A delightful stay in this hotel in Dinard. A short walk from the shops and beach and just above the ferry over to St Malo. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was large with great facilities. Everywhere was very clean. The pool was great. We ate in the restaurant which served superb food with very friendly staff. Would highly recommend this hotel

This five-star hotel absolutely deserves its five stars. I was especially impressed by the excellent service of its staff. The view from my bedroom window was magnificent, and the hotel was well located for walks along coast or into the town. There are two restaurants, the 333 less formal; in both, I ate very well. I would certainly return.

Wonderful weekend break

From the moment we arrived and the valet took our luggage and parked our car, to the moment we (regretfully!) left, we felt so taken care of - and had the most wonderful weekend. The restaurant was amazing - as was the spa - and we were upgraded to a sea view room, which was gorgeous. Thank you so much to all the staff there for our very special stay - we will stay for longer next time!

a little piece of french history

the hotel is amazing overlooking the sea really beautiful. Its old world charm and is just a wonderful place to stay. The service was patchy - bar service was slow and we had to go and collect our own menus or go and get a waiter to take orders - i wouldn't have liked being there if it was busy. The major issue with the hotel is there is no air conditioning and the curtains do not close properly as you are meant to use the shutters - if you close the shutters the room is like a sauna because there is no air conditioning

Beautiful location, lovely hotel

It was a lovely place - we booked a room with a balcony room and view of the sea. It was a real treat. Breakfast was great, as were the spa and gym facilities. It was a perfect location for the coastal walk. The staff were helpful and we enjoyed our stay. There were a couple of things that could be done even better considering the 5 star rating and the price:
1) The room was so small that I could not walk around my side of the bed as it butted right up against the desk
2) The bath was not particularly deep - when staying in a special hotel I like to enjoy a bath
3) There was no ironing board in the room
These are minor details intended to help the hotel, but by no means detracted from what was a fabulous stay!

The staff in this hotel were magnificent, they could not do enough for you and expected nothing in return. The hotel itself was excellent, a little weary in places (stair carpet, easy chairs in the rooms, paint pealing on the window railings) however the facilities were 5 star with regard to the food, restaurant, pool, gym, complimentary electric bikes, ballet parking. The location was excellent with 2 minutes walk to the ferry to St Malo, 5 minute walk to the town centre and 10 minute walk to the beach. Really can't wait to go back. There is something here for all the family.

Dinard is a beautiful town across the bay from St-Malo. The hotel loans bicycles, electric and conventional, great for seeing the coastline. A classic old hotel, we had a balcony on the ocean, great for cocktails and a gorgeous view from the bed! Food was very good and many good restaurants within walking distance.

This hotel is lovely, the staff are friendly and happy to go out of their way to assist you with whatever you need.
The pool was lovely and warm, felt nice and private too being tucked away from the balconies. Our room had a partial sea view and a balcony over looking the gardens, it was Gorgeous sitting out there with a cool drink. My only complaint is that our car which we paid to have the hotel put in a \"secure\" car park was brought back to us covered in bird poo! I thought the hotel would have cleaned this acidic poo off the car before returning it to us.
Other then that everything was perfect!

Lovely stay again at this hotel but have noticed breakfasts and evening meals have become very expensive so we ate out. Vedette tickets now having to pay for, so no perks in staying at this hotel. Next time we may try another hotel which would be a shame.

Lovely hotel close to sea front, town centre, casino and resturants. Rooms nice, beds fabulous, very comfortable. Had a spa treatment which we booked in the day, 90 minutes of relaxation. All the staff were very helpful and bilingual from front desk to valet staff all great at customer service.Only stayed one night, wished we could have stated longer. Would definitely recommend it to others and hope to return at somepoint.

This hotel is indeed grand and sits in a elevated position. The view from the balcony rooms of the bay and St Malo is magnificent. It belongs to the Barrière Group who own the world famous Hotel Royal and Hotel Normandy in Deauville, both 5*
The room and the bed with medium firm mattress are comfortable but the decor is a bit 1980ties with floral carpets and mahogany furniture...
There is a great indoor pool with sunny terrace and garden and again that view.
Meals are delicious and can be enjoyed in the grand restaurant, the service is excellent.
You can walk or use the hotel bicycles around the small hilly town.

We enjoyed our short stay. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was fine, the beds were very comfortable. The room was hot at night even though it was late September and not particularly warm outside. There was no air conditioning but we were able to open a window. It would have been nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room and some bottled water but otherwise it was great.

Excellent hotel. Our free transfer from the airport was waiting, the staff were extremely helpful,and the hotel food for our evening meal was mouth watering. Everything we asked for, and about, was catered for. Our room was small but immaculate, but the only problem was we were in room 328 at the back, and it was very very noisy, so we had no sleep all week. Our fourth night was free, and we were ordered a free taxi back to the aiprort. Have already told everyone I know to go to this lovely hotel.

Reminded me of my childhood stays by the sea.
Charming, helpful staff. Warmly greeted by the reception staff each day.
Food excellent though expensive.
Lovely indoor pool area, though a bit complicated to get to. Tiny spa, but wonderful therapist.
Our room had magnificent view with little balcony, of the bay.
We are trendy 60 year olds and loved it. Also some lovely French families enjoyed it too.
Perhaps not for the uber trendy crowd!

This was a real luxury for us, as it was beyond our normal price range. We were not disappointed. The hotel is indeed grand, with some lovely old features. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable.

