Good overall - best location to walk easily into Intra Muros. Room was lovely, we had an executive partial sea view. The sea view was much better than I expected. Downside was that the room behind us looked right over our (small) balcony and into our room depending on where they were standing. It was a squeeze to get two people on the balcony but it was lovely to have the option to go outside. The two main things in the room that could have been better was that there were cheap paper cups to drink the coffee from and no glasses to use. Also the fridge was less than useless - a strange slim fridge that could only hold two small bottles of water and did not even keep those cool. We stayed 3 nights and the storage was adequate but we would have struggled for a week as storage very limited. Most of this I could have got over but the main downside for me was the garage. Parking is tight in St Malo in the summer, also we had planned on doing some small furniture shopping so we didn't want to leave the car in a public car park. It costs 22 Eur a night which is bearable for 3 nights but... Firstly you cannot book in advance so you arrive not knowing if you will be able to use the garage. Secondly, it is the tightest garage I have ever been in, with small spaces for the size of the cars and a really odd lay out which made it really difficult to get in any of the spaces. As we were doing our 30 point turn each day it was quite funny to watch new guests arrive and hear their curses

The hotel is renovated everything is new. The location is very good outside the old city on the Cornich along the bay.
They have an inside pool hamam and Jacuzi open untill midnight. The Ocean view is relaxing.

Great hotel less than a few minutes intra-muros

Lovely hotels recently renovated. Have been twice this year and really enjoyed the experience. Rooms are clean and have everything needed. The swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room are a great plus! The staff is very polite, nice and friendly.

Excellent location and within easy walking distance to the old city area of St. Malo. Our room faced the ocean with a beautiful balcony with opening doors - such a fresh option to sleep with doors open and listen to the ocean at night - my happy place!
Staff are super friendly and helpful explaining where to go and what to see.
However, parking was not straightforward and explained. We ended up paying for parking down the street only to notice there is an underground option at the property no one told us about. Bummer.
Also - there are TWO Oceania's on the strip. One is a 3 star and this one - which is a 4 star. We made this mistake!

Very good hotel, lovely staff friendly and helpful, nice breakfast with lots of choice, beautiful views over the beach. Hotel was clean and immaculate. Rooms well stocked with tea coffee water, biscuits, beautiful rituals toiletries, everything you could need, dressing gowns and slippers provided. Couldn’t fault it - the swimming pool and jacuzzi tub was lovely , plenty of towels and loungers to relax. My only complaint is that the bar was closed throughout our stay, but there is plenty of places to get drinks nearby, if the bar was open it would have been near enough a perfect stay.

Very good hotel, although the corridors had a musty smell. I’m told it is being refurbished this winter.
Room was good with good air conditioning. Looked at the breakfast offering but didn’t bother at 20 euros each. Parking underneath was worthwhile as it is a nightmare trying to park in St Malo at this time of year.

It was very windy, sounding like the balcony door was open, and made the fittings in the room squeak and rattle, which was slightly alarming (and annoying). Good location, close to old town.

Long weekend stay

Visited St Malo for a long weekend break and after looking at various hotels we decided to choose the Hotel Oceania. The hotel is in an excellent location and the service and standard of hotel was very good. Hotel car park was closed when we arrived but the parking on the street around the hotel was easy and for 3.60 Euros per day it is much lower then hotel price. The only thing with the room that we were disappointed with is the beds, they were too firm for us. Did not use the breakfast as there are plenty of places to eat in St Malo.

This hotel is perfectly situated for exploring the walled city if St Malo. It is spacious, spotless and right opposite the sea. I even had a sea glimpse from our room which was at the side.
The bed was VAST!
It also has a lovely bar with outside seating where you can watch the sun set into the ocean.
All the staff were very pleasant and keen to make sure we were enjoying ourselves

Beautiful Hotel on the inside, the customer service is of high standard and rooms are spotless, the Evasion room was stunning with 3 tvs to choose from shower and separate jet bath with built in tv, the hotel is literally 3 minutes walk from the st. Malo walls.
Luckily we had great weather and the views are fantastic specially during sunrise and sunset.
Slightly disappointed that the hot tub was out of action and although the evasion room is very nice its slightly overpriced.

We booked a room with a sea view and the view across the beaches and to the old town from the balcony was fabulous. Having driven all day from the Dordogne, the check-in was quick and efficient and the staff helpful. No restaurant at the hotel but plenty nearby and we had the best meal over the course of our two week trip at the restaurant next door (La Table d'Henri). A bar was available in the hotel for drinks and an impressive buffet breakfast choice available in the hotel the next day although at extra cost.

Perfect spot for a St Malo visit

We were in St Malo for 3 days and wanted somewhere close to the Intra Muros but with a sea view....this is the place. A 3-4 minute stroll along the promenade and you are at the gates to the walled town. Our room ( 301) was at the end of the 3rd floor with a balcony overlooking the beach.
The only niggles we had were housekeeping not replacing the hand towel in the (separate toilet), a failure to always replace cream for coffee and not replacing a broken dispenser for hand wash in the bathroom ( even though I left it disassembled to show it was broken....it was just put back together...but still did not work). Minor issues in the scheme of things, but unnecessary.
The staff in reception, at breakfast and in the bar were friendly and bilingual for non French speakers.
A fair price for the room. Breakfast was €15 pppd. It was buffet style and adequate. A nice touch was no signing for breakfast. It was settled on an “honesty” basis at checkout.
We will go back when in St Malo again.

