Awful!

My wife and I had stayed at the Brit Hotel a few times, the last being 6 years ago.
We had booked our room in June, in good time for our visit on the 18th September. My wife is disabled, and I notified the hotel at the time of booking, that she was a wheelchair user, and that we would need an accessible room. We didn’t revive a reply. It was only a couple of days before we were due to arrive did I realise that I hadn’t received confirmation that we would have a suitable room, I therefore messaged the hotel twice using their online form, asking if our room was accessible, with a suitable walk in shower.
Again, no reply.
After an 8 hour drive, we arrived at the hotel and on checking in,we were handed the key to room 202, but before going to the room, i asked if could book a table in the restaurant. We were told that the restaurant was full and they couldn’t find us a table at all.
Annoyed, we proceeded to our room, which was quite dingy, with a separate toilet, the door of which could only be opened at 45⁰, as it caught on the handle of the making it difficult to get into. The bathroom had a bath with a shower over, which meant that my wife was unable to have a shower.
The only good things about the hotel, were a comfortable bed, although only one pillow each was provided, and it’s close proximity to the Ferry Port.
This claims to be 3 Star, but added to everything else, not even tea and coffee making facilities.
I wouldn’t award 2 Stars, and certainly won’t be staying there a

This property turned out to be a large hotel near a highway. It caters two buses of tourists, so the restaurant wasn’t available because it was full. The rooms were lovely, however. Being on the edge of town meant that it was hard to walk to any nice restaurants, although we found a wonderful Asian buffet, Mongolian barbecue restaurant nearby.

Overnight stay for ferry

I was travelling back to St Malo from a trip in the south of France so this was the PERFECT location to stop overnight so I could catch a ferry in the morning. Hotel staff were very polite and the room was clean albeit was outdated and toilet was in separate room to wash basin. Overall though I was very satisfied with my stay. Thank you!

It might not be a holiday destination hotel but for an early morning or late evening ferry departure it’s great with a convenient transit location on the main ring road roundabout.

Very warm welcome and departure even at anti-social hours and spotless bedroom with comfortable bed.

It’s not 5 star, but for the price you couldn’t ask for more.

Very disappointing. I travelled with an elderly relative who has very limited mobility. I booked a room with roll in shower for her as she cannot climb into a bath and I informed the hotel that this was for a disabled person with very limited mobility. The room was advertised as available at the time of booking. On arrival she was allocated a room with bath. I explained that this was not acceptable but I was told that nothing else was available. I then asked about a reservation for the restaurant, only to be told it was fully booked. I had chosen this hotel as it had a restaurant and so would not have to go searching for restaurants with my disabled relative. I asked the receptionist if he could fit us in, even at an earlier or later time but the answer remained no. The rooms are basic and lacked facilities, but the price was much higher than budget accommodation available locally I would have given 1 star for this review but the recetionist did offer us a free drink to say sorry for the problems, which was better than nothing, but I will not stay at a Brit Hotel again.

Very disappointed with room. Nothing like photos. Very tired. The bathroom ceiling looked like it had been subject to constant leaking, the internal door was missing and the frame and bathroom door was missing a lot of paint. Asked for superior rooms and apart from the kettle, could hardly be described as superior. The excellent friendly reception staff saved the day. The restaurant food was excellent value, and as said earlier the reception staff were friendly, efficient and extremely helpful.

The heater in the room did not work. We reported to the reception it was checked and we were told it was working. The next day we again informed reception the heater was not working and the room was cold during the night. Again no action was taken to fix and the next night the room was cold again. When we were checking out we asked why no action was taken and did not receive an answer in fact the response was you have not paid the local tax,when we had in fact paid e4.80 on arrival again the response was are you sure. We explained we had paid the amount to the person requesting payment twice his response was are you sure no apology.

Nice comfortable, large room. Clean and tidy. The staff spoke English quite well. Check-in and out straightforward. Their restaurant was closed at the weekend, but we found a nice galette restaurant within a short walk (near Carrefour). We purchased the breakfast buffet in the hotel: not a huge choice but nice food. The car park is within its own compound - and the area looked safe too.

Quite a comfortable stop over, the bed was ok but the pillows were rubbish, we had to use the towels under the pillows to give more support.
The room would have benefited by tea and coffee making facilities.
The restaurant facilities were sufficient with quite a good selection on the menu.

The hotel is located within walking distance of the Madeleine shopping centre and food for an overnight stop.

The lady on check in wasn't especially helpful or nice, but the gentleman on checkout was extremely professional and really friendly so they balanced each other up.

However, I did get double charged as I booked through Expedia and then the lady at the hotel claimed I had not paid (which I had) so charged me again. Expedia has offered to look in to this, but I believe the hotel should've offered to look in to this rather than get annoyed and not even give it two thoughts.

