all and you end up eating the same buffet food the whole week.The breakfast has some good stuff only if you wake up at 7am,otherwise not good at all.The beach is good but too small and there is no enough chairs for people to use,unless,again,you get there very early.The room charge you extra for the safe and for the laundry,and the first aid room is only open until 5pm (later than that you have to go to the hospital).Not a good hotel at all for the amount of money they charge you per day, and you can't even have free wifi!!I was really dissapointed,I would never go to a Decameron again.I've been in many all inclusive and this is one of the worst,For the same money I would go to Melia somewhere else.

This hotel is literally falling apart. I knew I was not going a 5 stars hotel, but I was expecting at least the basic quality standards of a well known international hotel chain, like it is the Decameron. The food was decent but the hotel staff didnt look very happy to be working there, at least no to me. It has a very nice ocean view and also acces. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

The equivalent of a 3 star resort inthe Caribbean

If you are used to the wide range of quality resorts available in the Caribbean, then this will be a disappointment.
Facilities, accommodations, staff and food are less than mediocre but to be fair, San Andres really has a long way to go to develop world class tourism infrastructure. The beach and nature certainly is spectacular but the best San Andres can offer in terms of resort accommodations and infrastructure is Decameron and I would say lower your expectations and expect a 2.5 to 3 star resort.

Despite the beautiful location, the hotel and the rooms are in poor condition and certainly not worth what they are being charged for. Late evenings it is frequently very loud - live bands apparently playing to deaf Latino ears.

They don't have a reception like every other hotel

When you arrive you have to provide your personal information in front of all of the other guests, basically, you have to tell your personal business to the hotel receptionist while everyone else listens...that was very ackward and uncomfortable.

There are many better places to visit

In summary, the staff is properly trained to NOT accommodate the guests. Their answer to all requests is NO!
The food is terrible and what is inappropriately called a la carte restaurants leave plenty to be desired. If you want to eat at one of these restaurants be prepared to be up at the crack of dawn to stand in line. The main goal of the service appears to be to discourage guests from consuming too much. The island has its caribbean charm, but there is nothing else to say of the place as a tourist destination.

Great snorkeling but be careful of the buffet!

If you're OK with skipping out on the beach then I would definitely recommend the Aquarium. The snorkeling right off the main pier is incredible! We saw manta rays and over two dozen different kinds of fish, including a barracuda!
The rooms were clean and had nice views. I did get terribly sick for two days because of either the buffet or the a la carte seafood restaurant. The nurse was very helpful though. I would still go back despite getting sick.

Nice Hotel and right on the water.

Had a great time but gauge your expectations for this one. It is not a Ritz Carlton or a Hilton so I would say this is a 3.5 rating from a North American Standards. They are building a NEW De Cameron closer to the beach and downtown so I would wait for that one coming in December of 2013.

Great location but the hotel is very cramped

We arrived to find really bad organisation on check in, we were also given a terrible room looking over a road and a dumpster. After complaining they have us a better room the next day which was great but a little annoying.
The food was good but a bit repetitive in the buffet on a daily basis. Unfortunately if you wanted to attend one of the a la carte restaurants it meant waking up at 7am and queuing for an hour which didn't add to a perfect holiday experience!
The tour office staff were very rude but the your itself was reasonable.
The room cleanliness was reasonable but the cleaner didn't change our bed sheets for 3 days which we found disgusting.

Pleasing hotel

Buffet was decent. Bread, papaya, and rice pudding were great.

Drinks were small, but were made strong occasionally.

We had the perfect room with an ocean view so we got lucky. Not as amazing as your traditional all-inclusive hotel that you would find in Cancun, but this seemed to be one of the best hotels on the island.

Beaches are not at the hotel resort. You have to take a boat to Aquarium beach and Johnny Cay, where drinks and food are not included. Aquarium beach was way too packed. Johnny Cay was somewhat crowded. The seafood was great, service was okay. Beach was amazing - a little rocky but very clear water and white sand.

We flew out from Texas and had an absolute blast. It was 2 friends and I that all split one room. From talking to everyone it is the best of the Decameron hotels. It needs a serious update with the check-in process. They direct you to a separate location with no computers and ask for a voucher. Thankfully I printed out my receipt from Hotels.com. They give you an actual key, if you want an extra key it's a large deposit. The safe is a fee, lots of bull paperwork and extremely antiquated. Internet access is expensive and antiquated. The coffee shop down the street has great wifi! Now for the good, the dinners and the seafood place are amazing. Most of the staff was friendly. Michael and Catalina bartenders were awesome! Great location! Well drinks, so we ended up bringing our own whiskey. This would be a great place if they were to up date it to say 1988 technology!

Don't attend the prison.