Emailed hotel twice to see if I could book parking as we were travelling to France for our daughter’s wedding and were bringing the dress, bridesmaids outfit and grooms suit. There was no response! We turned up to find all streets around hotel were closed and there was no parking. The staff could not have been more unfriendly or unhelpful! I single handedly had to offload all our luggage while my husband had to drive off to find underground parking. Reverse situation the next morning! Would definitely not stay again.

Hotel is very well located righ on the seafront across from the Fort National presqu-ile, and two blocks away from the old city of Saint Malo. Very good location to walk the beach and quick access to shops and restaurants in the old city. . It is comfortable and the staff was very courteous and accommodating. One problem: parking. Reserve a spot with the hotel when making your reservation. Finding a spot on the streets in that part of town is really difficult. We had to park at a public parking lot about 7 blocks away, and we were told wwe were lucky to find a spot. .

perfect stay in St. Malo

We booked the last available room. The hotel is in the perfect location for almost everything, the old town, the beach and the ferry terminal. I left my iPad behind when we got on the boat back to England. We called the hotel immediately. The staff (Ms. Sabrina) found it and agreed to post it when she finished her shift. Very good service, polite staffs and the hotel is very clean and tidy. Highly recommended and we will be back to the same hotel too.

Immaculate hotel near all the sites. Very clean, modern and well kept. Didn't eat here as there's so many choices nearby for food. Only downside was the parking was fully booked, but there's parking (paid but not expensive over the weekend) nearby (half kilometre or so), and not getting a sea view (we knew when booking). Friendly helpful staff, the girl at checkout was the only one across all the hotels on our holiday who actually asked us how our stay was.

5 minute stroll into the old walled city.

Really enjoyed my stay as this hotel is so handy to the old walled city. The old walled city can at times get very crowded and it was nice to leave the hustle and bustle of the old walled city behind me as I walked back to my hotel. Amazing sea views with the beach right across the road. This hotel is in good condition and very comfortable. The staff are so incredibly friendly and helpful and checking in and out was easy. I would highly recommend this property

Nice hotel. Excellent location. A plus is parking under the hotel (book the parking in advance!).

Easy walk to the best sights in Saint-Malo. Quiet and comfortable. Staff was excellent. Front desk very helpful.

Only complaint is that the internet service was by far the worst we've had to deal with all across Europe. I think they must be using dial-up. Slow, unreliable, finicky to maintain a connection.

For a hotel that is otherwise excellent, this really needs to be addressed.

We loved the location and it was worth the extra cost choosing the sea view room with balcony. The staff were superb and helped resolve a conflict at checkin when we were assigned a room different than what we expected. Very clean and good use of space (luggage racks). Town center only minutes away. There was no longer any hotel parking available when we arrived but it's easy (and cheaper) to park on any street.

Modern hotel on St-Malo waterfront one side, and Port of St-Malo on the other. Room and hotel were clean. The rooms have modern glassed-in, open-concept bathrooms, which I don't like for lack of privacy. Old St-Malo \"intra muros\" is fabulously rich in history and definitely worth visiting.

Good hotel with great sea views.

Lovely hotel and great sea views from some rooms. Our room had a balcony and a perfect view of the sea, which is why we chose the hotel. Balcony screens (separating the balconies) are glass, so not very private - but that was Ok. Also if weather is not so good the wind seems to flow down the balconies and can be a bit noisy. That aside, the room was lovely, very clean and with good facilities (tv, coffee machine, good shower (no bath)). Breakfast (at an extra charge) was good quality. The hotel has a nice lounge bar overlooking the sea, but doesn't have a restaurant - but as there are many restaurants all around the hotel it wasn't needed. Overall, the best things were: excellent staff (helpful and friendly), the location of the hotel (on the seafront and near the vibrant old town) and the sea view from the room. We would happily stay there again.

On the beach and minutes from the walled city

Great stay. I didn't get a sea view bedroom but the bar and restaurant area do have fantastic views over the bay. Breakfast at the weekend was a bit over-crowded in the restaurant. The hotel feels like it's recently been refurbished, both in the rooms and the public spaces. My room looked out to the rear of the hotel, direct onto a road and a quayside area. No problem there - there was virtually no traffic noise due to the double or triple-glazed windows - but the outer walls are floor-to-ceiling glass with no net curtains. If you want privacy you have to shut the curtains, which blacks the room out entirely. Frosting of the glass to about 1.2 metres would be a great idea. The closeness to the sands of the bay is a key attraction but the hotel is only 3-4 minutes' walk from the old city. There are a mass of cafes, brasseries and creperies. I recommend strolling around the town and not just sticking to the restaurants in the main tourist area. A walk around the city ramparts is a great way to orient yourself to the town.
