Nice hotel in lovely town

Only issue we really had was with parking and charging electric car. As we were on holiday we had a roofbox on. Although I did reserve a parking spot, I was not informed about a 1.85 Metre height restriction on the parking. We had to find our own parking and could not charge our car overnight.

We really enjoyed our stay. Staff were really friendly, family room on 5th floor with a sea view was fantastic! Beach, restaurants, coffee shops etc. were just a few steps away. Would definitely recommend!

Really helpful friendly staff, excellent proximity to the beach and 15 minute walk into walled city area. We were given a very early check in, as our room was ready on arrival in the morning. Nice quiet room with sea view, so couldn’t be happier with our stay!

Loft room was great for the kids. Beach across the road. 15 min walk to Intramuros. Street parking is free. Breakfast was wonderful especially the Malo yoghurt. Could do with a bar fridge and more storage. The mirror/wardrobe was awkward. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Walking distance to old town.
We were able to upgrade our room, had a sea view. Could also see the old town.
Room very clean, spacious. Just needed a fridge to keep drinks like water cold.

We stayed on the fifth (top) floor with a nice view of the ocean across the street. It’s within walking distance to the downtown and many restaurants. The breakfast was diverse and sufficient, the room was clean. The bathroom was small but not the smallest in Europe. Our daughter had the loft which had two singles and room for luggage and clothes. Although the stairs are closer to being a ladder. The parking in the underground was really really tight and required a lot of maneuvering and neighborly consideration and caution to avoid denting vehicles.

The hotel was nice and it is within a walkable distance from the old town. It is near the beach and various restaurants l. The staff was friendly and hotel was clean. The only problem is that the hotel says it offers parking. When we arrived there, the hotel staff said the parking is full. When i told her that it listed on the website offers parking and her response is “it is always full in August!” If that is the case, don’t bother to say it is available.

Very lucky in that I was zombie like after an overnight bus trip and was able to access the room very early.
Now, we all accept that the allowed time is 3pm, but at this hotel they take a personal approach. The room was ready and they saw no reason why I should wait.
This is a big thing as it was their approach throughout my stay.

Nice hotel directly on the beach, walkable to St Malo walled town (about 15-20 min walk). Family room has a loft with 2 twin beds but the stairs are narrow and steep so a bit scary to have the kids walk down at night should they need to use the bathroom which is downstairs. Also absolutely impossible to cool down the loft space - no A/C vents up there, so no matter how cold you make it, the cold air doesn’t reach the loft. The only way to cool the upstairs area is to open the skylight assuming the air outside is not too hot and that you can sleep when the sun shines through it in the morning. We asked the reception for a fan but were told they didn’t have any suitable ones.

They tried to charge me twice even though the room was prepaid. Check in was lengthy and they asked for my card and ask for 200 euros pre authorisation even though the room was paid. During check out they tried to charge us for breakfast even though we did not have it.
Rooms were too small as well as bathroom. Too expensive hotel for the quality of the room and staff. Note staff only speak French.

This is a very good three star hotel. The employees were extremely nice and helpful. The hotel is located about a 10 minute walk from intra- Muros, the proper walled city of St Malo, but it is a beautiful walk overlooking the ocean. The hotel has bicycles to rent at a very reasonable rate, which makes for an unforgettable experience. There are several restaurants close by, though we did not try them as we always ate (very well!) inside the walled city. The room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was great. Highly recommend this property.

The location was great- just across the boardwalk- perfect if you want to watch the sunset. Breakfast was good- great variety. The shower was the highlight of the room!:) so big, and practical. Having the free luggage storage was a huge plus. The staff was very helpful ! I highly recommend!

Great family room with a mezzanine but the stairs and very steep and slippy, so not good for small children.
Room was clean and had some space, bathroom and toilet functional. We also pre booked the underground car park - which was ok just with a roof box.
Breakfast was fine, first day it was busy and we ended up on an overflow room but offering was the same.
All round very good position in the town and great hotel. But be very careful on those stairs!

Stayed for 2 nights whilst visiting St Malo. Contacted the hotel a few days before and reserved a space in their car park so it made everything very easy. Check in was fast and friendly. Hotel is 10 minutes walk from the old city right on the sea front. A great location. Room was fab (305) with great views. Highly recommend.

What a view

Very nice little hotel right on the beach 1 km away from the walled old town area. Looks recently refurbished, everything was sparkling, clean and new. We had a 3-4 person room on the 5th floor, the extra sleeping area is actually on a mezzanine, so the room is quite large by French standards. Our room was facing the sea so the view was outstanding. The shower was very good and the wifi slow but adequate for emails. We did not have breakfast there and the nearest bakery is not so close, so we would think again about that. Parking is either on the street (free) or in the hotel ($$), we did not have any problems finding parking on the street nearby. Would definitely stay there again.

This is a nice, clean and comfortable hotel with great service. The staff were absolutely lovely and the breakfast was delicious. We really enjoyed our stay. Although a little distance from the intra muros, the beach location was just lovely and we enjoyed a beautiful walk along the promenade in the morning. A kettle in the room would be great.

Convenient for a stopover when catching the Ferry

A lovely beach in St Malo just across from the hotel. Really friendly reception and upgrade to interconnected rooms. Clean hotel and good breakfast - perhaps the rooms could have been bigger but excellent for the price.

Despite the 3pm check-in time, the room did not become available until 3.40pm. We were told that since we did not reserve a parking place, there wasn’t any! We were directed to a car park which was quite a walk away. The restaurant could best be described as a snack bar.
On the positive side, we were upgraded to room with a sea view (clearly feeling that asking ‘senior citizens’ to park a hike away needed some good news). The hotel was well situated for the beach and old town, was clean and comfortable and had a lift.

Perfect location. Sea view amazing. Gets the sun in the afternoon , evening. Very clean. Huge bed. Great black our curtains which made us sleep longer - exactly what we needed , a good rest. Great shower - string water pressure and lots of room. Seperate toilet - always handy Very quiet. Nice garden and reception seating area. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Didn’t eat here as far too many places to explore in the area. Though we didn’t need - parking in the basement

Decent choice at breakfast for type of hotel though same each morning. Right on the sea front with a good expanse of sand when tide is out. Rooms are not huge but beds are and we found comfy. This was our second visit and would stay again.

What an idyllic location!

Having stayed at Escale Oceania, St. Malo, last year we knew what to expect and were not disappointed! We were there just for one night before catching the ferry back to England but it was, again, superb. On arrival, we asked to change our room because having 2 adjoining was not practical with my 2 very small grandchildren. The change to a two-tier family room was effected quickly, with friendliness and understanding.
The renovation/decoration work that has been carried out is most pleasing. The very sensible idea of having open shelving instead of drawers is excellent and will avoid our experience of last year when we accidentally left a very sentimental item in a drawer! (Needless to say, the staff packaged this and forwarded it by secure mail upon receiving our call!)
