Functional clean room with a comfortable bed and a walk in shower. For an overnight stay and an early morning getaway it was ideal. About a 15/20 minute walk into the walled city of St Malo.

Very very very small room for 3 people. Only one pillow and one bath towel per person, no hand towels. Toilet and sink smelled like urine, bit over all the room was clean.
Breakfast was good enough.
15 minute walk to a local train station, 25-minute walk to Intra Muros, 10-minute walk to local Carrefour store. No restaurants nearby.

For a budget hotel, it’s fine in terms of value for money and location.
They can certainly improve breakfast menu and availability of all items until the last guest. We went late one day and half of the items were already finished 😔

we turned up at hotel it was closed due to major brake downdown so had to book in ibis hotel in village at 110 euros a night we had paid 55euros to stop there we are pensioners and have very little money very sad end to holiday after traveling all that way there there was sign on door but very had to read and made no sense pleaase contact me to sort this out dave

Wouldn’t be first choice next time

This was a one night stopover and we’re glad it wasn’t any longer. The hotel is definitely ‘budget’ although we did pay £150 for a family room with bfast and parking so not really cheap. The rooms are tired, AC old & noisy, bathroom very small & not the cleanest. Staff were friendly & helpful.

One night in St Malo

Parking was a challenge but the breakfast was wonderful.
Also there were very little places to eat nearby so we had a salad from the petrol station nearby. There is machine in the lobby of the hotel that you can get a meal from that you can microwave but the person who checked us in didn't tell us and we didn't find it until the next morning

Ibis hotel corresponds to offer what you expect from it. The rooms are enough for a short stay, the bathroom is spacious and clean.

While the staff were friendly (except for one lady at the front desk) the Hotel was just Too Cheap With no comfort. The rooms all have a bunk bed which is odd. The mattress is the cheapest on the market, scratchy but clean bedding, cheapest small thin, rough towels and for two people only two towels and two small tiny thin pillows. The rooms are a drab ugly green and the hall carpets really heavily stained and need replacing. Across from the hospital but NOTHING else nearby. It’s a long ugly walk to Actually get to Saint-Malo and apparently taxis don’t like to service that area we were told so we walked to and from town every trip for five days. It is not at all worth staying here. The breakfast was fine for most, the gentleman working was I very friendly and helpful. I’m celiac so not many options but that’s always the way. C’est La Vie!
Why a budget hotel has to be extremely uncomfortable is strange, it should be comfortable but small without frills. I would not stay here or recommend it.

A basic hotel that was clean and tidy, the breakfast was pleasant in a bright clean room. The hotel was a short walk from Saint-Malo, but we are happy with this. We paid for secure parking, and this was across the street in a small but large spaced carpark.
Saint-Malo, is a lovely place to visit and wander around.

Good budget choice in Saint-Malo. 20 mins walk max. to port or railway station, 30 mins max. to old town. Extremely clean, comfortable room with working wifi and hot shower. Very helpful staff and vending machines available for snacks. Would stay here again.

Appear to be double charged - once by Expedia and again at the hotel front desk. An Expedia investigation is pending and I should hear back in a few hours about my refund.
Toilet wasn’t cleaned properly upon arrival.
Small car park outside hotel was full so I had to park in car park 5-10 min walk away.
Hotel does not serve alcohol.
Noisy road next door.

A conventional budget hotel. Checkin was quick and efficient. They don't give room keys, just codes for the door (which was a pain if you forget the code, but also nice not to have to carry a key). Room was bright, modern, clean and quiet. We had our young daughter with us, and the room was a bunk bed for her above us which she loved. Free parking, but we never found a free space (although we did find a free spot right next to the hotel anyway). Fairly good breakfast buffet was extra but good value. Not that close to the old walled city, but fairly easy to reach, as was the ferry terminal. Definitely good value for the money.

Very small but clean Ibis Budget room as expected. Comfortable bed. Parking was a couple streets away in a free outdoor public parking lot, but we had to first go into the lobby to find where to park. It's about a 20 minute walk to the walled city, but a public bus is also available. There were a few restaurants nearby.

Worth paying more to be closer to town

Hotel itself is fine except it's the first I've ever come across that doesn't provide a kettle in the room. Staff were nice and welcoming but it's definately worth parting with a bit more money to be nearer the centre of St Malo so you don't have to walk along busy roads in industrial areas to get to the town.

Room looked out onto the hospital and as it was really hot (the room didn't have any air conditioning) we needed the window open at night - there were lots of ambulances coming to and fro so it was quite noisy.

We did choose a cheap hotel with parking - next time I'd opt for more expense to be at the heart of things.

We were looking for overnight accomodation before our Ferry trip and this was the cheapest hotel option. Very basic but had all we needed. Staff very friendly and a small walk to get something to eat and the beach front. If you are not worried about a sea view or a hot breakfast then this certainly works.

The train station was only about 10 minutes away, which us what we needed. The room was clean, shower was great, even had a bathtub if you like baths. It was a little far from the Walled City, but we walked anyway. It took ys about 25 minutes to walk it, and we didn't mind it at all. The Walled City was nice, and so was our stay at your Hotel. As an overnight stay this hotel is fine We were given the disabled room as travelling with elderly relative. Clean and modern, excellent bathroom and beds, wifi and TV. No extra comforts so if you want comfy chairs to sit in the wrong place for you. There is a Pizza place nearby and the vending machine has coffee/tea and snacks.

Stayed in a triple room, to have more space. However, the third bed is a single bunk bed located crossways above the double bed and my wife, in the night, forgot that the bunk bed was there and walked straight into it, when getting back into the double bed below. She consequently had a very sore head the next day! Otherwise, room clean, very basic, bed comfortable, very little soundproofing. TV only has French channels. Price for room very reasonable so would stay again, but not in a triple room!

Convenient for Car Ferry

The hotel is conveniently close to the Car Ferry Port. It included parking, but the immediate area was not explored, though we were interested in eating in the 'old town'. It took us about 20 minutes to walk to the latter. We were offered breakfast at the hotel, but as we had an early sailing to Jersey, we decided to defer until we got there.
The bed was firm, not too uncomfortable, but would have benefitted from extra pillows.

Convenient for the ferry... only 3 minutes away.

A lovely welcome from the staff. About 20 minutes to walk to the walled city and a three minute drive from the ferry terminal.
The price at this Ibis on a bank holiday night in August was a quarter of the price charged by the Ibis inside the walled city!!

Stayed at Ibis Budget en-route to ferry crossing to Portsmouth. Easy to find (with satnav)and hotel staff very welcoming and informative.

Parking is a problem as there are limited places in/around the Hotel. The hotel is what it is advertised as \"Budget\" and would only be used for stopover with a maximum of 2 days.

Room was comfortable, breakfast was excellent and hotel offered basic snacks/drinks from a machine which was adequate for our requirements.

All in all a good stay and would use again and recommend to friends on same route!

Convenient one night stay

The hotel is within walking distance of the Intra-muros and very close to the ferry port. The private garage is a plus when your car is laden with purchases! Staff were very pleasant, and breakfast was OK. The bed was on the hard side, and the bathroom design was crazy! The loo was cramped into one corner and the over-bath shower was dangerously slippery. Good for a one-night stopover before getting the ferry.