After paying the room, we had to go through several 'options' for the stay to be normal (expensive carpak, breakfast...). No water/basic coffee/tea in the room. Dinard isn't Paris or New-York, the price doesn't match the service included (but available in extras).

Friendly and helpful staff. We were warmly welcomed and looked after even though we arrived by bicycle and made their lobby look a bit untidy! We were very kindly offered a bottle of champagne as it was our honeymoon. Room quiet, especially as it was separated from the corridor by a second door between bathroom/toilet and bedroom. Room was quite small and it was a shame there were no tea and coffee making facilities, although we later found this was standard for every hotel we stayed in in Brittany.

I stayed with my 2 children 9 and 11 for one night in Dinard at Hotel Barriere, The staff was extremely friendly, kids were most welcome with many activities planned for them if we had chosen to do them. The experience was lovely and the food at BlueB well prepared and a great value at 9 euros for a kid's entree. I think my 9 years old summarized it best, after the receptionist showed us our room- He told me in his own words that Hotel Barriere was not any hotel, where one would just hand you the key with a recommendation to have fun, but rather a place where the architecture and service made this place special.

Grand hotel Barriere of Dinard - very disapointing

We booked a \"classic room with garden or tennis view\" for 2 days. We were given a small bedroom with a small side window looking over roofs of the neighbourhood. Breakfast was not inluded (20€ per pers), internet and parking was also chargeable (18€ per night for the parking) and otherwise it's impossible to park in the area. Eventualy we found a free car park and our car was damaged overnight. Swimming pool was constantly full of screaming children.

OK if you want to be fussed over - and pay for it

The hotel has excellent facilities, and the staff are very attentive - for me a little too much. The room was as good as I'd expect in a 3* hotel, but no aircon or tea/coffee and rather tired chairs, so a bit disappointing for 5*. And all the things that are so often inluded in cheaper hotels were expensive extras: internet - even at the computers in the lobby, breakfast outrageously priced (breakfasted in the town instead), and parking equally so (parked for free in the street).
For the price of the internet, breakfast and parking I'd expect to get a room thrown in at a discounted 3* hotel!

Average hotel could do a LOT better

Stayed at the Grand Hotel last week but was disappointed in th standard of this hotel.Kept waiting over 45 mins to check in then led to a small , dirty , and very hot room with no air-con.Nowhere to park car , so had to use the extortionate euro 18 a day to park the car at this hotel.Surely should be complimentary?? Ate here on first night but at eur 26 for a club sandwich , which was average at best , certainly did not bother again.Awoken early each morning by hotel delivery staff at 6am .Good location , on the whole staff were attentive(excluding surly receptionist) and has a lot going for it.Extortionate food /drinks prices for what is a best a 3 star hotel.

A luxury treat to recover from travelling...

A real treat if you can get it at a special rate... fluffy white gowns, clean pool, very friendly staff, and a lovely position. Dinard is a beautiful, peaceful place to stay if you have to do the St Malo crossing, and really easy to get to. Be warned, that all extras cost at this hotel!! They charged 18 euros for parking our car for us, (although in a secure compound, so we didn't have to worry about the bikes etc), and local tax also on top. We had breakfast in town, which is a delight... at the hotel it would have been 20 euros each.

Definitiv DAS Hotel im Ort! Wir haben wunderbar geschlafen, super ruhig (auch dank der zweiten Tür (zum Schlafzimmer), tolle Betten, geschmeidige Bettwäsche! Turn down Service am Abend, alles ohne dass man etwas davon mitbekommt (wie es sein soll). Lage ist hervorragend! Direkt mit Blick auf das Wasser und in der Nähe der Anlegestelle nach St. Malo oder Dinan, ebenso zur Shoppingstreet und Restaurants. Valetparking ebenfalls verfügbar, für alle, die mit dem Auto anreisen. Jeder spricht sehr gutes Englisch, manche auch deutsch! Jederzeit wieder!

Chambre dans une extension avec petite fenêtre sans balcon ( photos trompeuses ) ; pas la surface prévue ; agencement alambiqué de la chambre : au total obligé de changer de chambre avec un surclassement facturé !!!! Pas de borne électrique qui fonctionne pour une Audi ; obligé de perdre 2 h pour aller chargé ailleurs et au final parking quand même facturé . Client Barriere depuis de nombreuse année c’est la première fois que je vois une telle médiocrité dans le service ; UN SCANDALE . Je fais remonter mon mécontentement au groupe Barriere Hôtel

Tout était parfait, le seul point négatif a été le bruit à la piscine à cause d'une famille venue avec ses planches de bodyboard, bouées et ballons. Impensable pour cette catégorie d’hôtel,la réception devrait surveiller et faire en sorte que le SPA soit un lieu de détente paisible

Magnifique hôtel dans un cadre splendide

Hôtel 5 étoiles avec toutes les commodités qui vont avec : - personnel toujours disponible, courtois, à l'écoute
- chambres luxueuses,confortables
- nombreuses espaces de détente : piscine, spa, restaurant de l'hôtel, salle de sport, etc
- possibilité de parking, ce qui est un avantage dans Dinard

Le raffinement de l'hôtel, un emplacement privilégié et calme face à la mer.
Des équipements bien pensés pour se détendre dont une terrasse qui surplombe la route et nous donne une superbe vue.
Un personnel au petit soin avec nous.

Séjour agréable, hôtel confortable, petit déjeuner pas à la hauteur d’un 5 étoiles. Pas de buffet, choix limite et service à améliorer.
