The Chateau is amazing! The architecture is beautiful as are the guest rooms, drawing room and dining / breakfast room. The surrounding property and lake is beautiful. Our hosts Sebastien, Nicholas and chef Sokho were great. Highly Recommended!!

Please feel more than comfortable in reserving a stay at this remarkable chateau. The accommodations were impeccable, the staff is super friendly and the breakfast was delicious.

we were here 7 years ago and loved the place.. it has that old french castle look we were looking for and very close to downtown StMalo .it is spotty clean, large rom and big bathroom.breakfast buffet has lot of choice. teh place to stay in St-Malo

Absolutely wonderful

We stayed for a week and enjoyed every minute of every day that we were here. Staff is warm and welcoming. We used this as a base to take day trips around Bretagne and Normandy, and always joked that we were \"going home\" at the end of the day. Breakfast included many local products, and always tasted fresh. Selection superb, setting relaxing. If we go back to this part of France, we would not stay anywhere else.

The best and most romantic place for a very affordable price.
Also you MUST have dinner there. This is the spouse of the hotel manager who is cooking and the food is just amazing. The bread is done minutes before being brought to the table.
It is unbelievable to see how cheap the price is vs the top service and top quality you get there.

Wonderful service and delightful staff who could not be more helpful or pleasant. Beautiful grounds and building straight out of a fairy tale. But you can actually stay there and it’s quite reasonable. I would love to return.

4th time here but first under new managers. Didn’t realise the previous couple had left. Attention to detail not there any longer and not quite so special as an experience. Perfectly charming still but lacks the special something which made this place so great before.

Delightful place to stay near Saint Malo

The hotel is in a great location, close to Saint Malo, Cancale and other beautiful places on the Atlantic. The restaurant is wonderful. There is a new chef and I had the best oysters and lobster I’ve had in years! The service was terrific and we enjoyed walking around the chateau with a glass of champagne. For 150€ a night, it was a great value.

A two star hotel masquerading as a 4 star hotel

I booked this hotel several months ago on the basis that it has a restaurant. On the morning of my arrival I received an email from the hotel to inform me that they were invoking low season early and that that restaurant would not be available.

I asked for a partial refund and was offered some cheese instead.

Had I know it did not have a functioning restaurant I would not have booked this hotel.

When you pay significant amount per room for a 4 star hotel with a restaurant, that is what you expect.

The hotel refused to make any kind of refund. Do not stay here as you may not get all of the services they say they offer.

Ideal French experience, beautiful cheateau with very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely rooms, great location, excellent restaurant at the cheateau but also near other great dining choices. We would go back to this place again.

St Malo charm

If you are looking for a stay at a lovely manor home then this is your place! A spectacular home overlooking beautifully manicured gardens. No need to travel to town for a delectable meal as they have an in house restaurant. When we return to St Malo we will definitely stay here again.

The restaurant was superb and the staff were excellent. The chateau and grounds were delightful and only a short taxi drive to the St Malo old city.

Great location but still very quiet.

Wonderful staff, great food, impressive but comfortable accommodations. An overall memorable experience. My only suggestion would be to improve the lighting in the bathroom otherwise no complaints at all. The staff were professional while still being personable and friendly.

When we arrived at this hotel after three hours' travel from Paris on the TGV, the place was empty, dark and there were no cars around. My husband got down to go to the front desk and the hotel door was LOCKED and we could not see anyone there. We kept knocking and calling for about ten minutes and no one answered. Then we heard a very large dog barking, we got scared and left. I told Hotels.com and then someone from the hotel said that she was there, that she saw us and that she thinks we saw her. If we had, we would have turned back. we had nowhere to stay that night and had to go into town to look for another hotel. The hotel refuses to return my money, I have never had such a BAD EXPERIENCE in my life. To arrive at night to a hotel out in the boonies, in a very dark and lonely place, to find it locked and empty and then have a huge dog barking like crazy at us. I insist that this person from the hotel, Carole, return our payment., as any serious and honest business person would.

Exactly as shown in photos. I would stay again.

Gorgeous chateau very close to town but feels like you're out in the country. Tricky to find at night the first time, but well worth the effort.
We arrived after a long day traveling and sight seeing, around 8pm, and hadn't yet had dinner. We were delighted to find they have their own restaurant. Our delight was discovering sensational food with artistic presentation. It was a fine dining experience right in the chateau!
On site management is personal and helpful and they speak English. Highly recommend!

Romantic castle minutes from St Malo

The hotel is located only 10 min drive from St Malo that we were visiting. It was very close and convenient and we were able to go back to the hotel to refresh before going back out for dinner.
The hotel itself is a beautiful castle on a beautiful property. It has all the modern amenities you would need but with that life in a castle vibe. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful.
Breakfast buffet had some home-made traditional local pastries along with your choice of eggs, cheese, meat: great assortment!
It was a fantastic romantic gateway. Would definitely recommend and go back!