I purchased this weekend for my nanny, her sister and her friend. Apparently, the weekend went okay, until they tried to leave the hotel for their trip back home. They were told by the hotel staff that they needed an email from Expedia indicating that I had purchased the wekened for them. In fact the hotel staff lied to me over phone that this was an Expedia policy, rather than a hotel policy. After speaking with Expedia and clarifying that this was the hotel's policy - for who knows why - Expedia got in touch with the hotel and the girls were able to finally leave their hotel prison - barely making the filght home. This took a considerable amount of time; the policy it totallly ridiculous and the lies by the hotel staff were the most disturbing.

Good hotel but need some improvements

The location is great and the hotel exteriors are very nice. The buffet it's good, the restaurants with reservation are better, but you have to wake up at 6.30AM an be in a line for more than an hour to get a reservation. Hotel need to arrange this! Also very strange that an all inclusive hotel that includes all the food, drinks, towels, shows, water sports, doesn't include free internet and free safe box. Finally, staff should be more kindly, they help you, but looks more like than they are making you a favor than trying to bring a good service.

Thw hotel isold and decadent, you can feel the facilities belong to the state and no investments are made.

The personal is rough, Really noise and they do not care about how the customer is. The \"restaurant\" concept is a scam, I had never tasted food ac bad as that.

Will never return to a hotel chain that I would define as cheap and tasteless.

Avoid this All Inclusive!

Avoid all inclusive. Beautiful beaches.
Terrible resort management.
Have you ever thought about having to Wake up every Morning
at 7:00 am to stay in line for an hour everyday to reserve your meal?
Welcome to the Decamaron vacation style! Terrible! They are 50 years behind.
I don't think they know of an online reservation system.
How about tiny glasses for your chilled red wine!
Yeah... They have no wine etiquette either.
How about welcome you with your remote control to your 14\"
20 year old TV?
Just avoid the heavy price tag and don't pick an all inclusive.

Decameron Aquarium is awesome!

Decameron Aquarium was amazing. The rooms are inside a building which is right on the water! It looks amazing. The rooms are average. The bathroom is average. I missed wifi internet very much! That was not good. You can do internet in the lobby but it is expensive. It is best to go outside the hotel and purchase internet minutes nearby. The food was unbelievable. It was impossible to reserve in italian and seafood restaurant but we didnt care. We loved the buffet every day.

Great location service and food. Rooms need some renovation.

Great location near the beach and town. Good food but need more variety. Rooms are ok specially if you get one with view, but need some renovation and improvement on furniture (TV are incredible old). Several restaurants in the hotel to choose and bars at the pool and dock. Cleanliness is perfect and staff are always aware that everything looks great and are very helpful and kind.

Great time!

I didnt find many reviews for this hotel or island from Americans. I had never heard of San Andres or the Decameron Hotel. What I found is that this Island and the hotel was awesome! I did not see another American while I was there. I would recommend having rudamentary Spanish though, as most of the Colombians do not speak English. The hotel was great! The food was good and the. facilities were very clean. I felt completely safe anytime I was within the hotel area.

One of your best -if not the best- option in San Andres

Good location. Great facilities. Clean. Decent food. Limited drinks selection. Sort of expected in a all you can eat/drink setting.

The \"all inclusive\" is a bit a misnomer. Many things, such as, safety box, internet are NOT included and they charge small fees.

No private beaches nearby but the public beach was a hundred yards away and it was okay. It felt quite safe.

The hotel is ok, but an \"all inclusive\" resort ion the caribbean where there is no possibility to have lobster, shrimps, octopus, etc... in the menu everyday so you can choose from?
Will you go to the caribbean and have no sea food?
Of course meat and chicken are cheaper so the buffet was overloaded with meat and chiccken everyday

Upon arrival at the hotel we were put into a room with no running water and a toilet that did not flush. The room was dirty, dusty, smelly and had 2 single beds even tho I had booked a double. After much complaining we were moved to another room in the same building. It was exactly the same as the previous one and nothing worked here either. Complained again and were moved to another building with a double bed. This at least had running water, although it was prone to ceasing mid shower but the toilet did work.. However, the room was just as dirty and smelly as the previous rooms. Foodwise, breakfast was excellent, lunch ok, and dinner mediocre. I cannot understand why they even used a building that was in maintenance and they knew had no water! Unfortunately, due to these issues I would definately not stay there again and can't recommend the hotel to anyone else.

I had a Junior Suite. Price value is excellent!!!!. Tiew asvery nice.The is not room service, but for the price is fine. THe food is ok and the drinks are excellent. The hotel looks fine ,the only think that they should do is to paint the rest of the towers. they look old. People at the hotel was friendly and very helpful.
