The hotel is located on the seafront and has outstanding views over the sea. It is an 15 minute walk to the old town. Our prestige room was quite well equipped but rather tired. The decor belonged in the 1980s. Cleanliness could have been better. There is a bright breakfast area and the choices on offer were very good.

The sheets were not changed when we checked in, but the bed was made. Additionally carpet not vacuumed. Bed was not firm. Hotel overall was nice but could use some double checking after housecleaning.

Hotel is just minutes from the ferry port by taxi and the boardwalk along the beach is within walking distance. Waterfront view from the breakfast room is gorgeous. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Property is undergoing renovation to make entry more wheelchair accessible, but side entry is quite navigable.

Just an overnight stay, but perfectly good and close to st Malo for a night out. Right on the beach and lots of street parking around. We didn't eat here so we can't comment on the food. Comfy bed, large room, bathroom a bit dated with a very small shower, but all perfectly ok for the price

We stayed in a triple room for two nights. The room was comfortable for 3 people. It seemed newly renovated and bedding and linen was in good condition. We left some of our luggage here overnight when we travelled to Jersey and Guernsey. The location is close to the walled city of St Malo and the promenade is across the street. Recommend taking advantage of the hotel breakfast as breakfast in the walled city is more expensive.

Wonderful Hotel in All Respects!

I loved my 2 night stay.

I upgraded to get a room with full sea view having stayed at other hotels booked through Hotels.com that had offered no view. The upgrade was worth it.

My room was very clean, comfortable and was well and tastefully furnished. It had tea/coffee making facilities. The optional buffet breakfast was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. The reception staff also spoke excellent English

Hotel was excellent - very friendly service lovely breakfast (didn't expect the sausage, egg and bacon alongside the croissants and pastries and cereal)

Shower was powerful and warm - double bonuses on other places!!

Great position on the sea front, pleasant stroll along the promenade to the old town for a spot of dining Intra Muros. Probably a bit too much furniture for the size of room, less would be more. Breakfast was good, staff very helpful and polite. Only downside is the lack of bespoke parking, but that would not stop us staying here again as we really liked it.

We enjoyed this hotel. It was a good walk away from the old city but we planned for that as we were picking up a car. Pls don't walk to this hotel from the ferry. We did and it was way too far. Everything was lovely.

We were in St Malo for just a night but liked the town very much. The Mercure was very nice - exactly as billed. The bed was comfortable, bathroom well fitted. A bit on the small side but still plenty comfy. We would have been OK for 2 nights but probably would have started feeling claustrophobic after that! The staff was friendly and helpful - their French was better than our English and they had no problems flipping back and forth between languages to allow us a chance to practice.

Very good hotel with nice view

The hotel was conveniently located along the seaside. We booked a room with seaview which provides a very impressive view on the seafront. It was closed to the major tourist area, just within 5 minute walk with a lot of restaurants.
The hotel is very modern and room is pretty and clean. There is no parking in the hotel but can park on the street anywhere around the hotel. It did not create any problem to us.
Receptionists speak very good English and is very helpful and informative.
It is very good hotel for short stay at reasonable price. Highly recommended.

The information for the internet in the room was not correct.(on the card) I had to talk to the staff twice to get the correct login information.
There was no milk for the tea, and only two! Small cream which was horrible, even in the coffee Not enough tea bags only one each. The room was clean, a good bright bathroom, very good slection of tv programs. The cleaner was very polite all credit to them.

Easy, short walk to centre.

Stayed here for one Sunday night on way back to ferry from Ile de Re. We were able to find a parking space right outside the hotel door so didn't pay for parking. Our bikes were safely stored in a courtyard for free within the hotel. Room 215 is at the back of the hotel. It was quiet at night. Beds comfortable. Kettle in room. Paid for breakfast - good choice of food. The location is great - just a short walk along the sea front to walled part of town.

Warm welcome, clean and well air conditioned room. Great fish restaurant nearby. Easy walk to old town and beach and only 5 mins drive to Ferry terminal.
- No exclusive parking, so had to hunt for a place in nearby streets. Door connected to next room so felt self conscious , luckily no disturbance from neighbours at night.

We have stayed in many hotels in St Malo but this one was the nicest hotel. We arrived early for the check-in and fortunately our room was ready which was a plus. The staff were attentive but not intrusive. The breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice - a little expensive if you don't take advantage of the choices. On leaving we had some time to spare before we caught the ferry and were able to chill in their lounge. We were given a complimentary coffee while we waited. Would definitely stay their again

The staff were rude and treated us like we were 2nd class because we didn't book directly with their hotel. We were given a cheap room. The \"restaurant/bar\" food was horrible and the service was poor. This hotel is not in the same class as other Mercure Hotels at which we have stayed. On this trip, our stay at Mecure Tours Nord was a dream and St Malo was a nightmare. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!