Beautiful property and grounds

The chateau is simply beautiful and peaceful, with very comfortable beds and nice amenities. This is certainly not top of the line luxury, or even four star by most measures, but the place is quaint and charming and you do feel like you are staying in a historic home. We enjoyed it very much.

Chateau on edge of St Malo

well the shower was awful and we succeeded in flooding reception do to poor layout of shower in bath.

advertises tea/ coffee facilities in the room but you have 1 tea bag each and one milk. asked at reception for more to be told no more you order tea downstairs.

shown breakfast room piled high with bed linen then nextmorning find out we could have breakfast in conservatory like most other guests.

definitely not worth the money!!

Beautiful hotel, good location for ferry port

The hotel is quite stunning when you drive up to it. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the hotel is not at all stuffy but has great taste in décor, menu etc. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. The only problem we had was that we found it difficult to locate as our sat nav did not recognise the address but the hotel staff were excellent on the telephone.

A Fairy Tale Palace\n

We are a family of 4 adults and we celebrated my daughter's 33rd Birthday at this stunning Chateau. We had the Superior and Luxury Suites, which overlook the stunning grounds. The staff were beyond welcoming, friendly and helpful. Karen ? ( and her husband who is also the chef sorry I cannot remember their names but this couple are both gems ) made our stay a celebration. The food was excellent and we did not consider it too pricey - for what you got! We even got a small Birthday Cake which was to die for! There is ample free parking and its very close to many sites, including Mt.Saint Michel.
We will go back to Chateau du Colombier in a heartbeat.
I totlally recommend this fairy tale palace. It really is such a treat!

Beautiful location, great food -- and so hot!

We spent a night here in early June - during a heatwave so the one overwhelming impression was the heat - even with our windows wide open it was too hot to sleep well. Other than that, a lovely hotel with a small staff working very hard indeed to keep us happy. Splendid gardens and a very relaxed feel. Quite hard to find but once we arrived it had a feeling of having stepped back in time. Seemed like a very family-friendly place.

Chateau feel

A short 10 minute ride to intra-muros St. Malo - An estate that made you feel you were arriving in the 18th century. Beautiful grounds with character - just what we were looking for a few days and not the typical hotels ! A good point of stay to drive to other close towns nearby. Arrived with my family - senior citizens which didn't want to leave as the chateau made them feel at home. Originally booked for 2 nights but stayed 3 nights. Very spacious rooms , large beds and comfortable also. Beautiful views overlooking the gardens. Breakfast was also good value. Definitely need a car and a GPS. Free Wifi but a bit slow nevertheless they had a computer hardwire at your disposal.

We were hoping for a charming chateau experience, but were disappointed. The room was small, the shower in the bathroom without screen or curtain. The grounds are run-down, and the hotel unloved.The only fire escape from the second floor appears to be the main wooden staircase!

Lovely chateau but needs updating

Beautiful hotel in lovely grounds, but internally it needs some updating. There is no restaurant which was a problem in the evening as nearest places to eat are 4 miles away.

Excellent Chateau near Saint Malo

Beautiful retreat from the business of the city. Peaceful grounds surrounding the Chateau. Excellent continental breakfast. Easy to get to other popular destinations from here. Our honeymoon was enchanting in a very romantic country and destination point at Saint Malo.

Wonderful romantic peaceful but accessible chateau

We loved our single night here, quite quirky but full of character. Room was lovely - shame that the jacuzzi bath didn't work but only cos it was there!! Views over the garden were wonderful as is the garden which is lovely to stroll around. There is no restaurant but St Malone is ten to fifteen minutes and there are loads of lovely eateries in the walled town. We did not find it difficult to find, the sat nav took us straight there. Very accommodating staff. We slept like logs. Hope to go again.

Classic, historic chateau set in the countryside

The hotel rooms are large and well decorated for a chateau such as this. The hotel bar is actually a little lounge to the right of reception and the receptionist will get your drinks for you. It closes at 10pm so the hotel is very quiet. The grounds are beautiful. The staff members were helpful and friendly.

It's not a 4 star hotel. its more a B&B. It's a lovely setting and the grounds are beautiful. Location is out of the way and if you don't have a car it is a bit difficult. borrowed the bikes but they were terrible to breaking point. Service was friendly but not very knowledgeable. Ordered a cab to cancale and we were told it would cost 15-20 euro. The cab they called pulled up with 11 euros already on the meter. 37euros was the end result. just bad Info. Quiet rooms.

Great stay outside of town

A fantastic hotel outside of the town of Saint Malo, large clean rooms with good service and well kept grounds. This hotel is ideal for exploring the local towns and beaches. It is probably essential to have a car, even to visit Saint Malo. The alternative is a taxi which we used on several occasions at a reasonable cost.

Quaint and charming

We enjoyed this quaint and charming Chateau. It's an old manor with the expected limitations after becoming a hotel but it had charm, the staff were exceedingly helpful and the breakfast was good. It is a little hard to find. A street address so we could use our GPS would have been helpful.
