Perfect location in the heart of the old town of St Malo. The hotel is luxurious and comfortable, with fairly spacious rooms. The staff was wonderful.

Hotel room was basic but very nice and extremely quiet. It was an easy walk to anywhere in the old town. Only problem was staff lost my reservation for a parking spot, but we worked that out.

We stayed 3 nights. Very nice hotel, front desk staff were all very friendly and helpful, reserved a parking (35 euro daily) in the basement, we had Deluxe room with 2 twin beds, it was pretty new and modern but small ( barely can fit 2 suitcases), can hear rain drop sound from ceiling at night and morning (may be were footsteps). Heater towel warmer rack in the bathroom to dry clothes was great. Our friend had Juior Suite for 25 euro more per night, next time we would choose this kind of the room if we ever go back.

Lots going for it, but..
Nice hotel with very pleasant and capable staff. We were on the top floor, small but modern room with everything needed, basically quiet until neighbours slammed doors and woke us up, we couldn’t sleep after that. Street parking is limited.

Great experience, modern, central, comfy. Rare to find in the inner city, our new go to choice. Minor downsides - only 1 key card per stay possible, can’t adjust the aircon to be cooler (eco hotel given as reason).

Fairly basic for a 4 star but acceptable, if you want to park, you MUST prebook as there is very limited parking. We were lucky but there is very limited parking in St Malo.. the public car parks are not hugely secure and often full at weekends - especially in season. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Very convenient being in the middle of st malo

It may be the best hotel within the walls of St Malo. A bit of an oasis. Hotel room was modern and quiet (August). The ability to park under the hotel was a bonus in a very congested Intra Muros area. We enjoyed the comfortable seating area in front of the hotel that overlooked a quiet square.

This is a 4 star hotel that did not live up to expectations, as far as the room itself was concerned. Abundant use of Formica finishes, in places bubbled and chipped, and its wood effect flooring, gave it the appearance of a 1980s touring caravan. The shower room was basic and with its glass door afforded little privacy. Going to the loo in the night means flooding the bedroom with light. 1) The streets were very narrow and it was a struggle to drive our big SUV rental car.

Tulip was in a PERFECT location, with easy walking distance to anywhere within the St Malo walls. Staff was friendly and exceptional. Only complaints were two: 1. The central AC was FIXED on 22C and would go no lower; and 2. The food was extremely limited. No dinner menu and the appetizer menu was pitiful. However, food was abundant within easy walking distances!

What can I say, the room were large the value was good, the bed was comfortable, and the person who greeted us at the lobby was super friendly and had a welcoming smile. We stayed two nights. The hotel is walkable and the location is far enough away from the hustle of the tourist streets, but if you wanted to get there, it was easy. It can be a little difficult driving in the city, but if you take your time, you’ll be fine

Room was uncomfortable- sparse furniture- only on outdoor patio style chair, very uncomfortable and a large clear plastic device, unclear I table or stool. Doubt it would hold me. One very small nightstand. Other than bed that was it for furnishings. No refrigerator. Toilet was in one very small room with no sink - other side of room from sink and shower. We are mobility limited seniors. We were concerned that as soon as you step into the room, you have to step up for rest of room, risk of falling/tripping, especially at night. There was a very nice restaurant across the small square in another property.

This hotel within the historic walled portion of St Malo was a great place to start our Brittany vacation. Relatively large rooms, very comfortable beds, and nice bathrooms. Walking within the walled city is hilly and over cobblestone streets so those with limited mobility would struggle. Would definitely recommend for those who don’t have physical limitations.

I had never stayed in a golden tulip hotel before, and I was so pleasantly surprised to find such a clean, comfortable, architecturally, pleasant new hotel. The rooms are done very smartly. Only downsides were no refrigerator in room, the bed was a bit firm and the bathroom door was right next to the head of the bed so you cannot use the light at night if you don’t want to wake your partner. Stylish hotel with super-friendly staff. Unfortunately the room facilities don't match the 4 star expectations. We booked a deluxe room for more space and bigger bed, but that was all we got. The shower room and toilet were separate (and at opposite side of the room) which was nice, but there was no sink in the toilet (even though there was plenty of room), so after using the loo, we had to go to the other side of the room to wash our hands! Despite all the floor space, there was just one plasticky chair and a plastic stool. We could have done with a couple of comfy chairs and a coffee table at least. There was no fridge, so the water provided was luke warm. It was obvious the designer was very keen to make the room look nice, but forgot completely about the customer comfort!

Also, I wish there was more breakfast options at the hotel besides the the Eur20 buffet. We found some very tasty, cheaper options in town. However, none of these issues are significant.

Well it was a shock to realise it didn’t have a car park but we found a space at the back of the hotel as there was no where else. There are 6 spaces that can be reserved in advance. Our big problem was that we could not get internet in our room. We needed to go to reception area to get Internet even though on checkin we were told we had free internet in our room. Staff blamed congestion in town. Not good enough. We needed internet for business purposes.