Dreadful dirty hotel, smirking receptionist

We chose the Brithotel in St Malo because the Brithotel in Binic was so good; the staff there were friendly, helpful and sympathetic. Our vehicle broke down, and the Binic hotel manager came with me to the garage to help explain the problem. The contrast at Le Transat in St Malo could not have been greater. None of our requests on the booking form were honoured. We are father and daughter travelling together, so we needed two single beds: the receptionist said (with a smirk) \"Only double bed\". The bathroom was dirty. (For example, the towel picked up a stain from the wall.)
Our advice to travellers would be: do not stay at Le Transat. Go to Binic instead.

Horrible service!

It was a terrible experience! I paid my room with wifi included and all the time I stayed there the wifi wasnt working and they didnt do anything to fix it. No one there speak another language, just French, so if you are from another country and dont speak French you are not able to comunicate with them. Also, when I got there they chargered us a \"turistic tax\" that we werent aware of that. Never stay in this hotel!

Useful in terms of position for a one night stay if you are catching an early morning ferry from the port. The staff were not very skilled but were helpful after guidance from the manager. The hotel was quiet but in the restaurant they let you sit where you wanted ie didn't bunch you all together to make life easier for them and the food was really excellent. The bedroom was comfortable but did not have any coffee/tea making facilities and when you are leaving early and breakfast not available, it would have been nice. Very good welcome on the whole and was well looked after. Although, when I booked it asked me if I wanted a smoking room which I did but the whole hotel was non smoking so perhaps the website needs updating!

A warm and friendly hotel, staff pleasant and easy going. Only thing was that breakfast was shown at €9 in the room and at reception they charged €9.80 saying they hadn't changed the sign. A minor point but on principle not the best of attitude. You need a car to get here, there is a bus but it doesn't run often. Nice beef and potato restaurants on the roundabout within walking distance.

A pleasant hotel on the periphery.

Located on the edge of St.-Malo, but near the Aquarium. Quiet room, comfortable bed, perfectly fine breakfast buffet, friendly bar.

If you want to get to the city center without the hassle of finding a place to park, and without the expense of a taxi, there's a bus stop a short distance behind the hotel, and the bus will take you into town efficiently and for a token sum.

Nice Hotel 15min from Walled City

It is a Brit Hotel chain hotel about 15min from the walledd city. You do need a car or public transport to get in the city. Nice good size room. Hôtel staff is friendly. There is free parking and wifi. Standard continental breakfast of chain hotel.
The restaurant's menu is good and affordable. There is a seafood dish with sole, tuna, mackeral, scallops and oyster in cream sauce at a very good price

The downstairs rooms were clean and pleasent but rooms could do with decorating,the air conditioning didnt work very well and it was a very warm night and if the window was open mosquitos entered our room i also thought the room we had booked was a balcony room but was dissapointed to find just a normal window,also there was a towel on the floor behind the toilet which was seperate to the bathroom. the hotel is convenient to a shopping centre and supermarket and within easy reach of saint malo ferry terminal breakfast is continental which which you pay 9 euros each this was good with food prepared on the premises help yourself buffet which was very good dont know if i would stay there again but wont sat i never would although i thought it was a little expensive for what it was in comparison to the hotel in england the following night which was only a few pounds but much better

L’hotel si trova all’interno di un blocco di strutture commerciali. La stanza che avevo scelto era standard con letto king. Mi è stata assegnata la stanza 310: una camera con letto matrimoniale (160cm di larghezza) ed un terzo letto, con vista sui bidoni dell’immondizia. Stanza davvero inqualificabile per le condizioni generali: moquette sporca, porte rovinate, materasso messo su un pagliericcio, arredi datati e con segni di usura, bagno con vasca e tendina in plastica per la doccia.
Alle mie rimostranze, data la spesa di 184,13€ per una notte, la signora alla reception si dice “désolée” ma le pare che il prezzo non sia alto per Saint Malo. Forse, se l’hotel si fosse trovato in città e non alla periferia all’interno di un complesso di grandi magazzini, e forse se la stanza fosse stata in condizioni accettabili. Ho anche dovuto rifare il letto perché il lenzuolo inferiore era stato messo al contrario, e non copriva completamente il materasso. Un’esperienza indicibile.

Nous avions une chambre PMR.
Chambre qui manque cruellement de modernité.
Je comprend le besoin de la douche sans paroi mais la salle de bain ce transforme en piscine. Il faudrait a minima l'ajout d'une raclette pour enlever l'eau.
Pour la literie, c'est vraiment pas terrible. Matelas où nous avons pu sentir les ressorts, qui a le confort plus proche d'un trampoline que d'un lit.
Très loin du confort attendu dans ce type d'hôtel (et pourtant habituel dans cette catégorie).
Par contre, le départ jusqu'à midi est vraiment appréciable.
Rien a dire sur le personnel, très agréable.