Convenient for the ferry

This is an excellent hotel. The staff are very friendly and the room was spacious and clean. The bed was very comfy. The shower cubicle actually had a soapdish - something we've found to be a rarety on our travels. The only problem is parking in the vicinity. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon about 3 p.m. and I think lots of local people were in St Malo for the beach at the time we arrived as all the nearby parking spaces were full and we had to park about half a mile away. In the evening we were able to move the car closer to the hotel. We were only in St Malo for one night as we had spent most of our time in France in the Dordogne. This hotel is very convenient for the ferry terminal and was a pleasant place to spend the last night of our holiday, being an easy walk to all the attractions of the old town.

I loved the beach front location, and appreciated that staff informed us (for parking purposes) of a marathon being run in front of the hotel the next day. Wish this hotel and others would come up with a cheap 5 E breakfast. STaff helpful.

Low, slanted ceilings make for cramped quarters

The ceiling was incredibly slanted and we couldn't even use the second bed because any person would have hit their head standing up. One of us couldn't even use the shower because it slanted so much he couldn't get his head under the shower head. When we asked to switch rooms, they wouldn't let us. The view was also not great because the window was on the slanted roof, so the angle was terrible for enjoying the oceanfront.

It might have been okay if we hadn't been on the fourth floor, but in general we did not sleep well.

We had previously stayed at the Ibis up the road and decided to try a different hotel and one that was a little closer to the shops & restaurants. Got a great price and our stay was very enjoyable. Lovely sized rooms, clean and fresh, within a 5-10 minute walk to all the bars, restaurants and shops (this hotel does not have its own restaurant) Parking was easy outside the hotel or you can pay to park - probably best in busier seasons. Would definately stay there again

A good all round hotel

Right on the beach and easy walking distance from the town this hotel was a great alternative to some of the cramped and slightly rundown hotels within the city walls we have used on previous visits. We had an inner room and although we had no view it was nice and quiet. I suspect rooms overlooking the bay may suffer with traffic noise from the busy road below.

The hotel was nice and well kept. My biggest complaint is that even though our room was non-smoking, you would get strong wiffs of smoke coming into the room whenever someone smoked outside in the courtyard our room looked out onto. We tried to order room service since it was storming like crazy outside the night we stayed, and they were out of everything that we wanted. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful for our stay.

Very happy with our stay.

We stayed one night in St Malo and the Mecure hotel was just what we needed after a very rough sea crossing from Portsmouth. We arrived tired and grubby and left feeling rested, revived and ready for our trip to Mont St Michel the next day.

The hotel is peaceful and spotlessley clean. The whole room, and especially the bathroom, seemed to be newly refurbihsed and very comfortable with everything we needed for a one night stay. I am a light sleeper but I had an undisbturbed night's sleep followed by a very good continental breakfast for 8 euros (excellent value for money).

The hotel is located on the seafront with plenty of free parking in nearby streets (bearing in mind we stayed in April, I can imagine parking in summer months may not be quite so easily available). The sandy beach and emerald sea are beautiful and the location of the hotel its great for people like us who love to take long walks along the beach.

The historic city is about a 10 mins walk away and well worth a visit with its ramparts, winding streets and huge choice of restaurants and shops.

The staff at the Mecure were very friendly, helpful and happy to speak in English.

For a comfortable stay in a modern hotel I would highly recommend the Mecure.

This was a really good hotel. We had a lovely stay for 2 nights in winter. The hotel was warm, spacious and comfortable. The staff were helpful with organizing taxis and helping us figure out how to get to Mont St Michel for the day. The hotel was directly on the beach, which is beautiful in winter. It was well priced for what you got. We did not have breakfast however, as 14 euro was out of our budget! I would recommended staying in Mercure St Malo for 3 or more nights as there is lots to see and many day trips to do.

My husband stayed at this hotel , as he had to come back to get our dog whos passport wasnt right when we visited Fraance a few months before. He said the hotel was wonderful and had a brilliant view. He was on bed and breakfast and said the food was good. The staff on reception went out of their way to help him with regards to getting the dog back from where he was staying. He cant praise the staff enough and will be staying at this hotel again.

This hotel is a very enjoyable 10 minute strole to the old city and all that it offers by way of shops, cafes and restaurants. The staff at the hotel were very knowledgable and went out of their way to be of assistance. We had a bar meal there on the night we arrived and were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Woodie, one of the reception staff also recommended several restaurants nearby for a seafood dinner and the one we ate at, the Sillon, was excellent. I would definitely recommend the Mercure as a great place to stay in St Marlo.

Hotel is clean, staff are friendly. It took us just 10 mins to walk to the walled town of St Malo. It is right on the beach in a quiet residential part of town. Very convenient as it can get quite noisy in town! Breakfast was 14 euros which we decided not to have as thats a bit steep! Coffee and tea in the rooms.
I easily parked in a side street just opposite the side entrance to the Hotel - it is unlimited parking.
